Staff is relaxed

Die Lage war perfekt – nur ca. 2 Minuten vom Strand entfernt und viele Restaurants waren bequem zu Fuß erreichbar. Besonders gefallen haben uns der schöne Pool und der direkte Blick vom Zimmer auf den Pool. Das Personal war zudem sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend.

Das Zimmer war leider nicht ausreichend sauber. Wir mussten das Personal darauf ansprechen, dass unser Zimmer gereinigt wird. Hier wäre eine gründlichere Reinigung wünschenswert.

Voor de prijs vonden we het vrij duur. 80 euro per nacht betaald en het hotel is niet af. Voor dit geld verwacht je wel luxe maar dat was er niet echt. Daarom de mindere review gezien het overpriced was. Dus ik zou er niet opnieuw heen gaan.

Værelserne i den gamle afdeling var slidte og nussede. Alt trængte til gennemgribende renovering. Køleskab virkede ikke. Hotellet er under ombygning. Her lå reception og opholdsområde. Det var dog helt tomt. Ingen mulighed for at købe mad eller drikke. Få solsenge.

The location was close to everything.

The room we originally booked was dirty when we showed up with bugs on the bed and wall. Thankfully they moved us to a nicer room in the new part of the building but the bed wasn’t that comfortable and the sheets had stains on them. The hot water did not work in the shower either, which was fine with us as it was so hot outside. There is a lot of work to be done to make the place nicer as it’s still under construction.

Je hebt een nieuw en oud gedeelte. Op de foto’s worden de nieuwe kamers afgebeeld, maar wij zaten in de oude kamer. Houd hier rekening mee!

The aircon was good, pool was big, and it was a short walk from the beach but that’s about where the praise ends.

We really debated changing hotels. When we arrived there were no staff about, and there was no clear way of identifying them or asking questions at any point in the stay. The room felt half finished and didn’t feel very clean. The bathroom smelt like rotten eggs and bath was dirty. The main building pictured on the ad looked nicer but not finished / in proper use. We paid £120 for 2 nights for 2 people and I think this is double what it should be valued. They are also cash only which we didn’t know before booking. I hate leaving bad reviews but I don’t want people to have the same experience as us.

There is clearly a kitchen / dining space but no food or drink options at all. The staff seemed weirdly absent - there was no proper check in, no one at reception and it didn’t seem like anyone was running the place. The room itself was nice but seemed half complete - the wardrobe was tiny and useless, there were no bedside tables or lamps, no hanging hooks, nowhere to place your suitcase other than on the floor. The towels and sheets were unchanged and the room was not cleaned during a 3 night stay which does not seem to fit the price we paid.

On a positive note, the guys working there were genuinely nice and helpful when we did see them, but sadly, that is the only good thing I can say about this place.

Honest Review: Disappointing Stay, Poor Value for Money We stayed at Paris Garden in Trino for two nights, and unfortunately, it fell far short of our expectations. There is no proper reception, and they strictly accept cash only, which made check-out inconvenient. Finding anyone in the morning to hand over keys or get assistance was nearly impossible and quite frustrating. The room itself was very dark and felt neglected, with a noticeable lack of proper upkeep and cleanliness. While it might barely pass as a last-resort option for two nights, we definitely wouldn't recommend staying any longer. Given the complete lack of basic comfort and service, it is simply not worth the money. We definitely overpaid for what we got.

The location was great! The staff were helpful and friendly! The new room was a good surprise! The bed was comfortable and the toilets were new and good! Great ac . Notice that there are old rooms and new rooms.. There is a difference!

The old rooms toilet were not looking in good condition.. but the new rooms great. The pool had some bugs.

Avoid this hotel. It is overpriced, poorly maintained, and far from clean. The pool contains water bugs that bite, and there is no safe in the room. Both the room and bathroom doors cannot be closed properly unless they are locked. The air conditioning is extremely noisy, making it difficult to relax or sleep. The hotel surroundings are unattractive, with mostly concrete areas and very little greenery. The entire property is in desperate need of renovation. Although there is a TV in the room, it does not work, is very small, and is mounted about 2.5 meters above the floor. Everything looks worn out and neglected, as if it has gone decades without proper cleaning or maintenance. During the night, a small animal entered our room and tried to get into our bag. Considering the price, there are much better accommodation options available nearby. So far, this has been the worst hotel experience of our trip.

