Ocean View Doogort

Great location, very clean and prepared. Excellent host and gave thorough induction.

Nothing at all substantial but a few Superficial housekeeping items - if there could be bins in the two bathrooms, a better shower curtain in the master bathroom as the current allows for many leaks. The Hoover that was there was very bulky and not easy to manage around the property. A bigger tv would be welcome for evenings as the current is quite small.

Nous avons été très bien accueillis. Le logement est grand et confortable, on y est très bien. En bas il y a une grande pièce principale avec un salon, une table pour manger et un lit 2 places dans la mêmepièce. Il y a aussi des toilettes et une grande cuisine très bien équipée. A l'étage il y a un grand dortoir avec 2 lits doubles et 1 lit simple, et une salle de bain - toilettes. Les moutons se promènent librement dans l'île et autour de la maison aussi, c'est le charme de l'Irlande. La vue est magnifique, océan et montagne.

We are just back from Ocean View and had the best time. House is so nice and comfortable with multiple beds and the biggest plus for us was that we could bring our dog. Our host Val was so nice and welcoming and it was so nice to meet him.House had everything that we needed and was nice and warm and also so close to the beach, we can’t recommend it enough we will definitely be back ❤️

Home away from home. Very spacious, clean, warm house and extremely comfortable. Val met us on arrival and gave us a tour and tourough run down of the house. Beautiful views from every window. I couldn't fault a single thing. I would definitely rent here again.

Friendly welcome & location

Wir wurden noch sehr spät am Abend sehr freundlich vom Vermieter empfangen. Es wurde uns alles erklärt und wertvolle Tipps in Bezug auf die Umgebung gegeben. Das Haus ist schön eingerichtet und bietet wirklich alles was man für einen Familienaufenthalt benötigt. Es sind häufig Schafe rund ums Haus und ab und zu kommen auch zwei liebe Hütehunde vorbei. Das hat den Kindern sehr gefallen. Alles sehr idyllisch. Der Blick auf das Meer und den Berg sind wirklich klasse. Ein toller Strand ist in 5 Minuten fußläufig zu erreichen. Diese Unterkunft kann man wirklich nur empfehlen.

Val was an exceptional host, he met us at the property and talked us through everything to do with the house and the island itself. The house was cosy and clean with everything we needed. The location is fantastic, 2 minutes walk from the stunning Dugort beach. We will certainly return to Ocean View.

I love staying at this property, everything is perfect, location, the spaciousness of the house and it's so relaxing perfect for our holiday and needs.

Second time staying in Ocean View. It is home from home , Val is a wonderful host , really lovely man and so helpful and kind. The location is a stones throw from Dugort beach. Which is one of the most beautiful beaches in all the land . I could sit on the sand or swim in the sea for hours

This property is amazing value for money. The owner is so friendly and very attentive. The location is fantastic. Amazing sunsets and beach very close. A few items are tired but very clean. Bathrooms and kitchen are great. The owner is definitely undercharging. Value for money is off the scale.

Some furniture needs updating but at this price, cannot be faulted.

Val prepared a property fully kitted out, spotless and comfortable, with attention to detail. Location was subjective and in our case 150%. We had a great stay as a result.

Not 'didn't like' ie wrong question Booking.com!! Constraints are distance from facilities like groceries, newspapers, bakerys, butchers, etc but this is Achill, and north of island, exposed to Atlantic and very challenging environment for locals to live year around...easy for guests to nit pick...visible signs of area deprived economically which is sad to observe, given the proliferation of holiday homes, which as an outsider, begs the question why is the tourist season confined so much to june/July as many seasonal businesses hadn't begun to be fully operational mid May, could be wrong but we toured all corners in 4 days after hiking.

The location, the beds all the facilities. Excellent dog friendly accommodation. I would highly recommend this accommodation to families and groups we had everything we needed and Val the host was very welcoming.

We loved ocean view . Doogort was perfect location we could walk our dog on the beach morning and evening which he loved !! House has everthing we needed and stunning views . Host is lovely and took the time to tell us about the area . We loved lighting the fire in the evening after a day of exploring and adventures . We loved it so much we have booked again for next year ❤️

Terrific location and spotless cottage with cosy fire and comfortable bed.

There’s nothing I didn’t like.

