Casa Mech

Casa Mech est situé à 2 pas du centre ville et 5 min à pied seulement de la plage principale de Holbox. L'hôtel est charmant et entouré de verdure. Les chambres sont spacieuses, propres, confortables et certaines possèdent même une terrasse privative. Il y a une piscine sur le toit qui est certes petite mais qui suffit à se rafraîchir. Une cuisine commune est à disposition avec thé, café préparé et fruits gratuits ce qui est très appréciable. Enfin l'hôte Mauricio est réactif, serviable et adorable : il nous a tout expliqué de A à Z que ce soit pour l'hôtel mais aussi pour les activités extérieures. Allez-y les yeux fermés !

The rooms are clean and quite comfortable for a short stay.

Nobody was at the reception when we arrived, even though we informed the hotel about our arrival time. Also during our stay, the reception was always unattended. If you needed something, there was nobody you could ask for help.

The place was quiet and beautifully decorated.

Struttura bellissima, molto intima con poche camere e immersa nel verde degli alberi. La camera e il bagno sono molto ampi e la pulizia è impeccabile. Ottima anche la pressione dell'acqua nella doccia, dettaglio non da poco per l'isola. Letto king size, zanzariere, pale al soffitto e aria condizionata. La posizione è ideale: vicino al centro, ma defilata dal caos serale. Molto utile la zona comune attrezzata con frigorifero e stoviglie, oltre all'ottima attenzione della frutta fresca offerta gratuitamente ogni mattina. Host estremamente gentile e disponibile. Esperienza eccellente, consigliatissimo. Sull'isola si trovano anche soluzioni a prezzi inferiori, ma la qualità della struttura, la cura dei dettagli e l'estrema gentilezza dell'host giustificano assolutamente il costo leggermente più alto. Struttura a circa 5 minuti a piedi sia dal porto che dal lungomare con le barche. I proprietari sono gentili, disponibili, danno consigli sinceri. La camera era ampia, confortevole e molto pulita, il letto davvero comodo. Disponibile una cucina, con ampio frigo dove è possibile lasciare le proprie cose. Piscina piccolina, ma utilissima nelle giornate più calde. Abbiamo acquistato un tour tramite la struttura e siamo rimasti ampiamente soddisfatti. Se dovessimo tornare a Holbox, soggiorneremmo volentieri qui! Molto consigliato!!!

Se proprio dovessimo trovare qualcosa da dire, sarebbe utile avere la colazione inclusa. Come tutto il Messico, hanno qualche problema con gli scarichi del bagno, ma è assolutamente normale e da non imputare alla struttura (ma alla scarsità o mancanza di fognature).

Very chilled place. The room was lovely and clean and there are very few mosquitoes compared to other places. Mauricio, the host, is a top guy, very helpful and welcoming. He sorted tours for me and did everything to make the stay a great one. The pool at the top is nice and chill and there is free coffee and fruit every morning.

Shower pressure could be a little stronger and beds a little softer, but neither are major issues.

The rooms are really cute and well equipped. Mauricio is super nice and was a great help :) We had a lovely stay and would definitely book again!

Tuvimos una experiencia excelente en Casa Mech. Desde el primer momento nos hicieron sentir como en casa. Mauricio e Irais fueron unos anfitriones excepcionales: siempre atentos, amables y dispuestos a ayudar con cualquier cosa que necesitáramos. Nos ofrecieron de todo, nos dieron muy buenas recomendaciones y estuvieron pendientes de que nuestra estancia fuera perfecta. Se nota que son muy buenas personas y que disfrutan haciendo que sus huéspedes se sientan cómodos. La atención fue cercana, cálida y profesional al mismo tiempo. Sin duda, uno de los mejores lugares donde hemos estado en Holbox. ¡Muchísimas gracias, Mauricio e Irais! Esperamos volver muy pronto. 100 % recomendable.