There was no tea or coffee available..I think because they are currently building a new kitchen and restaurant, but I think tea and coffee could be provided at a minimum or at least they could partner with a local cafe to order breakfast delivery

Our room was comfortable and clean. Fantastic swimming pool.

The area around what must be one of the best swimming pools we came across in Sri Lanka could do with a lot of tlc. The ground was quite dirty, the tiles needed fixing and the addition of plants would be a great improvement as the outlook is not pretty at the moment and lets the property down. I assume that this will happen at some point as there is a lovely brand new hotel on site which wasn't yet open.

Beautiful, big and super clean swimming pool. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms are cleaned daily and fresh ,clean sheets and pillow cases fitted, mattresses are soft. Warm water showers. Close to beach and restaurants.

We originally booked just one night but ended up staying four—that’s how much we enjoyed this place! The accommodation was very comfortable and just a short walk from the beach. The location is also really convenient, with plenty of restaurants nearby. An added bonus was the pool, which was perfect for relaxing during the day. The staff were also very friendly and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable.

The pool was lovely, staff was super helpful and even got us drinking water and tea when we asked for it. The locations is great, 1 min from beach. We really had an extremely pleasant stay here, can fully recommend!

The pool is great, but nothing else is!

2 piles of dog poo, and rubbish around the pool - that were still there after the area had been swept. 3 storey high construction site about one meter from the pool so constant dust and noise. Gloomy room with very shabby bathroom. Disinterested guy left in charge. Misleading photography in listing.

Building both sides very noisy but nothing compared to the noise from the air-conditioning. Despite the best efforts of the manager who arranged a repair man nothing could be done to fix the ROAR coming for the outside unit.😡😡

Lovely rooms set alongside a beautifully kept swimming pool. Manager was really helpful, with recommendations, laundry and onward driver. Great location really close to the beach and several restaurants.

Air-conditioning unit was very noisy, so had to switch it off at night.

I had a wonderful stay in Paris Garden. The rooms are very comfortable and situated next to the amazing pool, perfect to chill at during a hot day. The host Wanu is very friendly and happy to help with anything you want, but best of all is their little puppy Marco! It broke my heart to say goodbye to him, such a welcoming friend to come home to after the beach.

Had a really great stay here. The room was just perfect. Very clean and quiet. I enjoyed talking to the host, who was incredibly friendly and helpful. Wish I could've stayed a couple more days.

clean & spacious room & quiet place. the staff is extremely nice person. priveded everything i needed and he was kind to wash my clothes free of charge. there is a nice swimming pool you can use. I felt like home.

It was a great stay, I was alone in the resort and had a good quiet time. The people working there are also nice and always helpful, we also had a short trip up north. Would recommend.

The pool is pure bliss! I was the only one staying here as it was out of season but that didn't bother me. I loved swimming first thing in the morning and last thing at night when i got back. The pool is huge and the perfect temperature!

The location is very good! It was an easy walking distance to the beach.

For this Western price, you would expect Western quality. That’s not the case. A lot of mosquitos, ants, a pool that had a lot of leaves in it… The English of the host is also not that good so he can’t give you information if you ask something about transport, attractions,… There is also no opportunity to eat in this accomodation. We stayed for 3 nights, but wouldn’t come back.

Unfortunately the worst accommodation we had in Sri Lanka during our 3-week trip. Many ants, rooms are in no good condition and could need a makeover. We had far better accommodations in Sri Lanka for a better price.

We loved our stay in Paris Garden Resort. The bed was comfortable, the air conditioner perfect, the fridge a added bonus. Venu is very friendly and always helpful. We enjoyed Rocky the rescue dog who welcomed us home after she started to know us. The swimming pool is lovely, the layout of this accommodation is perfect with the nice loungers just outside your chalet. The location is perfect, we went over our budget with the delicious restaurants in the area and loved the gorgeous beach a few minutes walk from here. We are sorry that we only stayed 3 days in Trincomalee, this is where the holiday vibe is.

