We liked everything about our stay at CoimbraAmeias! We were treated with such kindness by Paula and chef Luis. The time and effort that has been spent making this guest house feel like home to visitors is clearly a labor of love. The breakfast was absolutely amazing and all of the baked goodies were scrumptious!

The only tricky part was the driveway; but, Paula's excellent directions and alternative parking made it a non issue for us.

Wonderful place! Everything is spotless, beautiful, and thoughtfully arranged down to the smallest detail. The service is exceptional — you truly feel like a cherished guest :) It’s located in a quiet, peaceful area with no noisy crowds outside, and there’s a Lidl just around the corner. The room comes equipped with a small fridge, a coffee machine, and a kettle.

Everything exceeded our expectations. The warm welcome by Paula and the very informative orientation was so thoughtful. The room and whole guesthouse is a artfully decorated. The view is amazing. Breakfast is out of this world. We felt very spoiled.

Beautifully decorated, attentive staff, friendly. Fantastic breakfast. They anticipated anything that you might need. The bed was uncomfortable and the quality of the linens towels, etc. were wonderful. We stayed in the La Casita, which was so quaint. Had a wonderful little outdoor area to enjoy breakfast or drink drinks. You had the ability to buy wine and snacks on a honor system. Also, PAULA was so friendly, and made sure that we had dinner reservations or knew where to go.

Coimbra ist eine sehr schöne und sehenswerte Stadt aber wirklich unvergesslich hat unseren Aufenthalt erst die herzliche und aufmerksame Gastfreundlichkeit von Luis gemacht. Wärmste Empfehlung diese Unterkunft zu wählen.

Es como si estuviera en mi casa con mi familia, por eso quiero destacar el cariño y la amabilidad que ofrecen todos ellos, pues es un negocio familiar. El recibimiento, la estancia, el desayuno maravilloso que te hace Luis, hace unas tostas riquisimas y siempre te sorprende con alguna cosa, en esta ocasión un browni de chocolate. Me ha gustado todo, porque no hay nada que no sea maravilloso.

Ruiz was incredibly welcoming and helpful upon arrival. He arranged for an early check-in and served us complimentary coffee and cake while our room was being prepared. He also took time to show us the map of the city and make recommendations as to what to see and where to eat. We couldn't have had a better host!

The floor of the shower was extremely slippery when wet. It would be good to have an anti-slip mat or something installed to make it safer. Otherwise, everything was great!

Luis is een perfecte gastheer en maakt deze accommodatie werkelijk uitzonderlijk. Hij is bijzonder vriendelijk en het is duidelijk dat hij dit met hart en ziel doet. Het ontbijt dat hij verzorgt, is buitengewoon. Allerlei vers fruit, noten, divers beleg en brood, verschillende soorten cake, verschillende zelfbereide lekkernijen, … Hij gaf ons goede uitleg over Coimbra en goede restauranttips. Verder is de woning kraaknet en met veel zorg en liefde ingericht. We verbleven twee nachten en na de eerste nacht werd de kamer opgeruimd, gepoetst en was het bed weer opgemaakt. Paula heeft voor ons ook nog enkele stuks was gedaan. Zeker een bijzonder adres!

Kleine tip: in de kamer (en zeker voor het nachtlampje op het tafeltje naast het bed) zachter, geel licht voorzien in plaats van koud, wit licht. Dat is gezelliger en dan komt de mooie kamer nog beter tot zijn recht.

Notre hôte était aux petits soins, un accueil très chaleureux et un petit déjeuner excellent avec des produits faits maison. Maison très bien décorée, propre et très agréable.On se sent comme chez soi.

Très bon petit déjeuner maison et avec du choix. Ruis était au petit soin ! Très gentille attention avec un goûter qui nous attendait dans notre chambre de retour de nos visites citadines !

Établissement en bordure de route mais pas gênant car en visite toute la journée. Route peu passante dans la nuit et double vitrage !

Top Notch. I could not have dreamt of a more beautiful place to stay. The service from the very beginning until we left was over and above. The room and the private bathroom were so clean and comfortable. Breakfast on the terrace was more than we could ask for. Beautiful and delicious food with superb service and incredible views. . The location worked very well for us. I wish we could have stayed longer. Until next time.

This simple looking guest house was like a Palace inside. It was nicely furnished with beatiful details and very clean as well. As a family we felt very comfortable. The breakfast was extraordinaryly nice. Many thanks to Paula and Louis.

Die kleine Pension ist mit viel Liebe zum Detail renoviert und eingerechnet worden, einschließlich einer Terrasse mit sehr schönem Ausblick. Die Gastgeberin Paula bereitete uns einen sehr herzlichen Empfang und gab uns auch einen kenntnisreichen historischen Exkurs. Über alle Erwartungen war das Frühstück mit kulinarischen Köstlichkeiten auf 5 Sterne Niveau. Fazit:absolut für empfehlenswert!

