Location, instructions to the building was not given so took us a long time to find the right building whilst lugging our suitcases around a noisy place

Cha Ren, the owner, was super helpful and really made us feel at home. The location was nice out of the hustle of town but close enough to everything needed and the apartment felt safe and cozy- had everything we needed.

Bed was too hard for my liking and the shower wasn’t that hot - still did the job!

Sehr herzliche Besitzerin und freundliche Mitarbeitende. Die Unterkunft war makellos sauber, Bettwäsche und Handtücher waren ebenfalls sauber und hatten einen angenehmen Geruch. Die kleine Küchenzeile und der Essbereich sind ein toller Zusatz.

Es ist abends und nachts gelegentlich etwas lauter - wenn man empfindlich ist.

It’s a lovely place. Charen is incredibly kind and always wants to make sure you have the best possible experience. It’s also located in a quiet area, just 10 or 15 minutes from the city centre, making it the perfect place to relax after a busy day. I originally booked three nights but enjoyed my stay so much that I ended up staying longer.

Wir hatten ein Doppelzimmer mit eigenem Bad. Es lag außerhalb des Hostels in einem Wohnblock in der Nähe. In einer Wohnung waren 3 Doppelzimmer. Es war super dort! Jeder Zeit wieder und die Hausdame ist sehr nett, hilft einem bei allem.

Central location in Tanah rata, lost of hiking trails walking distance and restaurants available. Being in an appartement of 3 rooms allows you to chill if rainy day and to meet other people. This is not charming, it is very convenient

Very noisy, you could hear everything happening in the building. Breakfast was 12rm for an hard boiled egg, a yogurt and toasts which in my opinion is very expensive. I ended up going the an Indian place downstairs : 6 rm for milk tea and two stuffed rotis

Les hôtes sont très gentils et de bons conseils. Le logement est agréable, on partage l'appartement avec 2 autres chambres.

La habitación está en un apartamento en otro edificio. La habitación muy grande con mucha luz, el baño está bien con el agua caliente. La propietaria fue muy amable y nos ofreció desayuno y excursiones.

Lovely flat for a few nights. Clean and comfortable. A bit noisy in our room, but with the windows closed it was better. The bathroom is very small, but we managed for 4 nights (I think longer and I would have wanted it cleaned). We didn’t realise what we booked was actually a room in an apartment with two other bedrooms, so spaces were shared, but that was fine. The property owner is absolutely lovely - helpful, kind, and wants you to have a nice time.

La hamabilidad de Charen y Ja. Te ayudan con todo lo que necesites con una sonrisa. Totalmente recomendable, una zona tranquila y con todo lo que necesitas. Lavanderia, supermercados, restaurantes, etc. El centro del pueblo a tan sólo 5 minutos caminando. Te incluye en un grupo de wasap dónde te informa de todas las actividades que hacen

Grand appartement, lumineux, 3 chambres, on ne se gêne pas.

Un peu excentré, nous ne sommes pas du tout à l’adresse de booking mais dans un autre bloc le C7 au 8 eme. La réception est au C5.

La chambre privée est dans un appartement situé à deux blocs de la réception, équipé d'un salon et d'une kitchenette. L'hôte est réactive et très sympathique. Elle gère pour vous l'inscription à des tours et propose également un petit cours de calligraphie chinoise. Possibilité d'avoir un petit-déjeuner. J'ai passé un bon séjour que j'ai allongé d'une nuit.

C'est assez excentré du centre ville, 15 min à pied, mais il y a quelques commerces et restaurants à proximité. L'environnement est un peu bruyant mais ce sont principalement des bruits de voix et les nuits sont calmes. Il manque un micro-ondes dans l'appartement pour pouvoir faire réchauffer des aliments.

Alors c'est assez bizarre comme logement car il faut passer par la réception qui se trouve au rez-de-chaussée d'un immeuble pour récupérer ses clés et aller dans sa chambre, située dans un appartement qui est lui même situé dans un autre immeuble de la résidence. Mais aucun problème, ça fonctionne très bien ! Et l'appartement est vraiment spacieux, c'est top, ainsi que les chambres personnelles. On a même eu la chance d'avoir l'appartement pour nous seuls (normalement il y avait 3 chambres disponibles).

