Die Zimmer ist mit Klimaanlage ausgestattet. Die Zimmer sind sauber und gross. Der Gastgeber war extrem freundlich und hilfsbereit. Außerdem hat er uns bei den Aktivitäten und Transfer geholfen. Das Essen war auch sehr gut. Kann den Ort aufjedenfall sehr empfehlen.

We had a wonderful stay here in Habarana and would absolutely recommend it! The room was very spacious, spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, including both air conditioning and a fan. The bed was very comfortable and we slept really well. Despite the high temperatures outside, the room stayed cool and comfortable throughout the night. The bathroom was also very clean and well equipped, with good water pressure and hot water always available. Breakfast was included and was one of our favourite parts of the stay. It was different every morning, always fresh, delicious and generous, with a nice mix of sweet and savoury local dishes. We also had dinner here every evening and really enjoyed it. The portions were generous, everything was delicious, and it was a great opportunity to try different local dishes. The owner was incredibly kind, attentive and helpful. He gave us great advice on how to organise our days, especially regarding the best times to visit places and how to plan the different activities. He also kindly drove us wherever we needed to go, which made exploring Habarana so much easier. Overall, a very comfortable stay with delicious food and genuinely warm hospitality. We felt really well looked after and would happily stay here again!

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and excellent hospitality. ❤️ The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, making our stay incredibly relaxing. What truly stood out was the friendly and attentive staff. Their service was exceptional, and they made us feel genuinely valued throughout our stay. The atmosphere, cleanliness, food, and overall experience were all outstanding. The rooms are good and definitely worth the price we paid.

Kalahara, the property owner runs this with his wife. He's prompt in responding and took good care of us. We had an issue with the AC, but he got it fixed quickly after being reported. The property is very beautiful with a nice garden. The food portions (all cooked by the wife of the owner) were very large.

Allotjament molt acollidor, net i maco. Vam tenir la sort de que els propietaris ens adaptessin el menjar a dieta gluten free. El menjar va ser tot deliciós, de qualitat i vam poder provar moltes coses tipiques del país. El safari espectacular, preu algo superior a altres, pero val la pena.

Tot i que el propietari ho intentava fer de bona fe, en alguns moments ens vam sentir presionats per la seva intensitat alhora d’oferir activitats. Segons ell ho feia simplement per oferir, però no ens donava aquesta sensació. Creiem que si canvies una mica aquesta actitut, ho valorariem amb un 10.

Eine sehr angenehme Unterkunft in bester Lage nahe Lionsrock, Polonnaruwa und mehreren Nationalparks. Großes Zimmer vor dem Garten mit leiser Klimaanlage, gutem Bad sowie großen und bequemen Betten. Kalhara ist stets sehr um seine Gäste bemüht und erfüllt jeden Wunsch. Seine Frau Hansi ist eine ganz hervorragende Köchin, Frühstück und Abendessen waren jedes Mal anders und wirklich immer absolut fantastisch! Swan Lake ist ein perfekter Stop zwischen Kandy nach Trincomalee.

Swan Lake offers the kind of hospitality you just don’t get at hotels. The place was clean, comfortable and great value for money. The owner couldn’t have done anymore for us - he organized safaris, tours and hikes for us last minute. I would highly recommend staying here to experience Sri Lankan hospitality and some great food too!

The host was fantastic. It was my son’s birthday and his wife made him a personalised cake! He sorted out everything that we needed. Breakfast was great - loads of fruit and lots of roti, pancakes etc. (and dinner was nice too)

From start to finish, our stay at Swan Lake was absolutely phenomenal. This place is a must-stay if you're looking to stay in Habarana. Kalhara and his family were so warm, friendly, and accommodating. Throughout our stay, he made sure we were well looked after, dropping us off and picking us up around Habarana. He helped us arrange public buses and rent bicycles so we could explore the Cultural Triangle. He also drove us early one morning so my partner and I could experience sunrise at Pidurangala Rock, as well as arranging a private safari tour in Minneriya National Park with a guide who had 21 years of experience. It was an unforgettable experience to witness “The Gathering,” the largest gathering of Asian elephants in the world. In addition, Kalhara arranged for us to attend an authentic Sri Lankan cultural performance featuring traditional Sinhala dances, fire breathing, and fire walking, which was another highlight of our trip and gave us a wonderful insight into the local culture. Lastly, the breakfasts were absolutely amazing. Every day was different and authentically Sri Lankan. We will, for certain, be staying here again the next time we're in Habarana. Thank you, Kalhara, for your incredible hospitality and for making our stay such a memorable experience! 🫶🏼 🇱🇰

Swan Lake is a fantastic family business & the hosts made us feel really well looked after during our stay. We were collected from the station & Kalhara was always on hand with a smile, to make our stay extra special & tailored to suit our needs - nothing was too much trouble! Kalhara assisted us with our safari tour & lots of other recommendations.The breakfast each morning was fantastic Sri-Lankan, homemade cuisine. The rooms were really clean with a hot shower & comfortable beds.

