This is an excellent little hotel, well run, helpful friendly staff, very clean/comfortable room. Breakfast was good and the onsite restaurant and bar are there for other meals/drinks, if required.
The hotel is located on the R62 itself, but the road was not too busy during our stay and we didn't experience traffic noise at night.
Good value and exceeded our expectations.
Barrydale is a good place to stop in the area and we would not hesitate to stay at the Karoo Boutique Hotel again.
WiFi was sometimes intermittent, but only a very small point in an otherwise perfect short stay.
Spotless, artfully decorated, fantastic staff
A little noise from road
Breakfast and Dinner were satisfactory, very friendly staff.
The shower curtain should be replaced by a glass door or screen. Larger bath towels will be appreciated. Very friendly staff
Great hotel on the Main road. The staff were excellent and we had a great room close to the reception. I will recommend the hotel for a few days in Barrydale.

First an only contact from establishment was a curt advisory on late check in not to be tolerated. No welcome message, or thank you for your patronage.
On arrival, reception was not hospitable. Not very welcoming, was shown to our room but not briefed on breakfast or any other amenities.
Whenever the rearwards hotel door was opened or closed our room door and window would shudder. Some soft close doors would be of benefit.
The location on route to Cape Town.
The comfortable bed.
The breakfast.
It took a while to get the room heated. The dining area needs a few heaters in the winter.

Very little natural night in the rooms we got. King protea and ?Fynbos on same level. Manager/owner? Didn’t engage at all, ignored us on both days and only greeted when he was greeted directly. He was having a loud bitching session with someone in a room when we arrived. Not a great way to make a good impression.

Personnel ranged from adequate to excellent.
Facilities ranged from adequate (dining area) to comfy and satisfactory (the room). Bed and pillows very comfy. Aircon a little tired but managed to keep us warm enough
Cuisine and food atrocious. Cheese burger and chips was the order. Burger was covered in some gooey mess of a sauce in which bits and pieces of who knows what were visible. So much sauce, the burger could not be managed by hand. Chips covered in artificial flavouring. Two weeks ago same meal was ordered and delicious. Let's get the old chef back!

Be warned, many others have made this mistake. And received a very unsympathetic response from the manager! The atmosphere was not at all what we would have wanted, we cancelled. The booking is non refundable, so be careful you choose the Barrydale Hotel you would like! The other, Karoo Art Hotel, is a delight in every way possible...
