La Porte Cochère

Une maison pleine de charme, une décoration exquise. L'accueil des propriétaires est exceptionnel. Ils sont aux petits soins avec chaque invité. Le petit déjeuner est très bon, varié et avec des produits frais. Katrien et Steven sont adorables.

Le lit double composé de deux matelas, le soucis c'est que ça crée un creu entre le couple. L'évacuation de la douche est perfectible et lent, attention au débordement. L'établissement se trouve au centre ville et Ypres est une ville vivante, d'où parfois du bruit dans la rue la nuit et au petit matin.

Very friendly & accomodating hosts, helpful & hospitable. Beautiful, post-WW2 historical reconstruction townhouse, fine rooms & accomodation ( eventually airco might be needed in times of climate change, at least upstairs, but that's a matter of time, no doubt). Recommended.

Super gastvrij ontvangen door de gastvrouw en gastheer. Onder het genot van een drankje naar keuze. Zelfs eerder inchecken leverde geen probleem op. Zeldzaam hoog niveau. Ook het authentieke gebouw draagt zijn steentje bij. Dat in hartje Ieper. Goede tips van de gastheer m.b.t. bezienswaardigheden in de regio, anders dan de standaard. Ontbijt is fenomenaal!!

De locatie was prachtig : een mooi herenhuis in het hartje van Ieper. De ontvangst was warm, hartelijk en persoonlijk. De gastvrouw en gastheer deden hun uiterste best om ons een thuisgevoel te geven. Het ontbijt was heerlijk met elke dag de mogelijkheid voor een eitje naar keuze. We hebben genoten van ons verblijf!

We received a wonderfully warm welcome from our hosts who were outstanding - always so helpful and engaging. Fantastic location within a short walk of all key sights. Breakfast was a standout. We had a terrific time in Ieper staying in such lovely accomodation.

Prachtige locatie met super vriendelijke eigenaars. Ze nemen de tijd wanneer je aankomt om je alles over de stad en veel meer uit te leggen over een borrel. Kamers waren heel fijn!

Wat een heerlijke plek om te verblijven! Het is een stijlvol herenhuis met ideale ligging om Ieper alsook de vestingen te verkennen. De kamers zijn kraaknet en comfortabel. De gastvrijheid van de uitbaters zorgt ervoor dat je je meteen welkom voelt, ook kan je bij hen terecht ivm informatie over de bezienswaardigheden. Het ontbijt is vers, uitgebreid en verzorgd. Ik kom zeker nog eens terug. Een absolute aanrader!

Beautiful historic building. Our room was gorgeous. Stephen and Katriana were wonderful hosts who looked after us so well .They were just a lovely couple and we definitely recommend La Porte Cochère if you want a wonderful place to stay in Ypres. We will be returning in future.

The location was perfect for us, near the centre of town in a quiet street. The breakfast was served beautilfully and cooked to order. Our hosts were exceptionally helpful.

Loved it. Characterful period building close to the centre of Ypres, an easy walk from the station in one direction and the Cloth Hall and restaurants in the other. Charming bedrooms and bathrooms. Delightful hosts who welcomed us to their home and were interested in our reasons for visiting without being intrusive. Delicious and plentiful breakfast. Would certainly return next time we are in town.

Voor ons was het overkomelijk maar een badkamer en wc hebben wij liever iets afgesloten, hier ontbreekt een deur en boven de afscheidingsmuur is het open. We begrijpen wel dat dit in de prachtige kamer lastig af te sluiten is.

Midden in het centrum, prachtig mooi huis, met smaak ingericht en hele vriendelijke eigenaren. Bij binnenkomst kregen we thee en koffie en uitleg over Ieper. Heel sympathiek. Heerlijk ontbijt. Gewoon een perfect verblijf gehad.

Zeer mooi gebouw en zeer vriendelijke mensen. We kregen een lekker ontbijt. We zijn zeer tevreden!!!

Het was gewoon een heerlijk verblijf met alles erop en eraan. Geweldige ontvangst. Gastvrouw en gastheer die met hart en ziel voor hun bezoekers zorgen. Prachtige, gezellige kamer, kraaknet en met alle comfort. Geen tv is hier een meerwaarde. Ook de locatie is geweldig. Centraal, gemakkelijk om te gaan eten in de avond. En een ontbijt met alles erop en er aan. Ik kom zeker terug als ik in de buurt ben.

Our hosts, room, house & breakfasts were simply put, all absolutely magnificent!

It was so central to the main square and menin gate, and the house was so elegant with a beautiful entrance lobby and outside terrace. Our room was a good size just what we needed. The owner’s family had lived there for generations so had a good knowledge of local history.

We only had two nights In Ypres but picked the perfect place to stay. The Property is in the centre of the town, ideal for site seeing. Both Steven and Katrine were perfect hosts. Steven gave us plenty of information about places to visit with the help of his many books. The room was clean, tidy and had every thing needed. Breakfast was beautifully prepared by Steven and Katrine with fresh bread, pastries, meats and cheeses. They even offered to cook eggs for us.

