Dar Bilal

Die Unterkunft befindet sich etwa 5 km vor Aït-Ben-Haddou und liegt ein wenig abseits der Hauptstraße. Die Position des Hauses ist aber bei Google Maps ziemlich präzise hinterlegt, also gut zu finden. Parkplätze sind direkt vor dem Haus. Im Gemeinschaftsbereich des Hauses fühlt man sich wie in einer Geschichte aus 1001 Nacht. Es ist hier super gemütlich und angenehm temperiert. Auch die Dachterrasse lohnt einen Besuch (besonders bei Sonnenuntergang). Die Zimmer sind einfach, aber schön eingerichtet. Besonderes Highlight waren die freundlichen und höflichen Gastgeber, die alles tun, um ihren Gästen einen besonderen Aufenthalt zu bereiten. Das Frühstück war eines der besten, die wir während der gesamten Zeit in Marokko serviert bekommen haben. Wir würden sehr gerne wieder hierher kommen.

Leider wurden wir bei unserer Abreise vor dem Haus von einem Einheimischen abgefangen, der uns eine Führung durch den Ort "anbieten" wollte. Wir haben versucht, so freundlich wie möglich abzulehnen, aber leider ist der Mann ein wenig böse geworden. Solche Dinge kommen aber nun mal ab und zu in Marokko vor, damit muss man eben rechnen.

Das Haus ist einfach, aber sehr schön eingerichtet. Die Zimmer sind gross und das angeschlossene Bad sauber. Das Frühstück ist landesüblich. Von der Terasse es Hauses hat man einen schönen Blick.

Es gab zum Frühstück keine Kaffeeauswahl.

Absolutely everything

We really enjoyed our stay at Dar Bilal in Ait Ben Haddou. The guest house is full of charm and made for a very comfortable stay. Our hist Mohamed was very welcoming and made us feel at home straight away. The location is great for visiting and exploring Ait Ben Haddou and the surrounding area, yet located in a quiet and calm environment. A lovely place to stay — we would definitely recommend it.

Wir wurden sehr nett mit einem kleinen Snack und Tee empfangen. Das Quartier liegt etwas außerhalb, ist aber wunderschön, im marokkanischen Stil liebevoll eingerichtet. Frühstück und marokkanisches Abendessen (optional auf Vorbestellung, aber sehr zu empfehlen) waren sehr lecker. Die Gastgeberfamilie ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Wir haben uns von Anfang an sehr wohl gefühlt. Leider waren wir nur für 3 Nächte hier, würden jedoch sehr gerne wiederkommen.

Wij werden heel vriendelijk ontvangen met thee en verschillende soorten nootjes en zoetigheid. Het huis is erg mooi met veel verschillende ruimtes waar je kunt zitten met een boek. Ook is er een dakterras en een terrasje voor het huis. Onze kamer was prima, nette badkamer en een prima bed. Het kleine dorpje is ideaal gelegen en ook leuk om te bekijken. We hebben ook een 3 gangen diner gehad, de tajine boeuff was heerlijk. Het ontbijt was erg uitgebreid met verse pannenkoekjes en panbrood. Een aanrader dus.

The property had a lovely style to it, finished beautifully. It was such a nice place to relax. The staff were lovely and kind and we were greeted with tea and small other nibbles that you’d find in Morocco such as peanuts. Breakfast well deserves title of superb as it was really filling with all kinds of Moroccan staples. The coffee was very nice. The terrace had stunning views and the general feel of the property was lovely and peaceful .

Absolutely nothing everything was amazing. Just remember to order your food early for dinner. 👍🏼

Diese Unterkunft ist wirklich außergewöhnlich. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Haus ist sehr stilvoll und schön eingerichtet und die Lage ist prima für Ausflüge in der Gegend. Besonders hervor zu heben ist jedoch die unaufdringliche und aufmerksame Art, mit der die Gastgeber uns umsorgt haben. Eine uneingeschränkte Empfehlung !

