Sehr freundliches Personal, direkt am Strand und sehr gut ausgestattete sowie saubere Zimmer (Kühlschrank, Safe, Mükennetz, Kommode, Ablageflächen, Haken). Deshalb war das bereits unser zweiter Aufenthalt im Neela's.

Well maintained, perfect location

Neela's was as lovely as I remember it being when I visited 14 years ago. Its location is great, the staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are very nice and the air conditioning works well.

The avenue Neela's is located on has gotten busier, and the bus and truck drivers certainly don't pay attention to any traffic rules, if in fact any exist!

Had a lovely stay at Neela’s. The staff were friendly and helpful. The kitchen was accommodating to our dietary needs. Was even more enjoyable to sit and enjoy a meal with a view of the beach.

We initially stayed in a double room, then moved upstairs to a double with private balcony and sea view. Both were good, interesting the double had a better bathroom. But the private balcony and sea view made the room on second floor a winner. We booked it for our last 4 days as had enough of traveling around, perfect. Added bonus of a fridge to keep cold drinks in

Toplage direkt am Surferstrand mit vielen Surfschulen. Restaurant war auch top. Bester gegrillter Calamari ever! Viele Bars und Restaurants im direkten Umfeld.

Un petit hôtel posé sur la plage avec une chambre vue mer très bien décorée. étant en plein centre, tout est accessible à pieds. Petit déjeuner les pieds dans le sable face à la mer. Personnel sympathique. Sites de snorkeling à proximité.

Il y a peu de transats et matelas dispos sur la plage pour l'hôtel

Neelas Beach liegt an einem wunderschönen, weitläufigen Strandabschnitt. Die Zimmer sind sehr gut eingerichtet, alles ist sehr sauber und das Bett ist groß und sehr bequem. Das gesamte Personal ist sehr freundlich und bemüht sich stets darum, dass die Gäste eine möglichst schöne Zeit haben. Auch das Restaurant ist hervorragend – egal ob beim Frühstück, Mittag- oder Abendessen, die Qualität und Auswahl sind wirklich sehr gut. Besonders angenehm sind die kostenfreien, hoteleigenen Liegen am Strand, die sehr bequem sind. Außerdem hat man die Möglichkeit, direkt vor dem Hotel zu surfen. Auf Wunsch konnten wir sogar einen Late Check-out bekommen, was unseren Aufenthalt noch entspannter gemacht hat. Ich würde jederzeit wieder hierher kommen!

Super Lage, direkt am Meer und sehr nettes Personal! Wir durften da auch problemlos unser elektro Tuktuk aufladen. Vielen Dank nochmals dafür :)

Ligger helt supert til med adgang direkte til stranda. Intimt lokale både ute og inne. Veldig god mat, variert meny. Vi hadde toppleiligheten med stor terrasse og utsikt direkte til havet

Das Zimmer mit Meerblick ist wunderschön und hat uns sehr gefallen. Das Personal ist super freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Restaurant kocht mega lecker.

Das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und fanden die Lage super, mit eigenem Strandabschnitt.

Sea view from verandah but wanted beach front, needed more cooler breeze

The rooms were lovely. We had a sea view and balcony. Beautiful hearing the ocean at night. Staff were lovely. Appreciated the large bottles of water in the room.

We went during off season, so the restaurant was closed. Hard to comment on anything being bad.

Very comfortable room and clean and close to everything needed in town. Very nice host and personell I came with car and left at 4am for the airport, Neela woke up for me and said goodbye ! Such a nice gesture which I did not expect.

The hotel's location was excellent, as you went through it to get to the beach. I booked a basic room with AC with basic comforts compared to the European standards but it was exactly what I needed to relax. The hotel also has a small coffee/restaurant, beachfront. It was a value for money room.

The AC rooms are being charged extra

One night a terrible singer ( i think from someplace next door ?) droned on singing cheesy covers into the night, which was too bad cos i had booked Neelas thinking it might be at quieter end of beach

Looked like photos, all the staff were super friendly. I got a free upgrade so the room was spacious no complaints would definitely stay here again. Free beach bed on the beach & beach towels. Great location and the room was Clean and nice refreshing welcome drink on arrival too

Very clean and spacious. Location spot on. Beach is their back garden. Close to the train station and bus stops. Staff very welcoming and always great to be greeted with a happy face. So pleased it was a AC room as it was hot. We were able to see new hatchings released into the sea on our 1st night at the accommodation. Other beaches can be reached by travelling on local buses, a must experience!

Based on previous comments, we booked the large room at the top of the hotel. This was lovely, with a large balcony and sea view. The aircon in the room was excellent and very quiet, but I did have a slight issue in that the bed just had a sheet, and with any aircon on I was too cold in bed - or without it on, I was too warm. I ended up sleeping under a towel a couple of nights, but was given a blanket when I remembered to ask for one. The breakfasts were lovely, other meals really nice and well priced.

Having given our card details on booking, we were shocked to find that they only took cash payments when we came to check out. As we were about to leave Sri Lanka, we didn't have cash and had to go to a service till to get it. I would definitely recommend that people confirm what payment method they will be taking when they check in here.

