La parete del bagno aveva un po' di muffa. Inoltre la stanza Queen Deluxe è di 19m2 ma sembra molto più piccola.

De ligging is ideaal, rustig en toch midden in Galle fort. Het personeel is erg vriendelijk. Wij hadden 2 kamers geboekt en dat hadden ze zo weten te regelen dat de gezamenlijke buitenruimte bij deze kamers voor ons privé was om te gebruiken. Uitgebreid ontbijt.

De bedden zijn niet al te groot (queen size bed dit staat ook in de omschrijving op Booking)

It's within the Galle Fort. Incredible accommodation. The food was great. Easy access to all of Galle Fort. The staff and managers are super nice and helpful!

This accommodation is absolutely lovely. Beautiful rooms and a stunning aesthetic. The location is perfect for exploring the Galle Fort area and the staff are very kind and eager to please. Breakfast was also delicious.

Fantastic location in the middle of beautiful Galle fort. Character filled rooms and surrounds, friendly and helpful staff and a wonderful breakfast. A spacious room with good air conditioning and bathroom and comfortable beds. The mezzanine works really well for families. Very good value for money.

Nothing -only wish we could stay longer as we loved the hotel and really loved Galle-a wonderful place to wander, relax over a coffee or a drink, eat beautiful food and shop. Atmospheric town with very friendly people.

Parawa House is lovely, right in the middle of the old fort district. The rooms are beautifully decorated and furnished although the bathrooms could do with a deep clean / refurb. The staff were very welcoming and cooked an amazing breakfast! We really enjoyed staying here.

My stay at Parawa House was phenomenal! The central location in Galle Fort was unparalleled. The staff was beyond expectation and cannot recommend enough. It was phenomenal. Do keep in mind it is a smaller, local with the exact cultural charm one looks for. 10/10

The house is beautiful and very charming and welcoming. All the staff were lovely and helpful. It's in a very central location and easy to walk around to explore. The room was very clean and comfortable and air conditioning was available. Breakfast was incredible too!

The breakfast was plentiful. We had Sri Lankan breakfast the first monring with fruits and pancakes. The second morning we asked to skip the dahl but they forgot the eggs.

Self and wife stayed for two nights. Deluxe Double Room with access to adjoining private lobby was very comfortable. The staff; Samitha, Rumeshika, Lahiru, Madusanka and Niroshan, all were welcoming, cheerful and very helpful. We had three breakfasts. Though limited items were served in the breakfast, the qty was sufficient. It was delicious. We also liked the fresh fruit and fresh mixed fruit juice. Excellent location in the center of Galle Fort, next to Pedlar Street.

All good. However, instead of serving Pan Cake in every breakfast, there could be some alternative for the guests, as per their liking, if possible. (Suggestion only)

The location was amazing, the breakfast was also amazing. The staff was very helpful and kind. There was power outage and they brought me candles. There was good water pressure and everything was clean.

I have to admit it was a little outdated than on the pictures. Still beautiful. It is quite small, but I was staying just one night, so it was ok.

Fantastisch mooi gebouw en kamer! Alles is super schoon en netjes onderhouden. De mensen zijn erg vriendelijk en maken dat je je welkom voelt. De locatie is perfect, alles op loopafstand.

What an elegant place at perfect location. Beautifully situated in an old colonial building, very tastefully decorated and great staff. It’s perfectly located in the center of Galle Fort. You step out of the door and all restaurants and shops are just around the corner. The breakfast fast fantastic!

Location, breakfasts, friendly staff. I believe I was the only guest for three days. Sri Lanka, like most tropical Asian countries, is the best post dawn,, around 6.30am. Sitting in the quiet and cool with a cup of tea and watching the crows and squirrels going about their morning business is a delight.

My front balcony room was always hot.(Even the balcony in the afternoon sun). A back room may have been cooler. No onsite laundry service or send out and return laundry service.

Breakfast was phenomenal, the staff were lovely and so helpful, rooms were adequately clean and location was centralised and easy to get around

Aircon could be stronger to combat the heat during March and felt it was too expensive for what it was.

Parawa house is in a great location inside Galle Fort and close to all the main attractions. We loved the conversoin of the old colonial style merchants house into a hotel and the breakfasts were excellent.

