Location, ambience
Nothing really
Breakfast very good and staff helpful.
Bedroom a bit cramped and floor beam to step over between bedroom and bathroom
The hotel is old and quirky, but was extremely lovely and inviting. Our room was awesome and the view across Bakewell was fantastic. The staff were friendly and helpful. We'd definitely stay there again!
The only problem we encountered was the limited parking. There were plenty of spaces when I parked on the Friday but found that two cars were parked nearby at such angles and positioning that it took me a while to maneuver out.

Pleasant stay
Room was delightful with a lovely view and quirky furniture etc. Location was great for a wander into town.
On arrival we were met by a very helpful and friendly lady who showed us to our room which was very large and excellent garden views but on inspection not very clean inside wardrobe very stained carpet well past its life with a few stains and a large rug stuck to the carpet not sure what this was covering also the large chair was very dirty all down the arm. Room cleaning service was none existent and the bed never made up I had to ask twice to have the waste bins emptied this was only done on our third day with the supply of new towels as the old one where wet as no heated towel rail also only one very small bar of soap glad we bought our own.The breakfast served in the room was very pleasant along with staff that served it . Would not stay here again sorry.
Room cleaned and serviced
A beautiful boutique room with all the amenities we could wish for. Lovely helpful staff and a most relaxing and pleasant stay. Couldn't fault it. Thank you to the staff for their hard work and dedication.
It was all great.
Great location
Kitchen area very small, no room for draining dishes. Microwave would be better raised on brackets or shelf. No container to heat porridge/milk in, only plates and shallow cereal bowl.
Beautiful building.. Lovely views from the garden. Very close to centre of Bakewell. Lovely hosts.
Unconventional set up of the room.
Excellent location, great property in terms of history/ architecture.
The beds were far too soft and uncomfortable. We did not sleep well. This needs attention. The temperature on the shower was too hot and was not adjustable. This needs the attention from a plumber.
Bed and room uncomfortable. Bathroom poor especially the shower which for the most part had no hot water. No restaurant not even for breakfast
Location lovely
Booked for the view and bath but view was a wall and bath was inoperable as had a note saying don’t put jets on as bits of pipe would flow into bath!!! No mention of this in booking particulars.
Friendly welcome on arrival, the room was exceptional, vast and felt special for a romantic break with my partner, and my birthday. Location is spot on albeit up a steep hill.
I didn’t quiz the breakfast options, my fault, I possibly over ordered. But it being brought to your room by Georgina is an exceptional treat. If checkout was 11 that would have been great. But all in all a wonderful break.

The room was lovely and airy. Little kitchen area was welcome for making morning tea. Host was very welcoming.
Up a steep short hill from the town centre .
Historic property with lovely decor, walking distance to town
Nothing !!!
Great place, big and comfortable suite. Great for a family.
There was no cleaning service during our stay (4 nights). I think we were supposed to specifically ask for it, but weren’t aware.
Beautiful old building. Lovely room. Great location for a scroll around Bakewell 👌
Nothing, all was good...
Absolutely gorgeous room which was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The shower was amazing although not great if you're tall like us but the pressure more than made up for the sloping roof. Great location too with an easy walk into town.
Amazing views. Had room with balcony. Very spacious room.
Car park a bit crowded.
Lovely suite. Clean, and comfortable. Stunning grounds and views. Location was great.
Location
The staff locked the guests out of the public spaces from evening until morning. They also locked up the beverage refrigerator in the guest lounge, even though the guests were supposed to be able to enjoy beverages there. Maid service was entirely absent unless we hunted the staff down and requested it. Staff were rarely to be seen
Centrally located and good rooms
The room was so hot we couldn’t sleep despite the blind having been down all day! The window was open allowing all the warm air inside
Excellent room. Lovely views. Very good access to nearby town Centre.
Bit of trouble with Wi-Fi but it worked fine in the lounge.
Great location clean rooms and polite staff
All was fabulous
Historisch interessantes Haus mit charmanter Patina, liebevoll geführt, schöner Terrasse, Parkplatz vorhanden.
Einrichtung ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen.
Lovely location. Parking was well organised and it is a simple walk into the town.
Location was great on a hill so maybe a hard walk for some but worth it.excellent attention to detail-everything you needed was there-room spotless.
Can’t think of anything
Spacious clean accommodation, parking on site, stunning views, all within walking distance from town
Everything was perfect
Lovely property within close walking distance to the town
Central location and characterful property. There is a nice lounge and outdoor terrace that was not completely apparent on first arrival and discovered later in our stay. Facilities good for self catering.
Parking was a trial and quite tight. Mattress too soft for me and restricted space around bed. General room facilities were good however. Sloping roof a challenge in a number of areas for those of us 6ft plus!
Beautiful building, stunning views
Our room was a bit too close to the car park, so we got some outside noise
Very comfortable and great size room with a fantastic view.
Great location ,fantastic room ,wonderful hospitality, free parking
Towels could do with being bigger in bathroom
Very nice place to stay including apartment-style room. Beautiful location for anyone mobile enough for a steepish hill.
Would have been nice to have an easy chair in the room. There were however two dining chairs and a small dining table.
Location was great for getting into town. Staff were really friendly and helpful.
The building itself is very nice and the room was excellent
No bar. Seemingly no staff as reception was not manned no cleaner visited the room. No telephone in room to order a breakfast though you also had to do it 24 hours in advance
Beautiful property. Really well looked after and very clean.
The ancient furniture , location, facilities, and architecture

