The Old Beach Cottage, Achill

Super Lage in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Strand (nur Dorfstrasse, Wiese und Dünen dazwischen), sehr ruhig gelegen, romantische, gemütliche Atmosphäre in historischem Haus, sehr funktionell eingerichtet, Wohlfühlklima durch Schwedenofen im Wohnzimmer.

Es hat etwas zu wenig Wand-/Garderobehaken im Haus, Flur, in den Zimmern

The cottage was tired and in need of care

I liked everything. The cottage is old but comfortable. It's a bit cold but that's expected but heaters are adequate and that made our stay pretty comfortable. The location is just fantastic, just in front of the Dugort beach quiet and serene. Finally, staff are fabulous. Trish was so welcoming and awesome. She was always present in WhatsApp whenever we needed and very positively responsive. Overall an awesome stay, my dad is an avid traveller and he was super impressed with the whole antique ambiance and comfort.

There is nothing I specifically didn't like. It's my fault that I don't know how to use a real fireplace so we couldn't use them but this place is perfect for using those and have a more magical experience.

Beautiful property, quiet peaceful area. Lovely place to escape to for a relaxing break.

There is nothing negative to say about this property. The owner was excellent at communicating with us. He made recommendations about stuff to do in Achill. We had the number of the caretaker also. It is so close to the beach, shop and a bar if you want to go for a drink. The beach across the road is stunning and not crowded. The cottage itself is just stunning- beautifully laid out with all equipment, utensils etc required for complete self catering. The house is actually bigger than the impression given in the photos. Loved the half door as you could keep the top open and watch the world go by. Would definitely recommend and would love to go back.

Having to leave...

The location was amazing with the beach across the road. The house was beautiful and very special indeed. Easy walk to local pub and eatery. People were very friendly too.

No key or lock on the bathroom door but great shower.

No complaints about the accommodation

Quaint College with large high ceiling room within a short walk to the beach. Quiet & Peaceful.

The 6pm check in time and 10am check out time is unusually restrictive.

Location was the main priority. It had perfect views of Slievemore and day trips around Achill from the Atlantic Drive to Keem bay and all the small villages. All the appliances worked excellent and had everything we needed to cook and relax in the living area.

Only concern would be the front door. It was a bit stuck and hard to open and close without a hard tug or thigh shove. Everything else was spot on and worked very good.
