Location was perfect. Clean, modern, simple interiors. Designed for travellers who would rather enjoy their stay than think about what could be improved. Everything was perfect.

I very much enjoyed a recent one week stay here at this beautiful river side resort. Ian and his staffs (Pui & Mimi) are very lovely and make great hosts, very kind and accommodating.. communication before and during the visit was perfect.. everything in the room and the common spaces felt like new, perfect condition and high quality furnishings and finishing.. the riverside location is very peaceful and calming, and there is a large common area with tables and sofas beside the river.. SUP and kayak available for the river, which is really nice.. and the best beach on the island is just a couple hundred meters away. Too many nice amenities to mention, but I can say that everything was very thoughtfully prepared to make things easy for guests. I was very sorry to leave and would happily recommend Baan Rim Nam to others

Ein toller Ort! Ian und seine Frau sind absolut aufmerksame Gastgeber, alles ist perfekt, die Lage, die Atmosphäre und die Sauberkeit! Man ist schnell am Strand und im Ort, leckere Restaurants sind in der Nähe.

Möjlighet att köpa drycker och enklare frukost. Kanoter för utlåning. Välfungerande wifi och AC. Fantastisk, mycket hjälpsam ägare med full koll på ön Koh Chang! Promenadavstånd till strand, restauranger och affärer. Återvänder mer än gärna!!

Просторный номер, удобная кровать, на мини кухне есть все необходимое. В апартаментах удобно организовано пространство, вплоть до мелочей. Очень отзывчивый владелец Ян, готовый всегда помочь. На пляже и вдоль реки на противоположном берегу реки (апартаментов) - кафешки, всегда можно покушать. При этом шума нет от них. 15 минут пешком (можно арендовать мопед) - деревня, там продуктовые магазины, уличная еда, кафешки, лавочки с фруктами - покупали каждый день свежевыжатый сок, массаж.

Eine tolle Unterkunft mit einem großen Zimmer und einem schönen Badezimmer, geführt von einem sehr netten englisch/thailändischen Paar. Die Lage ist sehr besonders an einer Flussmündung. Alle Zimmer stehen auf Stelzen in den Mangroven und sind über einen Steg erreichbar. Es stehen Kajaks zur Verfügung, um bei Flut den Strand zu erreichen. Unbedingte Empfehlung!

Our second time staying here, Baan Rim Nam is Great. If you enjoy kayaking or paddleboarding, this is the place for you, as they are offered to guests free of charge. 100% would come back.

Practically nothing. If you wanted to find something, it would be very minor things: the lighting in the bathroom and sometimes the smell in the bathroom. But these weren't nuisances; the place is wonderful, and it would be hard to improve on it.

This place is amazing, I've lived in Thailand for 6 years and this is the best place I've ever stayed. The location, the rooms, the bed, bathroom, TV, kayaks everything is excellent! You won't regret staying here at all

I only wish we'd of stayed here for our whole Koh Chang trip!

Die Unterkunft und das ganze Areal ist wunderschön und sehr liebevoll gepflegt. Ian und seine Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und sehr bemüht. Wenn man etwas Ruhe vom thailändischen Trubel sucht, ist man im Baan Rim Nam genau richtig. Der Strand ist 100 mit entfernt und man hat einen privaten Einstieg in die Lagune wo man sich immer Kajaks, Kanus oder Stand up Paddel ausborgen kann. Ein paar gute Restaurants befinden sich in der Nähe. Um in die nächstgelegene Ortschaft zu kommen, ist es von Vorteil ein Moped zu buchen, da man fast 15 Min. zu Fuß benötigt. Meine Familie (Kinder 8,13)und ich haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen.

This homestay is faultless, a superb accommodation which is clean, in a great position on the estuary near superb beaches. The kitchen is fully equipped and near the fruit market, shops and a really good selection of restaurants.

Room and facilities exceeded expectations! Owners are super helpful and friendly. Nothing they can't help you with. I loved that we could swim in the river. It's clear and clean. Bed very comfortable and air-conditioned plus fan! Beautiful renovated bathroom. Even has Netflix and strong wifi! Little paddle on a free SUP or canoe or kayak at you're at the beach. Arranged a motorbike for us easily and great recommendations for restaurants and massage! I will 💯% return here!

