Reviewed Sep 9, 2026Abbiamo alloggiato al Sirène per due notti. La posizione è ottima, trovandosi nel centro del Forte. La struttura è piccolina ma accogliente e il personale è molto gentile e disponibile. Ci hanno aiutati a organizzare una giornata ad Unawatuna, lo apprezziamo molto. La camera era essenziale, l'unica cosa che consiglio è di eliminare l'odore di muffa che purtroppo era presente nel bagno e in camera. Il punto forte della struttura è sicuramente la super colazione che viene servita!! Abbondante, fresca e con prodotti di qualità ( hoppers, dolcetti, pane, parippu, frutta fresca, thè), una delizia!!!
Solo una piccola nota: il forte odore di muffa presente in bagno purtroppo.

Reviewed Sep 6, 2026We really enjoyed our stay at La Sirene. It’s in a beautiful location right by the beach in Galle and next to the walls of Galle Fort. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the view from our apartment out over the ocean was fantastic. It was a lovely place to relax and a great base for exploring Galle. We really enjoyed our time here and would happily recommend it.

El bany estava totalment reformat. Està a 20 minuts de l'estació de tren, per tant, és molt fàcil arribar-hi.

Cucarachas en la ducha del baño que entraban en la habitación continuadamente. La moqueta huele mal en todo el hotel. El wifi no va, la televisión tampoco. El personal, muy mejorable , respondiendo muy lento ante llamadas de auxilio por cucarachas en la habitación, que nosotras mismas tuvimos que matar. La ubicación horrible .

La habitación solo tenía una ventana al pasillo. Como solo íbamos a estar una noche, no dijimos nada, pero tienen al menos una habitación que da a la calle.

La scala a chiocciola per salire è un pochino scomoda e se avete bimbi piccoli tenetelo a mente. Per noi non è stato un grosso problema.

Reviewed Jul 19, 2026Top locatie! Alles op loopafstand, maar wel in een rustig straatje. Schone kamer, met prima badkamer. Het balkonnetje met uitzicht, was ook erg mooi. De eigenaren zijn super vriendelijk en doen er alles aan om het naar je zin te maken. Het ontbijt was heerlijk, keken we iedere dag naar uit! Ook fijn rekening gehouden met glutenvrij. Voor Galle, perfecte plek om te overnachten.

The top floor had a spiral staircase which someone with mobility problems might find a bit difficult. We had no problem at all.

Siamo scappate letteralmente da questo hotel, c'era una blatta grossa come un gatto sulla porta della camera, ho chiamato il ragazzo della reception per farla togliere e non ha trovato nulla di meglio da fare che farla cadere e quella ovviamente passando sotto la porta si è "rifugiata" in stanza. Ho fatto i bagagli e me ne sono andata. In generale sia la signora che il ragazzo per nulla accoglienti, avevo avuto una brutta sensazione anche al check in poche ore prima, sembra siano li per farti un favore. Quando c'è stato l'episodio della blatta la signora è stata particolarmente ostile e sgradevole mentre il ragazzo era mortificatissimo. Per questo non ho voluto infierire con lui quando portando giu il mio zaino dalla scala prendendolo in un modo assurdo per uno zaino cosi pesante me lo ha letteralmente aperto in due strappando uno spallaccio, ho dovuto buttarlo e il giorno dopo andare a cercarmi di corsa una valigia per il rientro. In generale è una struttura con prezzo basso ma vale quello che chiedono, alle 22 di sera c'è un materasso a terra alla reception dove probabilmente si corica il ragazzo. Non è una bella immagine quando si rientra, ti fa sentire tipo "era ora che tornassi dobbiamo dormire" . Insomma esperienza da dimenticare e son stata contentissima di trasferirmi nella vicina Parawa house che merita 10 in tutti i punteggi, ma non posso far recensione perche prenotata direttamente in fretta e furia la sera tardi

Reviewed Jul 3, 2026We liked the location and the view from the room with the balcony. there is a nice, very pleasant old lady at the reception. she greeted us very well and made the welcome was indeed pleasant. we could park our car in front of the property. rooms were spacious and beds were comfortable too. good value for what you pay.
The gentleman at the reception, who I believe is the owner, could improve his customer service. Although we were locals, we would've appreciated being shown the same level of courtesy that was extended to the foreign guests staying at the property. The breakfast selection and quantity offered could also be improved, although what was served was delicious.

Reviewed Jun 15, 2026The view is excellent, the room we stayed was on the top floor. Clean and very well located. Minimal staff but they respond well. Overall a decent experience. They packed us a breakfast as we had an early morning train.
The position of the ac could be better as it is on the top floor and the room heats up pretty quickly. Not having a fan doesn't help either. It was a little bit expensive considering it was a guesthouse and not a hotel.

I didn't try the breakfast, I forgot the check out time and when I arrived at the hotel to pack my luggage the staff downstairs said "are you forgot?" Funny but it's okay. That's our fault cause we explore the fort. Maybe next time inform us of the check out time when we check in. Cause when we checked in, the staff there couldn't speak English. The location is good though :)

Reviewed May 11, 20261. 这家民宿坐落在加勒古堡里面，地理位置非常棒，民宿不远处就是海边了，而且古堡本身不是很大，从民宿出发基本上到古堡的各个景点都很容易走路到达。 2. 民宿的房东老奶奶非常和蔼可亲，我们每次出门回来都跟我们打招呼，很热情，房东小哥也主动帮忙提行李。 3. 民宿的房间很干净，虽然房子是几百年前荷兰殖民时期留下的，但是内部维护保养都很不错，住起来很舒服也很干净。 4. 民宿的早餐也很不错，非常丰盛，味道也很赞。
1. 可能因为房子年代久远，所以隔音效果一般般，能听到隔壁的人说话。 2. 要到达顶楼的房间需要爬一个比较窄的旋转楼梯，可能对于腿脚不利索的人来说不太友好，不过当初老房子设计的时候估计也没想到那么多，完全可以理解。 3. 可能地处海边外加周边绿化做得不错，所以民宿内部可能会看到小壁虎，可能对于怕虫的人来说需要注意一下。

The property is located inside the beautiful Galle Fort and the area feels quiet, safe and perfect for travelers. The host family was extremely friendly, welcoming and always ready to help. One thing we really loved was the breakfast. Every day they served something different and all the dishes were delicious. The stay was definitely value for money and made our Galle trip even better. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Galle.
The position of the air conditioner could have been bed facing. Else it takes a long time to make the room cold.

Our room was simple but comfortable with a very good bed, shower and air conditioning. The real highlight was the Sri Lankan breakfast. The best we had on our whole trip!

The room was spacious and comfortable with a balcony / terrace with sliding window to enjoy views of the neighbouring Buddhist temple, the fortifications and sunsets over the see. The owners were helpful and welcoming. We stayed two nights with an excellent breakfast the first morning and a small packed breakfast kindly prepared for us as we had an 8am taxi back to the airport.

Our friendly hosts here served us the best breakfast we had in all of our 3 week travels. We appreciated the free cold water on arrival and the location was perfect. Lovely old building with basic rooms but spotlessly clean.

Very easy to see all of the area. Small guest house exactly as described and was exactly as we expected. Cosy, basic, clean and very comfortable. Air con was lovely and cold.
We would have loved a small fridge in the room to keep cold water. You could buy cold bottles for 100lkr so wasn’t a big deal. And kettle for cup of tea as we wake really early. Quite possible could have made a cup of tea downstairs however we only stayed one night and didn’t ask.
