A well situated establishment on the banks of the Berg River with lots of seagulls and cormorants flying about. Quiet and spacious accommodation with nice scenery. Quality linen, furniture and accessories with safe parking as well as a friendly host.

Sounds from the adjacent room(s) can be a bit of a disturbance.

Could not use TV due to wifi connection. Warm water was very bad, water very slow and pipes full of air. Plugs went off for a long time. Seating in TV area very uncomfortable.

I really liked everything about this beautiful place! From the host’s warm welcome to every well thought out detail. I especially liked the variety of seating areas both indoors and outdoors. My partner enjoyed fishing on the jetty. It was all so peaceful and relaxing!

We had to wait a few minutes to check in because the host was not home, but they quickly returned once we told them we were there.

The river facing rooms are nicer than the others. Worth checking your booking to get one of those. Host was great, always available when you needed him.

The location is absolutely breathtaking and perfectly located. Plenty of outside area to sit and relax. Very peaceful and quiet. The host is very helpful and friendly. I will highly recommend Rivertide.

Sehr sauberes und gut ausgestattetes Appartment, schön am Fluss gelegen. Zu jeder Tageszeit lassen sich die verschiedendsten Vögel gut beobachten. Mike ist ein ausgesprochen freundlicher und entspannter Besitzer und hat uns warmherzig und zuvorkommend empfangen. Gute Tipps für die Umgebung und den freundlichen Ort. Wir fühlten uns jederzeit sicher und geborgen. Parken im Innenhof. Der Ort selbst hat eine nette und ruhige Atmosphäre und eignet sich gut als Stützpunkt für die Erkundung der Cedarberg-Mountain-Area oder der Bird Island in Lambertsbay. Beides absolut empfehlenswerte Ausflugsziele.

Location, very close to Velddrif/Port Owen amenities and restaurants but with that ‘away from a town feel’ as the room we booked was river facing. Tranquil and scenic with some bird life view from the stoep

Location was perfect. Shops for groceries were nearby as were coffee shops. Setting was right in the waters edge and if one is a birder the morning and nightly flights of thousands of cormorants was a delight. The rooms were comfortable and clean.

The weekend was peaceful and relaxing. Just what we needed. The owner of the guesthouse was very friendly and accommodating and spent some time explaining the area to us The unit was nice and cosy

We had such a lovely stay at the river-facing self-catering unit at Rivertides this past weekend. The unit was well-equipped with everything we needed in the kitchen – it really felt like a home away from home. The bathroom was spacious, with clean, fresh towels provided, and the beds were incredibly comfortable with warm, cozy linen – perfect for the cool evenings. One of the highlights for me was the peaceful view over the river. Watching the sunset while flocks of birds flew over the river was such a calming and beautiful experience. It really set the tone for a relaxing stay. Another special touch was the friendly host, who went the extra mile by preparing a file full of useful local information – including recommendations on where to eat, what to do in the area, and even a map showing the locations of nearby shops and restaurants. It made settling in so easy and really added to the overall experience. Another must do in the area is a river trip on Craclin' Rosie Sunday happened to be Earth Day, which made it even more special to be surrounded by nature. The gentle sound of the flowing water, the call of seagulls in the distance, and watching various birds come and go created a wonderful sense of connection with the natural world. Rivertides is a true gem for anyone looking to unwind and reconnect with nature. We left feeling refreshed and grateful – we’ll definitely be back!

The only small challenge we had was that our Hilux was a bit too big for the driveway leading to the secure parking area, so we had to park just outside on the pavement. That said, the area felt very safe, and it wasn’t really a problem for us. In fact, it worked out quite well as we had the freedom to come and go without worrying about being parked in.

The view from our room was wonderful, looking across the garden and the river, with lots of wildlife and little boats cruising up and down. It was very peaceful in our room, as there were no other guests staying that night. The room was very comfortable and the facilities were good. The sun terrace and sun loungers ensured a relaxing afternoon in the sun or shade. There was information in the room about local eating places and even some menus, which was very helpful, as it is self catering accommodation.

One downside was that there is a fish factory just along the river and the noise of it could be heard in the garden. It did not stop us from having a good and relaxing stay.

Security lights are needed but would have liked a little less light interference at night.

One of the highlights was the beautiful location—right in front of the river, with lots of birds on the jetty and occasional sightings of seals. It was a peaceful and scenic setting, perfect for relaxing and enjoying nature. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay!

Absolutely loved the location and the stunning view. Unit had everything we needed. Bed was super comfy. Felt right at home. Host was super helpful and kind.

Always a pleasure to stay at Rivertides. Beautiful views, very comfortable and a friendly host. There is loads to do, with safe beaches (lifeguards, yeah!), great coffee shops and the best fish and chips. The accommodation is clean, the beds are comfortable and the kitchen is equipped with everything you need. My personal highlight of each visit is being able to go canoeing on the Berg, with sage canoes and life jackets provided by Rivertides! Love the peace and quiet.
