Great location in the old town, with views across to a temple and beyond to the sea. Staff were friendly and helpful and the roof restaurant was nice.

Our room was dark and small. Although clean enough there was a bit of a ‘stray cat’ smell. We left a day early.

The breakfast served at the rooftop restaurant was delicious with spectacular views. The bed was comfortable. The staff were very helpful.

Loved the outdoor seating areas. The staff were wonderful, friendly and happy. The breakfasts were simple and freshly made. The location was brilliant. Bed was comfy and aircon worked well.

Maintenance was severely lacking. Toilet leaking, safe not working, shower heater constantly tripping off. The smell of boy cat spraying.

The location is fabulous, you can sit up on the balcony and watch the world go by. The breakfast was personalised and always fresh although limited. The staff were happy and accommodating. It had a family atmosphere and the seating areas around were delightful.

Small things. We had to ask for toilet paper. The toilet leaked and wasn’t repaired. It was a bit noisy at times. The boy cat sprayed leaving a smell around the room, the shower was hard to use and needed regular resetting. The safe didn’t work, no daily clean. In saying that, the accommodation made up for all these things and we really enjoyed our stay.

Semplice guest house situata di fronte alla Fortezza e a poca distanza dal centro di Galle. Non ho usufruito della colazione ma era stata offerta sia la possibilità di avere del cibo locale che occidentale come da tradizione. Eccellente l'ubicazione, forse una delle migliori di Galle. Le stanze pulite e buono il rapporto qualità/prezzo

Guest house tradizionale forse un po' "datata". Potrebbero prendere in considerazione la possibilità di rivederla un po' per renderla più adeguata ai tempi dove, come dappertutto, continuano a sorgere B&B e piccoli hotel boutique molto concorrenziali. Piccoli dettagli non soddisfacenti (prese correnti carenti in stanza o non funzionanti) che andrebbero facilmente risolti per maggiore soddisfazione dei loro clienti

The location was PERFECT! The people running the guest house went out of their way to be helpful and accommodating. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Likewise for the private en suite bathrooms. We didn't use the restaurant much, as we were out and about most of the time. However, the menu selection looked great. They made us some wonderful cocktails. And on our last morning, two of us has time to enjoy pancakes they made. Really good to enjoy that, with a wonderful view from the upstairs restaurant.

I have no complaints whatsoever.

Die Zimmer sind schlicht und kein Luxus, aber Preis und Leistung stimmen absolut und es war sehr sauber. Vor den Zimmern kann man in Ruhe sitzen und auf die Fort Mauern schauen und den Menschen von Galle beim Cricket zuschauen. Alle Mitarbeiter waren super freundlich und der Essbereich oben war sehr gemütlich. Insgesamt eine sehr angenehme Atmosphäre. Wir würden wieder kommen :)

Excellent location within the fort area. Friendly staff and excellent breakfast options. Clean room and bathroom, room was on the slightly smalller side, but we didn’t really need to spend much time in the room anyway.

Had a lovely stay at Fort Dew, 5 minute walked to the main streets with restaurants and shops.

The location was good, and the look from the outside was alright. There was a mosquito net on the bed, and two towels and soap provided, which is nice.

The reception upon arrival was confusing and unprofessional. The bedsheets were stained and possibly unclean (something small like plant matter dropped on top of them from what we could tell). The toilet had hair on it from the previous guest. The bathroom door didn't close / open properly, and the shower was confusing - lacking pressure and hot water. Overall this was a disappointing stay and I would recommend staff have professional training in reception, cleaning and check in / out procedures. We stayed because it was only one night and we arrived later than planned, so finding another option would have been a challenge. If the place had been a much lower price, perhaps it would be worth it for the location only.

We stayed here for one night and it was perfect if you want to visit the fort but don't have a lot of time. We had the Sri Lankan breakfast and it was very good!

Tout. Le charme d’une vieille maison, la belle chambre bien équipée (bouilloire, frigo, coffre fort) avec une petite terrasse donnant sur un beau stupa, l’emplacement qui m’a permis de me baigner au pied des remparts au petit matin, le petit déjeuner sri lankais, délicieux sur la belle terrasse.

La route devant la maison est passante le soir, mais cela s’arrête vers 10h. Et le matin, tout est calme.