Lovely old quirky building with lots of authentic features. Very comfortable and lovely views.
Parking is limited and tight. No reception - but not a problem as owner can be contacted by mobile.
Great location. Just a few minutes walk into the centre.
Nothing
size of room
fridge very old, kitchette very small
Fik ikke morgenmaf
Gasfyr i skabet lige ved siden af sengen. Utrygt Lugt af mug og kloak. Spooky personale. Ønskede afregning i kontanter mod rabat
Beautiful place. Excellent location. Stunning views from the front of the building
Great location ahead of the "Mighty Hike"
Nothing to add.
The room was lovely and comfortable bed
Breakfast wasn’t included and no bar
Lovely people, nice room,
No welcome drink, small bottle of wine would be a nice gesture, after all its not the cheapest so should differentiate a little more
Lovely old building..
Did not see any of the staff after we arrived..
Amazing building, location good, bed was comfortable.
Getting the correct temperature in the shower was very difficult - either scorching hot or cold. Gave up on one occasion! Thought we would have the advertised TV streaming but our TV was too old to do this. Odd arrangement having the bathroom and toilet at the top of the stairs which meant privacy issues if partner wanted to be in the spartan kitchenette downstairs (Attico suite)
It is a property built in 1680, therefore you are staying in history. The property has been developed but kept a lot of original features.
No air con, however England or the UK as a whole has not predicted that this would be needed. Very warm upstairs. However a fan was provided
Did not have breakfast’s Location excellent for town
location and them whole area is wonderful and just a short walk into Bakewell , although quite steep hill
Nothing to dislike
Lovely property in a wonderful location with excellent views. Friendly & attentive
Very roomy (we stayed in a 2 bedroom), breakfast was generous portions, staff was friendly. Easy walk down the hill to town. We ate at the Woodyard, which was recommended by the lodge, and it was delicious! The hot honey haloumi pizza was my favorite.
A second fan for the 2nd bedroom would have been much appreciated (during this hot hot summer).
Good room with god facilities in a nice location
Not sure it was worth the price charged
Lovely stay in beautiful Bakewell. Great location for pubs etc in centre of town for dinner. Lovely clean room.
Lovely place to stay. Convenient for town. Lots of food & drink options in town. Would stay again.
Parking slightly awkward, but we were able to park fine.
Such a lovely place to stay, we had warm welcome, everything was perfect and the location is next to the center and the view from the garden is beautiful ❤️
Bedroom with fantastic views.
Nothing. Parking a little tight.
Everything !!!
Nothing !!!!
Great rooms and facilities in a distinguished property excellently located in Bakewell
The size of the room and the kitchen facilities. The garden was amazing, with fantastic views Quiet location but the town was easily accessible
Someone having TV on very loud in the next room on one night
Absolutely beautiful, clean , quiet, historical. Location meant we could leave the car parked all weekend
Quite expensive but en-par with all accommodation in Bakewell

Decor tired and dated. Soft furnishings/carpet need a deep clean. Scatter cushions on bed were dirty/stained. Washer not working. Shower head held up by plastic bag. Outside balcony very dirty..needs attention plastic chairs very cheap.
The place is sensational - beautiful surroundings and sensational service ❤️