Val's cottage was perfect for our family of four. We had lots of space and kitchen was equipped with everything you may need. It's also a short stroll to amazing beach and kids loved local sheep dog that came to greet us everyday. There was very good communication from the owner as Achill was hit by major storm just days earlier. I thought that we would need to cancel but Val managed to have everything up and running for us. Top notch. We'll definitely stay again.

House is lovely. Much bigger than the photos make it seem. Living room has a double bed and downstairs toilet to the back, very handy if you're disabled. Upstairs has 2 double beds and a single. It's very clean and comfortable.

The heating didn't work but we didn't want to make a fuss so we just used the open fire as the weather was very mild. I was supposed to take my dogs but decided not to and put them in kennels. Had I taken them, they would not have been happy about the dogs there that live near by and come into the property if the door is left ajar. One of my dogs is very friendly but my chiuahaha is not when it comes to other dogs and this would have meant a lot of hassle. Also the dogs pooed outside the front door on one occasion and my little one stood in it. Some people really don't like dogs either so a fair warning if this would bother you.

Val is a wonderful host. Ideal location. We love it.

Beautifull Ocean View cottage . Views amazing and beach just down the road , always accompanied by a sheep , was such a lovely stay . Cottage was clean and everything we needed , comfy beds plenty of towels, t towels etc , plenty cutlery, pots and pans . Microwave , washing machine. Open fire which was perfect at night time when it got chilly added to the whole scenery. Nearest shop is in keel about 10 min drive so stock up when ya go . 😁 Even the drive to shop is breath taking . And Val was so nice , gave us all the info . Was the perfect few days away for complete relaxation and forget about your worries. Just Chill 😎 and doggies allowed 🐶 which our little one loved her daily walks on the beach .

The location was great and the beach was just a small walk away. The property was lovely and a great view of both the ocean and mountains. Plenty of beds and very comfortable, nice little kitchen with fridge freezer, oven & hob, microwave, kettle & utensils. Plenty of towels and tea towels. Bedding was clean and very comfortable. Oil heating was great if it got cold and a fireplace if you wish to lite the fire. Our host was very informative and a lovely man. My only recommendation to our host would be to invest in an air fryer, as most people use them and they are convenient for a quick meal. Enjoyed our stay very much. Thank you.

We stayed for 4 nights, 2 adults, 2 kids and a dog. Ideal location 2 min walking to the beach, 10 min walk to the pier where we spent hours fishing.

The house was in a beautiful location. We had everything we needed and were very comfortable. There were shades on the skylights upstairs to keep out the morning light. We really appreciated that.

The shower curtain was very long and was difficult to dry.

The cottage was bigger, more modern and more comfortable than the photos suggest.

The wifi wasn't much good - we could sometimes pick up a signal but it wasn't very strong.

Ocean View is a lovely, well equipped cottage, everything works perfectly. It is in fact nicer than the photos suggest. Stunning location, very scenic, 3 minutes from the beach. Val is a friendly and helpful host. I felt very welcome and had a great time in Duggort- even in February.

Ocean view cottage has lovely views out every window. It's set in a quiet location with a short walk to the beach. The cottage is open plan and laid out very well. It was spotlessly clean.

Val was an excellent host told us all about Achill, the house was super clean and comfortable, the location was unreal, cozy cottage but modern inside and the sheep just roam freely, it was breathtaking

Everything was just perfect. It was spotless clean, met Val who was so accommodating. It’s right on the beach. Very cosy and comfortable. Kitchen is fully equipped, plenty of bath towels, beds are very comfortable, open fire, washing machine. Parking at the door. I have not one bad thing to say about this house, I have a feeling we will be coming back here for a long time to come.

It was self catering. Cooking facilities, utensils etc, excellent.

Bathrooms would benefit if clothes hooks were installed. A mirror would be useful near a plug for hair drying.

Beautiful cottage beside beach with amazing views of Achill. It was a pleasant experience.

The house was just perfect. It has everything you might need. Val gave us a very extensive introduction of the house. The kitchen is very well equipped. The central heating ist working very good and makes the house warm and cosy. There is also an open fireplace. There is only one bedroom upstairs, but it is very spacious with three beds for up to 5 people plus another double bed on the ground floor.

Val was a lovely host, place was spotless on arrival with a comprehensive handover in person!

Location was beautiful, stock the car up before you get there! Achill was beautiful!!
