Location was great, close to nicest beach around. And Dutch lady Fleur was a charm!

Bed was hard. Owner seemed a bit grumpy at first, but could be a nice guy when talking a bit. There was no breakfast, in contrast with what booking mentioned!

Our favourite place in Sri Lanka so far. A great little hut of sorts, with a private bathroom and a porch overlooking a lush garden. Super close to the beach, restaurants and other spots. The hosts are welcoming and the type of people you’d want to get a beer with

Like a lot of the reviews, consider the AC if there’s room in the budget because it gets a tad roasting. You can hear the bass from the DJ at the beach at night, so bring earplugs

We had an excellent stay. The hosts were super helpful and accommodating. The location is also ideal for access to the beach, dive centres, bars etc.

Wir haben im Lobster Inn als Familie zwei Zimmer ohne Klimaanlage gebucht. Die Unterkunft ist einfach und im Backpacker-Stil, aber sehr gepflegt und angenehm. Der Besitzer war ausgesprochen nett, hilfsbereit und freundlich. Besonders schön ist der liebevoll angelegte Garten, der eine sehr entspannte Atmosphäre schafft. Die Lage ist top: In wenigen hundert Metern erreicht man viele Möglichkeiten zum Frühstücken und Essen.Für alle, die eine einfache, saubere und sympathische Unterkunft suchen, ist das Lobster Inn absolut empfehlenswert.

Homestay davvero stupendo! Curatissimo in ogni dettaglio! Camere semplici ma pulite e confortevoli e proprietario semplicemente adorabile! Disponibile e gentile! Vicinissimo al "centro" della spiaggia di Uppuveli e ai carinissimi ristorantini ma allo stesso modo in un posto più silenzioso. Consigliatissimo!!!!!!

Very beautiful and chill place to stay, especially the garden was very beautiful 🩷🌴 Location was also great because it was really close to the beach and nice bars and restaurants.

Close to the beach, we liked the whale watching/snorkelling trip which was arranged with Ceylon Whales. The garden is lovely and there are handy showers outside so you can wash off the sand before you go in your room which was great. You also get a nice outside seating area per room and a place to hang your beach towels etc. The rooms are a good size.

Our room didn't have AC, which we should have checked before booking, as it was too hot for us. The location felt quite touristy which we hadn't been expecting, a lot of touristy restaurants and was a little harder to find the good places to eat. However, Thine's restaurant recommendations were great. The pigeon island trip was a bit disappointing, very crowded and a lot of dead coral.

We had a lovely stay a little tranquil oasis. Comfortable, clean and great to have cooking facilities and a fridge. Thank you.

Nice room opening onto beautiful and well tended gardens. The staff / owners were exceptionally nice and helpful and the location is steps to the beach.

The room furnishings decor and lighting were a little quirky and basic but all functional and clean.

We werden uiterst vriendelijk ontvangen. Netjes bijgehouden tuin. Je kon heerlijk zitten voor je kamer op de veranda. Het was een grote mooie schone kamer. Klamboe aanwezig. Fijne badkamer met prima douche. Leuke locatie dichtbij het strand en dichtbij leuke restaurants. Je ontbijtje kan je bij de buren halen.

Er was niet iets wat ons niet beviel.

Super mooie tuin, met buitendouches. Heel handig als je net van het strand kwam. De kamers waren basis, maar zeer goede prijs-kwaliteit verhouding.

Heel fijn en relaxed verblijf op 1-2 minuut van het strand. De kamers zijn ruim en heel schoon. De tuin is lekker rustig en prachtig groen. De host spreekt super goed Engels en helpt bij alles wat nodig is. Er is ook nieuwe en betere wifi geïnstalleerd toen wij er waren, toch ook fijn. Ook heerlijk zijn de verschillende palmboom douches buiten om je na het zwemmen in de oceaan lekker af te spoelen. Deze tijd van het jaar is het warm, dus als je dat prettig vindt kies dan een kamer met ac of ventilator.

We really enjoyed our time at Lobster Inn! The location is fantastic, the rooms are beautiful and spotlessly clean, and the staff are incredibly nice and helpful. We were just a bit unlucky with our room, the bed frame was loose and made a lot of noise every time we moved during the night, which made it a little tough to get a good sleep. However we mentioned it to the host right away, and he was super understanding and promised to get it fixed for the next guests. Aside from that one detail, everything else was great. It's a lovely place, and with that quick fix, it’s a total 10/10! 🌊✨

Allerede da vi kom følte vi os godt modtaget. Ejeren var yderst hjælpsom med at arrangere både kørsel og hval og delfin safari. Ejeren medvirkede til at skabe en hyggelig atmosfære.

Our hosts were great and very kindly let us check in late when our travelling went awry, Thines organised a snorkeling trip to Pigeon Island which was amazing and assisted us in our travel plans after our stay. The location was perfect, close to the beach and multiple food places. The room was clean and comfy, and their garden was beautiful.