The accommodation was absolutely perfect and exceeded all our expectations. The location was fantastic, making it an ideal base for exploring beautiful Coimbra. The property itself was beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, and incredibly comfortable, with excellent beds that made for a wonderful night’s sleep. The hosts were extremely friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. Nothing was too much trouble, and their attention to detail made us feel genuinely well looked after. The breakfast deserves a special mention. It was probably the best breakfast I have ever experienced in an accommodation of this type, with an incredible variety of high-quality food. Everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and delicious. The service and attention during breakfast were absolutely perfect. Overall, this was one of the best places I have ever stayed. Coimbra is an amazing city, and CoimbraAmeias is without doubt the perfect place to stay while visiting. We would happily return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful, comfortable, and exceptional place to stay in Coimbra.

La struttura è molto bella e personalizzata dal tocco della proprietaria, Paula, che una host straordinaria nella sua accoglienza, calore umano, vitalità e un sorriso fantastico. La colazione, servita da Luis in una terrazza con vista su Coimbra e’ deliziosa e curata in ogni particolare. Il mio compagno ed io abbiamo soggiornato solamente una notte ma ci siamo trovati molto bene, aspettiamo Paula in Italia a Milano per un caffè!!!

Wir wurden durch unsere Gastgeberin äußerst freundlich begrüßt, ein Glas Portwein wurde uns angeboten und wir wurden mit nützlichen Informationen bezüglich der Umgebung, der Stadt Coimbra und empfehlenswerten Restaurants versorgt. Paula bot uns an, einen Tisch in einem kleinen portugiesischen Lokal zu reservieren, was wir dankbar annahmen. Das gesamte Haus ist in einem wunderschönen Stil und mit viel Sorgfalt und Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Es macht einen besonders sauberen und gepflegten Eindruck. Zum Frühstück erwartete uns Luis, der Gastgeber, und zauberte uns zusätzlich zum großartigen Buffet ein paar besondere Leckerbissen. Wir aßen auf der Terasse mit Blick auf die Stadt.

Es gab absolut gar nichts zu beanstanden!

Beautiful guesthouse just across the river from the city center. Paula is wonderful...welcoming us, showing us the sites on a map, and making recommendations for dinner (Cordel was the best meal of our trip!). We really enjoyed talking to her. Spending time with Paula made us feel like travelers in Portugal, but just tourists! The inn's room are decorated beautifully. And then the breakfast.... Oh my! Luis put out an unbelievable spread, and then brought out additional delicious dishes. The breakfast is served out on the terrace, with a beautiful view. How did we get so lucky to stay here?

We had no issues with the inn.

Die Zimmer sind zwar nicht sehr groß, aber entzückend eingerichtet, die Betten bequem. Das Frühstück war wirklich bemerkenswert, es hat an nichts gefehlt, der Tisch war geschmackvoll eingedeckt und das Frühstücksbuffet ebenso liebevoll gestaltet, das haben wir so noch nicht erlebt. Schön war auch die Terrasse, wo man abends noch schön sitzen konnte, Getränke zu diesem Anlaß waren (gegen Gebühr) vorhanden. Die Straße vor der Unterkunft ist zwar etwas stärker befahren, aber abends wird es ruhiger und hat nicht gestört. Die Gastgeber sind ausgesprochen freundlich und zuvorkommend. Es gibt einen Parkplatz direkt vor dem Haus. Der Weg in die Stadt ist nicht sehr weit, zurück geht es allerdings ein wenig bergauf.

Leider hatten wir das Pech, dass während unseres Aufenthaltes die Studenten der Stadt Abschiedsparty feierten, das war eine mehrtägige Veranstaltung mit großer Bühne und lauter Musik bis zum frühen Morgen, aber dafür kann der Vermieter der Unterkunft nichts...

Schöne, alte Villa auf der Mondegaseite mit tollem Blick auf die Altstadt von Coimbra. Schöne Zimmer mit antikem Möblilar, alles schön renoviert und sehr gepflegt. Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und erhielten viele Tipps. Innenstadt in kurzem Fussweg erreichbar. Phänomenales Frühstück, liebevoll vorbereitet und serviert. Im Freien und mit Blick auf die Stadt. Besser kann ein Tag nicht beginnen. Wenn wir mal wieder in Coimbra sind, dann kommen wir wieder.

Dass wir nur eine Nacht dort waren (Unterkunft), die Stadt selbst kann allerdings gut in einem Tag besichtigt werden.

Die liebevolle Gestaltung der Räume, das hervorragende Frühstück, den tollen Service von Paula und Luis.

So ein tolles Haus mit Historie steht halt da wo es gebaut wurde. Das ist nicht die optimale Lage, uns hat es aber nicht gestört. Die Stadt ist auch fußläufig gut zu erreichen.

Truly an amazing stay! The hospitality, the kindness, the clear communication, and the tips for Coimbra all made an amazing first impression. We then loved watching the sunset with a beautiful view of the city from the garden at the end of the day, and as others have commented, the breakfast truly is exceptional, both delicious and put together with such love. Some people are born to be hosts and to welcome guests with open arms and that is definitely the case here! Would highly recommend.

