Location and house are perfect 😁

Das Haus war sehr geräumig, mit einer fantastischen Lage, wenn einen enge Straßen nicht stören. Es war sehr ruhig. Die Betten waren sehr bequem.

Leider wurden Anfragen per Mail vom Vermieter nicht, bzw. erst nach Abreise beantwortet. Ein Schlafzimmer ließ sich nicht lüften, aufgrund eines defekten Fensters.

Beautiful location. The kids loved the sheep and meeting the farmer and his dog who feeds them every night.

Absolutely amazing retreat! It was everything we could have wished for and more! The views from every window in the cottage and patio, all we can say is, wow wow wow! Absolutely breathtaking! We had the most fabulous time and Crohy Cottage had everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay! We spent most of our stay on the patio with the glorious views, the peacefulness and the beautiful wildlife surrounding us - simply heaven. We especially loved the wood burning stove. Thank you so much for having us!! :D

Wir waren 4 Tage im Cottage und wir haben immer noch Heimweh, so sehr hat uns das Cottage gefallen. Vom Haus hat man eine traumhafte Aussicht. Der Kamin sorgte für eine angenehme Wärme und Atmosphäre. Das Cottage ist sehr gut erreichbar, Parkplätze sind vorhanden. Ein toller Tagesabschluss war die kleine Wanderung zur Strand Bar (Pub mit Lifemusik am Wochenende). Das Haus liegt am Wild Atlantic Way.

Der Esel war leider nicht da.

Beautiful location, adorable cottage.

Location was good, view from dining area and living area were lovely. Owners were responsive when needed.

House was drafty, the heating system, whereby you only get 10 hours worth of heating irrespective of your length of stay, then charged €2 per hour after that is a strange set up. Showers quite poor.

House was great plenty of heat with oil and fire, beds comfortable and clean.

The cottage is in a beautiful setting. Views are stunning. Great walks from the cottage to natural attractions. Short drive from Dungloe which has many restaurants and supermarkets if you want to cook in.

Lage und Aussicht sind kaum zu übertreffen😍. Gastgeber war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit: selbst bei Ausfall der Wasserversorgung für 3 Tage durch den örtlichen Netzbetreiber wurde uns durch den Gastgeber geholfen. Es wurde uns eine Alternativunterkunft angeboten, die wir jedoch ablehnten da wir die Lage und Aussicht nicht hergeben wollten😉. Darauf wurde uns durch den Gastgeber Wasser in Flaschen gebracht zum kochen und für die Toilettenspülung. Unterkunft entspricht voll und ganz der Beschreibung.

Es sind keine Betriebsanleitungen/Informationen zu den Geräten in der Küche vorhanden; Glücklicherweise lässt sich per Internet fast alles herunterladen. Backofen könnte mal wieder eine gründliche Innenreinigung vertragen. Informationen zum Heizen mit dem Holzofen fehlen. Wir haben am 1.Abend zwar ein wunderbares Feuer entfacht aber die Radiatoren blieben kalt. Auf Nachfragen bekamen wir dann die Information dass wir zuerst für eine Stunde die Ölheizung in Betrieb setzen sollen und danach mit dem Holzofen weiterheizen, was dann auch funktionierte. W-Lan ist zwar vorhanden aber für heutige Verhältnisse sehr langsam😴.

A few little updates could make this place 10/10 Fix the picnic benches. New towels and update furniture a bit. Fix broken window handle. But only little things. Beautiful home would return

Wunderbare Lager und schönes Haus mit genialer Aussicht.

Die Matratzen sind teilweise wirklich sehr abgenutzt und durchgelegen. Diverse Fenster lassen sich nur schwer oder gar nicht öffnen - es wurde deshalb teilweise sehr stickig in einigen Zimmern. Zerrissene Vorhänge und keine bequeme Sitzgelegenheiten auf der eigentlich tollen Terrasse. Abends/Nachts ein im Haus sehr gut hörbares Geräusch von vermutlich der Lichtanlage bei der Haustür.

We absolutely loved views from all the windows. Outside area is very spacious with wooden table and benches.

Not much, a few small things like one bench outside is very worn out and not stable for sitting, but we used as dryer for beach clothes. Matrasses are a bit too soft, but it's again personal preference.

Location was amazing, comfy living area and brilliant views from the property.

Felt worn out, could do with some investment/TLC. Showers had next to no pressure. Property could do with a deep clean lots of dirt/food under seats and kitchen area oven etc needed cleaning.

