We loved the place, it’s abit away from the Main Street and it’s the best thing. You need that peace and that atmosphere to come back to. Just ask Janice to rent a scooter and then you are sorted. The rooms are clean, smell good and super spacious. It’s well equipped with hair dryer, mini fridge stocked up with drinks. The place is just lovely! If you traveling to Moalboal, make sure you stay here.

I’m so glad we stayed at Bernis Hostel. It was a 10/10 experience from start to finish. The owner, Janice, is one of the kindest and most welcoming people we’ve ever met, and the entire staff was just as amazing. They went above and beyond to help us with everything: arranging transportation, organizing trips, and even making fresh coffee for us every morning. Their hospitality was incredible, and they made us feel like part of the family. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and very well maintained. Having our own private room was perfect, it offered all the comfort and privacy we wanted while still enjoying the friendly atmosphere of a hostel. We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. If we ever come back, we will definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!

Great hostel with even better staff. A nice and clean room with everything that a hostel needs. Nice pool and kitchen area. Working AC, a good bed, clean toilet. A little bit further away from all the noise but still well within walking distance. They also arrange trips and activities with their neighbor - I got both snorkling and canyoneering via them and it was easy and painless. They also did my laundry.

Close enough but far enough to miss the hustle and bustle. The lovely host. Very clean. The pleasant sitting area and pool. Neighbouring restaurant was quality also.

Janice is the sweetest, most fun person. Prices are what you would expect. The staff is super sweet and they clean very well. They also did the laundry for a fee and our socks have never been whiter ;).

A lovely little hotel in Moalboal. Quiet and peaceful, but only a 10min stroll into the main strip. The rooms are simple but spacious, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The mattress was great after the physical activities available in the area. The staff were absolutely incredible. Janice and her family made us feel at home as soon as we checked in. Honestly this was the best hospitality we have received in the past six months of traveling through Asia. Cannot recommend it enough!

Janice & the rest were very accommodating and the best! We were heartly welcomed and they helped us with all kinds of things (laundry, transport, motorbike, actvities) always with a smile. The accomodation itself was also great with a pool, very clean and spacious rooms and a shared kitchen you can use freely.

Wo soll ich anfangen ? Die Besitzerin und ihre Schwester haben uns mit offen Armen empfangen. Bei all unseren Fragen wurde uns direkt geholfen und immer darauf geachtet dass es uns gut geht. Ob beim leichten Nieselregen unsere Wäsche in Sicherheit gebracht oder morgens eine gratis Portion Mango Sticky Reis hingestellt zum probieren. Auch möchte die Besitzerin gerne ihr Deutsch verbessern, weshalb man immer ein nettes und witziges Gespräch hatte. Wir haben uns wirklich rundum wohl gefühlt. Auch das ausleihen von einem Roller (mit Tank!) war gar kein Problem. Die Outdoorküche war auch ein absolutes Highlight.

Die Dusche könnte in einem besseren Zustand sein. Jedoch ist das vermutlich eher ein Inselproblem.

The room was so clean, spacious and comfortable - plenty of room to put my yoga mat down for some exercise in the nice and air conditioned room. The bed was comfortable and it was a nice location - far enough away from the loud center but still walking distance. Janice and her family were also such great hosts. I enjoyed my stay so much I extended by another 5 days!

Wir hatten hier einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt, leider nur für 1 Nacht. Die Unterkunft wird geführt von einem Österreicher und einer Philippinerin und einem süßen Hund. Hier stimmt einfach alles: der herzliche Empfang, die Gastfreundschaft, die Sauberkeit, alles ist wirklich sauber und gepflegt, die Ruhe, gut riechende saubere Bettwäsche und vieles mehr. Es gibt einen gefüllten Kühlschrank, eine Gemeinschaftsküche, Roller Verleih, großer Pool, einen sehr schönen überdachten Aufenthaltsvereich, genügend Poolliegen im Schatten. Das überaus freundliche Personal und auch der liebe Hund runden unseren perfekten Aufenthalt ab und wir können nur mindestens 5 Sterne vergeben!!!