I didn’t want to leave! If you are looking for a comfortable stay and excellent hospitality in a beautiful, unique area, this is a really good choice. My room was so comfy, modern and fresh, with a super nice balcony overlooking the river. Such a peaceful spot surrounded by mangroves ❤️ And the staff is always ready to help with anything you need! + There's a great beach restaurant just a couple of minutes away

We absolutely loved it all, the location was fabulous the bungalow was perfect, everything was very good quality, spotlessly clean and all the linen, towels, toiletries and equipment in the room was first class. The information provided by Ian and the team is fantastic and extremely informative and helpful. A very lovely stay in a first class accommodation. Absolutely incredible place! Tucked away in the mangroves this is a gem. Not only the staff is super friendly and helpful also the accommodation is breathtaking. One of the best places I’ve stayed so far. Would recommend 100% to people who like the authentic feelz of a place with great facilities which to my opinion are pretty neat and fancy comparing to standard Thai accommodation. There is nothing to add that hasn‘t been written by the other reviewers: The Baan Nim Ram is the place to stay on Koh Chang if you are looking for the perfect combination of tranquility, comfort and hospitality. The owners‘ attention to detail is unrivaled and lets you enjoy a moderately priced stay feeling like the guest of a five-star hotel. Highly recommended!

This small boutique resort deserves 5star reviews because the total experience was superb! My only regret is that I didn’t book it earlier and have more time to spend there. The owners are lovely and will help you out with any questions and are so knowledgeable about the island. Mimi and Pui the staff are gracious and so helpful and always at hand. Happy staff make happy customers. Stylish and well designed rooms and ours was a riverfront one which was just perfect for watching the birds and life on the river. Highly recommend and my hot tip for you is book it as early as you can to make sure you get a chance to experience the tranquility it offers.

We returned to Baan Rim Nam after a few years (obligatory covid) brake . The things that were good before and made us come back are still perfect, quiet location in the "armpit" of the river and the sea, a lovely wooden terrace on the river for drinking morning coffee and reading a book, free canoes for little adventures, well-functioning wifi, really nice staff, who makes you feel like you've come for a visit to someones home and not for paid accommodation, and of course owner Ian, from whom you can always get tips and help, whether you want to go hiking, eat or see the sights. The biggest change is that instead of the former five rooms, there are now four completely renovated rooms. The two-bedroom family room is, simply put, really good. Very clean, really comfortable bed and excellent linens, pillows and blankets, the bathroom is functional, and their shower soap is absolutely wonderful!! It's nice to get fruit from the village and other small snacks for the fridge, and you can prepare your daily coffee in the small but functional kitchen. And if you need your daily dose for Netflix, there is big tv for that. We couldn't have wished for anything more, the week as guests of Ian and the staff went by way too quickly.  We walked to the village in about 20 minutes, there is a nice bakery and enough different places to eat every night of the week. After the meal, it's easy to grab a taxi from the street and return to paradise. Nearby, a few minutes' walk away, there is a good sandy beach and the Palm Beach restaurant, which offers good food and cocktails, is definitely worth checking out. If you are looking for a place with bars and parties around all the time, this is not the place for you. If, on the other hand, you enjoy a high-class room, a small resort and its relaxed atmosphere, you like to sit with a drink on the terrace and watch life on the river, go to the village to eat and take canoe trips, you couldn't make a better choice:) Baan Rim Nam does not have a restaurant, but you can have simple breakfast to start your day :) 

This guesthouse is amazing. It is located in a natural mangrove next to a beautiful river. The view from the spacious shared patio is breathtaking. My room was very comfortable. It had all the amenities of a luxury hotel, including a large TV with netflix and a beautiful bathroom with a strong shower. The free-to-use kayaks and SUP boards were a lovely feature that we very much enjoyed. I was further impressed that during an 8 hour island wide blackout, there was still power in the guesthouse. The staff, Pui and Mei, were always kind and helpful. True to Thai hospitality. All that for a very reasonable price.

Absolutely amazing place! Newly refurbished the room was amazing. Bathroom was lovely with a great shower. The location was fab right on the water and we loved being able to use the kayaks, canoes and paddleboards. The owner gave us great tips on places to eat and a local cooking class which was also fab. We had a great stay 😊

AH...this is the place i dream of. The place is so clean, relaxing, quiet, and the staff, amazing. Hubby needs a Songtaw to get to town, and they would call one up anytime we needed them. They looked after us like we were family..always there if we needed anything. The staff keeps the decks, rooms and everything so clean.The honor system of the items in the cooler, (beer, water, drinks) is so nice, no one does that!! You can use the paddle boards, SUP, kayaks anytime, and with me...the staff came out to make sure that i got up (first time) and kept an eye out for me. The place is so quiet, in a fishing village, sitting on the deck, watching life go by, is just an amazing feeling. The walkway in is a tropical jungle and i have to check out all the plants each time we walk in. There is the BEST beach restaurant just a short walk from BNR, and the food! Each night we walked down there, why go anywhere else. We had two family rooms, right on the deck. They are outfitted with all new appliances, and large frig, so we could bring fruit and pastries back from town and enjoy during the day.Totally decked out with everything you could possibly need. Have to thank Ian and his group for one of the most enjoyable visits we have ever had (we love to stay here) and can't wait to go back. When we left, everyone came outside where the car picks you up, and said goodbye with pictures. Very hard to leave...see you all next time, and a big thank you...xoxoxo

