Our host Janine was fantastic! Attention to detail and little welcoming gifts like chocolates, rusks and savoury crackers was really special. The unit was really cute and super clean!

The location was excellent. There were so many thoughtful little touches to make one feel absolutely at home. Very comfortable bed and a great shower. Sitting on the little stoep having your morning coffee was just great!

Absolutely a gem in Barrydale. Very well equipped with attention to all detail. Bed are comfortable with electric blanket. Quiet with a lovely garden and place to sit outside. The hosts are warm and friendly. Highly recommended.

Janine was so accommodating and friendly, meeting us on arrival and advising on the different places to dine. The relaxed nature of the facility is what really made it for me

Wir hatten eine Zwischenübernachtung in dieser schönen Unterkunft. Es ist alles gut fußläufig erreichbar und die Gastgeberin sehr nett und aufmerksam. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und die Unterkunft war sehr sauber. Wir würden wieder kommen und hatten einen sehr angenehmen Aufenthalt.

Immaculate and very well situated secure parking with braai facilities

Very friendly staff. The electrical blanket in winter is a winner. It is walking distance to all the restaurants and we were truly surprised that it really had everything a tourist needs! Something small like savoury biscuits was a winner after our long journey!

Lovely spacious room full with everything you need to make your stay comfortable including useful things like some milk, coffee and a small heater as it was coming into winter. The location is very close to several places to eat and though we did not have the time the scenery around was beautiful and would have been great to hike a little. Felt very safe around. Owners really helpful.

There were times I could hear what my neighbours were talking about. This wasn’t a problem as it wasn’t at night, but it did make me aware the walls were a little thin.

Janine, the hostess, was brilliant and accommodating. The beds comfy, we could have a fire, grab wood as we needed and sort out in the morning...honesty is seldom found these days.

I found Over Karoo in to be PERFECT for our one night stay. The host, Janine, was friendly, communicative during the arrangements and very sweet. The place had everything we needed, secure parking, privacy, and it's situated buildings away from the popular eating spots. It was a beautiful! And if you love the sound of nature and birds in the morning with your coffee, this is definitely a perfect spot to settle for the night.

Das Apartment hat soviel Charme, ist supergut durchdacht eingerichtet, sehr liebevoll, mit wirklich allem was man für einen gelungenen Aufenthalt benötigt. Janine ist äusserst höflich, hilfsbereit und Antwortet umgehend. Die ruhige Lage, die Airconitioning und der Deckenventilator garantieren einen erholsamen Schlaf. Wir haben uns mehr als wohlgefühlt und kommen gerne wieder. Vielen Dank!

Liebevoll und individuell eingerichtete kleine Appartements. Unser Appartement war zum sehr schön angelegten Garten hin. Alles vorhanden, was man braucht. Sehr nette Vermieterin. Tolles Preis-Leistung-Verhältnis.

I stayed as a stop over on my way to Cape Town, and will definitely stop here again if i use this route again. Thank you to the hosts for providing this excellent experience.

Fantastic location, on the main road, easy to find and a short walk to many restuarants. Braai facilities also available with all you need at each chalet. The hosts have created a very nice and calm place to relax at after a long drive.

Nothing I did not like.

The shower might be improved with a brick high lip to prevent water entering the bathroom . A curtain could be drawn to prevent splash beyond the lip. Or a glass sliding door may be an option, do no lip The shower in a B&b is critical . Having experienced small wash up facility in De Rust , we found this to be very convenient. Maybe a possibility for the future. Your presentation of the various items such as the Sherry is excellent . Well done Janine and Schalk .

Loved the rustic feel of the rooms, which were very comfortable and well equipped. Self-catering but well equipped and nice verandas. For eating breakfast. Very friendly and helpful host.

Only one restaurant open at the local hotel - but alternatives were closed or closed early due to closeness to Christmas.

We didn't have the breakfast (but next time think we would) but everything we wanted was in walking distance. What struck us particularly were the thoughtful little things (motion sensor bathroom light, anti-mozzy stuff next to the bed, little pair of scissors next to the kettle etc.). Janine was communicative on our way there & met us when we arrived. A very satisfying little stop.

There was not a single thing we didn't absolutely love. Our hosts, who are the loveliest of people, genuinely thought of every single thing that you could possibly need, and it was done with great flare!!!

The cleanliness, charming decor and beautifully kept grounds, and mostly, the thoughtful provision of so many little comforts for the guests. I really appreciated the scissors, hairdryer, playing cards, and numerous other odds and ends that were available for use. The selection of snacks and beverages was very generous as well.
