We had a lovely stay, the rooms are spacious , clean and confortable , the air cond works well, the location is great and quiet. The owner is absolutely lovely, and gave us lots of tips for trip . We definitely recommend it .

Nimal es un encanto de persona y da muy buenas recomendaciones. La habitación estaba súper limpia y con todo lo necesario. Sitio silencioso, ideal para descansar. Se puede ir caminando al lago y todo está a 10 minutos en moto o tuktuk. Disfruté mucho y volveré

Nimal es un señor muy agradable. Nos preparó un desayuno muy completo por la mañana y tiene un jardín y una terraza súper acogedores, donde desayunamos. Y un perro muy mono!

First of all, Nimal is a wonderful, kind host with plenty of knowledge to share with his guests. The Poya weekend I was there was rather special and he gave some good tips. The location is some distance from the old city, but it's pleasantly quiet. Breakfast was very nice including chapati, toast, egg and fresh fruit.

Nimal is a great host very helpful and good English speaking. Room was a good size.A lot of mosquitoes outside (seems normal in Sri Lanka) but fine in the room. Room was very clean and quiet.

Nimal es un hombre entrañable que te ayuda en todo lo que necesites. A nosotros nos ayudó para pillar unas bicis. Habitación con aire acondicionado y agua caliente. Desayuno rico también. Por el precio muy aconsejable.

Lo único quizás que está un pelín alejado de la zona de templos, pero en bici o tuktuk se llega perfecto

Nimal es un encanto, nos hizo sentir como en casa y nos gestiono un safari y el transporte hacia trincomalee. Ademas mantuvimos conversaciones super interesantes. La habitación muy limpia y para el safari nos preparo un desayuno muy completo.

El dueño es muy amable y te ayuda con todo, desayuno y cena perfecta!

I had the pleasure of staying at Nimal’s House and meeting Nimal, a truly wonderful, kind, and welcoming person. He immediately made me feel at home with his warmth and hospitality. The breakfast he prepared was delicious and carefully made: I had the chance to try jackfruit for the very first time in my life, and I will always be grateful to him for this experience! Der Gastgeber ist sehr hilfsbereit und ein sympathischer Mensch. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Zimmer war sauber und die Lage war gut um überall hinzukommen. Ein Pluspunkt für uns: der Hund des Gastgebers war sehr freundlich und liebt es gestreichelt zu werden :D

Great place to stay for 2 nights, the breakfast included was so nice we got omelet, toast, fruit, coffee was really nice and great value. Room was nice and good air con. Nimal was such a good host even helped my friend get some glue for her glasses she broke. Was safe to park our tuk tuk inside his gated property as well. Highly recommend

We really enjoyed our stay at Nimal's Home. We felt very welcomed and Nimal gave good advice on which places to visit. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was very delicious.

Friendly Host

The host was very friendly and gave us really good recommendations.

The bed was dirty, white stains on the duvet and clearly not washed; spider webs all over the room, mold in the ceiling and in the bathroom; we didn't feel welcome by the host, he seemed to be almost bothered by our arrival since he was on a birthday party; the place looked very different from the pictures.

Cozy small room, have hot water, air conditioner, thick blanket, a jug of drinking water, and also basic toiletries like shampoo. It was one of the most comfortable accommodations I stayed at in Sri Lanka.

Host is great. You won't feel him until you need anything then he suddenly appears like magic, so nice and helpful. Room is clean and everything is well thought of. Best value for money!

Nimal's location is just south of the new town. The facilities are v.good value for money. When we arrived he made us a pot of tea and answered our questions in how best to visit the sites. The breakfasts were good , omelette, toast, marmalade and mixed fruit with tea. He was even able to fix breakfast for 6:00hrs to allow us to cycle away early. Nimal is a great host and he provides excellent budget accommodation.

Nimal was an amazing host. The room was clean and comfortable. The included breakfast was delicious. Nimal arranged a tour for us which was much cheaper than through the normal booking sites. Highly recommend.

The owner is very hospitable and helps in every way possible. The rooms are air conditioned, the beds are comfortable, everything is clean. The atmosphere is calming, the center of the city is a nice walk away or 1 minute by tuk tuk. His dog Nas a is an excellent guard, distinguishing between guests and other newcomers.