Excellent location sitting on the balcony overlooking the cricket pitch where at around 5pm most nights, a large group of lads hit the pitch. Twin room was big enough for 2, great quiet A/C and beds larger than a normal single. Owners let us go into their house to meet their 4 dogs and 4 cats. Toasted tomato and cheese sourdough sandwich was delish. Can walk from train or bus station in 5/6 mins.

Lovely guest house in galle fort perfect position peace and quiet only 5minutes walk from main area ,had perfect view from balcony looking out to ramparts sitting in the hammocks good for people watching as well especiciallywhen it rained. Great view from the balcony. The staff are great, and they work with a driver, Lal, who is fantastic, ask him to arrange a tour out to Handunagoda and Kagolla or wherever you would like to spend a half day.

The Guesthouse is in a great location within the Fort and the bar/restaurant (Dew@22) on the top floor is a great spot with excellent views. Wifi is good. Staff are friendly.

The room is very small with no place to put suitcases. Bathroom was very basic with a nasty smell when we arrived - although it did improve during our stay. Food in Dew@22 is average.

This was our second stay and the room we had this visit was slightly bigger. Nice view from the room (No. 2). Biggest difference being that this bathroom had been fully renovated and was modern and pleasant. Wifi good. Staff very friendly once again. Dew@22 was, once again a great spot to have a drink and enjoy the breezes and the views.

Clean and comfortable room with lovely hammock chairs on the balcony outside, with a nice view of the ramparts and the sea.

For me, it was spoilt by the constant noise of cars, motorbikes and tuk tuks passing by on the road right outside the guest house, between it and the ramparts. It meant I didn’t use the guest house to relax, just to sleep in and have breakfast. But the room was comfortable and the traffic did eventually die down at night.

Centrally located but it does make it quite noisy, mostly traffic noise.

Food excellent, Breakfast great, stay for an evening meal, you won't be disappointed, especially if they have Tune steaks available, fabulous! 1st Floor, wonderful terrace to sit on and watch the world go by. This is the old town, so the property is old, so given that, they have made it as comfortable to modern standards as possible.

We were in room number 4 at the back, Small room and our bed was against the wall with nets all around. Not good as we are retirees and my husband needs the bathroom in the night! Very poor sleep first night. After that we put the side table in front of the "back door" and had room to pull the bed away from the wall, marvelous, all fixed!.

Staff in restaurant were very slow. It somewhat fit to the slow pace of Galle, but was in the end a bit annoying.

Lovely guesthouse with rooftop bar/restaurant. Nice balcony area with views over the nearby open parkland.

The only issue was that the bedroom was somewhat cramped but it was worth it for the overall ambience of the guesthouse.

We hebben een prima verblijf gehad bij Fort Dew Guest House. De kamer was in orde en voldeed aan wat we nodig hadden. De ligging is een groot pluspunt: midden in het fort, op loopafstand van alle voorzieningen, restaurants en bezienswaardigheden. Alles is gemakkelijk te voet bereikbaar. Vanaf het balkon heb je uitzicht op de buitenmuren van het fort en de nabijgelegen tempel, wat een leuk extraatje is.

Het warme water werkte niet altijd en door de omgeving is het soms wat gehorig. Daarnaast kwam de host wat ongeïnteresseerd over, wat het verblijf iets minder persoonlijk maakte.

Location is a perfect for Galle Fort - the room was clean and large with excellent aircon. The balcony is really pretty too!

Friendly staff; great location with a view across the ramparts. The room and bed were comfortable. Convenient to have a restaurant/bar upstairs and small sitting area outside the door.

We used earplugs as there are many tuktuks and motorbikes going past.

Location was excellent. The bed was very comfortable. Great balconies to sit and watch the activities on the green. The staff were friendly and helpful.

We loved our stay at Fort Dew Guesthouse. It's the perfect location in the fort and really great value for money. We enjoyed sitting upstairs watching the sunset, and swinging on the chairs on the lower deck. We'd gladly stay at Fort Dew again.

The location was very good. The food was simple but nice and filling.

The room didn't have a window but was airconditioned. The beach was very disappointing as it was covered in rubbish. Lots of plastic, cars tyres any and every type of rubbish. It was so sad to see. We would not swim there.