The hotel has a very good location. There are many great restaurants right next to it. The center of Hikkaduwa is not as nice as the area where this hotel is located. It is right on the beach, and sun loungers are available and free to use.

The only small downside is that if there had been a small pool, everything would have been absolutely perfect.

Everyone was very friendly, the rooms were bright, clean and spacious. The hotel is right on the beach and they have their own sun beds for guests which was nice.

The staff welcomed me with a welcome drink. The room was clean and fragrant. The staff was very helpful and caring. The location is excellent. I did 1,000 km on a motorbike in Sri Lanka and this place was perfect for relaxation and chill. Sun loungers on the beach are available at no extra charge.

The location was very convenient and the place exceeded expectations. It is right Infront of the beach.The staff was absolutely wonderful and kind and was helpful with all of our requests. Would definitely go there again.

Was a bit disappointed with the kottu I ordered. I agree that the majority of the guests are of western origins and the food has to be made to meet their taste. But the kottu was absolutely sweet I was quite taken back by it. I would've requested it to spicy if I had known about the lack of spices. Overall the food and the cocktails were good.

Bright, light, cheerful place right on the beach with really good food. Great location just as the beach gets wider.

The staff is super friendly, helped me with every question I had and even waited with me at the bus station so I can catch the right bus. The room is clean and very cozy. It is equipped with a safe, fridge, kettle and a fan/AC. This was by far the best room I stayed at in Sri Lanka. Would highly recommend if you are searching for a place in Hikkaduwa.

Neelas Beach Inn is a beautiful space with the best beach view available. The staff are friendly and courteous. We were welcomed by Ms. Neela and her amazing family. They were all so kind to us and definitely gave us the home away from home experience. The room we stayed in was simple yet elegant. We loved the accent and aesthetic details. The room was well equipped with a refrigerator, kettle etc. The cherry on the cake was the balcony with a view. The property also has beach access. If you're in Hikaduwa, please stay at Neelas Beach Inn. Not forgetting, the bookshelf which made us really happy. Thank you Ms. Neela & family. Love from Goa, India

A bit simple breakfast so we bought it in a nice coffee shop in the street.

The BEST stay we have had in Sri Lanka!! At the end of two weeks travelling Sri Lanka, this was the perfect place to relax for our last two nights, right on the beach front. The staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. The owners are lovely and speak very good English, which was helpful when working out our return to the airport - there is a bus from Galle Fort twice daily for only 1500rps each! The food was very tasty and not too spicy for us brits, we also headed locally to an Italian and smoothie bar, which were equally as tasty! Turtle beach is only 25 mins walk north on the beach and we saw LOADS of turtles, best time to go is first light to avoid lots of people. Our host was kind enough to lend us a snorkel for this too. The staff also taught us a Sri Landen game, they were all very relaxed but efficient at the same time. Overall an amazing stay and worth every penny!

Room was quite hot but that is what you get when choosing room with fans (which did its job btw) instead of a/c.

Brilliant location right on the beach and only 1 minute walk from the main surf break. Lovely staff and great little beach bar / restaurant serving book and drink all day. Will stay here again.

Brilliantly located right on the best section of beach just to the south of Hikkaduwa. Rooms are clean and spacious. Staff very friendly. Good beach bar attached to hotel with decent menu. Highly recommended!

Balcony opens to back of hotel restaurant. Instead of pleasent sea breeze, warm exhaust blows in the face!

Neela’s was a great place to stay for a couple of days, right on Narigama beach (the nicer bit of Hikkaduwa and away from the very commercialised bits of the beach). The room was nicely decorated (like in the photos) and the bed was huge, handy mosquito net too, AC was great (but note all rooms don’t have AC), the bathroom was basic but adequate. The window in the bathroom was broken and meant mosquitos could’ve come through. I reported it to the staff who fixed it very quickly so all good. Breakfast was not included in my rate which was a shame but there are lots of places nearby where you can grab breakfast. There is no lift but the staff kindly helped me with my bags.

They only accept cash so be prepared and make sure you have the right amount. They do accept dollars/pounds etc but make sure you have exact cash (you won’t get change in your choice of currency, only rupees back). I tried the food in the restaurant for lunch - it was ok tbh and felt a bit overpriced but that is usually the case when eating at restaurants on the beach. My room didn’t have a particularly nice view/back of buildings.

Lovely spacious super clean room with good pillows, linen and towels. Tucked behind restaurant we didn’t hear loud bar music or noise from the road. Use of sunbeds on the beach.

The person in counter was very nice when we entered when we called them from beach during 31st night as we were not getting the place and other hotels were not allowing us for trespassing to wards road side I called that person who was in counter he was dam Loud and rude way he spoke … which I don’t think so i deserve it … might he was high on some thing …

Really nice and clean place with comfortable bed & good shower. The views to the beach are beautiful and you step out from the inn directly onto the beach. The staff were very kind and accommodating. It is a little noisy because of neighboring bars but that is the price you pay for the incredible location and it is the same for all places on the beach. Overall very nice place & good value for money.
