Le fait de dormir avec le son des vagues, de se réveiller les pieds dans le sable avec une vue imprenable sur l’océan (cette partie de Tangalle est très sauvage, c’est magnifique ! Et nous étions presque seules sur la plage), les équipements (il y a tout ce qu’il faut dans la chambre, et il y a de nombreux jeux à disposition, une table de ping-pong…), et l’accueil très simple mais agréable. L’hôtel dispose de « lits » sur la plage, un luxe!Nous avons même demandé une nuit supplémentaire! Merci beaucoup

Reviewed Aug 15, 2026We had a fantastic stay here. We got upgraded to a beach view room, and extended out stay twice because we loved it so much! Right next to a stunning beach, spacious clean rooms and friendly staff. Such good value for money as well, would definitely recommend :)

Reviewed Jun 27, 2026Had a great stay at Ibisbird Beach Bungalows. The location is perfect, just a short walk from the beach, and both the owner and employee were very friendly and helpful. The highlight for me was the two adorable German Shepherds, they were super friendly and made the stay even more enjoyable. Would definitely recommend this place!

There are 3 ocean view rooms, sadly the one we got was behind the main one. Wife was very disappointed as that was the only reason we booked here. Someone was banging outside EARLY in the morning. Only a fan but the sheets on the bed where not cotton, assuming Polyester which made it difficult to sleep as it became hot lying on the bed with virtually nothing on. Got up for a cooling shower during the middle of the night.

Reviewed May 5, 2026Die Lage direkt am Meer ist einfach top – ruhig, entspannt und perfekt zum Abschalten. Die Unterkunft selbst war sehr gepflegt und komfortabel. Besonders hervorzuheben ist das Personal: extrem freundlich, aufmerksam und immer hilfsbereit.
Durch die Off-Season hatten einige Restaurants in der Umgebung geschlossen. Das ist aber kein großes Problem, da man trotzdem gute Optionen findet.

Reviewed Apr 9, 2026Die Betten waren Mega bequem und das Personal war auch Mega nett. Der Strand ist auch direkt von der Unterkunft erreichbar, allerdings muss man ca 5 Minuten laufen um eine bessere Stelle zum schwimmen zu erreichen
Es gab leider keine Klimaanlage, daher war es manchmal echt heiß.

The cooling situation could have been better in the non-AC rooms. Although they do provide extra fan on request

Reviewed Mar 31, 2026Die Unterkunft ist ein absoluter Traum direkt am Strand. Die ruhige Lage kombiniert mit dem fast schon verlassendem Strand hat uns sehr gefallen. Das Personal ist zuvorkommend und kümmert sich um alle Angelegenheiten. Die gesamte Anlage ist sehr gepflegt und man fühlt sich direkt wie zu Hause. Außerdem gibt es die beste Tomatensoße auf der ganzen Welt dort! Ein Must Do! Uns hat der Aufenthalt sehr gefallen. Das Ausleihen der Fahrräder lief unkompliziert ab und es gab Local Tipps. Zusammenfassend wohl der schönste Ort unserer Sri Lanka Reise.
Unser Raum hat etwas modrig gerochen und die Luft im Zimmer wirkte feucht. Es liegt vielleicht am älteren Baustil und des tropischen Klimas. Und hat es nicht sehr gestört.

Reviewed Mar 27, 2026We absolutely loved our stay at Ibisbird! The location is fabulous - right on the long and empty beach of Tangalle. It looks just like the pictures, maybe even better. Our room (with seaview, no AC) was simple, but functional. The bed was very big and comfortable. The food was delicious, although a bit more expensive than in nearby restaurants.

Room was a little musty, would be nice to include breakfast and complimentary water. Although I was a solo traveller, so if I was sharing the room costs between 2 or 3 people, it would have been excellent value for money.

