Una estancia maravillosa, pero lo que realmente nos llevamos es el cariño de esta familia. ❤️ Nos hicieron sentir parte de su hogar y nos trataron con un amor y una cercanía difíciles de olvidar. Hay lugares que visitas y personas que se quedan contigo para siempre. Gracias de corazón por hacernos sentir como en casa. 🙏🏽🇱🇰❤️

Het ontbijt is fantastisch! De eigenaar ook zeer gezellig en een beetje awkward 😬 hij liep mee naar de waterval en liet de stad zien. Hij vertelde graag en openhartig over het leven in Sri Lanka. Het huis is een fijne plek. De volgende x verblijven we in het andere huisje!

In Nuwara Eliya is het koud en vochtig, dat voelde je ook aan het appartement. Het is koud en alles voelt ook een beetje vochtig. De lakens en de handdoeken bijvoorbeeld

El dueño del hostal increíblemente simpático, atento y agradable. Le gustan mucho los juegos de mesa. Si podeis traerle uno pequeño le hará mucha ilusión. El no los encuentra en sri lanka. Ya tiene el dobble, la banda de castores, el uno y ell monopoly (todo regalos de los huéspedes). Estuvimos jugando por la noche un rato con el. Nos dejo varias mantas para el frío. El agua caliente funciona muy bien.

Quizás un poco más lejos de lo que esperamos del centro. Repetiríamos sin duda.

Very nice family owned accommodation near Nuwara Eliya. We stayed only one night to try and catch the train to Ella but the house was comfortable and the owner and his family very welcoming and friendly. He even helped us getting to the station (we got places!) and transported our luggage to our accommodation in Ella for a fair price. It’s not in the center but it’s easily accessible even on foot

The city can be quite humid and cold but of course that’s not their fault. We’re provided with warm blankets that were enough for us

Nuestra experiencia en el RC Awkward fue inmejorable. La habitación es espaciosa, muy limpia y equipada con toallas, mantas y secador de pelo. El desayuno es muy completo y sabroso, e incluso nos lo prepararon un día para llevar. La ubicación es muy buena, a 10 minutos en tuk tuk del centro. Pero lo mejor de todo son los dueños, especialmente Rajith. Nos organizó varios planes durante nuestra estancia y nos recomendó todo tipo de restaurantes. De hecho, nos llevó a Horton Plains y a la estación de tren, lo que nos permitió charlar con él tranquilamente. Aprendimos mucho de Sri Lanka gracias a las conversaciones con él. Es muy agradable que te reciban siempre con una sonrisa y se nota que busca que el huésped esté siempre a gusto, lo que sin duda consigue. Si volviera a Nuwara Eliya, volvería a alojarme aquí.

Het was er vrij koud, maar we kregen dikke dekens. Alleen waren onze schoenen de volgende dag nog wel nat. Ligt denk ik ook aan wat voor weer je treft.

A quirky little spot at the south of the lake, with good eating locations nearby and a 30 minute walk (5 min drive) to the centre of town. The accomodation itself is quite basic, but comfortable and good value with lovely hosts. RC was super helpful and really accommodating in driving us to various locations and helping with train logistics and recommendations for dining. Lovely breakfast, and while we didn’t stay in the timber house, it looks very cool.

The linen was a bit worn out but otherwise ok.

One of the best homestay experiences I’ve ever had. Rajith is an amazing host who truly makes you feel at home once you meet him, very kind, welcoming and happy to help with anything. The place is very comfy and quiet, and I also enjoyed breakfasts prepared by his family. Too bad I only booked a few nights and had to go. Definitely recommend this place and hopefully will return.

I liked it from the start to the end From our first interaction with the owner Rajith to the very end, when he dropped us out He is something special and a type if guy, with whom you could easily get to be friends with. When he picked us up at the railway station near Nuwara Eliya, he immediately started showing us the tea fields along the way and also gave us great fun facts and information I think we “clicked” right away During the stay, we felt at all times very welcome and Rajith made sure of it. I would greatly recommend also, if you need to get to Kandy, because he knows some great spots and can provide you the best option for tea factory visit to your liking. What a great person he is and his family. I can only praise our time here

We had a very pleasant stay at this homestay. Since we were the only guests that day, the host kindly upgraded us to a better room, which made the experience even more comfortable. We especially enjoyed the complimentary tea and snacks—Ceylon tea paired with ginger cookies, which were delicious. As we had to leave very early the next morning, the host thoughtfully prepared a packed breakfast for us. It was very generous and well-prepared, which we truly appreciated.

The only downside was that the prices offered for arranging a private car and tours through the host were slightly on the higher side, so we eventually decided not to book those services.