The only small issue was that the WiFi cut out occasionally but this was not really a problem.

Emplacement super près de la plage, au calme et dans un environnement, charmant, avec plein de plantes. La terrasse est très appréciable et le gérant est sympathique et peut donner pas mal de conseils. Pas de petit déjeuner sur place… Mais on peut en prendre dans des établissements tout proches.

Everything was amazing, location, friendly staff, there’s a shared kitchen for guests to use which is really handy! The owner arranged a pigeon island tour which was incredible and a reasonable price :) I also loved the hotel doggy’s who came to see us some evenings!

Very conveniently located, close to the beach and good restaurants. The staff were friendly and super helpful. They booked a snorkelling trip for me very late the day before and were very kind and patient when I couldn’t make a decision! They were also really responsive and turned the outside light off without a problem. The garden was amazing and great place to relax.

De ligging is echt wel top. Vlakbij het strand, vlakbij alle restaurantjes en toch rustig op het einde van de gezellige straat met restaurantjes. De eigenaar zorgde voor een prima uitstap naar Pigeon Island aan een heel scherpe prijs. De hutjes zijn sober maar helemaal in orde. Ook leuk: er is een keukentje met koelkast beschikbaar waar je iets kan koken. Weliswaar gedeeld met andere bezoekers.

Er mocht een koelkastje op de kamer staan. Nu konden we wel gebruik maken van een gedeelde koelkast.

Quite expensive - has the feel of a upmarket hostel but not the price of one. Having said that I think the area is expensive to stay in general

Sehr freundlicher Besitzer mit dem man viele spannende Gespräche führen kann und der einem bei allen Fragen und Angelegenheiten helfen kann. Sehr gute Lage und ein wunderschöner gepflegter Garten mit vielen kleinen Bewohnrern. Man kann gut Aktivitäten wie Snorkeling Tours oder Dolphin watching über die Unterkunft buchen was sehr entspannt und preiswert ist.

El trato es excepcional

No l único punto negativo es que si no pillas la habitación con aire acondicionado tendrás bastante calor por la noche pero por lo demás es un sitio de 10 calidad precio.

Es war traumhaft schön 🌅 die Unterkunft und vor allem die Herzlichkeit des Vermieters Thines war wundervoll. Wir haben uns richtig wohl gefühlt und Thines hat all unsere Wünsche möglich gemacht. Thines ist wirklich höchst sympathisch. Die Lage war super, kurzer Fußweg zum Meer und es war wirklich ruhig.

Es war alles perfekt, vorallem die Lage 10/10

Nous ne sommes restés qu’une heure, nous n’avons donc aucune opinion à donner.

L’accueil a été d’emblée très agressif vis-à-vis de notre ami Sri Lankais qui nous accompagne. le propriétaire s’est entêté dans une attitude agressive, ce qui apparemment est une habitude chez lui. nous avons préféré quitter l’établissement.

Très bon emplacement, à 2 minutes à pied de la plage. Les chambres sont spacieuses et propres. Thines a été de bon conseil pour des restaurants locaux et est très gentil.

Лучший отель, удивительно гостеприимный хозяин. Помог нам во всем. Организовал экскурсии и трансфер в Коломбо по отличной цене. Есть кухня и столовая со всем необходимым. Месторасположение топ, все рядом. Шикарный пляж. Особый вайб, не хочется уезжать. Спасибо огромное на помощь и гостеприимство, Thines. Вернемся снова и будем всем рекомендовать!

The Location is Amazing! So close to the gorgeous beach, in a quiet peaceful laneway & close enough to restaurants & bars. Thines is a fantastic host & so helpful.

Very nice and helpful staff. Great location. Also they have a kitchen in the garden so I could make my tea, coffee and little cooking. The room it's big with enough space. Big respect for the garden 🏡

Prachtige plek op een idyllische locatie. Je wordt warm ontvangen en heel goed verder geholpen. Ik zou het zeker aan iedereen aanbevelen om in de lobster inn te slapen!

The owner is aggressive. We booked for 6 nights and the owner at the second day came yelling that we were using too much internet, that we were selfish and that we should leave. I tried to talk to him because we couldn’t understand, but he yelled at me again to leave. Very but experience, and reading comments in google maps, it’s not the only time he is aggressive and violent

Heerlijke locatie en super vriendelijke eigenaar!

Enkel het bed lag niet super maar dit was geen groot probleem voor ons. De tuin en de gastvrije eigenaar maakten dit meer dan goed ! Ook de locatie vonden wij echt ideaal, vlakbij het strand en eetgelegenheden

Property tranquil and beautiful greenery, 1 minute walk from the beach with nice bars and things to do in the evening. Host was great, very genuine guy with lots of useful information. Property was kept absolutely spotless by the housekeeper. Some very cute, friendly dogs who stay there and we befriended

That we had to leave

We had a wonderful stay at the Lobster Inn.Thines was a wonderful host who takes great pride in providing the best service. His garden is relaxing and tranquil and the perfect place to sit in the evening. Its in a perfect location within 50 meters of the beach and Fernando's Bar. We highly recommend.

