We loved the setting on the river and was made most welcome

The rooms could be modernised but not essential

The location, comfortable bed.

The bathroom is not up to standard. Not enough hanging hooks or table to put toiletries etc on. No indication of hot or cold water. No shower caddy in the shower to put showergel, soap etc in, everything needs to be put on the shower floor. Grabbing handles for elderly people would be great. Complementary water in the fridge would be nice.

Comfortable rooms and a beautiful view

Flexibility of changing dates , and room was clean and had privacy. They allowed us to check out and leave bags by reception n left for other activities until our return as check out was 10am. Safe place

Noise from other rooms, it was quite noisy in the morning. No back up water system as cold water interruption happened while in shower n could only have cold water

This is the second time we have stayed at the Riverbank Lodge and both times were great! The location on the Orange River is wonderful and we had a great nights sleep in the comfortable bed. Maria assisted us in resolving an issue at 4pm on a Saturday afternoon, otherwise we would have been in quite a pickle! Highly recommend

Good location on river bank. Well-kept property with swimming pool and large lawns.

We stayed in room 3 which needs an upgrade as there was some dampness in bathroom walls with peeling paint. The bathroom is rather cramped. Only mirror was in the bathroom.

What a lovely place and the host was very friendly and even waited for us, even though it was passed the official check in time. Very neat and clean. Beds very comfortable. The view and location are out of this world. Will always go back to this lodge.

Breakfast was delicious and value for money. The staff and management were super friendly, we stayed for 10 days and felt relaxed and very at home.

Gabbi and her team went out of their way to give us personal attention to make our stay very pleasant. So pleasant that we decided to stay another night. It's our 3rd stay and definitely not our last.

Online I asked for a room facing the pool and river, but with booking in, they gave me a room facing the garden, and said that it was what I booked.

Other guests played loud music and refused to turn off. BUT, one phone call to the owner/manager gave immediate results. No more music!

The location weren't bad

What I didn't like is the fact that the person who booked us in not sure if it's the owner we're very rude the Saturday talked to us like we are nothing. I told her we paid for our trip no one did us any favor and also I could see that they are racist. I regret the fact that I booked at river bank lodge never ever again. I had the worst experience no sink in rooms we had to clean my babys bottles outside very very uncomfortable. 😡😡😡😡😡 The fact that we spend money and didn't enjoy our stay in Upington makes me very angry we just wanted to get away from that place really

The lodge is situated beautifully on the banks of the Orange river. The room and bathroom was spacious. There is a shower and bath. The linen and towels are good quality and the bed is comfortable. The room is old, but clean and neat. There is a TV with DSTV channels, fridge, kettle, coffe/tea and a airconditioner. There is free wi-fi available. There is a cement table and benches under a zinc patio - but no view. We highly recommend the lodge if you can overnight in the rooms at the front with a view over the Orange river. The host was very friendly and helpful.

The room (7) is dark and cold without any view. There is no table with work space in the room. The only plug with a multiplug, is near the fridge. The shower did not work properly. The interior and furniture in this room is a bit old fashioned.

The friendliness of all the cleaning, gardening and host was absolutely fantastic. Felt like home away from home. The beautiful gardens were relaxing with an amazing view of the beautiful river. Stunning barbecue facilities and we enjoyed a scrumptious breakfast in a relaxed dining room.

Maybe have a look at upgrading the taps in the shower. If you open the Coldwater only a wee bit, all the hot water dissappear.
