Reviewed Jun 17, 2026The location of Camdeboo Place is within walking distance of the town so we could take a walk and explore the town and the neighbourhood which felt safe. The owner, Eloise, was very warm and friendly even though we arrived late for check-in, she was so accommodating and understanding. She welcomed us warmly, gave us the keys, showed us around the unit, explained how the fireplace works, how to connect to the Wi-Fi and presented us with an information booklet with all the info we need regarding the unit and the town (including contact details of local restaurants). She responded to my message quickly if I had a question for her and made sure we were enjoying our stay. The unit is very neat, well decorated and has everything you need with a lovely fireplace for the cold evenings. Even though it is technically not a self-service unit, we were able to make breakfast each morning and do a braai on our last night.
We had a wonderful stay and truly appreciated the hospitality. The only small issue we encountered was that the shower temperature was quite sensitive to adjustment. Even slight movements of the knob could make the water much hotter or colder, which made it a little tricky to find a comfortable temperature. Aside from that, everything exceeded our expectations.

It is cure, cozy, great coffee machine :-), very comfortable bed and a great and romantic wooden stove in the bedroom as main heating system. The host is great, very friendly and super responsive. She helped us to book a restaurant (Mrs Simpsons) which is normally fully booked and it was excellent! Highly recommended
Internet is slow but it is an issue we met almost everywhere, so no big deal.

The fact that as a traveller I was suddenly told they do not allow guests to get iron and ironing board . This should be mentioned on their site ( I hope I did not miss it if it’s there ) . I was then limited in what to wear as my clothes were creased . Some travellers are business travellers like myself who had to leave on the morning of checkout and go straight to a meeting and how one presents themselves is very key . It’s strange because I have slept here before and was given an iron and ironing board , now it was suddenly not allowed because they don’t allow appliances in the rooms due to their solar system. It was quite an inconvenience to be honest especially when not warned prior .

The lady she's rude,she doesn't know how to treat visitors, there is no back up for electricity.There was no electricity and the gate is not working without electricity. We couldn't open the gate and the lady told us to leave the car out side the yard.How would you sleep knowing that your car is not safe.we had to fight for that and she made the plan and open the other gatefor us.we left the place without bathing because there was no water and electricity .im very sad

Reviewed Sep 18, 2025We found a gem and we will be back! The attention to detail, the little touches - and the friendly and professional service. This is the perfect place to stay in Dullstroom. The unit is very well equipped, clean and the bed very comfortable. The location is quiet yet close enough to walk to the restaurants and shops. Great having our morning coffee on the terrace, gazing into the serene garden and listening to the wind chimes. Highly recommended.

While the space was generally clean, a few glasses had visible lipstick stains upon arrival, and the linen is somewhat worn and faded. The fireplace tends to produce smoke that fills the apartment and triggers the fire alarm, which may cause some inconvenience. The information booklet is comprehensive, though it contains some language errors that may detract from its overall clarity.

The unit is very new and tiling on walkway to the unit still need to be completed. Arrangements for collection and return of keys could be better.

Reviewed May 5, 2025Greg, the host, is super friendly, prompt and informative. He doesn't shy away from giving advice on the best restaurants and things to see. The place is very cozy, with the fireplace and heated blankets there to chase away the cold. Quite a fancy coffee machine, too.
Wifi isn't very reliable or fast. But then again you don't go to Dullies to be on your phone. So not really an issue.