The bathroom needs a bit of attention, but will not put us off from coming back.

Accommodation was expensive for a very basic room with a tv that doesn’t work and wifi that’s intermittent. But I guess you are paying for location which was good. It was comfortable.

Loved this little property. Pool was amazing, clean and warm. AC in the rooms was perfect, warm shower. Places to eat close by and a very short 2 min walk to the best part of the beach. Venu made us feel very welcome and went to the supermarket to get us beers & drinks. Rocky the rescue puppy was adorable. We loved our stay here x

In the best location, 2 min walk to beach, 2 min walk to good cafes. Just far enough from Fernando's you don't hear the music all night. Don't be put off it's not beachfront, you will be glad for the clean pool instead of the rubbish strewn beach in the heat of the day. Bed was super comfortable for srilankan bed, one of the best we had in 2 weeks. There's a large fridge near pool area, so if you buy beers at wine store the savings will pay for the room ! Very nice man running it. Bathroom was very clean. Air-con was the coldest we had in our whole trip. Make sure you have the curry buffet at rice n curry at end of street

Dirty beach upuveli and nilaveli, not the hosts fault. Am not sure if it's from tourism, fisherman or the currents. Guess it depends what you're used to. Room isn't huge but there's plenty of room directly outside room under shade with lounge chair and table and chairs.

Brilliant place. Monkeys in the morning eating berries and playing. Great restaurants and beach a short walk away. Rooms clean and nice. Pool is so nice in the heat. Very nice and good hosts.

Everything perfect

Excellent accomodation only a 2 minute walk from the beech. The rooms are nice, the hosts were pleasant and extremely helpful and accommodating and the resort even has a cute little dog called Rocky.

The air conditioning could be a little bit better as the remote didn't always work and it could have been more powerful to keep the room cold.

I would definitely recommend this hotel! Amazing and very helpful staff (thank you Venu!), clean pool and rooms with good AC and we loved the small puppy that was hanging out at the hotel grounds (extra points for that!). Also very close to the beach and some local restaurants. Overall, we hope to return one day!

Very close to beach and other lovely restaurants. Fabulous pool right outside your door. Room was very spacious and there was a fridge in the room which was great. Venu was very helpful & friendly. Lovely little puppy there too :)

We stayed here for 7 nights and I wish we could have stayed longer. A very nice hotel with a well-kept swimming pool. Spacious room, with a comfortable bed. We had a hot water from the shower every day and well-functioning air conditioning. Relaxed atmosphere and super cool people. Venu was very friendly and helpful with everything. Nothing was to much trouble for him. He organized a scooter for us at a very affordable price. An additional attraction was a tiny puppy that was found on the beach and Venu took very good care of her. Hotel is located very close to the beach. We would definitely love to stay here again.

We had a lovely four night stay here. The rooms were comfortable and come with a fridge. The bathroom is basic and could do with a refresh but you get hot water which is all that really matters. AC worked well. The pool was a lovely touch and it was always super clean. Could do with a few more sunbeds and maybe some sunbed covers as you’re just lying on a bit of wood which gets a little uncomfortable! Great location, so close to the beach and restaurants. Venu who is the caretaker/housekeeper/groundskeeper was so lovely and friendly. Also if you do book to stay here please look after the little pup that you’ll see around, she was rescued from the beach and just needs a bit of care!

Bathroom could do with a revamp

I spent 5 days there with my family. Very well located facility, close to a beautiful and clean beach and many restaurants. Great staff, taking care of the cleanliness of the rooms and the pool, and also caring for and feeding the dog. I highly recommend it, I would love to go back there. Excellent value for money.

No breakfast, kettle or dishes in the room, which is not a big problem because there are many very good restaurants nearby.

Great staff, pool, location. My room didn’t have a fridge but was able to use the staff fridge which was fine. Kettle for the room! Organised a scooter for me which was helpful.

