Very kind considerate host
While breakfast was included, it was more like a boarding house as you had to cook it yourself. .
Beautiful house and gardens. Owner very accommodating and helpful
Didn't stay long enough
Lovely owner and big rooms and helpful when hungry at late arrival , silent and lovely surroundings
no cooked breakfast prepared
Very nice host. I had a good Time there. I can highly recommend this place. I would like to visit this place again.
The hostess was amazing, very polite and hospitable. Room was clean, facilities were clean, full access to food if needed catered for what I needed. Only downside was trying to find it as it has no eircode. Thats the only downside Would stay again 100%.
Quite location
Location lovely, lovely garden and views of the countryside.
Perhaps a waitress or someone to greet you at the breakfast, would make it more enjoyable. Otherwise it was ok, but a bit basic.
Host was very friendly and helpful
If you appreciate old world charm and genuine no frills hospitality, coupled with a nostalgic reminder of the loveliness of the old irish family home, you will love this place. Ireally enjoyed my 2 nights here.
I didn't want to leave.
Attended a wedding at the nearby Darver Castle, nothing was any hassle, was so close to the venue, met the host on arrival. She provided me with taxi numbers for later on that night if I needed, lovely clean tidy property and had a mighty sleep 🙌 would definitely stay again
quiet and simple rooms, access to kitchen to prepare your own breakfast (all foods provided)
would have preferred a kettle in the room and maybe a TV to catch the news
Breakfast was "Do it yourself". Everything you could possibly want for breakfast was provided. The hostess was very friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. The house was furnished to a very high classical standard. It would be impossible to get better. The bathroom was huge. I cannot speak too highly of this house. As my daughter would say , it was "well posh", but also homely. Probably the nicest stay I've had anywhere. Well worth the money.
The location is slightly off the beaten track. I've marked the location down slightly to emphasise the exceptional things about this house. In reality there was nothing I didn't like about my stay here.
This is a beautiful old house in a gorgeous setting, it was an absolute treat to stay here! The host is friendly and incredibly welcoming.
It was a 5 minute walk to the local pub and shop which was great 😃👍
It said breakfast included but it didn't say you had to cook your own breakfast? 🤔
fine old house with loads of character
Big house with basic but comfortable rooms. Parking available in the garden surrounding the house. Self service breakfast in the kitchen with a lot of options. Good communication with the hosts.
Nothing, all good.
Everything was lovely
I enjoy my stay and will recommend people to the facility
Clean and tidy
The house was large, old and well built, very comfortable. Walls and doors were solid, so everything was quiet and private, in spite of multiple guests in different rooms. The morning garden surrounding the house are well kept and beautiful. Our hosts Dennis and Mairead we’re absolutely delightful and so very, very helpful. Great communication and very accommodating. Wish we could’ve stayed there longer.
The warm welcome and genuine friendliness. The host proactively offered the best available room, showed me around, found a secure spot for my bicycle, and stayed available for any questions. The Old Parochial House is absolutely stunning.
Nothing. everything was perfect.
Clean, spacious and laid back home from home vibe. Friendly host. Wished I had been staying longer
I couldn't find it. There are two parochial houses. A what3words or eircode would have helped
The property and the host were both excellent, couldn’t have been more accommodating and would highly recommend staying in this venue.
Cleanliness Value for money

Maireid was so lovely and helpful, making sure everything was OK for me.
Cornflakes
Comfortable rooms, good facilities in a bed and breakfast.
The host Margaret was very welcoming , the room was comfortable and warm .
There were long term residents there who had loud music / tv blaring until 5am . Was hard to sleep
Beautiful house.
What an amazing stay! Beautiful home and property! I love the decor and charm, I felt like royalty in the big room upstairs. I was greeted by the incredible Eileen who offered me tea and biscuits, it was a proper Irish welcome :) I felt right at home and I did not want to leave :'( I will definitely come back!
I wish I could have extended my trip :)
I loved the magic of the old house
I didn’t realise it was a make your own breakfast kind of almost Air B&B arrangement.
Comfortable bed. Friendly hosts.
Facilities basic. Shower didn't drain.
Friendly staff, decent facilities, place had character.
A bit isolated if you don't have a car.
Quiet Location, beautiful view from my room, comfy bed, friendly host, fully equipped kitchen for use.
Nothing.

Everything good !!
The breakfast was delicious. It was great to be able to access the kitchen when we wanted. The location was blessed with beautiful scenery.
There wasn't anything that I didn't like. Everything about my stay was fantastic. The hosting was brilliant too.

Thanks Mary, see you next time.
Lovely cosy place to stay. The owner was very friendly and helpful. There is no breakfast provided however there are tea/ coffee facilities and some basics are provided also.
En suite room
THE WELCOMING IS FRIENDY AND RESPECTFUL. THE HOUSE IS COSY AND PERFECT TO RELAX AND DETOX. THE BEST SILENCE EVER. SUPER CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE. I TOTALLY RECOMMEND IT.
The hosts were so lovely and kind, and kept in touch with me as well as waiting up to let me in when my flight was delayed. The breakfast wasn't made for you, but the fridge was stocked with sausages and bacon and eggs and bread and milk and everything you could want to make a snack or meal. I saved money by staying here and renting a car rather than staying in downtown Dundalk where my work was. The bathroom is shared but there are multiple ones so you never wait, and both are kept very clean. There's lots of hot water. I especially enjoyed building a fire and playing piano one blustery afternoon.
Great value for money. Excellent staff keep. Everything needed was provided 😊
Mary was very helpful, she rang me ahead of my arrival and arranged to have the keys set out for me before I arrived as I was in a rush.
Clean. Good shower. Ned comfortable. Quiet.
Bedroom pretty basic. Not en suite. Breakfast was "make your own" kitchen facilities were a bit tired.
I liked the obvious history of the house. It would be perfect for a large family group. Lots of space but with shared facilities. Great communication with the host throughout.
Having to leave
I live down the country , the viewing was amazing. Absolute bliss. I’d recommend to any body whose looking to stay to go here 🙂🙂🙂
Breakfast consisted of a choice of Cornflakes or Wheatbix.
Never met the host. Shared bathroom.
The lovely hostess treated us so beautifully and made our stay absolutely wonderful. The other guests were friendly and charming and the house and grounds beautiful. One of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in!