Es gibt leider kein Frühstück, aber in Moalboal gibt es dann einige Restaurants

Richtig nette Pension mit freundlichen Personal in für mich perfekter Lage. Da der Ortskern in ein paar Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar ist, liegt sie sehr ruhig und damit nicht mitten im Trubel. Die Anlage ist hochwertig und gut gepflegt, mit Pool und Poolbar. War sehr zufrieden mit allem. Wenn ich wieder nach Moalboal komme, ich wohne gegenüber auf Negros, werde ich sicherlich wieder einkehren. Was besseres wird man kaum finden.

Bernis place was amazing. Janice was so accommodating and helpful, the place was small and intimate for older travel needs without feeling like a party hostel. Room was big and spacious and use of bike and close proximity to town was incredible as well as the pool. Would def recommend and would happily return too.

The rooms were nice and clean. The staff were also very helpful and friendly and able to assist with organising local transport if needed. Overall, it was a great place to stay especially if you are looking for a quieter area away from Panagsama Beach.

The host Janice (and Bruno the dog) were lovely! The pool area was great to relax, laundry service was good, we were offered help with transport, excursions etc. Room was good for the money and fitted our needs.

Loved our stay here! Berni and Janice are so welcoming, gave some great recommendations for places to eat, and sorted our airport transfers no problem. The pool area is great! Room so spacious and bed comfortable. Restaurant next door also really good! Walk into town very easy.

Great location it’s just off the main strip by about 10 minutes walk, cheap tricycle every night also in the direction of the white beach which is the main beach everyone goes too!, Janice was helpful & the most friendly host with anything we needed and responded to any issues we had! Room was super clean and air con was good with a fan to help aswell!, Would recommend to anyone trying to stay In Moalboal

Bernie and Janice were excellent hosts, after a very long day (we drove from Cebu City 🤣 madness) we arrived and they offered us food and beer which was well received. They also have scooter hire and can arrange the day trips for you.

The pool was great, quiet location on edge of town and an easy walk to all bars and restaurants. Bernie offers a bar area and fridge with drinks in room, all based on a honesty policy. They all provide free water at the bar area.

Berni’s Hostel is without a doubt the best stay in MoalBoal. Janice and Berni were so welcoming. They helped us with every need we had from taxi to activities to restaurant recommandation. They did it all. They also have their own scooters to rent wich makes it easier. Also, the hostel is just a 10min walk from the center. It’s the perfect balance between accessibility and quiet night. Thank you again Berni and Janice for everything! 🙏

Tyvärr ligger det lite off från själva stan. Men det är promenadavstånd.

We voelden ons meteen welkom bij deze familie. Alles was perfect geregeld: scooterverhuur, laundry, de heerlijke kamer en de rust van de tuin en het mooie zwembad. Het is ongeveer 15 minuten lopen naar het centrum maar met de scooter waren we er zo. Heel erg bedankt voor het fijne verblijf en jullie gastvrijheid. Ik zal het iedereen aanraden.

We had a very pleasant stay at Bernie’s, from the moment we walked in we felt welcome and truly at home. Janice, Bernie and the hostel staff we great and there if you needed anything. We rented a motorbike from them and had our laundry washed here. The room was lovely, nice and spacious and had everything you would need which we find hard to come by in Philippines. The pool was great the cool down in and the dog Bruno was very friendly! We would definitely recommend staying here when in Moalboal if you’re after a quiet and relaxing stay away from the loud town centre. We did a night in the town centre and left immediately to go to Bernie’s and was the best decision we made!

