A Place in the Paddock

IT’SO SO CUTE!!!!!!!! Extremely easy to check in and out, very lovely owner who made it all super easy. The house is gorgeous, the views are incredible, couldn’t recommend it more!

Nothing it was perfect

Had all the amenities we needed, the beds were comfy, the location was convenient, and the cow theme was so cute!

The only thing that was an issue were the blinds in two of the bedrooms being a little short, so the sun came in earlier than my teenage sons would have liked (but I didn't mind ;)

The location was fantastic. Cows lowing in the distance.

Lovely peaceful country location but still handy to town. Everything you needed was available. Grandkids enjoyed all the cow toys, ornaments, especially the cow hot water bottles.

Evertything about this place is amazing. The house is just beautiful in a lovely rural setting. Tastefully furnished, comfy beds and plenty or room. The decor has a cow theme, which was perfect for the location. Outside had a large seating area and was so peaceful with wonderful views over the countryside. I would definatly recommed staying here..just perfect

Super clean, comfortable, unique. Close to Hobbiton. Aircon was appreciated. The town is close to get supplies or take aways. Well priced.

Lovely location on a farm with great views. Plenty of cows to look at. Very spacious and well set up for a young family.

The views from every angle are stunning. The location is perfect and easy to find and get to town for supplies. The cottage was warm and inviting from the moment we stepped inside. There were some pantry items which we could utilise as we cooked our meals there at night.

We cant say that there is anything that we didn’t like.

What an amazing place! Quaint private cottage in the middle of farmland, stunning location. Well provisioned. Plus only 20 mins from Hobbiton!

Loved the quietness amd country feel. A beautiful stop. People in town were friendly. Didn't want to leave.

Loved the decor, everything was provided, awesome location.

I initially was sad there were no cows, but in the morning we were treated to a whole trail of cows walking past our window - twas lovely!

It was in great place middle of a working farm, cow's walking past to get milked and not far from Hobbiton.

It was a lovely, ultimate Kiwi experience for my visitors from the Philippines! Thank you for the electric blankets which added such comfort! The views around the house were superb! So relaxing!

A bit difficult to dispose of trash correctly.

We loved the location out in the Paddock. Was great to experience living in the middle of "nowhere" but still be a short 8 min ride away from the shops and restaurants in Matamata. Was also easy to get to Hobbiton and the Blue Springs and Rotorua. The Sunset over the fields was stunning. There were multiple games, books and a big flat screen tv for entertainment on a rainy day.

There was not anywhere to hang towels to dry inside. The lightning in the living room was overly bright and thus not very cozy in the evening. Most of the glasses, cups and cutlery had not been cleaned well and was left dirty in the cupboards (probably by the previous guests, but not sure why this had been checked by cleaning staff between next guests).

Pretty view. Clean and comfortable. Smooth check in with locked box.

Food in the pantry has been left in there that was out of date by 2-3 years. I cleaned a few things out. Probably left from previous guests.

Location

Clean, plenty of linen , sheets, towels, mattresses etc to cater to our group of 11. We loved the cow theme throughout. The kitchen equipment was tidy, in good taste and adequate for our needs. The location was convenient for our trips to Rotorua and Tauranga.

The flies were a tad inconvenient. The kids started a couple of board games but they had missing pieces so they got bored quickly. Everything else was likeable.

The house is exactly as advertised and spotless.

Place is nice and in a nice setting. Cow themed decoration in the house is amazing, down to the cups and glasses etc.

The inconvenience of having just one bathroom and one toilet for a group of nine. Pots and pans and skillet are worn out.

I loved the house . Needed a dryer though. It rained a lot and we had trouble getting our clothes dry. I loved watching the cows in the morning and evening. Had an early wake up call from an angry bull in the yard which was quite funny.

Like I said needs a dryer and the shower needs to be bigger. Apart from that beautiful place.

It was lovely staying rural and a bonus that our dog got to come with us. Plenty of space outside to play fetch with the dog. House was clean and cozy with comfortable beds. Would definitely go back.

Wow, what a beautiful holiday stay. Opened the door to a comfortable warm temperature and beautiful fresh scent. This house is the best holiday stay so far and will be hard to beat. Everything considered for the quest, comfy beds and lounge it’s a home away from home. Cannot fault a thing. Can’t wait to come back for a longer stay. Loved the cows. Thank you.

Awesome location, close to town centre but incredibly private. Awesome to be able to take the dog. Loved the cows in the morning. The cow theme was awesome and the rooms etc were comfortable and clean. We will definitely be back

We only had two nights booked

Best place we stayed while in NZ. Perfect location and if you love cows you are in for a treat. So comfortable and warm with plenty of space and beautiful countryside noises.

Lovely property in good location. Peaceful with beautiful outlook over paddocks and beyond. Pretty sunset views.

The house was well appointed but it was very cold. No heating in the bedrooms and they were freezing. Even with the heat pump on full the lounge was barely warm enough. There were plenty of blankets but we did not expect to have to wrap in them all the time. The oven didn’t work which was very disappointing and very inconvenient as I had brought beautiful prepared meals for my granddaughters and we couldn’t cook them. That meant making very unsatisfactory and costly alternatives

The hosts have thought of every thing you could possibly need and little extras like hot water bottles, games, soft toys were appreciated. It was perfect for a family ranging in age from 5 to 75.

The homely house

Lovely cottage, very homely and clean, with a well equipped kitchen, game shelf, tea, coffee, and hot chocolates. We made use of the hot water bottles and heaters to warm up after a chilly afternoon. Great communication, lovely location, beautiful green paddocks, and we loved waking up to the chirping birds and mooing cows.

The location was great as we were going to Hobbiton on the Sunday

It was all good

A magical little place down a quiet country lane. No road noise, no noise other than the birds and the cows. Only a couple of minutes from town and even closer to our wedding venue. Everything we needed was there, and more! It was perfect to be honest, we could not have asked for anything better! Plenty of room and comfortable for the 4 adults in our party. Thank you so much. :)

Perfect family house to visit Hobbiton

A place in the Paddock is a lovely space on a farm just outside of Matamata- there is a small museum on property- the space is clean, quiet and just lovely!

We had no complaints about the property

The calming sounds of the surroundings, the shower, the lemon tree (and homemade lemonade), the board games, and all the cow-themed stuff.

Great, cute farmstead location, easy check in, clean property - well stocked! Two families stayed comfortably - we used it as a base for Hobbiton explore and it was perfect!

Beautiful cottage and beautiful surroundings. Home from home, clean, everything you need for a family, even board games! We wished we could stay longer!

The house was very clean and had a good view of farm when we went out in the porch. The owner was very friendly and accomodating. Had a good time staying in the place just for one night.

A Place in the Paddock was lovely! The surroundings of the farm and nature was really serene and it was comfortable to relax ourselves as it was away from the crowd and noise (much more peaceful than the cities). We enjoyed the view very much and even got to see the farm animals from afar, such as the cows marching at dawn and the rabbit stealing some lettuce; how cute!! Even though the weather wasn’t perfect (it was wet and dreary), we still enjoyed having a stroll around the farm and snapping photos at every opportunity. The apartment was large and cozy, with fragrance (and a cow theme which is cute) in every room, even the toilet! We even got the chance to bring a book home from the collection, but it was a pity that none caught our interest :( (I did like the 100 Wonders of the World, though…)

There wasn’t enough power points, with none at the children’s room. The key was not at a very obvious place as we had a hard time finding it, much less unlocking the container (though I think the fault was kinda on our side haha…)