Everything was absolutely amazing! Even though I accidentally booked two rooms for fewer people than we actually were, the host handled everything with kindness and there were no issues at all. We stayed in very cozy two-bedroom apartments with a small kitchen area, which was perfect for our family. The breakfasts were delicious, and the hotel is run by a lovely family. Rajith’s hospitality was truly exceptional, and the location is beautiful and convenient. Most importantly — the place was extremely clean, with warm blankets and cozy throws that made our stay very comfortable in Nuwara Eliya’s chilly weather. Thank you so much, Rajith! Rajith (de host) was echt een fantastische host, hij is samen met ons voor dag en dauw opgestaan om ons naar de Horton Plains the brengen, verzorgd van ontbijt en wel. Verder is de locatie mooi gelegen met een supermarkt, restaurant en het meer op een loop afstand van 5 á 10 minuten. Meer dan van harte door ons aanbevolen!

We’ve stayed already the second time in Rajith’s home. Last year we came for three nights as we visited some relatives of my husband nearby. We liked this place so much that we came back this year. It was again a very comfortable stay. We like the clean and comfortable rooms and the friendly family. Rajith is always very helpful and his sister made a very yummy breakfast for us which we could enjoy every morning in the garden in the sun. In the nighttime it’s getting cold, but that’s normal in Nuwaraeliya. Thank you so much Rajith and your family for the lovely stay. We hope to come back soon😊

Rajith and his family were so welcoming and helpful. The room was immaculate and the bathroom was great. He gave us some great recommendations for Nuwara Eliya and also gave us a lift to Ambewela to the train station in the morning. Breakfast for was lovely and homemade and they even did breakfast early for us.

The hosts were absolutely wonderful – very caring, warm, and attentive. When I had a stomach ache, they even gave me drops to help, which I really appreciated. They were also very friendly and talkative, helped us with our luggage, and arranged a driver to take us to the train. The breakfast was excellent and very generous – definitely one of the highlights of our stay.

We arrived during heavy rain, and the room felt quite humid because of that. It might not be an issue in warmer or drier weather, but it did affect our comfort a bit. The water pressure in the shower was also quite low.

The host and his family are very friendly and helpful! Rajith gave us a lot of tips on what to do in Nuwara Eliya and we had a great time with him! Would totally recommend!

Posto meraviglioso in una zona super tranquilla. La struttura è gestita con amore e cura nei dettagli. L host è fantastico, simpatico, sempre sorridente e disponibile ad aiutarti. Colazione super abbondante e buonissima! Stanza grande e pulita. Possibilità di parcheggiare il proprio tuk tuk direttamente in struttura. Centro raggiungibile in meno di 10 Min di tuk tuk. Consigliatissimo!!!

Kahvaltısı Sri Lanka’da yediklerimizin en güzeli ve porsiyonu en bol olanıydı. Oda modern, tertemiz, otel odası standartlarında. Nevresim, havlular, battaniye vb. herşeyi çok içimize sinerek kullandık. Ayrıca kullanabileceğiniz bir mutfak da mevcut. Rajith bizi kendi aracıyla Kandy’den aldı ve şelaler, çay fabrikası, manzara noktaları gibi yerleri gezdirerek Nuwara Eliya’ya getirdi. Birlikte harika bir gün geçirdik. İyi bir arkadaş ve iyi bir sürücüydü. Ertesi sabah tren bileti bulmak için istasyona erken gitmemiz gerekiyordu. Saat 6 da kalkıp bize çok güzel bir kahvaltı hazırladılar ve Rajith bizi tam zamanında istasyona bıraktı, onun sayesinde bilet almayı ve hatta trende oturacak yer bulmayı başardık :)

Super liebe Hosts, die einem tolle Tipps geben und so viel Liebe in alles stecken. Sie bereiten ein schönes Frühstück entweder im garten oder im kleinen Wintergarten im Gästehaus vor. Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt.

La habitación estaba limpia y correcta, buenas vistas. Nuestro baño era privado pero estaba fuera de la habitación. Nos dejaron toallas limpias, jabón y secador de pelo. Había una pequeña cocinita para tomar un café Zona muy tranquila, cerca del lago pero lejos del bullicio y el ruido. Pequeño jardín. El desayuno fue espectacularb café y té, fruta de todo tipo y tostadas con mermelada y mantequilla. Tortilla y l&o mejor, pancakes caseras recién hechas.

Notre séjour s’est super bien passé, la famille qui gère cette maison est adorable, très disponible et sait parfaitement s’adapter. Ils sont également très chaleureux et accueillants. Nous avons passé la journée avec Fais qui nous a guidé toute la journée, il parle très bien anglais et est ravi de répondre à toutes les questions. La chambre est très confortable, la salle de bain impeccable avec de l’eau chaude. Prévoyez des vêtements chauds, l’environnement est tres humide. Si vous avez des activités à faire, faites les le matin sinon il pleut durant l’après midi.

Rajith y su familia ofrecen un servicio excepcional, cuidando cada detalle y ayudándonos en todo. Son todos muy amables y te hacen sentir como en casa El desayuno es abundante y rico. Nosotros teníamos que coger un tren a las 6 am y nos llevaron en coche y nos dieron un buen desayuno para llevar.