The 10 minutes walk is maybe not the best and safest at night in the dark, maybe to take a tricycle/scooter would be better then for a few cents) - free scooter parking - free outside kitchen - love the calm dog Brono 🐕 ❤️ - swimming pool (and because the hostel has only 4 rooms it is super calm) - rooms are comfortable

Die Lage ist nicht sehr zentral, aber innerhalb von 10-12 Minuten ist man auf der Restaurant-Meile

El alojamiento, aún no estando en el centro se encuentra muy cerca. Allí mismo hay motos para alquilar a muy buen precio y en 2 min estás en la zona de bares. Estar lejos del centro también nos proporcionó más calma y silencio. El personal es fantástico, siempre ayudando en todo y haciéndonos sentir como en casa. Gracias a JR, eres un fantástico anfitrión! (Aunque no me dieras tu truco para parecer tan joven) super recomendable

A small, quiet, high-quality hostel, cozy and comfortable. The hosts Bernie and Janice are charming and did everything to make our stay pleasant. Mancom has a pool, a self-service kitchen, laundry services and motorbike rental. 10 minutes walk from the center where there are many restaurants and a beach for snorkeling.

Вода без ограничений. Собака даже хозяйская тихая и не лает. Отель в удалении от центра, но я с удовольствием ходила пешком. Хозяин помог с турами, хотя в центре можно чуть дешевле купить, но это не существенно

Owners are super nice, we’ve been treated like an old friends. They were very helpful, making sure all our needs were addressed. Also we really appreciate that hotel are 10 minutes away from Main Street, it gave us so much peace. We drove a scooter during our stay, but it’s just few minutes walk from all activities. Hotel rooms is very basic, but super clean and cozy. And highlight of our stay - Bruno, owner’s dog, he is super friendly. I will miss this furry little guy 🥹

Es war wirklich super! Berni und Janice sind wirklich super lieb! Wir waren viel zu früh dran und durften aber schon sehr bald ins Zimmer und haben auch direkt Kaffee angeboten bekommen zur kurzen Überbrückung. Generell wurden uns sehr viele Tips gegeben und geholfen. Rundum war es ein perfekter Aufenthalt. Auch die Lage war für uns perfekt. Fußläufig 10 Minuten ins Zentrum abseits des ganzen Trubels.

We really enjoyed our stay at Berni's. It's in a quiet location but still pretty close to the restaurants, clubs and beach. Bernie, his wife and staff are all very friendly and helpful. Would stay there again without any doubt.

Friendly, welcoming, helpful hosts with good knowledge of the area and able to book tours. 10 min walk to town and great restaurant right next door to the hostel. Didn't use kitchen but great to have the option. We loved Bruno!

מקום מדהים קיבלו אותנו בחיוך גדול והכניסו אותנו לחדר למרות שזה היה לפני שעת הצאק אין שידרגו אותנו לחדר מול הבריכה משום שהיינו בhoney moon🥰 עזרו לנו בכל דבר שהיינו צריכים ברניס הבעלים בחור נחמד מאוד והיה כאן בכל רגע בשבילינו הבריכה מהממת והיה כל כך כייף להירגע בגינה לצד הבריכה המיקום נמצא מרחק הליכה או נסיעה קצר ממרכז מואלבואל, ניתן גם להשכיר אופנוע במקום האירוח וזה יוצר את החוויה לנוחה יותר.

Bernie and Janice’s place is a gem in Moalboal. It’s a little far from the main street, but we actually liked that. It’s very much worth the money and the owners are very sweet. The rooms are nice and well accessorised, the kitchen area is very well fitted, the pool is really nice and quiet and all the prices from the mini bar to the bike rental are very fair. Thank you Janice and Bernie for a great stay!

Just four rooms, very private place with very welcomed hosts. If needed, private cooking station available. Have a well stocked minibar both inbthe rooms and at the cocking station. One good restaurant just next door, the others just a 10-min walk away. Great place to enjoy some days off!

Not the fault of the guest house at all, but good to know: Credit Cards are, for any reason, not accepted in most of the restaurants etc. in Moalboal, only at the main supermarket and properly at fast food restaurant (if needed). But a lot ATM around. Changing money better downtown where you could expect a rate of 66/67 per 1 Euro.