Très bon guesthouse ! Bien situé (15min à pied de l'arrêt de bus). Cha Ren, notre hôte, était très accueillante. Étant arrivé dans la soirée, elle nous a donné toutes les indications nécessaires par vidéos whatsapp pour faire notre chek-in par nous-même. Les autres jours, elle nous a donné des bons conseils sur les randonnées et les plantations de thé. Et en cas de problème, elle était très réactive par whatsapp. L'auberge est confortable, très propre. Présence d'eau potable gratuite. Cha Ren propose également des activités comme la cérémonie du thé, un atelier de calligraphie chinoise, que nous n'avons pas faites. Je recommande ce logement ! Nous y avons passé un bon séjour !

La actitud de la persona que me recibió; totalmente profesional y muy colaborativa. Ella misma me reservó un excursión por la región. Todo fue muy cómodo.

En los restaurantes al rededor del alojamiento no se puede pagar con tarjeta de crédito internacional. Eso complica un poco la vida a los cada más extranjeros que pululan por aquellas latitudes.

The place is very quiet (the organisation and letters spread in the common areas, I guess, make people be more minded), and the host is amazing. She is very helpful and friendly, super easy to organise your visit in cameron with her. I had a problem with my flights, so all my.trip delayed one day, she didnt hesitate and moved my booking one day forward, very appreciate (5days before). Walking distance to town is less than 10 min. Only stayed 2 nights.

The mattress was so thin, I ended up woth back and hip pain. Didn't extended because of this. Toilets could be cleaned more often.

Friendly hosts, and accommodation is clean and well equipped. The set up is creative, The Cave itself serves as reception/self check in and the location of the dorms. The private rooms are located in one of two separate apartment buildings a few hundred meters from The Cave and are domestic apartments that have been divided into separate rooms. You have access to a shared living space, kitchenette, balcony and bathroom. Breakfast is available at a small additional fee, which consisted of toast with jam and peanut butter, hard boiled eggs, fruit and coffee or tea. The location of the property is slightly out of the centre in a complex of around 8 apartment blocks. These buildings do have restaurants and shops but you can easily walk into the main town taking perhaps 10 minutes (downhill) and 15 on the return (uphill). The bus station is also only 10 minutes walking distance.

No reason at all to not stay at the property but be aware: There are a lot of instructions to convey the above set up, these are clear with short videos and diagrams but a lot of information nonetheless and a number of steps to take before accessing your room. We are not sure if security is a big issue in Tanah Rata but all the doors in the apartment building have steel security doors before the front door which is secured with a padlock.It also appeared to be common practice at both The Cave and the apartment we stayed in to padlock the security closed when you were inside, this worried us slightly from the perspective of fire safety.

Unser Host war super freundlich, sie hat uns viele Tipps gegeben was wir während unseres Aufenthaltes machen können. Die Unterkunft war in einem anderen Gebäude und bestehend aus 3 Zimmern mit einem gemeinsamen Wohnraum, Küche und Badezimmer. Unser Zimmer hatte dann ein eigenes Badezimmer worüber wir uns sehr gefreut hatten.

C’était très bien pour deux nuits. Il s’agit d’un grand dortoir dans lequel nous sommes totalement autonome, le personnel est rarement présent. C’était très propre et confortable.

Il faut marcher une dizaine de minutes pour rejoindre la rue principale mais ce n’est pas gênant.

The owner is amazing! So helpful and sweet. Also really nice place where a lot of locals live with a lot of restaurants. Max 10 minute walk to the main tourist street, so good location.

Cha Ren was so sweet!! She gave me recommendations for things to do in the area and after a tour I did, she made my friend and I tea. I had been traveling over a month and wanted somewhere home like and that was exactly what I got here!!! Beds were confy and shower was hot! I am so sad I didn't get to try the breakfast due to leaving too early.

