We loved the cute farm location just a walk from Barrydale's main road with restaurants and shops! It was a cold night and the owner provided lovely electric blankets.

We had a wonderful stay. Bertus went out of his way to ensure we enjoy our stay and were comfortable.

It is nice and quite. Their is no trouble at all everyone is friendly who stays their even the staff. You have an wonderful view of moantains and cultivated lands it is really beautifull

Rustic and peaceful

Beautifully situated, the cottage was cozy, and fully equipped with everything we needed. The peaceful surroundings and stunning mountain views were exactly the reset we needed. We will back with our family!

We liked everything!

The stay has the feel like you’re on a farm in the countryside, which you are, but with the convenience of being in a quaint village with all the amenities and dining venues just minutes drive away. The units are well-equipped for an overnight or longer stay. The hosts are terrific — very accommodating and kindly gave us the use of a second unit which wasn’t occupied.

The property is very clean and the scenery is so good.

Convenient and peaceful setting, on a working farm, but walking distance or a short drive from town. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Well equipped for a self-catering break.

Idyllic comfort, serenity and hospitality! Ansie cottage offered all we needed. Ideal location, beautiful environment. Scrumptious food at Blue Cow coffee shop. One night was not enough. It's the perfect place to unwind for a few days and feed your soul.

Beautiful place and surrounding area. The rooms were just lovely. The owner had the hot tub heated for our arrival and we enjoyed it. Just loved the serenity there.

The room was spacious enough, with most things needed in the kitchen & bathroom. Gorgeous, friendly cat welcomed us.

I specifically booked accommodation with a washing machine, as we were halfway through a 2 week road trip. To my annoyance, no washing machine in sight, which messed up planning for clothes.

Impractical layout. No hanging or packing space for clothing. Fireplace stink. Definitely not boutique. Rather rustic farm stay. Hot tub shared by all other guests. No firewood as promised. Awkward accommodation, ok for sleepover but not a self catering holiday destination.

Loved the location, safe and felt very comfortable. The outdoor jacuzzi / hot tub was not clean but did not impact our stay. Will certainly stay again.

We loved the fact that Bertus was there to meet us when we arrived and took the time to show us around his farm. The accommodation was perfect for our one night stay, and breakfast at the Blue Cow Coffee shop was delicious.

The room was at the gate, we had an indoor and outdoor braai... The hot tub was easily accessible

We booked a couple of nights after having been here 2 years ago. We like the relaxed atmosphere and wanted to explore Barrydale a bit more. Our host Bertus was very helpful and attended to all our needs and questions.

This is charming, rustic accommodation set on a working farm with a beautiful garden. The host and staff were welcoming, friendly and hospitable and we loved the attention we got from the dogs and cat. The hot tub was relaxing on a cold, star-lit evening and I loved seeing the baby swallows warming up on the rooves in the morning sunshine with their parents. The Blue Cow barn by the Waterfront serves their speciality Chicken Cheesecake which I can heartily recommend.

The mozzies.... but this has nothing to do with the hosts or accommodation. Take insect repellant.

I had a peaceful and comfortable stay on this beautiful farm. A real home away from home. The accomodation was spotless clean, friendly staff and a great host. The coffee shop is a massive bonus!

We had a real farmstyle stay literally 500m from the main town.. Everything was clean and neat. There was milk in the fridge. Very safe parking.Thanks Bertus for a wonderful stay!!

The Blue Cow restaurant was excellent! I can highly recommend their breakfast, as well as their cheesecake and apple crumble. Their milkshakes were to die for!!!

I wish I could have stayed longer!

We communicated briefly by WhatsApp - did not meet anyone on the property during our stay. Due to this, it was not explained that we had booked both rooms in the cottage. We required two beds which we found in one cottage, the other cottage only had 1 double bed so naturally we rejected it. In fact we could have had a bedroom each. In the event, we had comfortable beds and an en suite bathroom which was what we needed. However, some human contact would be a bit friendlier! And avoid confusion.

Een heerlijk rustige locatie met meerdere kleine huisjes die zijn verdeeld in enkele verblijven. Keurig en eenvoudig.

Geen airco. Ontbijt locatie is 1 km verderop. Wel prima ontbijt.

Prachtig ingericht huisje met authentieke materialen. Heel comfortabel met alle voorzieningen en goed werkende douche. Mooie grote tuin, zonnig terras. Veilige parking.

The TV was useless. No sound. But not important.

The setting was beautiful, shady and quiet. As it happens we were met in a charming way by Bertus but this is a busy working farm so don’t worry if you need to self check in. The hot tub was such great fun and I enjoyed it when it was also cool and refreshing

We liked everything! Comfortable beds, great showers. We were in transit and only spent one night but regretted that we couldn't stay for longer - we hope to be back for a much longer stay.

Celebrating our anniversary at Blue Cow Barn was the perfect, peaceful escape. We enjoyed a late-night braai, stargazing, and the tranquility of the surroundings. As animal lovers, this place felt like home. We were greeted by the sweetest dogs and the most cuddly cat. We even spent some time birdwatching from the porch and spotted an owl! You can truly feel the love in this home. Barrydale was a charming spot for a one-night getaway. Highly recommend this cozy retreat

We verbleven in huisje "Betsie", een mooi gerieflijk en schoon huis. Er zijn meerdere huisjes in een mooie tuin.

We werden niet erg gastvrij ontvangen. En ook tijdens ons verblijf was de stemming niet erg vriendelijk.

The location was beautiful. Ansie is a wonderful spacious cottage with picturesque views on the stoep and in the back garden. The cottage was warm and cosy with everything you need. The staff were very friendly and the animals on the property gave me such a lovely welcome.

There was nothing I didn't like.

A beautiful rustic farm home set in a quiet, remote area with stunning mountain views. It’s simple and basic, but very comfortable and perfectly suited for a night or two. An ideal base when staying in Barrydale to explore the town and surrounding scenery. Peaceful, relaxing, and full of charm.

the rooms are excellently decorated and very clean. fresh towels were provided each morning and the grounds are beautiful. the braais are nearby and the complimentary wood is appreciated.

Lovely position in the village with nice gardens.

Owner was handling a local fire crisis but was very rude to us and even in crisis times courtesy to guests should still be paramount. Our friend was not able to join us due to urgent medical attention needed but no consideration given for that unlike other places on our journey. We had written as soon as we knew which was a few days before to advise. They also never told us about the lovely little festival and marketplace going on and we only found out from a lovely local diner called Mud.

Lovely setting, very pleasant, clean and friendly accommodation. The restaurant was stunning with good coffee, and cakes, we had takeouts as we were travelling quite a distance, it would have been good to have sat and had breakfast there. Very clean and tidy restaurant with a good menu. Recommended.

Everything was good. Tea & coffee and fresh milk in the fridge is always a great touch. The peacefulness of the farm was great and the owner gave us the family history which was very interesting.

There’s no air conditioning only a fan. But this wasn’t a problem for us.

The hot pool is amazing! The houses are furnished really good. Very nice owner who gave as information about hotel and story behind. The communication was very fast and smooth.

We were only on a short overnight stay, so was very comfortable
