Great home cooked breakfast was served in a cozy room overlooking a beautiful, expansive yard. The setting was very quiet and there was a good pub just a block away. The room (twin) was comfy and the shower was fantastic. The hosts were extremely friendly and shared do much about the area!

The location is so beautiful right beside the canal with barges sleepily moored. At the back there is a walled garden to die for and the house is quirky and clean. Lots of choice for breakfast.

The location was great, a short trip to Clonmacnoise, Birr Castle, or Leap Castle. Boats moored in front of the house and a beautiful garden to the rear. Huge thanks to our host for a friendly welcome and trip advice

La maison est historique, pleine de charme, et le port est superbe. Notre hôte était très accueillant et plein de conseils.

La chambre familiale est un peu petite pour trois personnes, et ne parlons pas de la salle de bains un peu étriquée. ça aurait été très bien à deux

The Harbour Masters house is a beautiful house situated on the banks of the canal, with a splendid display of flowers at the front & a fab walled garden at the rear. Our room had a very comfortable bed with a compact ensuite. Toiletries were provided. We had access to a lovely balcony overlooking the garden. We enjoyed a very peaceful night's sleep & breakfast was served downstairs., freshly cooked & delicious . Really enjoyed our stay.

The house is beautiful but has many levels so not suitable for anyone with disabilities.

Vriendelijke, behulpzame gastheer. Het pand is gelegen aan het Grand Canal waarlangs je fijn kan wandelen. Het ontbijt was in orde. Mooie keuze aan vers fruit.

Het tweepersoonsbed was echt wel aan de krappe kant en te zacht, waardoor het geen comfortabele slaapervaring werd. De kamer was ook vrij klein (het was niet mogelijk om onze 2 koffers uit te klappen).

Tremendously helpful for I was competing in the Tullamore show. They stored leeks overnight in a cool shed that kept them perfect. Helping them to win an All Ireland at the show. It was wonderfully quiet and peaceful, lovely comfy room and special homemade breakfast, as I had to leave early. Beautiful walled garden. Thank you very much. I will be back next year.

Lage sehr schön am Shannon gelegen, Pub um die Ecke, Parkplatz vorhanden. Einfach perfekt.

The owner was incredibly friendly and we had a sittingroom with our bedroom that was really comfortable. Breakfast was lovely and the location is very quiet. The perfect place to calm down.

Wonderful house full of character, beautiful walled garden. Great hosts, Darren & Niamh, so hospitable , fabulous breakfast , great variety. Brilliant location for tranquil walks or cycles on the canal. Hope to return again.

Location and the insider garden

Bien placé entre Dublin et le Connemara dans un joli cadre au bord du canal. L'accueil est chaleureux. Le petit déjeuner irlandais de belle qualité a été préparé par l'hôte avec beaucoup de soin. C'était délicieux. Nous avons été ravis de passer notre 1ère nuit en Irlande dans ce B&B. Nous recommandons.

The Harbour Master's House is beautifully set on the canals. We took a nice walk along the canal at sunset after dinner. The house is a treat to stay at and the garden out back is wonderful. Breakfast was a nice, large Irish breakfast,

We loved our stay in this beautiful home it has so much character. The house and beds were clean and comfortable. Darren was a great host and made us so welcome and carried our 4 heavy suitcases in. We wished we could have stayed longer.

Lovely old, worldly feeling B&B. Beautiful gardens to relax in. Darren was so lovely on arrival, providing us with a pot of tea. Gave us lots of recommendations. We really enjoyed our stay.

Bedroom very small

Das Bed & Breakfast liegt direkt am Kanal und bietet einen schönen Blick auf die ankernden Schiffe. Ein Parkplatz befindet sich direkt vor dem Haus, was sehr praktisch ist. Der Gastgeber hat sich bereits vor der Anreise gemeldet und war während des gesamten Aufenthalts sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Frühstück war gut und bot alles, was man für einen gelungenen Start in den Tag braucht. Das Zimmer war allerdings recht klein und insgesamt nichts Besonderes. Etwas ungewöhnlich fand ich, dass die Dusche direkt im Zimmer stand, während sich im separaten Badezimmer lediglich die Toilette und das Waschbecken befanden. Das Hsus ist hellhörig, mehrfach kamen nachts Personen aus dem Pub und wir waren jedesmal wach. Da das Haus mehrfach erweitert wurde, gibt es auf dem Weg zum Frühstücksraum einige Treppenstufen. Hinter dem Haus befinden sich zunächst eine kleine Terrasse und anschließend ein Garten, den wir allerdings nicht genutzt haben. Insgesamt ein freundliches Bed & Breakfast in schöner Lage am Kanal mit gutem Frühstück und nettem Gastgeber. Das Zimmerkonzept war für meinen Geschmack jedoch etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig. Für den Preis haben wir in den 12 Tagen Irland besser gewohnt.

We travelled as a group for work and loved the Harbour Master's House. Comfortable, cosy, welcoming with delicious breakfasts and fabulous hosts - we will definitely be back!

Ein ganz wunderbares Ferienzimmer. Sehr freundlicher Service, ein toller Garten und die phantastische Lage haben den Aufenthalt sehr angenehm gemacht. Auch das Frühstück war sehr lecker.

Great location beside the canal lovely are for walks and right beside local bar Darren and Niamh welcomed us to there house and it was lovely such character and beautiful garden to rear which was so nice breakfast was fabulous from array of fruit salads etc. cereals different breads homemade scones and lovely jams and the lovely fry top notch in the sun room setting looking on to the garden ❤️

The house is very lovely, the back garden is a lovely little haven of colour peace & tranquility. The host was very happy to ensure our stay was as comfortable as possible and offered plenty of assistance and advice local activities. The breakfast was first class. Lovely walk along the river. Great food across the bridge in the local pub. Everybody was super friendly.

Darren, the owner, was very friendly and great to talk to. We especially liked the wood burner in the living room, which was really comforting after a day walking through wet grass. The location is very quiet at night. The local pubs are also very friendly and welcoming.

Great location, right next to the Grand Canal and with a lovely walk available down to the Shannon River. This is a 'no frills' B&B run by a very helpful young couple - off the beaten tourist track. We could charge our EV overnight for reasonable rates, which was a huge plus. Good local pub serving food.

The room was small and could have done with more hooks for hanging things.

Loved the location at Shannon Harbour. The property is an interesting building and the hosts obviously appreciate the history and unique character. There's a great pub close by for food and lovely walks along the canal.

On a lovely scenic location overlooking the canal, the Harbour Master's House is imposing and impressive. Our host Darren could not have been more helpful, friendly and welcoming! Imposing 18th C house overlooking Grand Canal, few km outside Banagher. Quiet and pleasant place to stop for a night, interesting walk along canal in morning. Host was welcoming and check in smooth. Room was warm, comfortable and breakfast excellent. looking out onto well maintained garden.

Everything was very satisfactory.

Darren was a lovely host and made us feel at home from the start. Fine breakfast served both mornings. Beds were very comfortable. Good location with lively pub serving food close by. We enjoyed spending time in the cosy common area on our first evening, chatting and playing cards by the woodburner. Very relaxing stay and would readily recommend.

Schöne Lage, sehr urig, so stellt man sich ein B&B in Irland vor. Hervorragendes Frühstück und sehrt nette Gastgeber. Traditionelle irische Kneipe in 2 Minutes zu Fuß zu erreichen.

Die Zimmer sind schon klein und das Bad winzig. Aber das hat alles einen Charm.
