Reviewed Aug 30, 2026The check in was a real breeze with the access codes having been provided ahead of our arrival. The Courtyard is ideally located close to the main restaurants in Clarens.
We are not as young as we used to be (>65) and the stairs from the parking area to the room (two floors up) were a bit much - particularly having to negotiate them with luggage in drizzly conditions as they are outside the building and totally exposed to the elements.

Reviewed Aug 22, 2026Everything- stayed here for our anniversary trip. It was clean and comfortable. Jane was kind enough to arrange a gift for my girlfriend and the place is perfectly located, close to shopping points & restaurants.
There were guests that made a noise during a late check in, however it was out of the property’s control.

Best plan is to book for the Monday night as well as the Bakery is closed on Tuesday which means you get an amazing breakfast delivery to your room which will keep you satisfied for the whole of Tuesday at least !!

Right on the central square of the town, closest to all the nice restaurants. The breakfast was a menu choice which is great as you can order what you feel like. Communicating with me was efficient explaining to me how to get into the premises. There are no keys, only codes. One less thing to carry around.

Der Vermieter hat umgehend nach Buchung Infos per WhatsApp gesendet, hat letztendlich gut geklappt. Wir wollten früh raus, haben letztendlich aber doch ein ausgezeichnetes Frühstück bekommen. Alles in allem eine super Unterkunft mit unvergesslich schmackhaftem Frühstück.

Eigenlijk was alles geweldig. Het cijferslot bij de poort is wat lastig (zeker als het regent) maar dat is niet negatief bedoeld.

Reviewed Mar 23, 2026We booked last minute on the Friday, only arriving after 18:00. Jane was in constant contact with me regarding the entry code for the gate and photos where we can find the keys. We ordered a room but got a whole 2 bedroom cottage. It was lovely! Beautiful inside and clean, clean, clean. Well equipped kitchen and all. We did not include breakfast because we wanted to try out other restaurants too. But I must say, the Courtyard Cafe's breakfasts are the best. We enjoyed everything so much, that we booked an extra night. The accommodation is so central but you are not hearing any street noises. Don't look for any other place to stay. We will hopefully be back.

Parkeren op eigen afgesloten terrein. Toegang met sleutelcode. Kamer ruim en modern. Enorm bed en nieuwe badkamer met regendouche.
Iets minder geschikt voor mensen die slecht ter been zijn. Je moet een paar trappen op.

There are a couple of stairs to the room so not recommended for persons unable to manage that....but its worth it for the view from the room!

Sehr nette Gastgeber die mit Rat und Tat zur Seite stehen. Abgeschlossene Parkplätze vorhanden. Die leckeren Kekse und der Portwein auf dem Zimmer, inkl Nespresso Maschine und Kapseln.

The central location in the city makes it very easy to get aroumd by foot. Breakfast is outstanding in the restaurant. The host Jane and the communication was perfect. They are so flexible with everything and very likeable. When back in Clarens I will definitive come again.

Reviewed Nov 12, 2025Das Zimmer war sehr groß und das Bett modern ausgestattet. Parken auf dem umzäunten Hinterhof möglich. Die Vermieter arbeiten im Café im Erdgeschoss. Hier haben wir auch gleich gefrühstückt. Der Ort ist zauberhaft.
Die elektronische Türöffnung mit Code- Eingabe ist praktisch, aber das Schließen der Türen auf der gesamten Etage zu jeder Tag- oder Nachtzeit war sehr laut.

Position is so perfect and close to everything .Rooms are of great standards and have everything one needs to be comfortable , everything works and is new. Stunning view of Golden gate from balcony. Soaps and hand washes provided, there’s a hairdryer in the room. Tea/coffee (nespresso and instant) milk and bottled water topped up daily when the housekeeper cleans the room. Jane is super accommodating and helpful.
There are plenty of stairs - for an able bodied person it was no problem at all. The sound between the rooms does travel a bit - luckily we were a group of friends and were all up and moving at the same time.

Ravissant petit appartement bien décoré, extrêmement confortable, tant pour le mobilier que pour le linge. Terrasse. Cuisine et salle de bain fonctionnelles. Wifi au top. Calme, lumineux et proche de tout. Petit déjeuner splendide à la pâtisserie. Personnel souriant et chaleureux. Bon rapport qualité/prix. Vraiment parfait ! Bravo.
