The garden was amazing, it was lush, serene and inhabited by wildlife . The host was very welcoming and helpful.

Scam - they require you to book a safari with them, otherwise they cancel your reservation.

This was the only place that didn’t scam you if you don’t book a safari with them, so we 100% recommend (even if you arrange the safari with them of course). The staff was really welcoming. The room was spacious and comfortable with AC. The hotel was immersed in nature which was really pleasant.

The stay is amazing. One of the best i have stayed in srilanka. Very value for money , has all the necessary things. Very clean. It has a huge natural garden which is like heaven. Just 8 to 10 km from safari place. Owner can arrange for safari as well. The food is very good. Owner is very helpful

The room had everything we needed from AC, to mini fridge, hot water coming fast and the mosquito net.

Wir können das Walawa Blue Sapphire von ganzem Herzen empfehlen. Toller Besitzer, super nette Mitarbeiter, eine schöne Unterkunft in einem wundervollen Garten. Wir haben erst am Vorabend gebucht, weil wir in der ursprünglich gebuchten Unterkunft Schwierigkeiten mit dem Besitzer hatten, der nicht einverstanden war, dass wir unsere Safaritour bereits organisiert hatten und uns mit Nachrichten bombardiert hat. Im Walawa Blue Sapphire war das überhaupt kein Problem. Wir waren sehr früh da und unser Familienzimmer war noch nicht fertig, also bekamen wir nach einem Willkommensdrink ein anderes Zimmer, in dem wir uns aufhalten konnten. Dazu gab es einen großen Teller mit Sandwiches, der uns später nicht berechnet wurde. Das Personal ist sehr kinderfreundlich und hat uns mehrere Tiere auf dem großen Gelände gezeigt. Als wir festgestellt haben, dass wir die Safari für das falsche Datum gebucht haben, haben sie uns innerhalb von 30 min einen super Guide zu einem mehr als fairen Preis organisiert und uns so den Tag gerettet. Das Abendessen und das Frühstück waren großartig und das Tuk Tuk zum Elephant Transit Home wurde von der Unterkunft gesponsert. Die Auswahl an Unterkünften in Udawalawe ist groß und es fällt mitunter schwer, sich für die Richtige zu entscheiden. Wer das Walawa Blue Sapphire wählt, hat definitiv alles richtig gemacht!

L’accoglienza è stata speciale. Il personale è stato estremamente gentile e disponibile. Il posto è immerso nel verde e nella natura ed è molto suggestivo. Perfetto per rilassarsi e godersi al massimo l’esperienza. La possibilità di fare il safari con loro all’alba è stata speciale, come il pranzo che ci hanno preparato. Il servizio privato dei driver ci ha aiutato negli spostamenti.

Set in its own well crafted garden down a quiet lane. We stayed in the family bungalow and dulux double. Both rooms comfortable and with verandas. Great food for breakfast, lunch and dinner cooked by the family. We undertook a 3km walk on largely quiet local lanes to see a huge Flying Fix colony take flight for the night at dusk. Took a Pick-Me back. Blue Sapphire can put you in touch with a great guide for Uda Walawe and send you off in your safari jeep with a packed breakfast. Also helped in arranging onward transport. All great value too for the quality of the rooms and ambience.

Amazing place with beautiful surroundings in the jungle. The staff was amazing and helpful. They arranged a safari at a fair price (26 dollars + entrance fee) and ordered us a free ride to the bus station. We were really happy with the stay here, especially because we read online, that som hotels try to scam you with cheap hotels and forces bookings of overpriced safaris. The safari was amazing as well. We saw many elephants, often alone without any other jeeps. Furthermore the host packed us a nice breakfast to bring on the safari.

Delightful family who made us feel so welcome and nothing was too much, went above and beyond all the time. Super clean accommodation, great location & amazing staff. The dinner they cooked us was so delicious & breakfast prepared by 5.30am to take on Safari was lovely too. Highly recommend to others.

It seriously was the absolute best stay I had in all sri lanka. The air conditioning is very strong, the water gets warm, and the staff is incredible in making sure you have the best stay possible. The safari they can arrange for you is a great price. Furthermore, some to note, is that all their food and dinners are made from ingredients from their own garden. Absolutely no artificial flavors and some of the best meals I had. I couldn't recommend this resort enough

The staff was very friendly and cooperative. They freshly prepared vegetarian food for us. It was very tasty. The room was clean and tidy. The environment of this resort was very peaceful. Highly recommend this for all.

This is a very peaceful resort set amongst the forest. Although we only stayed one night we could tell that the staff and owners really took pride in the place and in providing amazing hospitality. The rooms are comfortable. The breakfast and dinner were spectacular. They catered for us as vegans and made the best kottu we have tried in Sri Lanka. They told us all about the plants and the fruits on the grounds, and generally went above and beyond for us. We could not understand why this place did not have more reviews and guests. We can only guess that there is a lot of competition in Udawalawa but this place is extremely underrated and should not be overlooked.

The staff were so friendly and it’s a homely atmosphere. Dinner was very tasty, we had the chicken Kottu with potato curry! The rooms are clean and spacious with air conditioning.

Wow! What an awesome please to stay. We were greeted with a fresh coconut during the check in process before being taken to our double room. The room was lovely, the bed was comfortable and the AC was good. The building is set in the property’s garden which is filled with traditional Sri Lankan medicinal plants and you feel like you are in the jungle. They have an incredible restaurant on site too where you can have home cooked dinner. We had chicken kottu and it was served with a delicious potato curry, something we hadn’t tried before. This really elevated the dish. They also prepared a picnic for us to take on safari the next morning! If you’re going to do a safari in the Udawalawe National Park, stay here!

