We didnt get to meet the host, but his parents standing in for him did a fabulous job. They were very welcoming and generous allowing us to visit their fruits garden where we had fresh raspberries, blackcurrants and helped with the outdoor fireplace. Even though it was next to a road, we didnt hear a thing and it was actually quite peaceful and quiet. The house had all the amenities we needed for comfortable stay - well equipped kitchen, games for us to play. Locationwise it was near the ferry terminal and the Blue Lake/ Blåisvatnet.
The 2nd bedroom with bunk beds good for 4 people is in the basement and was generally quite damp and we could see efforts to make it more comfortable. The washing machine was also in the basement. The staircase was quite tight and not recommended if your mobility is poor. It didnt affect our stay though as we spent most of our time in the main house which was very cosy and comfortable.

Reviewed Jan 20, 2026Fantastische locatie langs het water en uitzicht op de bergen. Helaas hadden we pech met het slechte weer, maar met een beetje geluk heb je hier een schitterende plek om het noorderlicht te zien. De ferry ligt op 2 minuten rijden. Moderne keuken.
De tweede slaapkamer ligt in de kelder, te bereiken door een stijle trap. Hier is het erg muf en slechte ventilatie.

Reviewed Jan 4, 2026We stayed with 4 adults for 5 days. A beautifully decorated and clean place, we felt welcome from the first moment. We spent quite some time in the cabin as our trip was during the arctic nights and it was always warm and cozy. The kitchen is very well equipped. The bathroom is also very nice and warm.
The highlight were the hosts, who are extremely helpful. Our car got miserably stuck in the snow and the host towed us with his tractor.
Another highlight was the location: close to winter walks, husky rides and much more. And: we could see northern lights from the backyard!
We will be back for sure, thank you for everything!!!
Everything was perfect! Just some points to keep in mind when booking this place:
- EV charging stations are ~20mins away, we got an gas car so we wouldn’t run into issues
- to get to the property from Tromso you need to take a ferry or do a longer detour (~2,5h total). The ferry only starts running late on weekends. Keep that in mind if you have an early flight from Tromso or a tour booked (eg. whale watching) from Tromso.

Zeer schoon, compleet en comfortabel uitgerust.
Schöne Unterkunft auf einem landwirtschaftlichen Gelände, es war alles da was man braucht, um sich wohlzufühlen. Das Bett war sehr bequem. Großes Wohnzimmer mit moderner Küche.
Sehr toll: Waschmaschine und Trockner im Keller vorhanden.
Perfekte Lage, um die Lyngen Alps zu erkunden. Die Lage am Fjord ist toll, allerdings hat man vom Wohnzimmer aus nur den Blick auf Bäume, die den Fjordblick verdecken 😉 also kurz über die Straße und schon steht man am Strand.
Wir hatten das Glück, auch Nordlichter zu sehen.
Die Besitzer sind sehr nett und helfen gerne, wenn man Fragen hat.

Rien tout était parfait!
Maravillosa cabaña que une lo antiguo con lo moderno. Cocina perfecta con todo lo que necesitas, cama cómoda, todo limpio. Te sientes como en casa. La acogida por parte de los anfitriones fue muya cordial. Nos recomendaron varios sitios que visitar y así lo hicimos. Vimos la aurora. Las vistas muy bonitas con unos árboles llenos de pájaros. La recomiendo

Die zentrale Lage dieses Ferienhauses auf der Halbinsel Lyngen, direkt am Fjord mit Blick nach Westen und gleich neben der Svensby-Fähre gelegen, ist ein sehr guter Ausgangsplatz für vielseitige Wanderungen.
Leider konnte ich die wundervolle Aussicht nicht frei von innen genießen, denn durch große Bäume war sie fast ganz verdeckt; das kann zwar kalte Westwinde abhalten, schränkt aber vom Wohn-Küchen- und Essbereich den Blick arg ein.

Gute Lage, keine 5 Minuten von der Fähre entfernt, jedoch ruhig, weil etwas oberhalb der Straße. Parken vor der Tür. Schöner Ausblick auf den Fjord. Das Apartment ist nicht mehr ganz modern, ist aber geräumig, alles sauber und hat alles, was man braucht. Neben dem (schmalen) Doppelbett in der Hauptetage gibt es noch ein Zimmer mit 3 Betten im Keller (etwas weniger gemütlich, aber gut, wenn man es braucht). Waschmaschine und Trockner auch im Keller vorhanden.
Man muss wissen, dass das nächste Supermarkt in Lyngseidet, ca. 20 Minuten entfernt ist (mit dem Auto).

Reviewed Jan 30, 2025I loved the stay! It’s beautiful and comfortable! The view from the window is stunning. There is a small hill next to the house (within the property) that is perfect for watching the northern lights. We drove around to see them in other places, but the view from the house was perfect! You can also walk down to the beach, which is lovely. The road from Tromsø Airport to the house is good and safe, even in winter. Just be mindful of the ferry schedule (as it’s the only way to get there). I’ve already recommended this place to friends who have booked their stay for February! The price is fair!
I’ll post a photo of the view from the window at night, watching the northern lights.
One drawback, which is not the hosts’ fault, is that it’s far from supermarkets and electric car charging stations.

We chase the aurora for 300 km around tromso but we couldn’t see it. As we park back at property, very disapinted we look up and there it was! 3 days in a row same spot! Just ask her anything, she will help

During the storm they helped us a lot and checked if we were okay. They made our stay wonderful and recommend several great hikes we did. We would always come back again.

One of the bedrooms and the washing machine are in the basement - the stairs are a bit steep for one with knee weakness.
