Nature House

The hosts of the hotel… They are just too sweet. The property is very clean with the most beautiful architectural building I’ve been to in the whole of Sri Lanka. The same care the hosts have for the Hotel, they have for their guests. We felt very welcome and taken care of. The pool is beautiful, the location is perfect for the Udawalawe National Park and the prices are very reasonable.

Everything was perfect!! Large room and bathroom. Nice touches like Kleenex! Sparkling clean. Beautiful pool. And nice balcony to enjoy the forest view. But honestly even outside I wasn’t bitten by any mosquitoes. But there is a mosquito net on the bed. Which is nice. Comfy bed! Hit water. Everything was perfect. Short walk to the elephant transit station and the kind owner will organize you a jeep safari within an hour. Which I highly recommend. It was even better than the one I did in sigiriya.

La chambre était impeccable, tout était propre et confortable. Nous avons profité de la piscine lors de notre arrivée et c’était très agréable. Le rice & curry sous forme de buffet le soir était délicieux de même que le déjeuner le lendemain. Nous avions pris le safari de 4h qui débutait à 6h00 et à notre retour nous avons pris le déjeuner, tout était parfaitement organisé. Le safari était incroyable également et notre guide a répondu à toutes nos questions et était très respectueux des animaux. Je recommande sans hésiter.

One of the nicest, kind and well run hotels we have stayed in Sri Lanka. Do not hesitate to book. Great curry for dinner and excellent driver for the safari. Try and stay for two nights if you can. Very clean pool,perfect for a swim after the early morning safari.

Außerordentlich sauber, große, hochwertig und durchdacht ausgestattete Zimmer. Super Pool, sehr gute Klimaanlage. Die Safari wurde vom Hotel organisiert und war auch spitze. Abends gab es Rice and Curry Buffet, das super lecker war. Sehr nette, zuvorkommende, liebenswerte Gastgeber.

Uns hat es im Nature House sehr gefallen. Alles hat gestimmt, super herzliche Gastgeber, alles war extrem gepflegt und sauber. Der Blick vom Balkon ins Grüne ist wunderschön. Frühstück und Abendessen werden sehr liebevoll zubereitet und alles hat vorzüglich geschmeckt. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt.

Tutto perfetto. Lo staff incredibilmente gentile e pronto a soddisfare ogni esigenza. La camera grande e pulita, il cibo buonissimo anche se piccante(ma si sono offerti di preparare qualcosa per il bambino). Il safari organizzato direttamente dalla struttura è stato meraviglioso e il nostro driver preparato e simpatico. L'hotel che ho preferito in tutta la vacanza.

Super Unterkunft für eine Safari im Udawalawe Park! Wir hatten einen super Fahrer! Das Hotel war auch sehr schön, vor allem auch der Pool!

3% für Kartenzahlung muss nicht sein. Wir hatten leider nicht genug Bargeld dabei.

Nature House è stato probabilmente il miglior hotel in cui abbiamo soggiornato durante tutto il nostro viaggio in Sri Lanka, e considerando che ci siamo trovati benissimo in ogni struttura, questo dice davvero tanto! La struttura è curatissima in ogni dettaglio, immersa nel verde e nella tranquillità. Il proprietario e tutta la sua famiglia sono persone meravigliose: super gentili, disponibili e soprattutto attentissime a ogni esigenza degli ospiti. Ci siamo sentiti accolti e coccolati fin dal primo momento. La piscina è semplicemente incantevole, immersa nella giungla e circondata dalla natura. Un luogo davvero speciale dove rilassarsi e godersi la pace del posto. La colazione è stata buonissima, ricca e abbondante, con tantissima scelta. Abbiamo inoltre cenato presso la struttura, provando sia il menù à la carte che il buffet, e siamo rimasti senza parole: tutto davvero delizioso e preparato con grande cura. Abbiamo anche prenotato il safari a Udawalawe direttamente tramite la struttura e non potevamo fare scelta migliore. Abbiamo optato per il safari all’alba e la nostra guida è stata semplicemente fantastica: estremamente esperta, preparata e attenta, è riuscita a farci vedere tantissimi animali e a vivere un’esperienza che resterà per sempre nei nostri ricordi. È stata senza dubbio una delle esperienze più belle della nostra vita. Consigliamo Nature House con tutto il cuore!

Everything was excellent. Good location the rooms facing a forest. Very calming and soothing just sitting there watching it. Food was marvellous. The owner of the property couldn’t do enough for us. Absolutely everything was excellent.