Een prachtig en aangenaam verblijf waar je heerlijk tot rust kan komen. Mauricio liet ons erg welkom voelen waardoor we ons zeer op ons gemak voelde. Het verblijf is schoon, goed onderhouden en van alle gemakken voorzien. Indien gewenst werd de kamer dagelijks schoongemaakt Het verblijf is maar 5 minuten van het strand gelegen en 5 minuten van het centrum. Er is geen ontbijt maar elke ochtend is er vers fruit, pastries en koffie en thee beschikbaar wat ook zeker een pluspunt voor ons was. Tip: via het verblijf kun je verschillende excursies/fietsen huren. Zeker een aanrader.

Wirklich toller Unterkunft, sehr schöne Zimmer, wahnsinnig nettes Personal, besonders der Inhaber. Hat uns Fahrräder besorgt sowie spontan einen Ausflug mit den Kajaks. Sehr gute Organisation und Kommunikation per WhatsApp. Gutes Frühstück - jeden Morgen! Frischer Kaffee und mehr. Süße Anlage!!

De ambiance. Het is alsof je in een soort romantisch Peter Pan achtig Neverland verblijft. De locatie is dichtbij alles en Irais was behulpzaam en vriendelijk.

Wat slechte waterdruk op de douche. Vogeltjes hoor je sochtends vroeg maar er liggen oortjes klaar als je dat niet fijn vindt. Dat is ook wel weer onderdeel van de sfeer.

We stayed at Casa Mech for one night and had a wonderful experience! The room was lovely and comfortable. The highlight was definitely the little touches from our host, Mauricio—super friendly, with a warm welcome and lots of thoughtful gestures and helpful tips. A true favorite for both this hotel and Holbox!

I had a wonderful stay at Casa Mech. Mauricio, who runs it with his sister, was incredibly kind, welcoming and attentive. You really feel genuinely looked after from the moment you arrive. The rooms were thoughtfully designed, very comfortable and spotless, making it easy to fully relax. A special place with a personal touch that makes all the difference.

Es un pequeño hotel familiar regentado por Mauricio e Irais, nos ayudaron en todo, nos sentimos como en casa desde la llegada. Ofrecen un pequeño desayuno de cortesía y una nevera común con un espacio para cada una de las habitaciones. La cama es súper cómoda, hay muy buen wifi, agua caliente y buena climatización. No tuvimos ningún corte de electricidad. Contratamos a través de ellos un tour en kayak para ver la bioluminiscencia, una experiencia top. Una vez fuera de la isla, tuvimos un problema y nos ayudaron a solventarlo y a que nuestro viaje continuara con normalidad. La ubicación es muy buena, se puede llegar caminando con la maleta desde el puerto en 7 minutos.

Boutique con muchísimo encanto y un host excepcional Me ha gustado muchísimo mi estancia en Casa Amec. Es un alojamiento boutique con un diseño cuidado al detalle: constantemente descubres pequeños elementos que marcan la diferencia, desde la ventana en la ducha con vistas al exterior, hasta los detalles para colgar toallas o la estructura sólida tipo piedra de la cama. Las ventanas de madera y su sistema de cierre también son muy originales. Se nota que todo está pensado con mucho gusto. La habitación es muy cómoda, con una cama excelente, buen colchón, sábanas y almohadas de calidad. Además, se agradecen mucho los pequeños detalles como el mini desayuno (fruta, té, algo de bollería) y el agua disponible, que aunque no sea un desayuno completo, suma muchísimo a la experiencia. La ubicación también es muy buena: cerca de todo pero en una zona tranquila. En unos 5 minutos caminando estás en la playa principal. Además, alquilar bicicletas allí mismo fue muy fácil y a buen precio. Pero sin duda, lo mejor de todo es Mauricio. Es un host increíble: cercano, atento y siempre dispuesto a recomendarte los mejores restaurantes y planes. Viajando solo, hizo que me sintiera como en casa, casi como en familia. También tiene una zona chill en la azotea muy agradable para relajarse o leer.

Como puntos a mejorar, diría que la terraza superior podría tener un poco más de mantenimiento (sofás, cojines y hamacas algo desgastados). La piscina también estaba un poco fría, aunque entiendo que es algo personal. Y la habitación es algo oscura y daba a un patio interior con algo de ruido por la tarde-noche (aunque después de las 11–12 ya estaba todo tranquilo, como me avisaron). En general, lo recomiendo totalmente: un boutique con mucho estilo, bien ubicado y con un trato excepcional.

