We asked before if the room will be wheelchair friendly, yet, my husband's wheelchair could not even get through the outside door or the bathroom door.

Reviewed Feb 17, 2025I stayed here both on my trip into the country and 9 months later leaving it. The owner is absolutely lovely and really looked after me both times I stayed. Felt very safe and the room was really comfy and enjoyed the facilities like the bathroom was very clean

Reviewed Jan 19, 2024This place is a dodgy location. The first thing that the host was speaking about without us asking was they have had no security issues. We were put in a room next to the road as we wanted to braai for the night (nice and close to the braai) but we were approached by a person from the street asking for money or a beer whilst we were sitting at the braai. Being a South African security is very important and we did not feel safe in this place.

Would be great if a breakfast option could be included as we would definitely have added that to the booking.

Reviewed Aug 9, 2023Mom's Place is THE place to stay in Upington. We stayed overnight both to and from Namibia, and it really is a homely welcoming place. Amanda, the owner, is amazing and she made us feel so welcome and 'at home'.
There is nothing to dislike at all.

1. The fridge was very noisy, i had to unplug it to allow me to sleep and have a peaceful night. 2. Small space parking for big cars. Still under renovation. 3. No back up lights during loadshedding. 4. No soap in the bathroom 5. No toilet paper... I hope they forgot to replace! 6. The entrance sliding door wasn't locking only the burglar gate. 7. Scrap appliances laying out my bedroom ? Laundry? Renovation ??

Reviewed May 11, 2023The owner stayed in contact when we informed her that we were running late. She gave us bottles of water so that we didn't have to go out and get water late at night. The decor was pleasant, the water hot, just what we needed after a long day on the road. We had a good nights rest to be on the road the next day. Amanda was a pleasant host and informed us of the area and were to go shopping in the morning.

It is located next to a sports stadium. There was a soccer tournament and the music was deafening! We left the night we arrived.

Reviewed Mar 7, 2023I liked that it was close to where we were supposed to go. The fact that it's clean & neat. Not to forget the friendliness of Amanda and her husband. They are hands-on and when we had an issue with the tv, they were quick to sort it out themselves.
The rain showerhead was a bit of an issue for me. If they can sort that out, I will most definitely rate them 5 across the board.