Kalhara was super helpful during our stay & nothing was too much trouble. At times, this was a little intense for us, with elevated pricing but others may appreciate having everything planned for ease. Kalhara’s enthusiasm is notable.

Our stay was amazing at Swan Lake Hotel. We went on kayaking trip at the lake and it was an unforgettable experience. The rice fields after passing the village is a must to visit and is around a hundred KM. Plenty of birds and a stunning green landscape. For whoever wanna stay anywhere nearby HABARANA, this is the best place to stay..

He organized a safari and an Ayurveda massage for us at excellent prices and offered to drive us everywhere. Such a great find! This small, boutique hotel has everything you need.: a clean, comfortable, and peaceful setting; activities coordinator; and excellent local food. It’s quiet but very close to town. The host, Kalhara, will see to your every need, from train station pickup to local activities to arranging tours. The daily changing menu is a restaurant quality culinary tour of Sri Lanka. Every meal is a feast! And best of all, you are truly treated like family. We are so glad we stayed here!

The host is very welcoming, always respond to our needs and checks if we feel comfortable staying at the lodge. He also came to the train station to pick us up and sometimes he offered to drive us to the city free of charge, we really appreciated that. Room is spacious and spotless, we got everything we need, hot shower, hairdryer. The breakfast and the diner are REALLY AMAZING! A SUPER big plus for this place, and they CHANGE menu everyday, so we had a bit of everything during our stay.

The room was spacious and clean. While Habarana was extremely hot, the room temperature was bearable without having to use the AC for the entire night. Breakfast at this accommodation was very nice and was different each day.

The accommodation is set back from the road, so it isn’t too noisy, though some street noise (without loud horns) can be heard — one morning it did wake me up. Most of the time, however, we slept well. Dinner felt somewhat overpriced and lacked variety. On one occasion, we requested boiled vegetables as part of dinner, and when we checked out the host attempted to charge an additional 3,000 rupees without prior agreement. The property is not located in the town center, which can be slightly inconvenient for dining out or shopping if you don’t have a car. As there is no pedestrian path, walking is not really practical. Before arrival, the host mentioned that breakfast could be served at any time. When we asked for breakfast at 7 a.m. one day, they were initially reluctant but eventually agreed. Payment was charged according to the latest exchange rate (which was quite high in April 2026) and rounded up slightly.

Kalhara's place was a great stay for our 3 days. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable with a hot water shower. The hospitality there stood out, as Kalhara is there to assist in anything you need. I asked for a haircut and he gladly took me to his barber who did a wonderful job. Let's not forget the breakfast -- so tasty and always a little different each morning. After 3 weeks in the country this was by far the best egg hopper. If I am back in Habarana I am coming back here!

Was für ein perfekter Start unserer Reise in Sri Lanka! Kalhara hat uns außerdem zu tollen Orten gebracht und bei der Planung unserer Tagesausflüge geholfen. Auch unsere Transfers von Colombo und später nach Kandy hat er perfekt organisiert. Insgesamt hat unser Aufenthalt unsere Erwartungen weit übertroffen. Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt und können das Hotel Swan Lake nur weiterempfehlen!

Hostitel byl občas příliš trochu snaživý i když jsme nic nepotřebovali. Navíc jsme dostali jiný pokoj s jednou, a ne dvěma postelemi, ale na místě jsme se dohodli, že to tak stačí.

Everything was perfect. Kalhara was a great host. We stayed for 2 days and ate there every time. The food was excellent. We chose to eat only Sri Lankan traditional food, and it was awesome, so tasty.

Close to town, the verandah and garden were very pleasant. It was close to the national parks which are good for elephant spotting. The host could arrange safaris for you.

There were faults with the shower and toilet. The bed and bedding needed replacing. The host agreed to do this for the comfort of future visitors.

I booked this stay for my parents and they were thrilled by their experience. The property is surrounded by a bunch of trees, was very spacious and rustic and they loved the serenity. Additionally, the owner of the property is personally invested in the guests enjoying their stay and guided them to the best attractions in the region. The management was very accommodating for anything that my parents needed and they left Swan Lake feeling rejuvenated.