Super lief personeel en ruime mooie kamer met heerlijk bed. In de ochtend staat er zelfs een ontbijtje klaar in de gedeelde keuken. Je loopt zo het dorp in bent binnen een paar minuten op het strand.

Simple, well appointed accommodation. The owners were very helpful with advice about the island, where to eat etc. They provided a light breakfast of fruit and pastries, which was a very nice touch. The roof terrace with the pool was an added bonus.

Perfect location a short walk from the main town and beach. Lovely and quiet and the bed was super comfortable. Lovely shaded spot with a plunge pool on the roof top which was a great spot after returning from the beach.

The bathroom was lovely however the shower was not powerful enough so having a shower took a long time as the water pressure was low. Despite this, we enjoyed a wonderful four days here.

What a great place to stay in Holbox! The siblings who manages the hotel were so sweet and accommodating, especially the sister was very helpful and kind with everything regarding our stay. Rooms were very clean and while small everything was thought through. Outlets at bedsides, comfortable beds, separate towels for going to the beach, earplugs (there was a construction nearby, didn't bother us though), plenty of space for hanging clothes etc. Booked only one night, wished we could've stayed here longer!

Chambre trop sombre et un peu petite

The place is beautifully decorated, with high attention to details, both in the room and the common areas. The host Mauricio was extremely helpful and kind. He recommended a kayaking activity to observe the bioluminescence, and it was truly amazing. We definitely recommend staying here!

The price is a bit on the high end, but it is probably justified by the level of comfort you get in a relatively isolated place like Holbox.

Casa Mech ist ein wunderschönes, sehr liebevoll und herzlich eingerichtetes Hotel mit einer entspannten, angenehmen Atmosphäre. Schon beim Ankommen fühlt man sich willkommen und wohl. In der Lobby gibt es gemütliche Hängestühle und Sitzecken, in denen man sich hervorragend aufhalten und entspannen kann. Die Lage ist ideal: sehr zentral, alles ist schnell erreichbar, und trotzdem liegt das Hotel nicht mitten im Touristentrubel. Dadurch ist es angenehm ruhig – eine perfekte Kombination. Das Zimmer war sehr schön, grosszügig und sauber. Das Bett war sehr gross, und wir haben immer sehr gut geschlafen. Falls es nachts etwas kühler wird, gibt es eine zusätzliche Wolldecke. Im Zimmer gibt es einen Deckenventilator sowie eine Klimaanlage, die man je nach Bedarf ein- und ausschalten kann. Das Zimmer wird täglich gereinigt, und auf Wunsch erhält man jeden Tag frische Dusch- und Badetücher. Sehr geschätzt haben wir auch die kleine Gemeinschaftsküche bei der Lobby. Man kann zwar nicht richtig kochen, aber die Ausstattung ist ausreichend, um einen kleinen Snack zuzubereiten. Zudem gibt es einen Kühlschrank, um eigene Lebensmittel zu lagern. In der Lobby stehen ausserdem Spiele und Bücher zur Verfügung, die man nutzen kann, und Velos können sehr günstig gemietet werden. Ausserdem offeriert das Hotel am Morgen ein kleines Frühstück. Kaffee und Gipfeli sind eine sehr nette Aufmerksamkeit und sorgen für einen entspannten Start in den Tag. Ganz besonders hervorzuheben ist der Besitzer Mauricio. Er ist sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und immer erreichbar, da er selbst im Hotel wohnt. Er ist immer für einen Schwatz zu haben, unterstützt bei allen Anliegen und geht deutlich über das hinaus, was man erwarten würde. Er hat uns bei der Buchung einer Tour geholfen und für unsere Abreise ein Taxi organisiert. Der Service ist wirklich hervorragend – man fühlt sich rundum gut betreut.

