Reviewed Sep 19, 2026The host and hostess were amazing!! This is a little out of the way which was perfect for me and my husband. It was a needed break from the busier cities of Japan and the perfect place to stay before a 3 day hike. There is parking on the premises but we took the train to the nearest station and the hostess picked us up from there. There is a convenience store a few minutes walk from the train station where we pick up food for our dinner and breakfast since there is nothing near the property. The host helped us set up an early morning taxi to Nakabusa Onsen where we started our hike. We are dog people so we were very excited to hang out with the dog but if someone is nota dog person don’t worry. The dog was outside, on a leash, friendly, and respectful of personal space.

Reviewed Aug 28, 2026It’s centrally located, modern, clean, well appointed and friendly. The kitchen is great, free tea and real coffee is available all the time. The lounge area has a good selection of games and books with both tables and chairs and sofas. Good WiFi. Showers are clean and modern with soap/shampoo and hairdryers. We didn’t use the washing machines/tumble dryers but they were all new. We stayed in one of the 2 family rooms which was 2 x bunks. Beds were large and comfortable. A/c was very good. We enjoyed the story cafe on the ground floor for dinner, beer and live music. There is great sound insulation and the guesthouse was super quiet above if you just want to rest. Everyone respects the rules (ie quiet time 10pm to 8am) and it runs very smoothly.

Lindo, com infraestrutura excelente, camas confotáveis, ventilador na cama, tomada, ar condicionado, chuveiros excelentes, sala super aconchegante. Queria ir pra Matsumoto só pra ficar lá de novo. Além disso, staff mega atencioso e um excelente bar embaixo.

Reviewed Aug 18, 2026なわて通り真ん中に位置するので、松本市内の韓国スポットに歩いて行けるところが多くわくわくしました！ また無くしものをした際、親身になって探していただいて信頼できる宿泊施設だなと思いました。また利用します。
少しだけ枕が匂いました！気にならない人は気にならないくらいの微かなものかもしれませんが。概ね清潔に保たれていて快適でした！

Reviewed Jul 25, 2026宿泊体験はとても満足でした。 立地がとても良く、スタッフの皆さんも親切で温かい対応をしてくださいました。宿泊者同士も適度な距離感を保ちながら交流でき、普段とは違う旅の楽しさを感じることができました。 小さなキッチンもあり、自炊したい方には便利だと思います（今回は利用しませんでした）。
初めて訪れる際、入口の表示が少し分かりにくく、周辺を少し探してしまいました。もう少し目印や案内が分かりやすいと、初めての宿泊者にもさらに親切だと思います。

I shared living area and kitchen. Free use of excellent bicycles to explore the town and countryside. Amazing location near the temple the next to many other shops and restaurants.

Reviewed Jul 21, 2026Great place!!! Cannot recommend it enough! The female dorm is quite spacious and very comfortable. Having a locker to put the items I needed to reach easily was a life changer. The hostel is in a great lively and central street, just a few minutes away from the castle and the museum. (It is a bit far from the train but it’s not that bad and so so worth it) Both the cafe and the hotel staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The most social hostel I’ve been to in outside the big cities. I’ve met great people and got an incredibly welcoming feeling, it the best social experience I had in my whole trip to Japan. There common area is comfortable, with sofas and desks alike. There’s a smoking area outside the cafe for the hostel guests which I a great place to meet and hang out with people. They have a lot of recommendations all around. Showers and bathrooms are completely clean and very well kept. Washing machines and dryer worked very well (the best I had), you get drier sheets and detergent from the hostel so the washing actually smells clean (in most hostels the detergent is in the machine so it is clean but is doesn’t smell like fresh washing)

Reviewed Jul 7, 2026This is one of the best guesthouses I've visited in Japan. The location is perfect, the staff is very friendly and helpful, everything is nice and clean. There are volunteers working here speak english, so everything is easy to deal with. They also held small events like a bbq and watching the Japan soccer match, It was nice to spend time like that with the staff and other guests. I enjoyed my stay.
When there was a lot of guests the common room felt slightly cramped, but otherwise I have nothing negative to say.

The staff is mostly young girls who chat and laugh very loudly in the sitting room, it's quite annoying.

Reviewed May 31, 2026I like this location in Matsumoto as its close to the old part of town and Castle along the river. I was expecting a guesthouse but it really felt more like a backpackers. Young European ladies running the hostel were lovely but were unable to give much insight to Matsumoto as they too were travellers. Place was clean and we had our own room of 4 bunkbeds for the two of us. I probably should have done my research a little better with regards to standard but overall we were not unhappy with our stay for the price and only being there 2 nights. Would recommend to young travellers looking for dorm like accom with a group.

Reviewed May 27, 2026I was at first a little hesitant as I only booked it cuz my travel partner wanted a kitchen. But everything was fantastic, the facilites were always clean the bed was great, the view from the common area out onto the street was calming. And they helped me get tickets to a local football match. Oh yeah and there is lots of free tea there, and not just the crappy stuff, the good stuff like darjeeling and earl gray.
I think if I had a top bunk I would not have enjoyed it as much, as the bottom bunk has quick access to storage under the bed. And maybe the safety bars on the side of the bottom bunks could be taken off.

Reviewed May 20, 2026ロケーションが街中で近くに駐車場もありとても便利でした。 スタッフの対応もよく、忘れ物の連絡をした際には夜遅くにも関わらずすぐに連絡が来て、翌朝もう一度確認すると連絡をいただきました。 お値段もすごく安かったので、また松本に行く際は利用したいです。

Reviewed Apr 29, 2026Ich fühlte mich teilweise wie ein ungebetener Gast im Aufenthaltsraum. Die Mitarbeiter ignorieren einen und behandeln es eher wie ihr eigenes Wohnzimmer. Das Notausgangschild beleuchtet das komplette Zimmer Nachts. Die Vorhänge bringen da leider auch nichts.

This hostel really makes you feel at home, with a good kitchen, free tea and coffee, relaxing communal area, and very friendly and helpful staff. They also run a cafe downstairs which sometimes has live music. They've struck a great balance with a social atmosphere and quiet dormrooms for a good night's sleep.

Reviewed Apr 1, 2026I go often to this guesthouse when I am in Matsumoto for work. It is very well furnished, comfortable and clean. The way the guesthouse functions is also very well done and efficient (check-in/check-out go smoothly and there are spots to work inside, the kitchen is also well equiped and easy to use). The staff are very friendly and helpful. A café is also attached to the guesthouse, where they play live music some evening. Finally, it is close on foot from the station and is located in a nice commercial street. Really really recommended.

My original plan was to stay only 2 nights but i extended to almost 20 because of how good the place, the people and the city were. The guesthouse has its own cafe on the first floor, the food is great there are events regularly, the staff is friendly and welcoming. The accommodation in the guesthouse are great, this was honestly the most comfortable bed I had in a guesthouse, the common room is not that big there was a lack of space in the kitchen for long term stay like me but for a normal stay there’s no issues. My best traveling experience until now.

Das einzige was ich mir gewünscht hätte wäre etwas Frischluft im dorm, bei 8 Personen wurde es dann doch etwas stickig.