Not that keen on been asked to pay in advance for the rooms on arrival, pretty unusual and not that welcoming but otherwise any issues that we had were dealt with promtly and with a smile.

Located in the old town and quiet area

First day we arrived, tired and exhausted, there was a power cut around midday. We couldn’t use anything, so waited. Then we went out for a walk and came back still no power. Just sat in the dark in the corridor in front of our room ( power should have been back). There was no communication as to what we should be doing, then I asked for candles, we were given one candle. Then I asked if there is any water for shower, so luckily was able to have a cold shower. I then asked for more candles so we could move around as it was pitched dark. So we went for dinner. The lack of communication was an issue and we were treated as if we were visiting relatives, completely ignored while there was a power cut for hours. Then the next morning I was sitting outside in front of my room, there was a loud bang on the door, had no idea who it was, so didn’t open the door. Then a guy just appeared who was staying in the property next door. Although I don’t know why he has access to our property (which has a number of rooms). He was obviously drunk and asked if I was a worker (presumably because I am dark skin but I don’t have an Indian accent). So then I was asked lots of questions as if I was a staff, and was also asked to take messages to give to staff. I guess there was no contact details for the hotel. And we had issues with the A/C as well, which means people had to access our room. Just to say it gets very hot in the courtyard despite having a fan around. So, did not enjoy our stay but the issues are more about management really and not staff. Sometimes it is really difficult to communicate simple things with the evening staff.

Parawa House was a lovely, somewhat modest hotel. Overall, Galle hotels seemed quite expensive so Parawa delivered for us in terms of cost and location (we really wanted to stay in the Fort). The owners seem to have a few properties so we ended up staying at another property around the corner (which was a bit of an upgrade as it had a little balcony with a view to the ramparts). We stayed 2 nights and the breakfasts both mornings were delicious - one day Western and the other day Sri Lankan. The staff were super lovely and helpful.

Peaceful despite being right in the centre of Galle Fort. Generous breakfast, lovely courtyard setting, welcoming and helpful staff. Comfortable bed, much needed fan and strong air-conditioning!

The drawback of the courtyard and plants are the insects that come with it. Not much that can be done I think.

It was in the heart of Galle old town, parking is near, but in the street, not their own. It was clean, friendly staff. Rooms size is enough, big shower, cozy.

We paid ~300€ for 3 nights and it is overpriced, because the hotel is so small, it feels like renting a room in the house, there is no hot water in the morning, there are no water bottles in the rooms, there is just a 2 bottles with chlorinated water. Breakfast is the same, just making eggs in different ways, same fruits.

Lovely bed and breakfast accommodation on a quiet, residential street off one of the main streets within the Fort. Lovely greenery in sunny courtyard with comfortable couches to relax in. Room was also comfortable. The breakfast was good.

The coffee was terrible and the lack of tea making items in the room. Given that the fort only starts waking up after 8am, I could not find a single cafe that was open and offered tea.

The staff are so attentive, kind, and always up for a chat. Breakfast and facilities were fabulous, made for a fantastic and memorable stay in Galle.

Everyone was very caring and responsive. The breakfast was delicious and fresh. The room decoration is beautiful as well as the bed was very comfortable. Beautiful inner garden with the possibility to be comfortably seated in front of the room. Very pleasant

Lovely old house with bundles of charm. Our room was at the front with a long balcony (with fan) to enjoy. The room, bed and bathroom were all generous, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was really tasty and the specially made egg hoppers were a perfect end to a very enjoyable stay in Galle Fort. Staff were welcoming and friendly and made every effort to help. The property itself is close to the Fort's sea wall and the centre of the atmospheric old town, so plenty to see and walk around with many restaurants, bars and shops. We will definitely stay at Parawa House next time we visit Galle.

Good location, comfortable rooms

Wifi didn't work in the rooms. On arrival the welcome is weak but the request for payment is strong. And when you don't pay immediately you get a letter from 'accounts' saying you need to pay immediately or you'll have to find other accommodation. I could go on but I will end with this. Would we stay here again - no. Would we tell friends and family to stay here - no.

Herzlicher Empfang, aber einige Komfortmängel Das Personal war ausgesprochen freundlich, der grüne Innenhof sehr schön, und das srilankische Frühstück liebevoll zubereitet – auch wenn die Auswahl am Nachbartisch größer wirkte.

