Muy buena ubicación para llegar caminando al puerto desde el que salen los barcos para las actividades de día como buceo y snorkel.

Reviewed Sep 1, 2026Clean airconditioned room. No window but the internal lighting was good. Comfortable bed. Smallish room but enough storage space for two people. Clean bathroom with hot shower. The rear outside balcony had an area for drying clothes which was very useful. Small communal seating area with some books to read. Quirky downstairs cafe and shop. The breakfast was simple but fine. Different menus available and good waffles with honey. The staff were very pleasant and kindly served breakfast at 0715 on request (usually from 0730) so we could get to the jetty on time for a snorkel trip. Excellent location for the waterfront, fish market and restaurants. Jetty Pelancong about 20 mins walk
Dark windowless room lacked ventilation but lighting and aircon compensated for this. Otherwise everything fine

Reviewed Aug 31, 2026Amazing è un' isola felice a Semporna che non è un luogo dove è facile passare del tempo... La povertà e la miseria di questa città purtroppo è molto evidente e molto triste. Tuttavia è una comoda base abbastanza economica per le gite in giornata alle belle isole senza spendere le cifre folli che chiedono per dormire sulle palafitte. La gestione di quasi tutto qui è Cinese e questo non lascia spazio forse alla gente del luogo di guadagnare quanto basta per vivere... questa è l'idea che ci siamo fatti. Amazing Caffè comunque è un luogo pulito, gestito da belle persone locali e che ha tutti i confort che servono tra cui una colazione strepitosa. Non ha la finestra la camera? Meglio così non c'è nulla da vedere fuori. In due minuti a piedi sarete sul molo per le gite e per i ristoranti dove mangiare. Ci sono tutti i servizi in città: supermercati, agenzie per le gite, lavanderie, bisogno solo cercare e aver voglia di camminare un po' in città.
La struttura Amazing era perfetta! Nulla da dire, però la povertà e la miseria della gente che vive in questa città a fronte dei costi assurdi che chiedono le strutture per dormire sulle palafitte in mare è vergognosa! Si lucra su un luogo naturale marino meraviglioso e si fa finta che non esistono le persone che vivono in strada senza nulla... Spero che posti come Amazing Caffè possano fare qualcosa per cambiare questa situazione nel tempo.

Reviewed Aug 21, 2026A szállás egy nyugati hangulatú kávézóból nyílik az emeleten. Pár napra itt megszállni okos döntés, hogy a közelből indulj egy szuper csónaktúrára. Kiemelném a tisztaságot, mert úgy tűnt, hogy a szállásadó nagy gondot fordít erre. Kiemelném, hogy 18 napos malajziai utazunk során itt ittuk a legjobb cappuccino-t (ez Európában amúgy café latte lenne).
A szobá kissé kicsi, de praktikus. Szerintem a felszereltségbe be lehetett volna építeni vízforralót és egy kisebb hűtőszekrényt.

Reviewed Aug 12, 2026La parte migliore di questa struttura è sicuramente il café: molto carino, curato e con un'atmosfera piacevole e rilassata. Anche gli spazi comuni sono davvero belli, ideali per sedersi, bere qualcosa o mangiare e rilassarsi dopo una giornata in giro. Il personale è molto gentile, disponibile e accogliente, e questo è sicuramente un punto a favore della struttura. Per quanto riguarda la camera, l'unico aspetto che ho apprezzato è stata la pulizia. Il café e il personale meritano sicuramente una nota positiva. Semplicità e cibo buono.
La camera era troppo buia e l'ambiente non mi è sembrato particolarmente piacevole. Fuori era molto caotica. Durante il soggiorno è anche andata via la corrente per un certo periodo. Considerando il caldo di Semporna, senza aria condizionata è stato praticamente impossibile dormire. In questo caso, però, non posso certamente attribuire la colpa alla struttura: sono inconvenienti che possono capitare e che non dipendono direttamente dall'hotel. Il problema principale, per me, è però la zona circostante. Una volta usciti dalla struttura, l'ambiente è apparso molto caotico e, personalmente, l'ho trovato piuttosto squallido e fatiscente. È una cosa che ha inciso molto sulla mia esperienza, perché sono una persona a cui piace uscire, camminare, esplorare e vivere le città in cui viaggio. Per fortuna ho soggiornato solamente una notte e, di fatto, ho trascorso quasi tutto il tempo all'interno della struttura. Per un soggiorno così breve può essere una soluzione accettabile, soprattutto se si ha bisogno di una base per le escursioni o per una notte di passaggio.