The only negative is that the stairs are very steep.

Petit déjeuner magnifiquement servi dans un cadre exceptionnel. Une sublime maison, tenue avec beaucoup de soin et décorée avec gout et raffinement. Un très bel accueil des hôtes qui parlent également anglais et français. Nous recommandons largement cette adresse.

Tout était très bien. Attention toutefois, si vous avez une chambre au 2e étage, c'est sans ascenseur. Aucun problème pour nous mais pour des personnes plus âgées c'est peut être à préciser.

The room was a bit hot on the first night due to the heatwave although the fan did help.

A fabulous home in the perfect location. Hosts Steven and Kathryn were wonderful. Extremely helpful and gave us all the information needed to a fantastic stay. Beautifully decorated house with comfortable rooms.

You can park outside and the hosts will provide you will a parking disc but limited to 3 hours. To be fair though free parking is only a 5 minute walk away so this wasn't a major issue.

The location is that of a beautiful period house. It is situated close to the centre of Ypres, within easy walking distance of the Menine Gate and the town centre.

Katherine and Stephen were the perfect hosts. The room was huge with character throughout and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was fabulous with plenty of choices both hot and cold. Our hosts were most helpful, in regards to advising where to visit and where to eat.

Beautiful house in beautiful surroundings. The hosts were brilliant and they even let me tuck my motorbike in there garage for 3 nights at no cost. Breakfast was lovely too. Would definitely stay again.

Katrien and Steven are fantastic hosts and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. I couldn’t have asked for anything more from my experience. The property is beautiful, steeped in family history, and the location couldn’t be better. Breakfast was very generous as well.

I couldn’t fault my stay. If ever I am in Ypres, I still stay here again.

The house was very comfortable and welcoming, the owners/hosts were very pleasant and accommodating. The property is very close to the centre and only a few minute walk to the Flanders museum.

The hosts were excellent. Very helpful for planning my days and recommending things to see and do. The room was large, very comfortable, quiet and spotlessly clean. The bnb is only five minutes walk from historical downtown, restaurants and museums but I never felt unsafe even walking after dark.

This is a very lovely Bed and Breakfast. It is elegant but at the same time cosy and comfortable. The hosts were extremely helpful with tips on what to see and where to have dinner in the area. The location is excellent, central to many of the main sights. We had a very enjoyable stay.

At first, I thought it might be noisy in this front facing room as there were several conversations in the street - but it was quiet at night. Also, there was no TV, but that too was not to dislike. Good WiFi meant i could access news etc should I wish.

A great location 2-3 minute walk from Ieper town center. Car parking is free and is just 5 minutes walk away. La Porte Cochère is spotlessly clean, my room was very comfortable and had all necessary facilities. Breakfast was very good. The hosts are amazing, friendly, helpful and acommodating. This is somewhere I would stop again in staying in Ieper.

Loved the beautiful house, it was very welcoming and the owner had a lot of knowledge about the area that he shared with us. Our room was beautiful and love the attention to detail. Breakfast was delicious with basically whatever you wanted. Nothing was too hard for Stephen and Katrien, what a lovely couple.

The accommodation was fantastic and very close to the centre of Ypres. Car parking near the accommodation wasn’t great but there was plenty of free parking nearby. Breakfast was wonderful with a lot of choice and plenty of it! The bedroom and bathroom were very spacious and comfortable. The owners Kristien and Steve were very helpful and friendly and we felt very welcome in their home.

Katrien and her husband told us much about Ypres and its history, which is why we were there. They prepared a delicious breakfast for us. They reserved bicycles for us for the day. We loved our stay here! The rooms are spacious with modern bathrooms, and the building itself is a lovely vintage style BnB. Breakfast is amazing, and there are plenty of shops and attractions nearby. The hosts are so welcoming and have plenty of knowledge to share about the area. We wished we had stayed longer!!!

This is an exceptional guest house. The hosts are fantastic and went out of their way to make our visit memorable. 5 stars , 10/10…. Wonderful.

The bedroom had views over the Ypres and was a prefect location for exploring the town centre. The breakfast was a wonderful mix of fruit, cheeses and local breads including croissants and pains au chocolate. Our hosts even provided bacon and eggs which was superb. We particularly enjoyed learning about the building of the Menin Gate from the host who made some excellent suggestions for places to visit. It was a great place to stay. The room was beautifully presented with some lovely teas,coffees and chocolate!

Wonderful hosts. Very accommodating to all our strange ways, like insisting that we have breakfast even though we got up late every day. They even provided sandwich bags so we could make rolls with cheese and ham and take them for lunch. Great position very close to the centre of town.

Very steep stairs but that is the style of properties in Ypres. Just beware if you have problems with this sort of thing.

The property itself was beautiful and in a perfect location but the true gem of this property was Stephen and Katherine - they were perfect hosts! Stephen was so knowledgeable about the area and took time to share this with us & Katherine prepared a brilliant breakfast both mornings! We couldn’t recommend staying here enough
