VERY central location - right in the heart of the town. The room was rather basic, but comfy, very clean and really well heated (an absolute must for chilly winter weather!). Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Parking was somewhat of an issue as parking lots around the property are apparently not reserved for its customers. During the day they were fully packed by day visitors' vehicles, so a couple of times we had to leave our car on the other side of the town.

Le petit-déjeuner. Nous avons eu droit à un service très basique, loin des buffets ou assiettes copieuses que nous avons eus dans tous les autres hôtels sur notre route. Pour 90 rands, on s’attend à un vrai repas matinal, pas à une portion riquiqui. Nous étions trois et nous sommes tous repartis frustrés de la table.

Highland Quarters is a cozy, safe and welcoming guest house with old-world charm. Everything was as good as, if not better than, expected. The water pressure in the shower was amazing and everything we needed was there. The staff were lovely and helpful and the scotch whisky bar and restaurant on-site, night time Security and location just off the main square were all added bonuses.

If I had to think of anything I’d say having more TV channels available on the TV would have been great - seeings as it was the Wimbledon men’s final and Tour de France the night we stayed, and we couldn’t watch the tennis, or find any decent movies. But that’s really minor as could watch the tennis in the restaurant and had a laptop, with good WiFi, so it isn't so much a complaint as an observation. Hopefully most people plan to enjoy the town and surrounds, and not watch TV.

It is very beautiful and the area is safe

The facilities were lovely and location is very close to all the restaurants.

Rooms very neat, warm and at the Scottish bar is resourceful, impressive 👌

loved the accommodation - rooms were comfortable, spacious and beautifully decorated. We appreciated the welcome basket in each room with towels and toiletries. Accommodation is within walking distance to shops. Staff are friendly and and helpful. the bar looked amazing. We only booked one night but would definitely book again when we return to Clarence.

locals walking to work past the B&B can be a bit noisy in the mornings.

Excellent value for money and perfectly positioned near all the restaurants and pubs in Clarens. The onite Whiskyey bar and resturant are also fantastic.

Electric blanket. Clean white sheets. Warm heaters. Great shower pressure. Great location. Easy check-in. They made provision for our late check-in request.

One rug wasn’t clean, but I understand that rugs are high maintenance in general.

Lovely neat and clean room. Excellent location on the square. Friendly staff. We had a lovely stay and would certainly recommend Highland Quarters.

Parking in the street was a bit unnerving until we realised that there is a security guard watching the cars the whole evening.

Good choice of breakfast for a BandB rate. Staff friendly and service excellent. We received a great welcome and were sad to leave after such a relaxing week.

There was nothing that we were not happy about.

Lovely locality in the centre of this attractive town. The owner was very kind to book us in a lovely room that had easy access to the lounge and restaurant. Thank you soo much, this is the best place to stay in town!

Loved the location! The staff were lovely and it was very clean and comfortable. The restaurant served delicious food!

There is no privacy if you open the window shutters. The TV didnt work and we had to get someone to fix it. No hair dryer in the room and the one they gave me didnt fit in the plugs. No little fridge to store anything cold. Otherwise it was great :)

That the off street parking was not easy to use, as it was not level and there was no access directly into the hotel. The access for someone who couldn’t climb stairs was limited.

I liked the friendly reception, and that it was reasonable in terms of cost.

I did not like that a microwave and a small bar fridge is not provided for even if there is a restaurant facility. One cannot use everything provided in the restaurant.

The bathroom door couldn't be opened from the inside once closed.

The room was good, comfortable and well-heated (Clarens can get cold). Breakfast was great. It was a bit chaotic in Clarens due to a market and we battled for parking but some were made available at the back of the property - thanks for that.

Good choice for breakfast. Excellent location. It was near all coffee shops, all the small craft shops, and was still a very quiet hotel.

Loved the location as well as the restaurant being close by.

The rooms are lovely but could do with a little maintenance. A bit of paint and a good touch up. Showers are dark. Would be better with light bright white tiles The bedding and towels is great! The room we stayed in is on the road .. would be nice to have a creeper of plants for a bit of privacy when the shutters are open.

It is quite basic and some areas need a refresh. No hairdryer in the room. We had very noisy group of people who congregated in the room next to us making a lot of noise well past midnight. Nobody from the property intervened .