Reviewed Aug 6, 2026Abbiamo scelto questa struttura per trascorrere una notte a Semporna e ci siamo trovati molto bene. La posizione è ottima, a pochi passi da ristoranti, negozi e dai principali servizi. La struttura è pulita e si trova sopra una graziosa caffetteria, ideale per una pausa, con un piccolo negozio ricco di souvenir originali. La camera era semplice, pulita e funzionale; pur non avendo una finestra, è risultata comunque confortevole per un breve soggiorno. Anche la colazione è stata buona e soddisfacente.

Kohv nagu sageli Malaisias pigem lahjapoolne aga mitte instant cafe. Asukoht oli meie jaoks vägfa hea, Scuba Junkie kontor kust järgmine hommik jätkasime on enamvähem üle tänava. Igasugu poed ja söögikohad ka kohe sealsamas tänavatel.
Pole vaja tugevalõhnalisi õhuvärskendajaid tuppa panna, mõned inimesed ei talu tugevaid lõhnu või on allergilised. Uksed kostavad väga läbi.

Reviewed Jul 14, 2026Located right on the waterfront, Amazing is located right in the thick of things. It’s a gritty area, but Amazing offers a respite from the scene. Clean, modern, and comfortable. A great included breakfast with other yummy things in the menu like delicious chocolate waffles and a refreshing coconut latte. Staff were friendly and helpful. A good place for atypical, but cool, souvenirs.

The only thing I would mention is that the toilet shower was leaking one drop at a time which created an unnecessary pool of water on the floor.

Reviewed Jul 12, 2026The location is very convienient if you are diving with Scuba Junkie, as it is just across the road. There are some places to eat very close by (Borneo Rock Café, Borneo Rock Restaurant). The staff are friendly. The café downstairs is spacious and the staff were happy to let me work there for a few hours each day. For breakfast, you can choose between three or four options.
The area is not very pleasant to walk around. There are often children begging for money or food which is difficult. However this is not really in Amazing Room's control.

It was a little loud at night due to dogs barking, but nothing the hotel could do about it.

Toen ik aangaf dat mijn kamer wel heel warm was, kwamen ze meteen om te kijken wat het probleem was en hebben ze het probleem opgelost en een alternatieve werkruimte aangeboden. Fijne mensen en het hotel en de kamer waren heel schoon. De douche werkte goed met echt warm water. Dit hotel raad ik aan.

I wouldn’t stay in Semporna unless you absolutely have to (just research the area and you’ll see what I mean). If you need to stay somewhere for one night before a boat to your island destination, this is a good option. The only breakfast choice was essentially pot noodles. Apparently they usually have more options but this was the only one for our stay.

Reviewed Jan 20, 2026The room was as described. It had enough space for a solo traveller like myself. My room did not have a window, but this is mentioned clearly when making the booking. The free WiFi is great, was quite useful as there is no TV in the room. The bed was comfortable, and the water pressure in the shower was good. It is very close to a bunch of restaurants and mamaks, as well as the jetty, which is typically for the divers/snorkelers.
The bathroom exhaust fan was not working/does not have a switch which meant that it could get a little bit musty.

No separation of wet and dry in the bathroom. Quite expensive for what it is, but that's just a Semporna thing perhaps.

Reviewed Dec 5, 2025Amazing Rooms offers a perfect base for island hopping, thanks to its exceptional location right next to the jetty and dive shops. The rooms are clean, comfortable and the incredibly helpful staff who are ready to assist with anything.
Because of its central location near the jetty and town center, some rooms can be affected by noise, especially during early morning activity. Furthermore, while the rooms are well-maintained, the general building facilities and communal areas are basic and may lack certain modern comforts.

Reviewed Nov 18, 2025Small boutique hotel that has a cozy vibes . Location is convenient. Restaurant, wet market and Supermarket all within minutes of walking. Friendly and helpful staff that provides great hospitality. Breakfast provided is of decent quality.
Room is a bit small. The one we had comes with window (not really a balcony) looking out street level. No elevator available, so climbing up stairs to the room can be a bit of a challenge if you have heavy bags to carry up, during check-in and out. Bathroom is small but still ok to move around. Perhaps , having a shower curtain to block away water to the sink and toilet bowl will be good. Otherwise, wetting the entire bathroom floor during shower can be a little messy.