Extremely well organised. Little videos explaining things were v helpful. Lovely staff. We stayed in a shared appartment with our own ensuite on the 8th floor .Great having access to a little kitchenette Easy walk to town and to the start of the trails. Or take a Grab for the latter if you prefer

Es un departamento con tres habitaciones. Fuimos con mi novia, y nos tocó una habitacion cómoda, con un buen colchón. La cocina estaba muy buena, se podía cocinar cómodamente. Había una heladera óptima.

No era muy incómodo, pero estaba a 15 minutos del centro. Igual había comercios y restaurantes en alrededor. El baño es pequeño, con una ventana pequeña y sin extractor. La ducha no tenia mucha presión pero era buena igual.

Lage außerhalb in einem Wohnblock Muffiger Geruch, da es sehr feucht war und keine Klimaanlage gab. Man musste immer Schuhe ausziehen sobald man ein Zimmer betreten hat

Cha Ren is incredible. Everything you could wish for in a host and then much more. So helpful in ways big and small. She’s a good source of information and always willing to go the extra mile for you. Very good price for the area. The facilities are fine; the location is a 10-minute walk from the bus station but that means it’s quieter, and there are shops and many restaurants right by the hostel. Two bathrooms/showers so I never had to wait. You can get breakfast at the hostel if you have to catch an early bus. Cha ren often offers tea in the afternoon. Good strong wifi. No a/c but you don’t need it in Cameron Highlands.

There’s no really comfortable space for relaxing, but this is a very minor complaint. There are tables and chairs where you can sit, and you can always repair to a nearby cafe to chill.

Gute Lage nur 10 Minuten zu Fuß in die Stadtmitte. Unterkunft war einfach aber sauber. Die Besitzerin ist super freundlich und hat viele Tipps über die Gegend gegeben. Wir haben vieles ausprobiert und waren sehr begeistert.

I had an absolutely lovely time at The Cave and kept extending my stay here. Cha Ren went above and beyond making each and every guest feel at home from the first minute. She sent the best spots to eat and offered opportunities to explore traditions and culture. I was lucky to be there during the Lunar New Year to experience a lovely tradition. The hostel itself is well-situated, and, while simple, it is comfortable and you have everything you need. I will definitely go back if I'm back in the Cameron Highlands in the future!

I was close to the door that leads to the kitchen, which is kind of an open area with the neighbouring building close by. Especially when the door is open, it can be quite loud with the neighbours and kids on the street, while the area in general is quiet. However, I know that this is not at all something that Cha Ren and the team can control.

Super comfortable and clean. Exceptional staff, I accidentally left my portable charger here the day we checked out and Cha Ren the host went above and beyond to get it back to me, she also gave us great recommendations for the area. Great facilities in the apartment we were able to keep our water cold, do laundry and cook our own breakfast.

We had the double room with the private bathroom within the shared apartment - we could watch TV in the living room and keep our food in the fridge. There was also a dining table, small kitchen, small alcove/balcony area and an ironing board. The space was simple but clean (could do with a chair in the room to put items on though). We pretty much kept to ourselves and all was fine - instructions were easy to follow. Amazing value for money too

Location wasn’t a problem for us as we didn’t mind walking, but a tip that it’s faster to access the city centre by walking towards the back of all the flats and when you see KK Mart on your right, turn left and follow that road. Also we drove and parking can be quite chaotic for those unfamiliar with the Malaysian way of parking

Il y a une grande table et une kitchenette partagée qui sont pratiques. L'hotel est pas idéalement placé mais c'est suffisant (à 10min à pieds du centre).

La salle de bain et les toilettes sont dans la même pièce, c'est peu pratique surtout quand la salle de bain est partagée. Il n'y a pas de rangements dans les chambres...

Beds in main room you walk into on entering the property so not much privacy if that bothers you. There is a stall for changing if required though.

La cave est plutôt sombre :-) Un endroit pour coucher, mais n’est ce pas l’essentiel ? Peu de lien social ici.

On a eu l appartement pour nous seul.....situé à 15 20 mn à pied du centre...calme ..bien équipé..il y a des restaurants juste à côté......