Really kind host and great location. Beds were comfortable and on-hand kitchen was very convenient.

I was in the right-hand corner room, and everything was spotless. A beautiful painting on the wall added to the experience. The garden was stunning and very well maintained, and it didn't feel like hot Trincomalee. The host, Thines, was very nice and always ready to help. It was just a 1-minute walk to the beach, where you can find nice cafes, restaurants, and friendly people.

Everything was good

This accommodation is a wonderful place! From the moment we got there, we felt super comfortable. The room was quite spacious and clean. The garden is beautiful. There’s a small table on the terrace in front of each room and a shared kitchen and fridge you can use. Located just 100m from the beach, the location is perfect!

Small thing: would be great if the room windows could be equipped with mosquito nets. However, there is one for the bed.

ALL on ground level, Location just few steps from beach, cafes, restaurants. Lovely garden setting with individual outdoor seating. Easy checkin . Helpful friendly staff. Spacious bedroom.

j'ai aimé ce havre de paix, jardin au cordeau et couleurs flashy très vacances. L'accueil de l'hote et sa gentillesse. La cuisine ouverte dans laquelle on peut faire comme à la maison m'a tout à fait convenue.

le ventileur n'est pas jeune et plutôt bruyant et la chambre sans clim fait que le confort est limité.

Spokojne miejsce w Trincomalee, otoczone pięknym ogrodem. Świetny stosunek jakości do centrum. Warunki raczej skromne, ale jest wszystko co potrzeba. Właściciel bardzo miły i świetne dogaduje się po angielsku. Do plaży 100m, w pobliżu sklep, bary, restauracje

Location is perfect. There is a kitchen and a fridge available to use. Would recommend you to consider rooms with AC, as it is impossible to air out the room with just a fan on the hot nights.

Wifi is not working all the time and is very slow. Would appreciate if the host showed everything available around the hotel during check in. I found out there is a fridge available to use only on the third day.

Totally perfect place to stay!! The host is really kind and helpful caring about all your stay. Rooms are big, clean with small touch of art which make it so cozy and all guesthouse is surrounded by beautiful plants. Nice note, this guest house has a kitchen which you can use and also is possible to refill potable water for small charge. The location is in calm place not even 1min walking to the beach and just behind the corner several restaurants with great food ( big recommendation for Ceylon Tamilan Restaurant - great local meal and juice!!). Also Fruit show just 10min walk.

Honestly, everything about this place was perfect - couldn't fault it. The host was exceptional, incredibly kind and welcoming. The place was beautiful and so serene - and the room was very comfortable. Proximity to the beach was an added plus as it was only a few minutes walk.

Lage und Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis waren absolut grandios. Sehr ruhige Lage mit dem Meer in unmittelbarer Nähe. Es gibt Shops und Restaurants für alles was man so braucht. Der Host ist super nett und hilft in jeglicher Lage wo er nur kann. Der Garten ist mit viel Liebe angelegt und gepflegt. Die Küche zum Kochen hat unseren Aufenthalt perfekt gemacht :)

Die Matratzen sind sehr dünn

Très bien situé à même pas 100m de la plage, douche extérieure pour se rincer, Thines est de bon conseil, snorkeling fantastique y compris en dehors de Pigeon Island! En debut de saison (Mars), très peu de touristes sur la plage et dans le coin !

A sweet little room with my own terrace situated in a beautiful lush garden. Comfortable bed, warm shower, good Wi-Fi. Very clean. The manager was very helpful and friendly. The guesthouse is very close to the beach and to the cafes and restaurants in the area. Very peaceful and enjoyable stay

Il proprietario è simpatico e molto disponibile, vi può dare consigli molto utili. Le camere sono immerse nel verde. C'è una cucina comune dove si può preparare una cena e un frigorifero per bevande, frutta e verdura. (Anche birre, il negozio degli alcolici è a 10minuti a piedi) La spiaggia e i ristoranti sono a due minuti a piedi.

La doccia è calda, ma la pressione dell'acqua è un po' debole. Per me non è un problema, ma è corretto segnalarlo

Highly recommend this place. You are 1’ walk from the beach. The room is spacious and very clean! they also have a basic kitchenette if you want to cook your own food.

Eine sehr schöne und hervorragend geführte Anlage mit einem schönen Garten und einer tollen Atmosphäre . Zimmer und Bad sind top sauber, nett eingerichtet und die Wände sind klasse bemalt. Sogar heißes Wasser in der Dusche.Alles ist frisch und freundlich . Das Guesthouse liegt fast am Ende der Straße in einem schön ruhigen Bereich des Ortes. Es gibt sogar eine schöne und auch saubere Küche mit Geschirr, Kochgelegenheit und Kühlschrank. Die Mitarbeiter sind wie so oft in Sri Lanka von natürlicher Freundlichkeit und hilfsbereit. Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit.
