Beach View Heights, Dugort, Achill Island

The House was lovely and spacious with stunning views over Dugort Beach. Had everything we needed for a great holiday. Maureen and Kevin were super helpful and made sure our stay was excellent.

Very spacious, comfortable house with sea view and walking distance to a lovely little beach. The house was very clean and very well equipped. Our hosts Kevin and Maureen responded immediately to any queries we had.

It was a little bit away from restaurants but we did book late and were able to use taxis. Not really a criticism!

We absolutely loved the house, it was so spacious and comfortable. The views of the sea and mountains from every window was just incredible. The bedrooms were really big, each with a bathroom and the beds were comfortable too. The sitting room was lovely to relax in and the kitchen dining room was really big too and well equipped. The house is well secured which we were very happy with as we had our dog with us. The area Dugort is a great place to be situated for exploring Achill. Just a short walk to the blue flag beach and not far from pubs and cafes.

We stayed here the second week in July , it was a family holiday and our ages ranged from 18 to 80. The property itself was perfect . Stunning views of the beach to go with a morning coffee . The beds were comfy , the shower always perfect temp , spacious , bright … the twin and double upstairs had the best views but it’s great to have the downstairs bedroom option for anyone who finds stairs difficult . The location of the property was amazing .. on the side of a mountain with only a five (ish) minute walk along a country lane til you’re on the beach .. a short stroll along the sand and you reach the famous red fox press and can enjoy food or a coffee in An Dún .. you’d be close to everywhere .. our favourite 7 minute drive was to the Valley for dinner , drinks , music , craic .. I had no idea about the area and choosing Beach View heights was pot luck but I feel extremely lucky we booked there . Kevin and Maureen were lovely over email and I got to meet them when we were leaving , really lovely hosts with a property Id love to stay in again

The house is in a great location with wonderful views of Dugort strand. Very comfortable bed and a lovely kitchen for sitting in. Lots of great local walks. Kevin and Maureen were very helpful and quick to respond to questions.

Well, it did rain rather a lot, but nothing to he done about that!

The location was wonderful. Lovely views over the beach and 5 minute walk to the sand and the pub. Spacious and clean.

Paying extra for electricity

Getting there was easy enough, single track road for the last 400 Meters to the house. Parking was easy and getting into the house was also easy. The location was great, short walk to the beach and the Strand Hotel pub. Other locations for food and drink where not to far away, short drive to Keel for other restaurants and pubs. House was relaxing and the view was great from the living room, we had plenty of space to stretch out and enjoy. The kitchen had the needed items for cooking and enough serving for a family.

We had some issues with water pressure that where not resolved while we where there. The fine print about paying for the electricity is easy to miss and should just be included into the overall price.

Loved the view of the beach from the sitting room window. We enjoyed our stay, Maureen and Kevin were lovely and helpful with advice. They left a booklet with information, helpful tips and phone numbers ready. The house was lovely, clean and beautifully bright. We will be returning.

The location is great and central on the island so you're able to access the various touristic attractions with reasonable driving distance from the house. The view of the beach and mountain directly from the dining room and front porch is gorgeous. The owners made it a breeze for us to access the house and were very helpful.

Be cautious on the road when getting to the house as it's narrow and there are a few blind corners depending on the route you take to get there. (Not related to the house itself)

Great house, location was fantastic just a short stroll to the beach. House is so comfortable, clean and well equipped. Really high standard. We didn’t want for anything for our stay. Had great weather for September so didn’t require a lot of heating but the bit we did use it, great instant heat and held well within the property. We had our two small dogs with us and excellent outdoor space which is secure and safe. Property owners very communicative and provided great local information for events on/taxis etc. pleasure to deal with

Beautiful location. The house was amazing , very warm, spacious , spotless and everything you could need. The views from the house are just a piece of heaven. Every window was like a framed picture

Nothing . Everything was perfect. We may have not got the weather for the 3 nights we were there but the house surely made up for that that !

Beautiful house, very well equipped, in a fantastic location. Has everything you need for a relaxing holiday and is close to all activities and amenities. Blackout blinds and good curtains are particularly good for children who might wake early if it's bright!

Lovely house in a lovely location,nice and quiet, perfect for a family. The house was well equipped, it was full of toys for kids that ours enjoyed very much. I would fully recommend it for a family vacation

Beautiful spacious house with everything you could need such as hairdryer and straightener, soap, washing up liquid and clothes, tea sugar and coffee. View from front of house was breathtaking. Dog friendly which is a bonus. The beach in front of the Strand hotel was lovely. A good base to explore the beautiful island.

Was a bit remote, strand hotel was a 7 to ten minute country road walk depending on how mary sheep got in your way 😳

This house was perfect for our group of 6. Spacious, clean and all needs taken care of with lots of details to make you feel very at home and comfortable. Walking distance to the beach and strand hotel bar with beautiful views from the house. Hosts are also lovely people, can’t recommend enough

The house and location was ideal, only about 5mins from a beautiful sandy beach that we had almost to ourselves.

Very spacious and set in a beautiful location with fabulous views towards the beach. Excellent facilities throughout the house to use during our stay.

Would have been ideal to have had a set of towels for each person on the booking rather than one set per en-suite and bathroom but this wasn't a major issue. Hosts had advised us about this beforehand but we couldn't bring extra towels as we had been travelling beforehand and hadn't brought extra towels.

Fantastic location , lovely house , was spotless and had all the amenities needed Owners were very responsive - no issues at all during the stay Even left behind something by accident and owners mailed it back to us :) Achill is a lovely island.

Only minor gripe is cost of electricity is extra to the booking cost - dont understand why it can be included in the booking price

Maureen & Kevin could not of made our stay any easier and it was hassle free. The house was very clean and in a perfect location and wonderful views with a short walk to the local bar and beach. I would highly recommend this property.

Beautiful well equipped comfortable house. We're sorry we could only manage 1 night here! Maureen and Kevin were great hosts coming out to settle us in to the property and answering messages promptly.

The location was fabulous, a few minutes walk to the beautiful Silver Strand Beach in Dugort and we could hear the gentle hum of the ocean when we opened the front door, fabulous views and the house was beautiful, bright and spacious, would highly recommend..

Spacious house with beautiful views of sea and mountains. Walking distance to the beach and pub, this house is a great base for touring Achill. Close by is Keel Beach and the fabulous Keem. We really enjoyed our stay at Beach View Heights , our hosts were exemplary and we shall return.

Didn't manage to meet our hosts but Maureen and Kevin were available and in contact and were very friendly and helpful. The house is very neat,comfortable and clean with good views of the beach. A detailed folder was available with info about the house and info in and around Achill which we found very useful. Thank you both. We will be back 😊

We had a lovely stay. Beautiful spacious house. Perfect for families. Located just a short walk to the beach with lovely sea views from the house also. We had everything we needed. The toys left for kids were a lovely touch and well enjoyed. Thanks to Maureen and Kevin for being so attentive. We'll definitely be back!

Kevin and Maureen were exceptional hosts they made sure everything was set up for us and checked in with us via text to make sure everything was good. The house is ideally located close to the beach. Every room was very clean. All modern appliances in the kitchen in case you needed to cook. My favourite feature was in the cosy living room. There was a lovely seat where you could look out to the sea. The beds were very comfy with electric blankets. Our dogs had great space in the kitchen. I'm already looking forward to a return trip!!