El agua caliente sale a muy poca presión y la habitación es fria porque toda la ciudad tiene un ambiente frio y húmedo. Te ofrecen mantas para poder taparte por la noche. No está cerca del centro histórico pero con un tuk tuk se llega en 5 min

Hem estat molt bé i les persones q ens han atès han estat molt amables. Ens han donat molt bones recomanacions per conèixer Nuwara Eliya. Ens ha encantat.

La habitación y el baño (separados en nuestro caso) muy limpios. No he encontrado jamás unas sábanas que olieran igual de bien que en este lugar. El desayuno buenísimo y el personal muy atento y amable en todo momento. Compartíamos espacio con otra pareja y no hemos tenido ningún problema de ruido ni nada similar.

I stayed one night at RC Awkward in Nuwara Eliya. The property was clean, comfortable, and had a hot shower—perfect for the chilly nights. Rajith, the host, was kind, accommodating, and reliable. He offered a car lift to explore the tea plantations and prepared a delicious breakfast.

El Rajith és molt atent, amable, agradable i s'ha ofert per portar-nos on hem necessitat. Apartament per nosaltres sols. Habitacions amples, dos banys. Estava nét. Ens ha ensenyat la cabanya de fusta que també lloga i és molt acollidora.

La pulizia della camera e di tutta la struttura. La struttura è leggermente decentrata e questo garantisce pace e tranquillità. Il centro è raggiungibile con una breve passeggiata. Rajith è un host sempre disponibile e solare. Si é pure proposto di venirci a prendere in stazione! A fianco della struttura principale, da pochi mesi è presente anche un'abitazione completamente in legno, sempre prenotabile tramite booking. Qui abbiamo fatto l'abbondante e gustosa colazione. Se dovessimo tornare a Nuwara Eliya pernotteremmo senza dubbio ad Rc Awkward!

Struttura bella e pulita, avevamo la nostra privacy essendo camere in appartamento isolato dall’abitazione dell’host. La colazione era ottima (buonissimi i pancake!). Il proprietario è un giovane ragazzo gentilissimo e disponibile. Lo consigliamo!

Si vous cherchez un endroit où vous sentir comme chez vous, c’est ici qu’il faut venir ! L’accueil de Rajith a été exceptionnel du début à la fin. Toujours aux petits soins, il a su nous guider avec des conseils avisés tout en partageant sa gentillesse. Au petit déjeuner : les meilleurs fluffy pancakes de notre voyage ! C’est le meilleur hôte que nous avons rencontré jusqu’à maintenant au Sri Lanka. Merci infiniment pour cette belle expérience humaine !

The breakfasts were very good, and Rajith is a very kind and helpful person – it was a pleasure talking with him. There's a bus stop right next to the property, which makes it easy to get to the city center. I definitely recommend this place!

Feels like a warm hug - the stay is amazing and fun filled as it sounds. The caretaker Rajith is sooo sooo welcoming and friendly. He helped us through the stay , made us feel like home and the breakfast was yummy.

Un peu loin du centre, prévoir 40 minutes à pieds. Il y a probablement un bus mais le proprio ne nous en a pas parlé.

Nous avons passé un très bon moment chez Rajith. Lui et sa famille sont adorables, il est très amical et réactif en cas de besoin. Les chambres sont grandes et confortables. On ne manque de rien. Très bon petit déjeuner servi en terrasse.

Guest house au calme, proche du lac Gregory. Nous avons très été bien accueilli par Rajith et ses proches. Chambre spacieuse avec salle de bain. Accès à un petit salon, à une kitchenette avec évier, vaisselle et frigo, balcon, terrasse. Rajith est vraiment une personne sympathique et de bon conseil. Nous avons passé un très bon séjour ici.

Very good stay! The room was very nice and the bed very comfortable! Rajith is so friendly and helpful. Rajith even drove us to Kampagola for the Pekoe trail! We had delicious breakfast every morning.

Its a bit further from the center, but there are enough tuktuks that can easily bring you, so for us it was no problem at al! Or the walk alongside the lake to the center is beautiful.

Ubytování s krásnou užitkovou zahradou, dobrým vybavením a výjimečnou snídaní. Velmi ochotný a pozorný domácí k tomu. Stranou od centra města, ale zase skvělý výchozí bod na procházku skrze "zahrádkářskou kolonii" k Lover's Leap. Vytkl bych snad jen že kvůli blízké silnici a mnoha psům v okolí je to v noci poněkud hlučné.

Tout était super ! La chambre est la salle de bain sont très propres, le petit déjeuner et délicieux. Je recommande à 100%.

Very friendly host, gave us lots of valuable tips for our stay and sightseeing. Flat with cute living room, comfortable beds + extra blankets if it was chilly at night (it was :) ).