Amazing bungalows facing onto the river. So relaxing and most helpful staff. Huge amount of space with separate living area. Was the best hotel of our total stay :-)

We stayed here as a family of 5 adults in the 2 family rooms, and we all loved our stay here. Ian and his staff are super helpful and friendly. The guesthouse is tucked away from the main road, but this was perfect for relaxing. A sandy beach was a short walk away. The rooms are modern & clean and has everything you'd need. The outdoor patio was great for watching the fisherman go by. The canoes and kayaks provided were also handy to get to the north side of the beach and even eat at restaurants on the opposite side of the river! Along the road between the guesthouse and the main road, beware of the monkeys. For those unfamiliar with monkeys (like us), do not carry back food in see-through bags.

Top,place if your looking for peace and quiet. At a very nice and scenic location at the river host Ian provides you with luxurious rooms overlooking the river. He and his staaf make sure you have everything you need.

Baan Rim Nam was a lovely place to be. The surrounding was very beautiful. The room was also nice and clean. There was nothing missing. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. They helped us all the time and gave us good tipps. We would book there every time again.

Ian(the owner) is amazing and he was helpful from the minute I booked the hotel. The place is magical and the ladies that work there are really really sweet. we had an amazing time and my kids really enjoyed the sups and the kayaks.

I didn't plan to stay here but another booking fell through and there was a room free at Baan Rim Nam. So glad I took it. Exceptional value, super helpful owner and friendly staff. It'll be my regular bolt hole from Bangkok life now. It was just a short stay but I took a paddle up the river and ran on the deserted beach nearby. Then 15 minute walk to the local village for dinner. Fortunately the rain mostly held off, but as there's Netflix in the room I didn't mind a late morning waiting for the sun to come out.

We like everything! It was like a paradise in mangrove forest. Room is big, very comfortable and everything was made with attraction to details. Everybody was very friendly. You can take kayak and travel along the river. There are two beaches nearby. It's a little bit far to the village but it's not a problem if you like to walk or you have your own transport.

We stayed at the River room for 3 nights in June. It felt like home. We could not do much in Koh Chang due to the persistent rain. But we had no issues staying in the room to watch Netflix, lazing at the “Marina” on the bean bags, or sitting at the balcony. It was very relaxing. My wife and I enjoyed kayaking on the river, and seeing the birds and the little animals in the mangrove. If you are lucky, you get to enjoy Mimi’s hot homemade coconut dessert. Kudos to Ian and his staff for making our experience at Koh Chang and stay at Baan Rim Nam, an excellent one.

we can only echo all of the previous reviews. we stayed for 7 nights and the accommodation has everything you need and the people there are so super friendly. it feels you are staying with family. our 2 year old daughter enjoyed walking around, saying hi to everyone, including the animals and the beds where the best we had on our 6 weeks travel. we can only recommend this place! and yes no restaurant but plenty of good places around and you can take take-away and eat it in the lovely common area so it didn’t bother us. and their coffee is amazing!!

The rooms are new, extremely clean, spacious and very comfortable. One of the best beds we've found in Thailand :) The place is beautiful, quiet and very relaxing. Free kayaks / sup boards / canoe what makes the trips to the beach or to the nearby restaurants very special (go for a little evening ride on the river, we loved it!). The staff are sweet and helpful. Fast and stable wifi to work + available netflix account. Great value for the price, one of the best stays!

I cannot say enough about how perfect Baan Rim Nam is — location, owners, staff, setting. All of it was flawless during our stay. The setting on the estuary is so peaceful, yet everything you could desire — beach, shops, restaurants, even the local Muay Thai training camp — are all within walking distance. Ian the owner is brilliant and full of knowledge about what to see and do, and how and when to experience it, and his staff is lovely, kind, friendly and helpful. I’ll never stay anywhere else again on Koh Chang, that’s for sure. During this trip I did spend several days at a popular resort in Kai Bae, and while it was quite nice, nothing compared to the gorgeous energy of BRN!

Best place we stayed at during our months long family trip through Southeast Asia. Just like the previous reviewers describe it. The bungalows are spacious. Very comfortable. With TV's (Netflix included). But the best thing; it's right at the river, with a short paddle to beautiful beaches. When it's high tide you can jump in the river right from the deck. We booked for 6 nights but ended up staying one week more. Our kids got a box with toys to play with. What can i say more.. thanks a lot!