Our family stay was incredible! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟The location is a comfortable 15 minute walk to the centre. The views over the city are breathtaking. The way we were received by Luis and Paula’s sister was heartwarming.🫶🏻. The property is a boutique style property with use of traditional Portuguese antiques. Extreme taste. Our rooms had every amenity of highest comfort and cleanliness also high speed internet connection. Breakfast perfection. Recommending this property is a no brainer so therefore I wrote a more detailed review. Thank you Luís and Paula 🙏

One of the most pleasant accommodations in Portugal! Too bad we could only stay one night. The owner Paula welcomed us with port wine and most importantly with a smile and very valuable advice! The breakfast was better than in a five-star hotel. Outdoor seating with a beautiful view of the historical part of Coimbra with the University. We recommend it to everyone!

The host Paula was an ambassador for Coimbra. The chef for the breakfast was amazing. It was the best breakfast we had in many amazing guest houses over a 4 week stay in Portugal.

The guest house was on a very busy street but Paula met us and signaled us where to park. It was a bit of a walk to the University but worth it for such a nice guesthouse.

Luis en Paula zijn enorm gastvrij. Paula geeft goede tips en weet veel te vertellen over Combrai. Luis verzorgt een fantastisch ontbijt en zorgt werkelijk dat je niets te kort komt. En Paula, wat heb je het fantastisch ingericht!

Niets, behalve misschien dat de weg terug vanuit de stad licht omhoog loopt en de weg best druk is (er is wel een stoep).

Greeted by our host Paula, she couldn't have been more welcoming and shared her knowledgeable of Coimbra with us. Everywhere is decorated to a very high standard, very happy with our room. In the morning we had Louis looking after us. He had prepared a wonderful breakfast and made sure we wanted for nothing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and will definitely be returning.

What a beautiful place! It had a nice little outside area to sit and relax and breakfast was plentiful. The hostess and owner was very informative about sights to see and things to do.

There were some festivities that night in town that disrupted our sleep, but that was just bad timing on our part. It also is a bit of a walk to get to the towns center, but is definitely was manageable.

The location meant it was easy to walk into the centre as it's only 10 minutes away over the bridge. The breakfasts were fantastic with a wide variety and a great view of the city while eating. Louis who served our breakfast always provided friendly service. Paula the owner gave us a great welcome explaining the history of the city whilst helping us plan our visits for the next day. Her restaurant recommendations made a great addition to our stay. The house is artistically decorated and there is private parking.

Everything was lovely and we would stay there again. The only downside of our stay was our timing as all the university students were celebrating the end of their year with music at night down by the river. But wherever you stayed in Coimbra you would hear the music!

Desde o momento da chegada até a saída tudo perfeito. O café da manhã maravilhoso. Único item a ressaltar é dificultoso para pessoas idosas ou com dificuldade de subir escadas. Fora isso super recomendo.

The home and rooms were beautiful and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing. The parking was very nice to have and Paula called a taxi for us to take us in to town. She let us check in early and gave us a map and history of the city and gave us dinner recommendations.

Zeer goed en uitgebreid ontbijt. Parkeren bij de locatie was ook super.

The Coimbra Ameias hotel is located near the city center (within a 20 minute walk). We specifically chose it because we needed to park our car. The owners contacted us before our stay and met us when we checked in. The parking spot was easily accessible and with ample room for our car. The hotel and the room were spotless clean and nicely decorated. The breakfast was spectacular and the owners were very helpful and did their best to accommodate our needs: my wife is gluten intolerant and they made sure to get good gluten-free options for breakfast; they gave us great recommendations regarding the places to visit and where to eat and they also allowed us to leave our car parked after checkout while we finished visiting the city. In short: I couldn't recommend them any higher. My main regret is that we only stayed for a day. We now have a reason to come back.

Un goût pour la décoration unique. Et enfin, un petit déjeuner comme nous n'en avions jamais vu : du choix, de la variété infinie avec des fruits frais, des toasts maison, des gâteaux délicieux maison, fromages, charcuterie, confitures et confits maison. Nous avons conscience que ce petit déjeuner est imbattable en termes de richesse et de qualité. Le tout, servi par Luis, adorable et aux petits soins avec les hôtes. Un grand bravo et merci.

Tolle Lage mit fantastischem Blick von der Terrasse. Sehr engagierte Mitarbeiter mit Liebe für Details. Ich bewerte eigentlich nie, mir ist das Grundniveau zu hoch und oftmals zieht man mit einer 8 oder 9 schon die Unterkunft 👇. Aber hier war wirklich alles ansatzweise perfekt.

Wat een top hotel! Coimbra was sowieso een positieve verrassing. Erg mooie en relaxte stad. Hotel is prachtig ingericht in oud-stijlvol pand. Service was uitstekend en het ontbijt uitmuntend. Ietsje buiten het centrum, maar daardoor mooi zicht op de oude stad. Een aanrader!