Nach einem Hiking-Urlaub haben es die Strandbetten geschafft, das wir uns einmal einen ganzen Tag nicht vom Fleck bewegt haben 😀 -und dann noch einen Tag verlängert haben. Es gab nicht einen Wunsch an das Personal, der nicht gerne erfüllt wurde. Wir hoffen, dass wir diesen Platz bald wieder besuchen können. Danke & Grüße an die Gastgeberin.

Reviewed Mar 9, 2026Un emplacement de rêve où l'on aimerait passer plus de temps. Une chambre agréable et assez spacieuse, une plage bien aménagée et un service de restauration tout au long de la journée. Cet endroit est un petit paradis!
le service n'est pas à la hauteur : nous n'avons eu aucune aide pour porter nos bagages alors que l'une d'entre nous était blessée. Le personnel nous a vu nous diriger vers notre voiture sans nous aider. De plus, en 2 semaines complètes au Sri Lanka, c'est le seul endroit où on ne nous a pas mis à disposition gratuitement ne serait-ce qu'un verre d'eau. Tout est disponible, mais tout est payant. Dans des logements nettement moins chers nous avons toujours eu une bouteille d'eau, un thé, par exemple. C'est dommage, car le lieu est tellement beau et agréable.

Reviewed Mar 9, 2026Eine toll gelegene Unterkunft (direkt am Strand) mit sehr netten Gastgebern. Wir haben uns wirklich sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Lage ist traumhaft - wir wären gerne etwas länger geblieben.
Leider waren die Kopfkissen enorm hart und die Sanitäranlagen sehr in die Jahre gekommen (trotzdem hat man alles, was man benötigt)

Reviewed Mar 9, 2026Die Anlage liegt an einem wunderschönen Strand. Viele Beachrestaurants fußläufig am Strand entlang zu erreichen. Frühstück muss in der Anlage extra bezahlt werden. Völlig überteuert und war das schlechteste unserer Rundreise. Wir bekamen einen Minibungalow, sehr eng, ohne AC, Bad im 70 er Jahre Stil...furchtbar. Hatten eigentlich ein DZ gebucht und keinen Bungalow, aber bei 1 Nacht will man sich nicht aufregen. Betreiberin ist Deutsche und hat günstigen Weitertransport organisiert. Würde hier nicht nochmal buchen
Achtung kein WiFi, nur an der Rezeption, ist aber bei booking.com erwähnt.

Reviewed Mar 6, 2026Ein herrlicher Ort zum erholen und einfach sein, Ausflüge in die nahe Umgebung werden gerne organisiert, wer gerne lange Spaziergänge am Strand macht ist hier genau richtig. Der Strand ist überhaupt nicht überlaufen und immer wieder kommt man an kleinen Bars und Restaurants vorbei. Für uns wars perfekt. Danke dem ganzen Team

The rooms were small and had no drink making facilities nor a fridge. The bathrooms were basic but adequate.

Non c è possibilità di prenotazione con la colazione inclusa. Si può comunque acquistare dal ristorante della struttura ma è più costoso rispetto alle strutture vicine. Il mio consiglio è quello di proporre dei pacchetti (pagando di più) con la colazione inclusa

Reviewed Mar 3, 2026Das Ibis bird Beach Resort ist sehr schön und befindet sich direkt am Strand. Ein wunderbarer Ort um zu entspannen. Die Besitzerin Angelika ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Alles war perfekt. Ich komme gerne wieder!

De huisjes zijn van binnen erg sober. Er is alleen WiFi bij de receptie. Er is geen airco, alleen een waaier.

Reviewed Feb 25, 2026The location is excellent. Close to town, yet far enough away to be very peaceful and quiet. The rooms are nice with comfy beds, A/C, and hot water. The seating around the hotel area is excellent and is a perfect place to relax and watch the ocean. The staff is very helpful and friendly and can cook delicious food all day. It is one of the most relaxing and peaceful beach hotels in Sri Lanka. I have stayed twice here and plan to return again one day.

Other people in the morning, bit noisy. Slamming doors.