Echt een fantastische plek! De kamers zijn ruim, comfortabel en brandschoon. De accommodatie ligt schitterend midden in de natuur en het zwembad is heerlijk. Maar bovenal maken de eigenaar, zijn familie en het personeel deze plek bijzonder. Hun gastvrijheid, vriendelijkheid en persoonlijke aandacht zijn echt uitzonderlijk. Je voelt je hier meteen welkom en thuis. Een prachtige plek waar we met heel veel plezier hebben verbleven. Absoluut een aanrader!

Everything, the staff were so friendly and helpful, the owner was lovely, rooms were comfortable, great outdoor balcony with chairs and hammock. Big pool. We had dinner at the property which was delicious as was breakfast that they were happy to do after we returned from safari. And so cheap.

That we only got to spend one night

Everything. The service was so lovely and thoughtful. The food was absolutely fantastic. The rooms were so great. The pool was genuinely the best one I’ve ever been in. Perfect depth and the water was so nice and not too cold or hot. I’ll recommend this place and the amazing people here over and over.

Habitación muy limpia, La zona de la piscina genial (parece que te estás bañando en medio de la jungla), El restaurante muy bueno (camarero muy simpático y raciones abundantes y ricas). Personal muy amable. Hicimos el safari con ellos, y fue una muy buena experiencia!

Beautiful spot; the Nature House is off the main road in a quiet area, surrounded by forest (and birds). Big pool to cool off, and the rooms are large, meticulously clean and well maintained. We actually thought the bathrooms were newly done (but that was couple years ago). Looks all brand new. Nice eating area and the very friendly staff organised a curry/evening in buffet style. Worth your visit.

We absolutely adored everything about this hotel. The family running it are incredible - delicious homemade buffet dinners and breakfasts, fresh juices. - super knowledgeable and truly passionate about the local birdlife and wildlife. - the balcony views onto the garden surrounding the property are perfect for animal spotting /birdwatching,and it all feels harmonious, sensitive and responsive to the setting. - the owner was incredibly thoughtful in checking up on my mother who had a fever and cough - the pool is perfect, clean and with sun and shady spots around it. - the room was huge and well equipped with fridge, freezer compartment, storage space and new mosquito nets. - the father/owner was super helpful with any logistical / travel support and excursions without being pushy - delicious fresh lassi! - it’s a short walk to nearby minimarts etc if you need something, and super close to the elephant transit home and the national park We all wished we could stay longer/live there!

Very close to Udawalawe National Park. Nature house run their own jeep service for the safari which was excellent- our driver was knowledgeable about all the animals and birds we saw. The staff at the property made us feel so welcome and were absolutely amazing. The food was amazing as well. Our room got upgraded which was a lovely supprise and it was comfortable and spacious with everything we needed for our two day stay. The pool was a lovely way to cool off and relax. If you are wanting to do the Udawalawe safari- 100% stay here, you’ll have the best experience.

Cannot recommend Nature House enough, the hosts are beyond welcoming, friendly and also so funny and chatty, the pool was exactly what we needed after a lot of travelling since we arrived in Sri Lanka. The food was 10/10 and it was lovely to have everything you need onsite, it was also the nicest room we’ve had since being here and had a lovely balcony. They also arranged an amazing safari for us with a really friendly and knowledgeable driver

La chambre était magnifique. Ils m’ont surclassée car il y avait peu de monde lors de mon séjour. Très belle vue sur la piscine et la vue directe du balcon sur les arbres offre un spectacle incroyable sur la vie des animaux qui y habitent. Le propriétaire est très gentil et serviable. Il a organisé mon safari et m’a raccompagnée à l’arrêt de bus en tuk-tuk le lendemain. La cuisine est bonne et copieuse. De plus, la piscine est un vrai plus pour se rafraîchir. Excellent rapport qualité/prix. Je recommande !

The staff were brilliant, particularly the host. They couldn't have done a better job at making us feel at home. The property is well maintained, very clean and stylish. The decor is lovely and we really liked the hammock outside the rooms. The pool was spacious and nothing overlooked it so it felt really private. If you visit, you must have the food there! It is exquisite. We are sad to have only spent one night there - we will be back!!

This is a little gem tucked away with wonderful owners, great home cooking and delightful environment. We like the down to earth comfort and the pool is lovely. Cold beers by the pool, the curry dinner was delcious and the sense of warmth from the family is lovely. We chose this place so it would be close to do our Elephant Safri with udawalaweethicalsafari and it was a good decision. It's a cost effective and wonderful place to stay.

