I did not experience a welcoming feeling There is a very heavy smell coming from pipes in the basement parking and going all the way up to the room. There is no hairdryer in the room and there is no plug point close to any mirror in the room

Am Tag der Ankunft war für zwei Stunden wegen Umbaumaßnahmen das Wasser abgestellt. Geht gar nicht! Am dritten Tag fiel der Strom aus, wir konnten keine Steckdose nutzen, außerdem fiel der Boiler aus, somit kein warmes Wasser zum Duschen. Außer wegen der nicht funktionierenden Steckdosen wurden wir über die Ausfälle nicht informiert. So geht man mit Gästen nicht um.

Overrated and overpriced. You can get much better and cheaper places in that area. Also, the welcome was quite poor as we were only asked if we wanted to book extra breakfast, but otherwise, nothing else was explained. Like how to get after hours or where the car par is etc...

Accommodation in need of an upgrade. Photos on booking.com is outdated. Allot of the advertised items are either not working, broken or not there. My room's aircon was broken and the property made no attempt to have it fixed. Instead I was given a small fan as compensation. Breakfast is not great and not at a standard expected for the price range.

Reviewed Feb 8, 2026Oceansnest Guesthouse is idealy situated and provides breathtaking early morning and sunset views of Table Mountain, Table Bay and Robben Island. The guesthouse is within walking distance of a number of swimming beaches and a variety of restaurants and coffee shops, and approximately 30 minutes drive from the V&A Waterfront The management are very hands on and are always available to assist with any enquiries. The communal areas, rooms, and facilities are very well maintained, and always clean. Oceansnest Guesthouse has been added to our list of favorite getaway destinations.
The 2 x parking garages are a bit small and it can be a bit of a tight squeeze to get your vehicle in and out when full

Fire exit procedure should perhaps be explained. We had three people that could do stairs, just quite slow, perhaps checking that everyone is capable to do all the stairs. There were some parts that just needed some maintenance but hey, we being picky when we writing this. The question is, will we be back, and the answer is YES!

The unit we thought we were booking, was not. No sea views, and most definitely not an apartment!! The bed was hard as a rock and VERY uncomfortable. The couple is another unit argued - no, SHOUTED - every evening from 9 to 10pm. Lights left on, and no restaurant on the property - so no food at night, and they lock everything up at 9… not a good experience at all!!

Reviewed Jan 18, 2026A lovely place!!! I would have wanted a hairdryer but was ok. The kitchen also needs more equipment. There was no icebucket. There is also very few mirrors. When I used my curling tings, I could not see as the only plug for this was next to the bed with no mirrors in the bedroom. Though the hosts made all this feel not important as their.service level was above and beyond!
It was peaceful and little people traffic. The hosts were very friendly and made you feel at home!!

When we checked in, we werent even directed to our room. We had to find our way. The bedding was dirty. I found a cockroach on the table. I didnt enjoy breakfast, the mushroom wasnt even cooked. Box milk and box juice were served. Oh, not to mention, the Stone hard Bed!! People slaming their doors at night. Thank gudness the aircon blocked out some noise. Parking issue, and stairs

Some parts of the house are in disuse looking sad, and should be used more creatively. For example the bar area, the pool water feature and the jacuzzi. Breakfast could be served outside by the pool and on the lounge balcony instead of inside.

The large terrace has a small splash pool and plenty different style seating opportunities as well as a braai (bbq) area. The guest house is quiet and there are almost no sounds from tge street. The beach is across the street: A perfect spot for wind or kite surfing. Parking is very secure, in a garage. The staff are friendly and helpful and quite hospitable. Guests are allowed to braai and use the kitchen facilities. A laundry service is available in-house.
The bedroom interior looks aged in places. There is no elevator, so heavy items need to be carried up.

The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well looked after, with a relaxed, homely atmosphere. The hosts were welcoming and attentive, and the location is excellent.
