We had a wonderful time, thank you! The hot tub under the stars was fantastic! Loved the wine tasting with Brenton.
This was a secluded pod (little house) on the edge of a winery. Prewarned of the size we just brought in small bags and left suitcases in the car. Everything was supplied in this little area, not a thing you wanted for. Bath outside was novel, unfortunately the stars were not out this particular night. Breakfast provided was exceptional including gluten free options. Enjoyed a complimentary wine tasting at the cellar door. It was just an overnighter so small area didn't really bother us. Faulty sensor light outside on the path was annoying as it kept going on during the night, solved by closing the curtains but was nice to have them open. A very unique experience in the middle of nowhere.
faulty sensor light
Everything was amazing! The setting was tranquil and very private. Brenton, who hosted our wine tasting, was very personable and knowledgeable about the wines. An added bonus was a winter special voucher for Brewmoon in the local town. The generous breakfast was incredible using local products. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bath under the clear skies…… Fabulous.
Not a thing- it was truely perfection.
Great private setting. Really enjoyed the hot tub under the stars. Food and wine was awesome.
Nothing.
Sensational escape - loved every minute
As returning guests, George’s Road Wines cabin (the Wine Pod) never fails to deliver. The staff are always very friendly, personable, and welcoming. The cabin itself is great: tranquil, quiet, and tucked right away amongst the vineyards. It truly is the perfect spot to relax and unwind. The bed is very comfortable, and soaking in the private hot tub under a sky full of stars was something really special. We had another fantastic stay and already can’t wait to come back!
Fantastic tiny home, amazing views, great wines and an excellent hot tub on a clear winter night!
Nothing!
We loved the privacy and could have a soak in the hot tub without a soul around, star gazing. Wine pod is quaint, adorable and comfortable too. Wine tasting a must and we even met Pepper the poodle! Breakfast was also delicious!
The views are spectacular, so beautiful
Absolutely nothing, faultless
The peacefulness and not being bothered by anyone
We understand it isn’t big enough for a wardrobe or a cupboard but some hooks could help
The owners were so kind and made our stay feel so comfortable. The wine tasting was fabulous, the views were beautiful and the hot tub was amazing. Would definitely stay here again!
We loved the secluded vineyard location and to be able to have an evening soak in the cedar bathtub was amazing! The "Wine Pod" was very cute and had everything we needed for our overnight stay. The breakfast provisions were all locally sourced and delicious!
As you would imagine this tiny home is not particularly spacious but the owners have utilised the area well. I would suggest that a stay during the warmer months would be optimal as with the glass doors opened up onto the deck area it would create a larger useable space.
Beautifully appointed tiny home with great amenities
It was all fabulous
The property was lovely very cosy and nicely appointed it had lovely and thoughtful touches for guests including the breakfast . It was very private and set away from the winery. The views were breathtaking and we really couldn’t fault it or the owners and staff - all were lovely very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended
Nothing! It was perfect
Lovely scenery, friendly staff, great facilities and lot of attention to detail.
Nothing.
The setting was awesome! Clean, private, comfortable.
Would have loved just another two feet to have some luggage space
This stay exceeded our expectations. Tucked away in a vineyard sets this lovely tiny home, which was very nicely decorated and provides a hot tub with the most amazing view. They also provided breakfast, some snacks and the opportunity to taste wines. Would 100% recommend!
The location and the wine! 🍷
Nothing
Small but perfectly set up - secluded with fabulous views.
An idyllic setting, away from everything. No wifi is a treat. The little touches were very thoughtful.
Outdoor hot tub was fabulous, and cloudless night made for an even more beautiful night.
This is the second time we have stayed here and we both love the ability to arrive cook a bbq and relax in the hot tub. Everything is so clean and tidy and is just perfect to get away from the world for a bit.
Nothing!
Great communication from the owners and great location
The views The hot tub Location to other vineyards The staff and gorgeous dog
Nothing !
Adorable.
Nothing.
Undisturbed view of vineyard and countryside in comfortable well equipped cabin . Even had lights on pathway.
All great nothing to dislike
The breakfast was delicious. Everything was local and fresh and beautifully presented.
A beautiful stay. We lucked out with the weather. It was absolutely serene and gorgeous views of my.gray. Our host took alot of time putting together a well thought out breakfast if every ingredient local grown. Absolutely loved our soak in the wooden barell hot tub. Had a lovely bike ride to neighboring vineyards. George wines were also excellent. Thus stay will definitely be a memorable one for us.
Very well designed. Comfortable. Great hot tub. Pepper the dog was a big highlight. Lovely host who left you to it. Well located to explore Waipara
We were greeted at check‑in by Pepper, the adorable little dog and self‑appointed “customer liaison officer,” who instantly made us feel welcome and set the tone for a wonderful stay. The cabin itself was beautifully tranquil – tucked away among the vineyards, quiet and the perfect spot to relax and unwind. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and soaking in the hot tub under the stars was something really special. To top it off, Rose in the cellar door was fantastic – so warm and knowledgeable, and made the whole experience feel personal. Can’t wait to come back!