Wir waren schon zum zweiten Mal im Dar Bilal und waren wieder absolut begeistert. Die Zimmer, das Essen, die Lage und vor allem die Gastgeber sind wunderbar. Wir kommen auch gerne zum dritten Mal. 🙂

Super accueil chaleureux repas excellent on recommande

Mohamed und sein Sohn sind sehr freundliche und gute Gastgeber. Das Hotel ist wunderschön und ruhig. Die Lage toll mit grossartiger Aussicht auf die Kasbah, das Tal, die Berge und die Mandelgärten vom Dach aus.

A stunning house in a beautiful spot near Ait Benhaddou and next to another beautiful kasbah. People were kind and welcoming, breakfast was delicious as was the welcoming tea. Rooms are beautiful. We loved staying here!

This house is absolutely stunning, with meticulous craftsmanship evident throughout and beautifully adorned with Moroccan artifacts from across the country. The host family was incredibly welcoming, greeting us with tea and refreshments upon arrival. While breakfast was somewhat disappointing and would benefit from more traditional offerings, the rooftop terrace more than compensated with spectacular stargazing opportunities. We’re already planning our return visit. Many thanks to Mohamed for a memorable stay.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Very beautiful interiors, lovely food, nice and relaxed vibe

We were welcomed at Dar Bilal in a very warm and typically Moroccan manner with tea and pastries. The owner's older son was very helpful with our luggage. We also had the opportunity to choose between two rooms. The building is beautiful, very stylish and comfortably furnished, and offers many seating areas that invite you to linger. One evening, we sat in a seating area on the slightly cooler upper floor and Mohammed very kindly brought us a blanket. The room was sufficiently large and the bed was comfortable. Overall, however, the room was very simply furnished, but there were enough power outlets. The breakfast had a good selection and there was something for every taste. The sweet cakes and croissants were particularly good. Dar Bilal offers good and secure parking. The access road is unpaved and not easy to find the first time (we arrived at night) – but no problem after that.

Unfortunately, as we don't speak/understand French, we weren't really able to talk with the very nice host family, even though we would have liked to. Our room was a little bit cold, and even with the air conditioning, we couldn't really raise the temperature noticeably. Thanks to the many cozy blankets, this wasn't a problem in bed. We didn't have any hot water in the bathroom (perhaps we didn't let it run long enough) – but it wasn't a problem for brushing our teeth and washing our faces.

Fue una estancia magnífica, los anfitriones han sido muy amables. Nos ofrecieron té y dulces nada más llegar, y el desayuno muy variado y rico. La cena que pagamos a parte fue increíble y con un precio muy bajo por los estándares europeos. Y todo en un ambiente muy cuidado y acogedor, con decoración tradicional y el confort moderno. Lo recomiendo sin duda para quien quiera dormir cerca del ksar Ait Ben Haddu. Muchas gracias por su hospitalidad!

The staff is extremely kind and helpful. The location is absolutely breathtaking and waking up looking at the sunrise and the starry sky from that rooftop is already a special experience by itself. It’s a very calm and quiet area (besides from a few animals in the background and the praying from the mosque in the morning). I would absolutely go back to stay there for much longer and suggest it to everyone who wants to spend a few days outside of Marrakech traveling by car through one of the most stunning roads and landscapes you can wish for! Ps Definitely check out the ruins right next to it in the village!

Es increíble como Mohamed y su familia mantienen este lugar que lo hacen único e inolvidable. Tranquilamente le compite a un 5 estrellas boutiques. La ambientación es sensacional. Todos los espacios son amplios. Las habitaciones muy lindas. Todo reluce de limpio. La comida es de las cosas más ricas que comí en mi vida. La bondad que transmiten Mohamed padre y Mohamef hijo es de una calidez humana notoria. Nos vamos maravillados de este lugar único. Volveremos!!

Très bien situé au calme à l'écart du surtourisme d'Ait BenHadou, avec une magnifique kasbah dans le village surplombant une vallée. Le Dar est cosy, très propre, douillet, confortable, on s'y sent bien. Les diners sont délicieux et les petits déjeuners copieux. L'accueil de Mohamed est chaleureux, simple, discret. Une adresse à retenir.

