Reviewed Oct 16, 2026Clean and stylish. Lovely room. Good tea and coffee facilities and fridge. Even though it was on a roundabout the secondary glazing provided good sound proofing. Breakfast is in the neighbouring cafe, which was nice but very different from a usual b and b
No en-suite. It probably said that in the blurb but didn’t notice. Unusual for a b and b these days to have no en-suite. It did have a private bathroom but you have to go out in the communal hall to access it. Perhaps some robes would be a good idea

Reviewed Oct 16, 2026We loved how close it was to the Monsal trail and was a great base before starting our walk, we also loved how the breakfast was included and brought to our table vs the usual buffet style breakfast
We found the instructions slightly confusing to get into the property with the various codes for each door

Reviewed Oct 14, 2026Really comfortable room, spacious, fantastic view. Easy check-in with codes. Large shower room. Warm and could control heating easily, and the window opened! Great view.
The room was perfect. The only downside was breakfast was included but not available until 9am in hassop cafe. Lovely coffees but the cooked breakfast wasn't worth waiting for.

Reviewed Oct 14, 2026I liked the fact that it was a renovated farm building with character, in keeping with the locality. Didn't mind walking over to the cafe as it was so worth it. The breakfast was excellent and I loved the coffee. It's set in an old train station, so again it had lovely features. The staff are really friendly. The room was cosy and the bathroom was good. It is great value for money and only a couple of miles outside of Bakewell. I would totally recommend it. Bakewell is a joy. These dales are very like the Yorkshire ones, but these are much nearer to my home, so I'm more likely to visit again, and I look forward to it.
I was surprised at the traffic passing by, but the double window filtered most of it out. Also, you're mostly only there in the evening when it's died down.

Easy distance to Chatsworth and Bakewell.
Had a separate bathroom across the landing, which was spotlessly clean.
The traffic! The room was on the road side of the building, and being on a busy roundabout was noisy till 11pm and from 6am. Must be a trunk road, because most of the traffic was lorries.
Only stayed 1 night, so was bearable.
Spacious room with a comfortable bed. Tasty breakfast with the great service

Bathroom: Filthy, no loo roll, sink didn’t drain, no indication that it wasn’t en suite, old/hard towels.

During the night I had to turn the fridge off as it was SO loud. The noise and light from the road was extremely loud and so I had little sleep.

Great breakfast choice and service .
Our room was well presented and clean.
Our room (room5) overlooked the road and roundabout, it was very noisy with traffic, some big lorries going right under our window, regularly and occasionally in the night.
Having to cross thel landing for the bathroom wasn't ideal.

Reviewed Sep 14, 2026Great location, very clean throughout, and breakfast had a good variety of choice. The coffee bags were also a nice touch, and there were some good places to eat just a short drive away.
The bed was very soft and uncomfortable, and the fridge in the room was extremely loud at night. Our bathroom was across the hall rather than en-suite, which we weren’t made aware of until a couple of days before our stay. The bathroom also lacked a shower mat and hand towel. Tea and coffee weren’t replenished during our two-night stay

Reviewed Sep 14, 2026I dont normally write lengthy reviews but we were so impressed. We booked here as it was close to our friends wedding venue, and sadly we didn’t get to spend that much time in the room. The instructions were really clear and easy to follow. Free secure parking was included which was a bonus. The room was lovely and warm when we arrived and very clean. The layout was great, we could have easily stayed a lot longer and although we didn’t book to stay in the local area long we would actually love to come back and explore. The bedding and mattress were super comfortable, we had a great nights sleep. Then we walked over to the cafe for breakfast and the menu had loads of options. I ordered a full English breakfast and my partner had eggs benedict - both were delicious. We thought it was too good to be true and double checked there was nothing else to pay as there was so much included. Great value for money!

Unfortunately we will not be stopping here in the future. We found the room dirty. Windowsill was covered in fly's. The tea and coffee facilities on arrival had not been stocked. Empty sachets of milk left from previous guest.
Room smelt musty and carpet had not been hoovered. As well as this, there were stains all over the carpet.
We were lucky to have an ensuite, however you could hear people all night using the shared bathroom. Door banged each time which kept us awake.
A refurbishment is recommended. Very dated.

No air conditioning, just a pedestal fan and no ensuite bathroom. Noise from the road/roundabout was very loud as we had to keep the windows open due to the hot weather.
Very clean and spacious room with gorgeous views, had a lovely outdoor area to sit with a coffee and watch the birds. Perfect location for Mosal trail as right on your doorstep
The beds were uncomfortable as could feel the springs digging into my body and as a dog friendly place the room had a slight damp dog smell.

Great breakfast in the cafe.
There was an overpowering smell of dog in the room. Did not go away with opening the window. The bath hadn't been cleaned.
Location was great. Loved having our sitting area, fridge, somewhere to hang coats, bed was comfy, a great space!
Slightly bigger hand towels. That's it.
Near the cycle route we were riding.
Not an ensuite but no big issue as directly across the hall. Would have liked a key to access it as anyone could technically use it and we had our toiletries in there.
Location was great for trail and Bakewell. Cafe and breakfast were fantastic too.

The room is big enough with a nice bathroom. We only stay a night. The breakfast is served at Hassop Cafe Shop next to the Old Monsal Railway Line. Coffee and food are excellent and worth the value.
The property is right on the side of a roundabout and is a bit noisy during the day. However, it is much quieter at night. Parking is free but could be tricky. We are luck to have a space in front of the property, but it only has two spaces. You will have to park in the cafe car park. There is no restaurant nearby, I'd suggest to drive to Bakewell town which is 9 minutes away by car.

Stayed in room 5, the road was quite busy and loud throughout the night, could also do with curtains as-well as the blinds to eliminate the early morning light spilling in.