The wine pod was incredible, probably one of the most magical places we have ever stayed. The view from your super comfy bed looking through the vines during sunrise, sunset and the night skies was absolutely mind-blowing, super romantic. The silence, the deck and the hot tub completed the package. The tiny house is quite modern and it has everything you need if you decided to cook, the heat pump kept us nice and cozy on a very cold night! Great breakfast (including fresh eggs) supplied and the wine tasting was amazing (and free!). Pepper, the wine dog was the cutest.
Great location and staff were awesome
A real escape from the ordinary. Owners were very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was great. Spa was delightful under the stars. 🌟
It really is a POD and as indicated on the booking, space is limited. So long as you consider that there was no real downside. 🙂
The pod gave us total privacy. The pod had excellent views over the vineyard to the surrounding hills. The serenity of the location was impressive.
Although we were warned (post booking) that the Pod was tiny, it certainly is. The size means that you will want to relax on the open deck but while NZ has no snakes and spiders, they do have bugs that may force you to retreat to the Pod that has no insect screens and rapidly heats up (mid-March) in the afternoon sun. There is an aircon unit that worked fine although with no instructions in the compendium you are on your own with the remote control.
Our stay in the wine pod was absolutely unforgettable! We had just one night, but it was a perfect blend of fun and relaxation. We arrived at Georges Road Winery in the afternoon, checked in with our gracious host, and then took advantage of the complimentary bikes to explore the nearby wineries (two of them are just a short ride away). We enjoyed a delightful tasting at Georges Road before settling into the wine pod, nestled right on the property with stunning views of the vineyard. The wine pod is beautifully appointed—everything was thoughtfully designed for comfort. The bed was incredibly cozy, the outdoor soaking tub was a real treat, and we loved sitting on the patio with a snack and tea, soaking in the serene surroundings. We also took advantage of the option to have food stocked in the fridge, as there's a grill available, and the meal was absolutely delicious. The breakfast offerings were equally charming, with local delicacies in adorable packaging. Kirk and Allison have truly thought of everything—down to an assortment of their wines in the fridge, making it easy to enjoy a glass and settle up upon departure. Highly recommend this incredible experience!
We loved everything! If you have a lot of luggage, you might run out of space fast, so be strategic with how you unpack.
Absolutely perfect for our overnight stay. Everything was so nice, beautifully decorated with every appliance you need. Lovely sunset with wine and a massive storm during the night was perfect for this cosy romantic spot. Breakfast supplied was very generous, with all local produce making it delicious. Waking up to a view of a Rainbow in the morning proves this place is a pot of gold
Saying goodbye...😫
The Wine Pod is very comfortable, peaceful and relaxing. We enjoyed gorgeous sunset views, magpie song and the slow pace. The cabin is well positioned for privacy, has a stunning view and well equipped for a simple meal. Also supplied with lovely local produce and products, all explained in the notes. And plenty of wine, of course! A great spot for a short stay 😁 There is a deck and hot tub to enjoy.? Our stay started with a wine tasting at the vineyard. We enjoyed the quality of the wines and the range, which is also affordable (mid price range) and the hospitable approach of our hosts Kirk, Alison and Pepper. We appreciated the nice selection of antipasto to accompany it, all of which is available to take back to the accommodation and enjoy. They were very relaxed about our check in time, which meant we could settle a bit after our trip before checking in to the pod.
This wasn’t a problem for us as we are fit and able, however it may be useful for others to know the space in the pod is tight and there is a walk of around 150-200m to the cabin along grass and pavers that is not suitable to wheel cases (it is a working vineyard after all!). Don’t expect to take all your luggage in if you have several cases, there just won’t be room. A small backpack, overnight or weekend bag is more practical. The parking is safe so you can leave things in your car. Just plan ahead! Otherwise everything else had been thought about and well catered for.
Pod was excellent. Sky at night best view of southern sky. WINE very good & tasting free
Access to pod could have been better but owners very helpful
We were welcomed like old friends, treated like royalty, the staff are so good, making us feel special. Super wine tasting, fantastic winery and set up. The accommodation is fabulous, beautifully laid out, wonderful facilities: the bed, pillows and shower excellent. We enjoyed the pre ordered Steak dinner, meant for two but could feed four. Very generous. we barbecued, perfect outlook over the vinery, beautiful sunset and great hot tub. Heaven on earth.
Nothing
Peaceful location with stunning views and the property was small but modern and elegant. Dinner provided by the host and cooked by us was great. Can’t fault a thing
It rained but still enjoyed the hot tub 👍
The cabin is amazing. Everything has been thought through, there is a small kitchen with a double stove to prepare food and even some breakfast prepared for the next day. The surroundings are a dream and we had the whole area to ourselves in the evening/during the night. The owners put so much thought into preparing everything (bread from a local bakery, small gestures like the carefully selected bathroom products, coffee and tea from local shops) and gave us the warmest welcome. The hotpot is just the cherry on top.