Nimal is amazing. Within moments of arriving he’d organised our afternoon’s activities as well as a morning safari.

Very comfortable room with everything you need: Drinking water, soap, clean towels. In general the room was very clean and the location very good.

The bed could be a bit bigger for two people and the room in general is tiny.

Location, within walking distance to New Town. Quiet and peaceful. Nimal was the perfect host, spent many hours in conversation with him, a very well educated and wise man. Nimal was supportive, ensuring all our needs were met. All the mentioned amenities were provided, making the stay both comfortable and affordable. The home was clean. If anyone is looking for a peaceful and budget-friendly stay in Anuradhapura with a kind and considerate host, I highly recommend Nimal’s home.

Property was under construction. Felt dusty environment.kitchen wasn't ready to use. It was a mess and cleaning will be done by owner on request. Bathroom floor was wet due to the leaking in bathroom fittings

Nimal was the perfect host. A lovely gentleman who made me feel very welcone in his home. He gave me lits of advice on visiting the historical sites and I had use of a bicycle. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was delicious!

The owner, Nimal, is a very sweet, modest man who took good care of us during our stay. He also made a super tasty breakfast and helped us sort things out. If a local didn't speak English, he took the phone from us and arranged it for us. We also found Nasa, the dog, very sweet. We had a great stay!

We liked the large room and bathroom which were clean. The host was friendly and organised a safari tour for us.

Restaurants are a bit out of walking distance (but good for tuktuk/pickme)

We spent three nights in this accommodation and it was really good. The room is big, the bed very comfortable and the bathroom with hot water. Everything was very clean. the location is very good, in a quiet street and not far from the centre. Nimal, the owner is very charming and helped us a lot giving us the information we needed. I highly recommend this place.

They could put incense or repellent to get rid of mosquitos which are literally all around the house. Luckily not many inside the room itself.

Nimal is a really great host and person. He organized transportation from the bus station, and connected us with a driver for the safari to Wilpattu national park. He is helpful, provided us with a lot of advice and information during our stay. We had pleasent talks about the culture, climate, people of Sri Lanka and Buddhism.

Nimal is a very friendly, pleasant ane courteous host. We discussed the programm together and he organised everything else (safari in Wilpattu NP, Sacred City, Mihintale and other excursions with a guide called Jaya). Jaya we can highly recommend as a guide! Our conversations in the evening when we went back were very interesting and relaxing. Once we were too tired, he went to get dinner especially for us. We can highly recommend a stay with Nimal!

Nimal is super friendly and helpful. It’s a very relaxed place to stay. Just outside the center which in my opinion is best, Away from the noise. There are bikes available to use and if they are taken Nimal will arrange them for you. The room was a great size with a big bathroom. Bed really comfy, shower fantastic and a desk to work on with super fast Wi-Fi.

The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Nimal is a wonderful host and was tremendous help to me as i was not very well during my stay. He arranged a driver to take me to a doctor and pharmacy , the driver ensured that I understood everything and even made sure that I took my medicine before taking me to the bus station ànd putting me on the correct bus to my next destination. I couldn't have received any better care and affection even from my own family. When I come back to Sri Lanka I will return to Nimals Home . He is a genuine and caring person with a real interest in you as a person and where you come from. The breakfast was perfect. It is people like Nimal that make Sri Lanka such a wonderful place to visit.

One of the best mattresses we had in Sri Lanka, plus both spacious bed- and bathroom with AC! Nimal is super friendly and was so kind to arrange a pickup from the bus station for us, for it is a bit out of the city centre, but we didn't mind that at all! He also arranged two solid bicycles for us to rent, to explore the city, which is really a recommendation to do! We would definitely return if we ever gonna be back in Anuradhapura!

Nimal is lovely and very helpful. He gave advice about what to do in the area. He booked a tuktuk for us to go to Mihintale and the drive was very friendly. The room is clean and the AC and WiFi work very well.

The location is a little bit out of the centre but with the tuktuk it is 5 minutes away.

Bed was good, air con worked well, hot shower. Nimal was very kind and helpful.

It’s out of town so you have to get a tuk tuk everywhere. The driver who Nimal sorted for me ripped me off so watch out for that.