Loved the spacious room, free parking and location.
Somewhat aggravating to wait following repeated calls upon arrival, for phone pick up and someone to meet us at reception as had been arranged. Other than thus, all fine
Absolutely a beautiful property . Loved every minute of it
Nothing
Excellent Welcome from the owners. A really interesting, historic building very close to the centre of Bakewell. A lovely garden with views over the town. The room was very clean.
We stayed in the "garden room" which is billed as the standard double. This is a semi-basement room accessed directly off the garden which is OK in fine weather. The ceilings are quite low and the door and shower very low. If you are over 5ft 11 inches then be prepared to crouch. The room claimed to have a coffee maker but we did have to ask for one (which was provided) as only instant sachets were there. We only stayed 2 nights but the room was not serviced during the day despite the website saying all rooms were serviced daily. As we had to leave early we weren't able to chat about this with the owner. Other suites may not have these issues.
Very pretty and good public spaces (outdoor area and lounge rooms). Nice friendly staff.
Car parking was difficult; did not know we had to order room tidy up or breakfast (before it was too late); reception on a ‘call us’ basis when we arrived (a little after after 6pm)…
All very good = location, cleanliness, comfort etc
Perfect location. 5 mins walk to the town centre. Room was very well equiped and bed was very comfortable. Private parking available for guests.
Cannot think of anything I would change
Espectacular desde todo punto de vista ! Muy recomendable .
Friendly welcome, location
Limited head height in places
La casa antigua, espectacular . La habitación comodisima. Sus dueños súper amables. Muy recomendable.
Me gustó todo
Character and proximity to the town
Parking
Lovely position overlooking Bakewell and surrounding countryside. Beautifully presented suite with eclectic furniture and fittings.
Uncomfortable sofa and chairs, bathroom too hot (probably from heated towel rail).
Lovely setting, close proximity to bakewell centre, comfy bed, spacious room and nice to have breakfast in the room
No staff or permanent reception for check in/check out. No information on what time breakfast would arrive and no options for breakfast (not wanting something on it for example).
It’s a beautiful historic building about a five minute walk into Bakewell town Centre. It’s well positioned clean and very comfortable.
Parking is tight, so just watch out if you have a big vehicle. It’s also at a top of a hill, so if you’re walking into town just bear that in mind for the return. But neither should prevent you from staying here.
Beautiful building and location.
The room felt very tired and seemed like it was loads of random stuff that just didn’t go together.
Quaint. Fantastic dual aspect room overlooking Bakewell. Large comfortable bed. Very quiet. Good parking.
Nothing .
Bagshaw Hall location is spot on. Right in the centre of Bakewell with its own car parking. There is a lovely back garden with great views over Bakewell (photo attached). The old building possesses great character with lots of nooks and crannies. Something I like but that’s a personal preference.

Friendly welcome Loved our room Beautifully maintained

The room was attractive, very comfortable and clean. The property was really beautiful with great views and a lovely little garden. The location is really excellent, easy walking distance of the the town and right in the heart of the Peak District, surrounded by beautiful walks and villages.
We didn’t like having to use our phone to call the receptionist.

Bakewell was lovely. Bagshall Hall was a great location
The room we stopped in was not to our liking .The boiler was situated in the lounge area .Very noisy. Few cleaning issues .
Location is excellent — just a few minutes' walk to the centre of Bakewell. The bed was comfortable, and on-site parking is a welcome bonus. The woman who checked us in was pleasant and helpful.
We stayed in the Bentley Suite for one Saturday night and paid £224. The location is convenient for Bakewell, but the room was not up to the standard we expected for that price. The suite appeared not to have been thoroughly cleaned: the fridge was dirty, disgusting chopping board (also nothing to actually chop with if you are intending on using the kitchen), mould on plug sockets, a wardrobe door off its hinge, a ball of hair under the dressing table and an empty plastic bag in a drawer. Spare duvets had simply been thrown into the wardrobe. I have upoaded photos. The glossy website photos suggest a much cleaner, better-presented room than we experienced. Paying a premium rate for accommodation that wasn’t up to scratch felt excessive.
The hosts were super kind, helpful, and the breakfast and view were terrific!
Great location just minutes from centre of Bakewell. Huge room, had everything you needed, microwave, toaster, fridge, etc. Dining table and coffee table, huge tv. Very quiet and lovely view.
There was nothing to dislike.
Brilliant stay, the property was in the middle of town. Tea and coffee, etc., in the property. We plan to go back.