Nothing
Lovely little very private cabin with a hot tub.
It was very close to a music festival which kept us awake until the early hours. This would only be a problem if staying whilst the festival is on!
Beautiful surroundings and cosy stay, hot tub and views were amazing. Hosts were really friendly, we enjoyed our wine tasting and breakfast.
Everything. The location is STUNNING. The food was excellent and the wine even better. Alison and Kirk are so lovely and welcoming.
Nothing
Great host, Clean & comfortable pod, wine, hot tub, amazing sunset overlooking the vineyard, bbq pit, a sky full of stars
None!
An exceptional experience all in all! The wine pod was well equipped and very comfortable, Kirk and the other staff were really friendly and hospitable, and the wines were among the best we've had on our entire trip! And probably the best part was meeting Pepper the wine dog in the morning 😊 We would've loved to stay longer, and we'll definitely be back if we're ever in the region again.
Absolutely zero complaints!
The alsolute quietness of the location, the only sounds being natural. The lovely location and views from the deck (and bath tub). The pod is small but ideal for a short stay and comfortably kitted out. The tub is a wonderful addition and filled quickly and easily. I also loved that they providdd the prove ace of the breakfast materials, where they had been sourced locally.
Surprised you had to pay extra for breakfast orange juice
Breakfast was awesome fresh bread jam honey peanut butter eggs kiwifruit and mandarins.. location was perfect surrounded by grape vines and so peaceful and quiet
Couldn't find a thing wrong.. loved the place that much I bought a tshirt
Peaceful, great views, comfortable clean and tidy.
Nothing
Lovely little accommodation in vineyard, nice little breakfast supplied.
The hot tub in the vineyard is priceless. Sheep all around. We were lucky to be invited to see the Shepard and his dogs in action. Great experience. Completely alone during the night. They provide you with their wine (excellent but obviously at payment) and with a good breakfast. You can have wine tasting during the opening hour. Very romantic place.
The pod is a little bit tiny but it is still a must visit option.
Loved everything about this property and the location
Being in the middle of the vineyard was special. Waking up to the moon going down with the sun rising on the hills was magical for us. It was like looking at a painting each morning. The pod is amazing, small, cozy and stylish with great heating and superb water pressure. We had the perfect combination of food for breakfast left in the pod for us . Our host was gracious at the wine tasting, welcoming and knowledgeable and shared stories about the vineyard. Having a hot tub outside was definitely inspired. We shared the George Road Syrah in the tub watching the sun go down. - perfection
We loved everything about it
Breakfast was fantastic and fresh, we loved it!
Everything was perfect for us. The only thing to note that in the fridge in the corner there was some mould built up on a wire.
Such a lovely little place! Great hot tub, really welcoming hosts, lovely wine tasting - and a great dog! We had the whole site to ourselves once the cellar door had closed for the day, and left feeling super relaxed :)
Nothing!
It was a very private location with outdoor hot tub to use. As mentioned, it’s a small room but the night view of the sky is beautiful.
Idyllic location, quiet and private.
We needed to be organised to make use of the limited space. Rainy & windy weather meant we could make use of the deck
Everything absolutely superb
Nothing at all
We liked using the bikes to ride to an adjacent vineyard to do a wine tasting there. We enjoyed the Georges Rd wine tasting with Alison and Kirk and had a wonderful discussion on a number of topics. The coziness and comfort of the Wine Pod was lovely & all the facilities provided were wonderful. Relaxing in the hot tub under the stars was very special.
My partner and I loved our night away. Alison & Kirk (and Pepper the dog) were wonderful hosts and pay attention to the details. The pod is in a stunning location with lots of privacy, and has an amazing tub outside. The breakfast provided was ideal and locally sourced. We thoroughly recommend doing a wine tasting too!
Total privacy in a vineyard. Soaking tub was awesome. Great place to enjoy some wine from local vineyards.
We had the most perfect stay at the wine pod. Everything provided was of the highest standard, the comfiest bed and the yummiest breakfast and dinner package. The setting was so stunning and perfect for a relaxing evening amongst the vineyards. The complimentary wine tasting was a real bonus too. Could not recommend a stay here more!
Nothing.
everything
maybe some hanger & space for cloth
Super quiet and great spot. Would visit again for sure.
Exactly as the Title tells! What a fabulous wee nook away from the hustle and bustle of town. Everything is well thought out and those little touches made our evening really special. Yummy food and complentary teas and coffee that were delicious. Thanks for our stay, we left feeling relaxed and stress free, lovely and private.
The dinner was really good and plenty of it, loved the wine and wine tasting. Kirk was friendly and gave us his time to chat. View was awesome.
Felt for the price food could have been included. Bed was squeezed in corner and made it difficult for person on one side to get out.