Absolutely beautiful location ideal for family holiday. Breathtaking view from the cottage. Peace and quiet place. This cottage would be an absolute fantastic holiday accomodation...one of a kind...but....

This cottage doesn't need much to be perfect. Only a bit of attention and love. I felt like there is a bit of negligence regarding the service/ maintenance of the property which could do so much better and doesn't cost a fortune to fix it. I checked the property the first day and reported the issues I found ( lights not working upstairs , broken shower handle or window handle, tier and holes on the curtain, missing and broken lampshades)....and plus the dirty sofa and not the most comfortable mattresses made the whole issue worse...all these " little things" but too much all together. I don't want to sound too fussy but I believe that little bit of effort would make a huge difference. I read about these issues in 2-3 years old reviews about Crohy Cottage ( as I was curious if it's only me who feels like that ) ....and that's sad because this cottage has a spirit and you could feel like home even far away from your own home.

House was clean, comfortable and clearly well maintained. Host gave clear directions to the location of the house, which was well positioned within nature with exceptional views of the Bay and natural landscape of Donegal, regardless of the weather. Guidance given to the history of the area and ‘must see’ places to go. Very happy with the cost and will be back again!

The property was a fantastic little windswept cottage right on the crown of the Republic. The views were fantastic and the experience driving over the coastal boreen’s is always a fun commute. The bedrooms were comfortable and well sized, the stove was a brilliant addition and the owners kindly left a sizeable amount of firewood for us to use. At night, there’s barely a light in the sky which feels brilliantly primeval. Dungloe town is only a 10-min drive with fantastic coffee and sambos at Hook’d Coffee Co. There are a couple of carrot eager donkeys right on your doorstep and waking up to a cluster of cows expertly descending a coastal cliff side in search of tender morning vittles is a waking sight I shan’t soon forget.

The only minor criticism I have is that the tap water from the kitchen tap was quite cloudy/silty. We hadn’t prepared for this so had to boil water on night 1. However, it’s likely that Storm Éowyn may have affected wells/mains water in the area so this most likely is not the fault of the hosts.

Amazing location with a view on the sea right from the living room. We will cherish the memories of fire in the stove and beautiful seashore outside.

View was excellent, house was spacious and tidy. So quiet and relaxing apart from the wind, but that made it cosy! (And sensor light) But I will definitely stay again. Good value for money!

The front door sensor light occasionally made a humming noise at night. You could hear this in the bedrooms. Perhaps better instructions on the hot water system.

Beautiful spot, spacy and airy cottage with great outdoor space and fantastic views. We really wish we could have stayed longer.

I would like to suggest a couple of chopping boards more in the kitchen...

Amazing location and views - we first stayed 18 years ago with our then very young children. Lovely to come back with them as young adults, who were as blown away by the views as we first were. Enjoyed walking down to the coastline and clambering over the rocks.

We raised a few small things with the hosts who were very responsive

Beautiful cottage off the beaten track but 15 minutes away from plenty of facilities in the town of Dungloe. Clean, warm and comfortable. Breathtaking views. Highly recommended.

It was a lovely location and very special.

Shower didn’t work upstairs. Downstairs was very difficult to regulate. Logs were wet so the fire was hard to light and the glass in the stove is pure black because of this. Had there been a pint of milk in the fridge and the chance to make tea on arrival it would have been easy to forget the above.

Had several issues with the property; the front door key didn’t work, a bathroom light wouldn’t turn on, a toilet seat was broken, and the kitchen sink dripped non-stop. There was also sticky handprints all over the front window.

Excellent location and very clean

The location was absolutely amazing. We wanted somewhere we could experience a relaxing stay with scenery, and we got that and more. We lucked out with clear night skies and were in awe of witnessing the Leonid meteor shower on the Friday night. We brought some food and the facilities allowed for us to cook a lovely traditional Irish Breakfast both mornings, with the kitchen having all the necessary utensils. Dungloe is only a 15 minute drive, totally recommend a meal at McCarretys, we went there on the Saturday evening, and then headed back to the cottage before the storm and winds got too heavy. We lit the stove fire on the Saturday night and settled down to a nice Netflix movie in a very cozy living room. Matt and Nuala have made this place a lovely get-away for anyone who would love a quiet and relaxing time with amazing views. 10/10 Thank you guys.

The drive from Belfast was long, but we knew this when booking so can't complain, the location and the scenery made the journey worthwhile.

The cottage was clean, comfortable and spacious and has everything you need..a real home from home. The views we're spectacular especially as the weather was amazing too. I would highly recommend and look forward to returning sometime .