Very friendly staff, we had a great time, they shared a lot of interesting and fun stories about Sri Lanka. Great garden with 110 ayurvedic trees and plants. We ended up staying longer than initially planned. In the morning, you'll get to hear Beethoven's "Für Elise", the signature sound of the Tuc Tuc bakery, which offers sweet snacks and swings by regularly.

Lucky (the manager) is the man you need for everything that you want. He is really a great person, so I totally recommend you staying in this accommodation. Everything is nice and clean and the value for money is perfect. Also, you should order food there. The host cooks like a goddess. Totally recommend this accommodation. They can also help with the safari.

The room was comfortable with a lovely terrance to enjoy, emerged in the jungle and nature - it was a great experience! The staff were very kind and welcoming, we were given a complimentary welcome drink on arrival, then they offered to cook us dinner which we agreed to as heavy rain was forecast. The food was INCREDIBLE. They asked us what we wanted, and they prepared it freshly for us - there was a great selection of curries and Kottu on offer, but sadly we couldn’t finish it all. Would strongly recommend eating here too! Excellent

what an amazing place in the middle of the jungle! the hosts are super friendly and helpful. the rooms have a good working A/C which gives you a nice cool room for an excellent sleep. yes there are no mosquito nets but keep the door open as short ad possible only and no annoying bugs can enter the room. the landscaping atound the condos is superb and done with love. from the balcony you can watch the wildlife in the trees - amazing!we can highly recommend to have dinner there..the vegetable kottu was excellent. we would definitely stay here again!

A great place to stay, staff were all very lovely. Greeted with a drink on arrival. Dinner was amazing. Place was lovely and clean. Sitting outside I managed to come across monkeys passing through the trees, big squirrels and many birds

Mosquito net in our rooms would have been great but absolutely nothing else!

Mosquitos everywhere. Could do with a mosquito net. No kettle in the room so could not make tea/coffee ourselves.

This place is a hidden gem. In the middle of jungle it provides all the comfort you need - free WiFi in the room, private bathroom with strong water pressure (which i learnt not to take for granted in Sri Lanka), A/C and a little fridge, privacy and breakfast which is delicious and could feed a small village. The manager is very welcoming and helpful and tries to meet your every need. As a bonus you get to watch animals like squirrels and turtles just roaming around freely. Great value for money!

Sri Lanka's hospitality at its finest. The whole team is amazing. We got welcome drink and also a drink after safari. The food was delicious for a good price. They even made us a nice breakfast package for the safari. The location is perfect with a huge garden where you can chill. The Safari tour was perfect. When we were leaving we asked about a bus stop nearby and we got a free ride there immediately, appreciated it. Thank you!

Udawalawe town not worth seeing at all, not even try restaurants.

Although I did not do the elephant tour, the hotel have the jeep so you can organise the elephant safari experience directly from the owner. I enjoyed the jungle. You can see many exotic birds just outside the door to your room. Delicious breakfast. Great service. Comfortable and clean stay. Has AC, fan, soap, plug exchange, mosquito net, clean bathroom. Surrounded by jungle, peaceful and tranquil. Value for money.

Big confortable room, clean and well maintained bathroom, and amazing location. You feel like sleeping in the wilderness. The host is super nice and helpful. It exceeded our expectation on this budget price. 100% recomended. They also arange safaris.

Great location to be able to walk to the town for restaurants, shops and view points. They organised a jeep safari tour for us at a very reasonable price for 5-6 hours tour and the guide was fantastic and took us to see wildlife without all the other hundreds of jeeps. The gardens were beautifully kept and felt like you were in the jungle. Food was okay and room was basic but had everything we needed, good value for money.

WiFi wasn’t great but that didn’t really matter to us!

The Accommodation: -The place is super nice, calm and sourrounded by nature - it had a nice garden with fishes - the welcome was warm with a cup of tea - the family who runs this place is super friendly and will help you with everything ( they helped me to get to the atm and to the bus stop) - they offer food for a fair price (for the spice lovers, it wont be spicy) - the room is nice, clean and have Ac as well as a mosquito net, the bed is comfortable. -Outside of your room. You can sit and obsetve the nature Other services/safari: - family has a safari jeep and offers safari - the tour included a piknic basquet with tea, drinks and small sacks

The Accommodation: - lots of mosquitos and sometimes a bug in the room ( but sincen this pllace is in the forsest. That is normal) Other services/safari - the safari cists me around 8000 lkr which didnt include the park entry nor a guide ( they didnt inform me what was not included ) - the father of the family was driving - the tour started later then usual tour arround 7 and went straight to the park ( changes has been made on the day it self), it got really warm and a little crowded - skmetimes the driver didnt stop when i asked to, hr might could nit here me. also didnt seem to be the best spotter, rather asked other drivers where to see animals, also he has not the best English - i had the jeep for myself since i was the only guest at the time ( seems like all accomandations organize their own tour which results in a lot of jeeps with only 1 or 2 persons) Personally I didnt like the safari experience and wouldn't do it again. Watching elephants sorrounded by jeeps diesnt seem ethical.

The 22 year old son doesn’t speak English very well (yet) so there have been some misunderstandings. Also the breakfast could be improved a bit. A simple omelette and better coffee would help.

I am traveling alone and spent 4 days here in this wonderful place. This nature experience here is so extraordinary in the middle of quiet nature, so many different trees, many birds and several also ayurvedic plants. You will find Cardamom-,Cinnamon-,Pepper,-Curryleaves-,Cacaoplants and many others. You can relax here so wonderfully, but also go directly with their car from here on Safari. The rooms are clean, well air conditioned, so nice Veranda and delicious authentic Sri Lankan food is prepared. It is definitely worth spending several days with this so heartworming family who help in every opportunity….