We could not recommend Swan Lake highly enough. Accomodation was fantastic - clean, tidy and well organised. The food was incredible. One person in our group had a food allergy and it was very well catered to. An amazing way to experience local food - cooked and prepared perfectly. Honestly would be a highlight at any restaurant and yet it was just another great part of this experience. Kalhara (the owner) is one of the best. He assisted in finding activities, transport, bookings, navigation, advice and was available at a moments notice. His approach is what sets Swan Lake above any hotel or other form of accomodation. Once you stay here you’ll understand exactly what I mean.

Nosotros también comimos y cenamos en el hotel y la verdad que la comida estaba buenísima, pudimos probar varios platos típicos de Sri Lanka sin ir is muy lejos. Kalhara es un gran anfitrión, nos ayudó a organizar el Safari para Kaudulla e incluso nos acompañó, sin duda super recomendado!

Pour les activités, nous avons suivi les conseils de Kalhara pour un safari : il nous a recommandé le parc de Kaudulla ainsi qu’un chauffeur formidable, une expérience inoubliable ! Property was very good value for money including breakfast. On a couple of occasions I requested a take out breakfast and it was put safely in a box. Owner ‘s wife could cook fresh dish for diner on request , big portion ! Small convenience shop at the front of the property , excellent bakehouse 800 m on the high street next to Habanara post office. We requested laundry service and it was outsourced within 24 h reasonably priced.

WiFi could be on/off especially at busy time in the evening . Back door of our bedroom had a slight gap but that was pointed out to the owner who will fix it. I would have liked a bedside lamp to read in the evening.

Kalhara è stato un host molto gentile, ce ne siamo andati con là sensazioni di aver lasciato un amico da tornare a trovare. Le camere sono spaziose e molto pulite dotate di AC ben funzionante. Abbiamo soggiornato 3 notti con colazioni e cene sempre diverse e ottime. Infine oltre a supportarci in alcuni attività, ci ha consigliato un ottimo massaggio ayurvedico e personalmente accompagnato in alcune compere.

Il nostro soggiorno è stato molto piacevole. Kalhara è stato un host impeccabile: dal posto incantevole alle colazioni abbondanti e deliziose. Inoltre era il compleanno di uno di noi e ha organizzato una piccola sorpresa. Lo raccomandiamo: il rapporto qualità prezzo merita assolutamente.

Nous avons été très bien accueillis, les chambres sont grandes et très propres avec climatisation ainsi que l'eau chaude dans les salles de bain. Les petits déjeuners sont très copieux et changent tous les jours ! Nous prenions également notre dîner ici tellement la cuisine est succulentes. Merci pour ce beau séjour ! Si je retourne au Sri Lanka, je repasse par swan lake!

Alles! :) vor allem die Freundlichkeit von Kalhara, der uns wirklich bei allem unterstützt hat. Er hat uns immer die besten Fahrer organisiert und auch eine Safari, die einfach traumhaft war. Insgesamt war es einfach sehr unkompliziert dank seiner Hilfe! Außerdem sind die Zimmer extrem sauber und das Bett komfortabel, es gibt eine Klimaanlage. Hervorzuheben ist außerdem das Essen: sowohl Frühstück als auch Abendessen wurden immer frisch und mit Liebe zubereitet und mit Obst aus seinem eigenen Garten, das war wirklich großartig. Wir können diese Unterkunft von Herzen weiterempfehlen und zwar für jegliche Art von Reisenden; es gibt insgesamt 3 Zimmer, was es sehr überschaubar macht und man sich sehr gut aufgehoben fühlt. Mit uns waren eine Familie und ein Solo-Traveller vor Ort - also wirklich etwas für jeden 😊

Localización excelente para visitar el Triángulo Cultural!! Habitaciones limpias, con aire acondicionado y ventilador de techo, camas cómodas y baño equipado. Jardin muy cuidado y localización en un sitio tranquilo. La amabilidad, simpatía y dedicación de Kalhara son inmejorables, sólo igualadas por la calidad de los desayunos y las cenas que nos prepararon el y su mujer los cuatro días que estuvimos en su alojamiento (cada día mejor que el anterior…) Muchas gracias por hacernos sentir como en casa!!!. Volveremos!!!

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour au Swan Lake hotel, chez Kalhara qui a été un hôte exceptionnel! Il s'est montré très accueillant et disponible. Il nous a beaucoup aidé dans toute l'organisation et la planification des différentes activités, et a su trouver une solution au moindre problème et ce à n'importe quelle heure de la journée. Le lieu est très joli et la cuisine était excellente. Le petit déjeuner était très copieux et de grande qualité. On sent que Kalhara prend beaucoup de plaisir à nous partager sa culture et à prendre soin de ses invités. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié loger à Swan Lake, nous recommandons à 100% ce magnifique endroit !