Baan Rim Nam is an amazing little guest house. The location is perfect, on the estuary and a few minutes walk or paddle to the beach. Very peaceful. The rooms are very modern and tasteful. Comfy bed. Television with Netflix. Rainfall shower. staff are so attentive- nothing too much trouble - wet bags for kayak, beach towels and mats. Mosquito repellent. The maid knew what we needed before we did. I cannot recommend this place enough. Hopefully we will be back. ps Lemon massage on the main road is excellent

This was by far the best place we have stayed in Asia over the past 3 months. The setting alongside the sleepy river, the rooms (family 1), the facilities and of course Ian and his wife and the lovely lady who looked after us. She could not do enough to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The breakfast was excellent, we were provided with beach towels and something waterproof to sit on; there were paddle boards, kayaks and canoes. Wi-Fi rect is excellent. They will ask the boat to collect you if you wish to eat at any of the restaurants on the opposite side of the river. There is a great restaurant and bar just 5 mins walk away overlooking the beach which was excellent. we hired bicycles in the village (15-20 min walk) and used them in the evening and to reach the waterfall etc. I would not hesitate to highly recommend Baan Rim Nam.

The most incredible place to stay. The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. If you need anything they are there for you. Ian can advise you on all the places to go, eat, visit locally. Free to use Kayaks, SUP’s straight from the property visiting a small island off the coast and seeing the sunset. The rooms are extremely well equipped and the most comfortable of our trip. We had such a memorable time, loved every moment and will hopefully return one day.

Baan Rim Nam is riverside nestled in the mangroves which remain undisturbed and keep the air cool and sweet. Ian and his team, Maam, Pui and Mimi are friendly and helpful as can be. The property is top notch and spotless. All furniture and fixtures high end. Paddleboards and kayaks are an added bonus. We wouldn't change a thing. PS my name is Ron, not Tracy

It would be nice if they had a restaurant but there are several delightful options. It is a short 5 minute walk to a nice beach restaurant. You can order from across the river and have your meal delivered by boat or you can take a complimentary pontoon taxi to the seafood restaurant. All good.

We stayed for 8 nights, in what I can only describe as a little slice of paradise. We had a family room, with a fantastic view of the river, which was beautiful. The rooms were really well laid out with extremely comfortable beds. I really enjoyed the setting within the trees and the fact we could use the kayaks to paddle down to the beach for the day. Equally, a 2 minute walk took you to an amazing beach bar with great food and drink and was ideal to watch the sunset. Our host Ian really knows Koh Chang and wider Thailand, which was extremely useful. I cannot rate this accommodation highly enough and I found we didn't really need to go anywhere else as it was totally relaxing where we were. Would I stay again? 100% yes!

Ian, Pui and the team are amazing - this is a slice of luxury at hugely reasonable prices. The location means that there is peace and quiet to relax, no matter what time of day - whilst just a stones-throw from all of your life essentials. Ian’s time in Thailand meant that we had experience and knowledge on-tap - making the whole journey stress-free and painless (much welcomes after a 48-hour journey). The rooms are new and extremely clean - we didn’t see a single insect and all of the mod cons are great. Netflix for those rainy evenings in. As with all builds in Koh Chang, the walls can be quite thin, so the fact that guests remain quiet throughout stays really does help the tranquility and vibe. We wouldn’t hesitate to return!

One of the most beautiful and peaceful place I have every stayed at. The location is perfect with just a short canoe “ride” to a pristine, beautiful Beach. It is about a 10-15 walk to the main road but Ian and his crew can easily book a taxi to pick you up at the door. There is a quaint little family owned restaurant like 2 min away which is right on the ocean. they have kayaks available which we took out to watch the sunrise. With only 4 rooms you felt very much at home especially since the two staff member made sure you had every thing you needed

Everything was beyond our expectations: - Ian (the host) was very helpful, and organised our scooters rental and boat transfer - the room was new and clean, with a very comfy bed, nice TV with Netflix, good Wifi and big shower - the patio is on the water and it's very relaxing and peaceful - kayak are free to use

After four days we had to leave, we wanted to stay longer!

Our experience at Baan Rim Nan guesthouse was perfect from start to finish. We loved its position on the river and there were plenty of places to eat nearby, some in the village about a 10 minute walk away and others on the river and on the beach. Our room, Mangrove, was the only one without a view (we knew this, it's cheaper) but the communal deck area is so spacious and little used, we just sat there when we wanted to look at the beautiful river view and passing boats. We loved borrowing the kayaks and canoes to paddle upriver for a swim or down to the beach for breakfast. The room itself was superbly fitted with everything you could need all at a very high standard. The bed was huge and comfortable, the bathroom beautifully appointed and there was so much space. Ian, his wife and his small staff are delivering a high quality experience at a very reasonable rate and I recommend Baan Rim Nam to anyone wanting a peaceful stay in a beautiful location.