Not a major issue but the bathroom needs a little work.. floor didn’t drain well.. bad smell from drain but fixed by putting a mat over the drain.

A lovely little place near the beach , great pool cool aircon and nice setting. The place is looked after by a lovely man called Venu; he was very kind and helpful, during our stay. When we arrived, there were 3 tiny little puppies ,sadly two did t make it :( Venu did a fantastic job looking after them and we tried our best to feed them up , we left 1 very fat puppy so hopefully she gets stronger, stay here and help by feeding pups , Srilanka has a real problem with strays but it was lovely to see such Compassion.

The guest house was very quiet, with a lovely pool and trees that offered shade.There were no breakfast options but overall the property was excellent value, being a five minute walk to the best part of the beach and with good restaurants nearby. Venu does a great job, welcoming guests with a friendly smile, as well as looking after everything else.

Very friendly host, he even helped us book a taxi to our next destination and made sure we got a good price. Nice and clean pool und great location, super close to the beach.

No shower curtain in the bathroom so when you shower the whole bathroom gets wet, didn’t bother us to much tough.

A great find! Lovely pool for a dip or laze. Quiet (just 6 rooms). Easy stroll to beach and lots of places to eat and drink close by. Room simple but decent size and nice chairs and table in front in the shade to chill at/on. Venu is super helpful and keeps the place looking nice.

The bathroom sink and the shower drain haven't got 'U' bends so the smell is not prevented from escaping into the room. Shame as everything else was good. The electric shower worked well with hot water. The air conditioner worked well but there was something wrong with the remote control as it was tempremental and didn't work well. We stuck it on 30c and used the fan instead. It would be nice to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room. However the main reason for our extended stay was the huge clean swimming pool which was brilliant. We had it mostly to ourselves as there are only six rooms and only five were let. Most people staying went out for most of the day leaving the pool to us. The water was warm too. My little thermometer read 33.4c. Overall a good place to stay lots of restaurants nearby and the beach is juat a stones throw away. The waste pipes just need 'U' bends to stop the smell.

Venu made us feel really welcome. Room was very comfortable and clean. The pool was amazing. Breakfast was lovely, Sri lankan or eggs on toast. Kettle and fridge in the room was a bonus.supplied us with anti mosquito repellent. He showed us a wild tortoise which was lovely. He is constantly sweeping and keeping the place lovely. Nice warm showers too.

A great place for families and friends. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay and veenu was very very helpful and caring. The only thing we regret about the stay was we could not inform veenu to arrange a seafood dinner which the next time we stay we will definitely do!

Clean, comfortabel and spacious room. The airconditioning is silent, which is something we didn't find yet in Sri Lanka. The room is nice for a dip. There are a lot of places to sit and relax.

The beach is at the end of the street, but the gate was closed. It could be a private beach, not sure. A 10 minute walk further you can definitely enter the beach.

The resort is located a short distance from the sea, there is a swimming pool, the room has air conditioning and a fan, and a private bathroom with hot water. There is a good Wi-Fi connection in the room. I originally planned to stay for two nights, but had to extend my stay by one night because it was really good. The staff was very helpful, recommended good and cheap restaurants. In the end, on the day of departure I needed to leave the room only at 9 pm due to the evening bus connection, and there was only a small, understandable surcharge.

The accommodation is located quite far from the center, which can be solved with a Tuktuk, which costs between 500-800 rupees from the hotel to the city for one way, maybe even less if you can bargain better :).

The staff were incredibly attentive and made me feel right at home. The room itself was spacious and clean, providing a comfortable and relaxing environment. Highly recommended! 😄🌟

Garden and Pool und Venu who takes care of all.

No direct war to the beach

The beach is within a short walking distance. The man who worked there was really nice and helped us with everything! We were taken by surprise by the empty beaches, empty hotels and empty restaurants but we happened to come to Uppuveli in low season. The hotel pool was really nice and super clean.

The closest way to the beach was closed off but it will be open during high season.

Follow the google map location it’s accurate don’t look for the Board sign it’s little bit inside the lane.