Nous avons adoré séjourner à l’hotel de Khalara. Le lieu est très apaisant et la chambre très propre et confortable. Khalara parle très bien anglais et donne de très bon conseils. Le petit déjeuner et le diner étaient très bons !

El hotel está en perfectas condiciones, en un lugar rodeado de naturaleza y cerca de los lugares de interés. Kalhara es el propietario más amable y dispuesto que hemos conocido, siempre está pendiente de ayudar, de recomendar sitios y de programar actividades. El desayuno está muy completo y rico, cocinan muy bien y con alimentos frescos típicos de Sri Lanka. Nos hemos ido muy contentos, lo recomendamos al 100%.

Kalhara and his wife are great hosts who truly care for their guests, going out of their way to make sure guests have an exceptional experience — even after their stay at the Swan Lake. Three clean rooms with comfortable beds, AC and hot water are set in a beautiful garden with all kinds of plants and wildlife, including the occasional monkey. The Sri Lankan breakfast they serve is exceptional and varies daily. Various Sri Lankan dishes are available for dinner, maybe a bit pricier than at some places in town but absolutely delicious and well worth it. Kalhara is very knowledgeable, easygoing, reliable, quick to respond and eager to organize tours and transport even on short notice. In town, there are also plenty of tuk tuks to take you wherever you want to go. It's best to get an impression of the going rates before booking anything. The Swan Lake is a great place to stay, I can highly recommend it and I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Just some minor things: At the time of my stay, some kind of celebration was going on in town, with music playing all night long. Insects can come in through the bathroom window and under the back door.

Kalhara è un padrone di casa accogliente e professionale. Ottima la colazione, sempre diversa, così come le cene. Se vuoi ti organizza anche gli spostamenti e visite nei luoghi di interesse.

Kalhara fue encantador de principio a fin. Muy cercano y siempre con una sonrisa y super pendiente a tu comodidad y peticiones en la estancia todo el rato. Nos fue dando recomendaciones cada día para mejorar nuestra experiencia y nos facilitó en varias ocasiones el transporte a los diferentes sitios. Además, la ubicación es excelente; en Habarana pero alejado del ruido en una zona muy tranquila y segura. Buena ubicación para luego moverse a lugares de interés próximos: Safari de Minneriya, Sigiriya, Polannaruwa, Pidurangala, Dambulla, etc. El desayuno estaba incluido en el precio. Decidimos cenar en el hotel todos los días y él se encargó personalmente de gestionarlo y por un precio super razonable en cuanto a calidad-precio. La comida era casera y muy rica de tal manera que nos iba enseñando cada día cosas nuevas del país. Recomiendo mucho cenar en el hotel!! Limpieza, lugar, etc. Todo perfecto. Cama extra grande, baño limpio y cómodo y con aire acondicionado... Nada más a pedir y no tenemos ni una sola queja. Las fotos no hacen justicia. Si volvemos alguna vez a Sri Lanka, sin duda nos alojaremos en el hotel de Kalhara y su familia!!

From being welcomed with special fresh fruit juice to mid day star fruit,, everything about this place was great. Kalhara is an amazing host and very helpful. Even the breakfast was very nice and complete sri lankan style. Loved staying here.

Great Stay!

-sehr leckeres authentisches Frühstück -tolle Kommunikation -viel Hilfe bei Ausflügen, Busfahrten für Ankunft und Weiterreise -tolle organisierte Safaritour über die Unterkunft, es war super wir haben viele Elefanten gesehen. Wir fanden es im Gegensatz zu anderen Touren preislich mit 20.000 für zwei Personen in Ordnung und für das was wir gesehen haben war es das auf jeden Fall wert. -Sauberkeit und Komfort war okay, insgesamt einfach gehalten, das sollte einem bewusst sein

-die Lage ist nicht ganz zentral, was für uns okay war, wir aber hier erwähnen möchten

We had a wonderful stay at swan lake. Kalhara the host was so helpful. He showed us his beautiful garden, waited with us to catch the bus, and his wife made delicious breakfasts! True hospitality. Would definitely stay again if in the area and are so thankful for the great stay. Just an FYI - dinners at the property a bit more on the expensive side at 2750 LKR/person compared to other restaurants in the area. His wife is a great cook though so it was very delicious!

We had a great stay at this guest house in Habarana. The place is super clean and quiet, even though it’s near the main road. Surrounded by nature, with monkeys and little frogs popping by – really fun! The host was very kind, always paying attention to the little things, and an amazing cook. Breakfasts were delicious, and they helped us organize activities too. Really relaxing and welcoming place. Highly recommend!