Verbleven hier 2 nachten met 2 koppels van 40 en 60. Duidelijk eigenaar die hier woont en bezig is met het super onderhouden van gans de accommodatie. Zeer goede keuken,hebben hier ontbeten en gedineerd. Goed en groot zwembad .

Tout était parfait. On a été super bien accueillis, l’hôtel est très propre et les chambres super bien équipées et grandes. La piscine est super on en a profité durant les deux jours. Ils nous ont proposé d’organiser le safari et le prix était super avantageux et le guide était génial. Je vous conseille de goûter leurs pancakes au petit déjeuner ! Merci au responsable il a été très arrangeant et disponible pour nous. Je recommande à 100% cet hôtel.

Het personeel is ontzettend vriendelijk en denken goed met je mee. Zo werd er meteen geld voor de tuktuk voorgeschoten toen we geen kleindgeld hadden en toen we aangaven dat we graag wilden wisselen ging de zoon (denk ik) voor ons bellen om de wisselkoers na te vragen en hij legde uit waar we moesten zijn. Het avondeten is prima. Ook het zwembad was heerlijk. De budgetkamer heeft een uitstekende prijs kwaliteit verhouding.

Super freundliches Personal, Safari über die Unterkunft ist zu empfehlen. Die Anlage ist ein absoluter Traum! Uns ist der Abschied definitiv schwer gefallen.

Hôte très sympa, il nous aide pour organiser le safari, transport... Les chambres sont correctes, il pleuvait et on n'a pas pu tester la piscine. Mais super séjour.

Notre chambre était spacieuse, propre, agréable. L'accueil était excellent, le propriétaire est totalement dévoué au bien-être de ses clients. Nous y avons réservé notre excursion au parc d'Uda Walawe, le prix était très avantageux et l'organisation était excellente. Nous avons également réservé un massage que nous avons apprécié. L'emplacement est idéal car proche de la rue où se trouvent divers restaurants.

We loved The Nature House! Set back well off the busy road and surrounded by jungle this family run boutique hotel is a gem! The rooms are large and stylish and the common areas are spotless with lovely loungers on the verandahs. The whole place speaks of the owners many years of hospitality experience. Thilak was charming and efficient. If you want a relaxing and well run base in Udawalawe you should book The Nature House.

- No need to go anywhere off site as it had all the facilities. - Worth checking our the Baby Elephant Sanctuary nearby. - Staff were very friendly and the elephant tour was amazing.

Hands down this was the best place that we stayed in during our 3 weeks in Sri Lanka. The staff were amazing! Friendly and very helpful arranging a safari for us as well as assisting us with a driver for our onward journey. The food was Superb and the pool was an added bonus!

The location of this place was stunning and the pool was really lovely. All of the staff were so nice and helpful and the dinners were delicious in the evenings. We did their 4 hour safari tour in the park and it was really great value and an amazing experience!

We had the most amazing stay at nature house. The hotel owner is so lovely and so helpful! We did the safari via the hotel which was very good. The dinner and breakfast was delicious. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. An all round amazing stay!!!

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Nature House! When we arrived, we were greeted by our kind, welcoming host (Thilak), who then showed us to our rooms whilst also helpfully bringing up our cases. Our rooms had functional air conditioning, which helped us to cool down after a long day. There were many top quality facilities at Nature House, including a large swimming pool with sunbeds all around for towels (supplied) and general relaxing. There was also a wonderful restaurant which we enjoyed dinner and breakfast at during our stay, there was a variety of foods and drinks served and the polite waiting staff ensured that everyone had something they enjoyed! The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable to sleep in, and there was a helpful net that kept any insects out. Breakfast in the morning was lovely, and all in all, we had an amazing stay!

The WiFi could have been a bit faster, but it wasn't a big issue.

I don’t remember the last time I gave a 10/10 reviews… This was an exceptional experience. They went out of their way to cater for every need, from organizing safaris and transfers to providing bananas. You should stay here if you are in the area. Gorgeous pool with jungle views. Comfortable bed. Delicious and plentiful breakfast. Also very good dinner (we had the a la carte menu). Good pillows and bed. Very good communication. We did morning and evening safari with them and were very happy with the guide (the evening is 100% better if you only have time for one). We also used their transport service to Weligama, which was very good, too. Bring a mosquito repellent.

The bed was squeaky. Would have appreciated more counter space in the bathroom. Apart from that, everything was perfect for us, would happily stay here again.