Weniger angenehm war die Klimaanlage, die sich nicht regulieren ließ. Wir haben sie mehrmals nachts an und ausgeschaltet. Mit nur einem dünnen Laken war es dann entweder zu kalt oder zu warm, was zu unruhigem Schlaf führte. Die Matratze war mit einem rutschigen Bezug versehen, dessen Haltegummi dazu gerissen war – hier wäre nur einekleine Reparaturen nötig gewesen, was dem Personal sicher aufgefallen ist Im Bad fiel uns schwarzer Schimmel auf, es gibt keine Lüftung: Die Fenster sind undurchsichtig und vertikal drehbar – entweder man öffnet sie und blickt direkt auf frühstückende Gäste (die auch hereinschauen können), oder man hat gar keinen Ausblick. Zusätzlich gab es Mücken im Bad. In der Nacht hatte mein Mann eine Kakerlake auf dem Arm – bei einem älteren Gebäude erklärbar, aber dennoch unangenehm. Für 90 $ pro Nacht ist das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis grundsätzlich okay, wenn man einfache Standards erwartet. Mit etwas mehr Sorgfalt bei Instandhaltung und Hygiene ließe sich der Aufenthalt deutlich verbessern.

We liked the garden. The location. It was lovely and clean. Well maintained. A very good shower.

The room was too small for two people. The furniture took up space and wasn’t functional which meant there was nowhere to place two sets of luggage making the space even smaller.

Broken toilet. Both seat and toilet were broken. I thought I would fall sitting on the toilet. Room near the breakfast/sitting area/lobby. Too much noise.

Wifi was a little weak at times

There’s a lot to love about this place. Location: right in the heart of the Galle old town action but the street is quieter and calmer than many. The rooms are really tastefully furnished. Beds are comfy, WiFi is speedy and the building oozes charm. The team are a delight. Welcoming and friendly, headed up by the lovely Samitha. I also loved how guests were welcome to use the big fridge in the kitchen area rather than having mini fridges in rooms which pump out heat themselves.

Nothing really. This was one of the nicest hotels we stayed at in our three week Sri Lanka trip. If I had one comment it would be to ask guests how they like their breakfast eggs, rather than just making them, as everyone has their own preferences.

We had a really lovely stay at this property in the heart of Galle fort. The house is beautiful and very sympathetically decorated. We were a family of four and had loft room with two single beds upstairs for the kids which suited us perfectly. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were super friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

夜遅くにチェックインでしたがスタッフの方々は温かく迎えてくれました。ウェルカムドリンクも美味しかったです。部屋はファミリールームでエアコンもありとても快適でした。朝食もとても美味しくボリューミーで満足です。

全体的に少し古い建物で小さな蟻がたくさんいました。またファミリールームが思ったより狭かったです...。

Es war eine wunderschöne Zeit in Parawa House. Das Hause ist eine Oase der Ruhe mitten in das lebhafte Leben von Galle. Herrliches Sri Lanka Breakfast. Sehr freundliches Personal, sehr hilfsbereit. Wir haben es sehr genossen.

Our room was on the ground floor at the end of the garden of this beautiful old house. We had a table and two chairs outside and a wooden bench sofa beside the lawn. It’s was extremely civilised. The room itself was fairly small but lots of storage, great a/c and a lovely bathroom with rain shower and hot water. The bed, pillows and linen were all lovely too. The staff and particularly the front of house ladies were so kind and attentive. Nothing too much trouble. The breakfast both mornings was really good, fresh fruit and a cooked hopper with pancakes. It’s right in the centre of town but set back so no problem with noise at all. Beautiful place and a lovely stay😃

Great location, lovely property. Takes you back in the Dutch colonial times through the architecture and design of the house. Enjoyed sitting in the yard and have their excellent breakfast.

Think for the price the facilities should have been spot on, bed side table lamp bulbs were not working. Thought these are some things that can be improved but not necessarily major.

Excellent location within The Fort, kick-started daily by innovative Sri Lankan breakfasts (especially the hoppers & pancakes with fresh fruit !) Our room was ideal in all respects, especially drying off on the veranda after a refreshing shower ! Having a kettle and fast charging facilities were a bonus.