The host was always ready to please her guests. She even bought some bananas for me because I was having muscle cramps during the night. The kitchen was clean as well as the bathrooms.

My bed is very low...I have difficulty getting up from the bed.

I Loved this place. The host, Charan, was wonderful. She was so kind and helpful with trips and information. I felt very happy and comfortable there. The breakfast was good with homemade bread. Can't praise it enough!

Chambre avec salle de bain commune bien pour quelques nuits (pas beaucoup de place pour ranger les affaires non plus).

Nous n’avons pas aimé la forte orientation pour prendre l’excursion payante (même après avoir exprimé nos réticences). Je vous conseille vivement de plutôt faire la rando par les trails 10 et 6 menant à la plantation de thé Bharat au sud. Ou alors d’y aller en taxi pour 15 ringgits, à pied à 40 min du centre ville. On peut se balader à pied dans Bharat contrairement à celle de BOH (très touristique et difficilement accessible) et cela revient beaucoup moins cher que réserver une excursion dans le nord qui arrange les agences (toutes les autres activités sont dans le nord : mossy forest etc).

The place was clean n orderly...Cha Ren, the owner is very attentive to the needs of the lodgers. I had to book for another two nights cuz on Mondays the tea factory is closed plus I needed time to rest, too.

There were two toilets with showers like any Malaysian hostels...it was better if one toilet was used to shower to keep the other toilet dry n clean...but you can only propose that if you were few lodging at the hostel.

Unser Zimmer war in einer Wohnung in einer grossen Wohnsiedlung. Die Wohnung teilten wir uns mit zwei weiteren Zimmern, wobei wir von unseren „Mitbewohnern“ nicht viel mitbekommen haben. In der Siedlung gibt es diverse Restaurants, ein Cafe, Shops und Laundry-Services. Ins Zentrum von Tanah Rata hat man zu Fuss ca. 10 Minuten. Auch die Busstation ist in 10 Minuten erreichbar. Das Zimmer war hell und sauber.

We had a lovely stay, Cha Ren was very welcoming and made sure that we knew where to go to get the best out of the area. We didn’t get sent to any tourist traps! Real authentic living experience. The place is very clean and has decent amenities if you chose to use them

El alojamiento tiene muy buenas instalaciones fue muy fácil todo, la pieza con baño privado estuvo excelente . La cama podría ser un poco dura pero no sentimos nada en verdad, tienes todo lo necesario abajo en el barrio . Tuvimos excelente wifi, agua caliente , una TV con YouTube . Recomendado 100%

La ubicación está un poco lejos del “centro” pero si no te da pereza caminar 10/15 minutos vas a encontrar un excelente alojamiento tranquilo y con muy buena relación precio/calidad.

The owner is excellent, she shared a lot of information with us about things to do in the Cameron Highlands and wasn't at all pushy trying to sell tours, just gave us lots of options and allowed us to contact her if we decided on something. We enjoyed staying in an apartment even though it is shared, as there weren't many other guests and luckily we weren't disturbed by noise. The restaurants around the area are really good and not at all touristy like the center of town, some won't like the location at all but we did.

Although the apartment was nice, the bed was probably the worst we've had in 6 weeks of travelling so far, we had plenty of hard beds in Thailand but this was next level, with a small blanket that barely covered the two of us. It was also freezing when we were there so a thicker blanket would have been helpful, or an extra one (there was an extra very thin blanket) . Finally, as I mentioned it was freezing and during our 3 days there the weather was awful, the wind was so loud (we were on the 8th floor) that we couldn't sleep the first night, even with earplugs. The doors and windows were rattling all night long.

The Cave es un hostal excelente. Está muy bien situado, lo que hace que sea fácil moverse y visitar los principales puntos de interés. Las instalaciones están muy bien cuidadas, limpias y con un ambiente muy agradable. Pero lo mejor, sin duda, es el personal: son extremadamente amables y atentos en todo momento, siempre dispuestos a ayudar con una sonrisa. Una estancia muy recomendable — sin duda volvería.
