Windmill cottage

Very clean,very cozy, and very conveniently located to the lovely town of Ardara, Donegal.

They washing machine was nice but the drying rack took a while to dry the clothes. The heat in the house was too warm and made sleeping difficult. The water in the shower had a strange "asparagus" smell. The fireplace was not used as there was no wood available or instructions.

The property was not very clean and required a good spring cleaning

We stayed for two nights and felt like home. Cozy little cottage has all we needed.

Such a cozy wee cottage with open fire which made the nights just bliss. Not far from Donegal town which was great and about 20 mins away from Killybegs which is also a beautiful spot for walks, the host was so lovely and approachable this was actually our second time staying there would defo come back and stay again.

It was very clean with all the house hold products and gadgets you’d need. It had a lovely sitting room and really comfortable beds.

Ruhig gelegen. Ausstattung völlig ausreichend. Der Ofen schafft auch bei typisch irischem Wetter Behaglichkeit.

Das Cottage war in einer sehr ruhigen Lage. Aber so wollten wir es. Wir reisten mit 2Hunden für die genug Platz war. Ein sehr schönes Cottage.Für 4 Personen ausreichend. Wir haben sehr gute Anweisungen bekommen, um das Haus zu finden. Auch waren die Hinweise für Heizung und WLAN sehr gut. Wer eine ruhige Unterkunft sucht ist hier genau richtig.

Das Einzige was nicht ganz perfekt war, war die wackelige Badewanne. Duschen war aber trotzdem möglich.

Een ruim huis, prachtig uitzicht, rustig gelegen. Goede uitvalsbasis om de omgeving te verkennen. Ook de eenvoudige keuken was goed gevuld met koffie, thee en kruiden.

Een echt gezellige, beschutte zithoek buiten was er nauwelijks.

The destination was great exactly what I was looking for . cottage had plenty of room for the 3 adults staying . The owners were very helpful as we had quite a few hiccups, and when I reached out these were fixed .

Unfortunately, apon arrival the cottage was dirty. The floors hadn't been brushed. There was dust on every surface, and we found a bottle of paprika under a chair in the living room and rubbish under the couch . This was upsetting as I picked based on the fabulous reviews as I would rather stay further out but somewhere good, so this was disappointing. Secondly when we arrived the heating was off and the bathroom window wide open so the cottage was freezing cold and took several hours to heat up we put the heating on straight away and then tried to light the fire but dint have anything to light the fire with however when I messaged the owner did send someone who was great and came and gave us what we needed and started the fire for us . On the second day the alarm kept going off to top up the electricity so we had to sort the with the own . This property has so much potential was just unfortunate few hiccups.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful quiet location .We slept so well and had amazing time with my family.

Some maintenance needed in the bathroom and definitely a new hoover (having disabled child I have to keep any place spotless )wheelie bin was full

We were with another couple and had the cottage to ourselves. Sharing the bathroom was no issue. Breakfast was not included as we had ability to make meals etc. Appreciated the comfort and warmth of the cottage. It was all and more of what we required fof the 2 nights.

We were prepared for rainy weather but we experienced more than our share. A dryer provided in the cottage would have been helpful as we were unable to hang clothes to dry.

The cottage is very cute and has all the amenities a family needs for a short stay.

The doors are quite noisy, especially in the middle of the night. The cottage was surface clean, but (maybe because it was the end of the season) it needed a deeper clean.

We loved the entire stay.

Cottage house; no breakfast included! The house is central of Slieve League, Ardara, and Donegal surrounded by beautiful scenery, and yes, windmills; ie, Windmill Cottage! House was as advertised; everything required was available; initially, we had difficulty with the WiFi, but the host, Karen, was able to re-boot and life was good. We would definitely stay again!

Lovely spacious cottage with a fire place and all other necessities. Far enough away from the hustle and bustle of town life, but just 15mins away from the nearest grocery store, so just perfect.

No dislikes that I can think of... we had a great time away as a family.

No host interference. House is close to Donegal Town and the sea points. House has fire place and central heating too. We could cook for ourselves .

The cottage was ready for us, even with an early arrival. The cottage was clean, comfortable and completely stocked with kitchenware. We were able to enjoy time sitting on the front patio enjoying fresh air and view.

The cottage is a fair distance from Donegal.

Just one tiny thing. I found the matress in the main room too soft for my liking. Otherwise everything else was 100%

We were very happy with the location of Windmill Cottage, the outlook over a lovely valley, sheep in a paddock nearby. Our main interest was to tour County Donegal, especially Slieve League which was spectacular. We also enjoyed many other sights in the area. The house was very comfortable and met our needs. We enjoyed sitting out around the picnic table and enjoying the sunshine at the end of a day of exploring.

The cottage was clean and tidy in the middle of the countryside. We used here as a base its a great location about 20mins from Donegal Town. And in easy reach of other local towns and attractions.

The heating didn't work. On the plus side a quick message to the owner and this was promptly sorted

As usual this wee gem has everything to offer. Hosts are incredibly responsive if anything is needed. It is so relaxing to be able to come for a few days break and have all your amenities at hand. Can't want to get back down again as my partner and I have now stayed twice and plan to keep coming back down. I love the fact it is so reasonably priced and close to restaurants and shops but far enough the nights are quiet. The views are phenomenal as well outside.

The location was great close to our family we were visiting. The cottage was very clean and comfortable.

The cottage was private and spacious and dog friendly. Karen was very helpful and answered any queries very quickly. Great location able to go to Ardara, Killybegs and Donegal.

Not enough outside seating. No toilet brush. No lock on the toilet. Bedroom windows don't open. Broken glass on the rear b b q area. Outside areas could be a lot tidier. .

The weather

Wi-Fi was good. Location was good. Full kitchen. Laundry.

Little information given to us about the property, how to use the thermostat/radiator system/laundry machine (had to search for it and how to use it), no wifi password given (in Canada it is rare to use a router password). Would be helpful is owner sent us a message with the above info or had a paper/info sheet there with directions/info about the above. Cleanliness was also poor. Dirty towels behind door, in sink, microwave was dirty, dirty pots, kitchen counter was not cleaned, hairs on the pillows in the main bed. Cutting board still had food remnants on it.