C'est très propre et les parties communes sont très jolies.

Déçu, avec une note de 9,7 (exceptionnel), on ne s'attendait pas à ce genre de prestation, bien inférieure à "du exceptionnel". La chambre avec un confort rudimentaire : 1 lampe de chevet pour deux, pas d'interrupteur en tête de lit pour éteindre le plafonnier, 2 patères, 2 tabourets, pas une étagère, pas un cintre ni une armoire. Le petit déjeuner est quasiment le même dans tout le Maroc donc pas exceptionnel mais très bon.

We have experienced there traditional Marrocan hospitability. Everything was perfect as we expected. The hosts were very nice and the food delicious.

Le riad est magnifique avec une décoration sobre tout en restant dans la tradition. Mohamed le propriétaire nous ouvre les portes de son riad avec simplicité et bienveillance. Le dîner est parfait et le petit déjeuner exceptionnel.

The food was good for both breakfast and dinner. A really nice village with an old kasbah. The host did not speak English but was exceptionally friendly. It was clean and felt like they cared about their guests.

It got a little cold at night and the blankets were thin. Our stay was and the end of October. We did not ask for blankets. I am sure they would provide some. Unfortunately, we did not manage to get warm water in the shower.

Nagyon tetszett a vendegszeretet, a fogadtatás a rengeteg finomsaggal és a szokasos teával. A frissen elkészített vacsora is nagyon jo volt. Autentikusan es izlesesen van berendezve a közösségi tér. Csendea és nyugodt elhelyezkedés.

(Mint mashol is Marokkoban) itt sem folyik le a zihanyban a víz rendesen.

The kindness of the host, Mohammed, was evident in the thought and preparation of the place. The food he provided was amazing, especially dinner. It is a most welcoming facility, with a great roof terrace as well as comfortable common spaces.

Note that on-site, one has to pay cash for the extra meals like the dinner. Totally worth it, as it was probably one of the better meals we had in Morocco!

An absolute gem of a Dar, very close to Ait Ben Haddou but away from the tourist madness there. Beautiful interior, nice breakfast and a very kind host. Absolute recommendation.

Unfassbar große Gastfreundlichkeit in einer tollen Unterkunft mit sehr schönen Aussicht über das Tal. Wir wurden herzlichst empfangen und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Auch das Frühstück war ausgezeichnet. Hier stimmt alles!

Un superbe Dar tres bien situé à quelques kilomètres seulement du trop touristique Ait Ben Haddou mais à 5 minutes d’une kasbah ancienne surplombant la vallée. Établissement très propre, accueil chaleureux et repas excellents.

Super quiet place! They also had ac I didn't see mentioned on their page. Place was clean and we got a a lot of welcoming snacks. Place was nicer in person than on photos

Hot water took a while to come.

We stayed there only a night, arriving late and leaving early, but we were really impressed by the design of the building. It was renovated using traditional techniques but adding a contemporary twist. The rooms and common spaces were very spacious, and the building had an amazing rooftop terrace with picturesque views towards the other villages and mountains. The room was comfortable and we could rest very well there. The hosts were sweet and gentle. The breakfast was really generous; I think we could eat only a quarter of it. I highly recommend it, especially if you are looking for a comfortable and peaceful stay away from the tourist madness.

We only stayed one night on our way to Marrakesh, cause we wanted to check out Ait-Ben-Haddou, which was beautiful but in the end we enjoyed the area around Dar Bilal way more. Our evening walk through the gardens around was incredibly calming and beautiful, the little village is really charming. The whole family is welcoming the guests in a very warm way and really looking for everyone to enjoy the stay. Also the food is really good and the view from the rooftop spectacular! The price is more than fair.

The host is super, very friendly. Authentic, self-made house impressive. We also had a very nice walk in the oasis and agricultural area and the river side. Very much recommanded.

The shower had only cold water, we were there on very cloudy days. Perhaps sunboilers could not work well.