Bernard and Janice are such great hosts! They are the sweetest and everything is perfectly in order and very clean. They are willing to help during whatever hour of the day. Rented a scooter during my stay via the hostel, did a sardines/turtle snorkeling trip with the neighbor Nick. The hostel is at walking distance of the nice places to have dinner/have a night out.

El lloc és un 5 en general.

l'habitació es justeta en tots els sentits: neteja, espai, confort i serveis. Ara bé, el pitjor d'aquest lloc es la gestió, ja que es un edifici enorme amb moltes habitacions entenc on hi viu gent, però el propietari lloga aquesta habitació a booking. El cas es que no es va fer càrrec ni d'enviar-nos el numero de l'habitació i en arribar, els pobres encarregats de seguretat, que no son recepcionistes, es van encarregar de trucar al propietari, que a més no em va deixar pagar allà mateix, sino que va fer venir a una amiga a recollir els meus diners en efectiu, fent-me esperar una estona extra. La gestió es fatal per part de la propietaria.

Nos sentimos como en casa. Nos ayudaron en todo lo que necesitamos. La habitación es amplia, con aire acondicionado y está limpia.

It was very clean and the staff were very welcoming with the property having only 4 rooms it was a very personal experience and we were well looked after. Also in a good location only 2 minute drive from the centre.

Jay Ar was great and couldn't have done more for us. There were motorbikes for rent on site. We could easily walk to the main street. The room was big and it was spotless! Good value for money! Really liked the pool area too!

Great place to stay a bit outside of the busy noisy village of Moalbaol. Great service and value for money.

Staff was great! They offered laundry service which was very helpful. WiFi was decent though could be slow at times. The air con worked fantastically and the shower had decent pressure and hot water. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean.

No really the fault of the property or a huge issue but we had some small ants. The staff tried their best to spray to keep them out but it’s bound to happen in a tropical location. Wasn’t really a bother but something to keep in mind. Also if you’re sensitive to sound you’ll likely hear the roosters very early in the morning.

Such an amazing stay! Everything was perfect. Janice and her staff were so friendly to us. They organised our transport from the airport in Cebu City and everything worked perfectly. We felt like home. The rooms are very nice and clean. We also loved the outside area where you can chill on the pool, cook for yourself or just enjoy a beer. Janice, one of the owners of the property is so friendly, welcoming and helpful. This made our stay extra enjoyable. The accommodation had everything we needed including good air conditioning and a fridge. Would definitely recommend staying here!

The only thing I would say is that I would advise hiring a scooter if you’re staying here because it is a little bit out of the main part of Moalboal but you can easily do this at the accommodation!

The hosts were so lovely and welcoming, they helped us book our tours for the duration of our stay with them and also recommend us what to do. The location great, away from the main street but only a short walk away from it. There is an amazing restaurant literally a few steps away which was helpful during hungry evenings. The room was clean, and have everything we needed for our stay. The arranged pick-up and drop off from the airport is very convenient and the drivers were lovely, definitely worth it.

Nice accomodation with big room AC, Fan and fridge. A bit out of town but easy walkable. Also you have a nice garden to relax, have breakfast within the small outdoor kitchen or a short swim. Berni, his wife and the team are super friendly, give you tipps if required and support you if required e.g. car transport from Cebu City.

Definitely worth it and good value for money. What you see it what you get. The photos describe the hotel perfectly! Thank you to Bernie and Janice for the warm stay, you feel at home with them! They gave us a real family feeling, no stress! The hotel is quietly located & the rooms are clean and spaceous. Everything you need is provided, there is a small fridge aswell. They maybe don’t appear as “new” but the room is comfortable and really clean! I think the best we’ve had in Philippines so far. They help you with activities and offer motorbike rental too.

Very quiet hostel outside the town. You can take tricycle or walk for 10-12 minutes to town. We walked every night and we always felt safe. The owner and staff were super nice. The room were spacious, the shower pressure was great. Pool area was very good too.