Ein kleines negatives Detail war der eher niedrige Wasserdruck in der Dusche, was aber nicht weiter schlimm war. Was für uns persönlich kein negativer Punkt war, aber dennoch erwähnt werden sollte: Es gibt keine klassischen Fenster mit Glasscheiben, sondern Holzläden, die aufgeklappt werden können und sehr gut vor Einblick schützen. Wir fanden das eine coole Idee. Dadurch ist das Zimmer jedoch nicht zu 100 % schalldicht (sind Hotels in Mexiko aber oft nicht). Uns hat das überhaupt nicht gestört, wir konnten immer sehr gut schlafen, nachts war es sowieso sehr ruhig im Hotel und tagsüber waren wir kaum dort. Für uns war das absolut kein Problem und wir würden das Hotel trotzdem klar weiterempfehlen. Ein letzter Punkt, den das Hotel selbst nicht beeinflussen kann: Auf der Insel gibt es relativ viele Mücken. Das Hotel geht damit aber sehr gut und hat vor jeder Tür und jedem Fenster ein Mückengitter installiert, was wirklich viel hilft.

Gostamos de tudo. A limpeza é muito boa, a pousada é bonita, a localização é excelente (perto da praia, de restaurantes e de mercado) e o Mauricio é muito prestativo e simpático (passou todas as informações relevantes sobre a ilha, dicas de restaurantes, passeios, marcação de transfer etc.).

Absolutely lovely place, well cared for and clean. The hosts are incredible, so friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious, clean and silent at night. Lovely free breakfast with fruits, fresh coffee and pastries every morning!

Está muy bien ubicado, en el centro de Holbox pero sin ser las calles principales, así que la tranquilidad y el silencio están asegurados. El hotel es muy tranquilo y agradable. El personal muy simpatico y siempre tienen algo de fruta en la cocina para que puedas comer si te apetece. En la piscina casi nunca hubo nadie así que este espacio común también es muy cómodo. Ofrecen nevera y utensilios de cocina por si quieres tener tus cosas.

The owners were very welcoming. The building is beautiful and in a great location. The roof top is a good sun trap. It was my birthday while we were there and they decorated our room!

Erg mooie plaats. Mooi verzorgde tuin en kamer. Host was supervriendelijk, gaf veel informatie en tips. Ontbijt of restaurant is er niet, maar enkele tientallen meters verder zijn voldoende adresjes. Ook werd er koffie, thee fruit en wat koekjes gratis aangeboden sochtends. Erg fijn. Net als het verse water een hele dag beschikbaar. We hebben ons verblijf verlengd omdat het allemaal zo verzorgd en relaxed was. Prijs kwaliteit aanrader.

Amazing host and cosy and clean room! The weather was unfortunately not really good when we were at Isla Holbox. Luckily our host made up for it with his warm and welcoming personality!

Mauricio est un hôte très accueillant. Il nous a aidé pour organiser au mieux notre séjour et nos activités. Le café et les snacks à disposition le matin sont très appréciables. L’emplacement est idéal, à deux minutes à pieds des rues et des plages les plus animées.

Douche qui manquait de pression, chambre peu lumineuse, et wifi très capricieux. Mais cela n’empêche pas de passer un agréable moment !

Accueil charmant et chaleureux d'Ana. Nous avons rencontré Mauricio plus tard dans la journée qui est également charmant. Tous les deux parlent très bien anglais. Le petit hôtel (6 chambre) est très cosy avec une petite cuisine, un frigidaire, de l'eau potable. Sur la terrasse du haut il y a un petit bassin parfait pour se rafraîchir. L'hôtel se situe à quelques quadrants du centre et de la plage. Quelques petits restaurants juste à côté. Les chambres sont toutes mignonnes avec une petite salle de bain. Les chambres sont sombres mais parfait pour garder de la fraîcheur. Café et petits gâteaux le matin vers les 8h

The property is super cute and pretty. The rooms are nice and the location is amazing. Mauricio helped us when we arrived and he was the absolute best. He was friendly, helpful and enthusiastic. We had a little issue with the toilet, but he immediately called someone to come and fix it and it was fixed when we got back from the beach. I would definitely recommend staying here. You’re in a bit more quiet area, but it’s only a 5 min walk to the square where the town is alive at night. It’s also only a 5 min walk to the beach, so you’re super central to everything!
