Apache Bar Haad yao vs Similar Hotels

Rooms had mixed reviews, with some indicating furnishings were outdated and some cleanliness issues.

Mixed comments: attractive wooden bungalows with hammocks and decent AC, but some bathrooms are dated and several guests complained about very hard pillows/mattresses; generally acceptable but variable.

Some reviews raised concerns about dirtiness, particularly of appliances and fixtures.

Multiple guests reported issues: insufficient cleaning frequency or quality (only every other day), ants and even cockroaches, stained towels, toothpaste on mirrors, and at least one report of black water from the tap — overall below average cleanliness.

Location near the beach and beautiful views were frequently praised.

Consistently praised: excellent location by the beach, close to activities and services (7‑11, scooter rental), away from party areas, great access to sunsets and beach — a clear strong point.

Staff were consistently described as friendly and helpful across multiple reviews.

Most mentions describe staff as friendly and helpful and visibly present; however a number of reviews note lazy or unmotivated staff and slow service at the beach bar. Overall service is good but inconsistent.

The food quality was highly praised, with good portions and taste.

Several guests complained about limited breakfast (set menus A/B/C), late serving start (from 8:30) and limited flexibility; beach bar and restaurant praised for views but service can be slow and prices are on the high side.

Amenities like the pool and restaurant were appreciated, though some noted maintenance concerns.

Pool and beach bar are frequent positives (large pool, direct beach access, pleasant beach bar layout); resort has useful on-site conveniences. Some operational issues (very warm pool in afternoon, beach bar ordering problems) but amenities are a highlight.

Food prices were noted as high but worth it for the quality.

Mixed perception: some guests felt prices (especially food) were high for the area/Thailand, while others found comfort and convenience justified the cost — overall slightly above average value.
