Nice pub, good atmosphere!

Clean hospitable friendly.

We stayed one night due to proximity to the Bet365 stadium and had the most wonderful evening with the locals and staff ahead of the evenings football. Would absolutely recommend!

Lovely rooms and spotlessly clean. Well kitted out kitchen again spotless.

It was fantastic to have such a clean and well organised kitchen. The bedding was lovely - Egyptian cotton, no synthetic materials. The Elvis impersonator at the bar was great fun. Easy access to Lidl and Sainsbury’s on foot.

We didn’t get the room we had booked. It was a bit noisy at night and people were smoking under our window.

Accomodation is rooms over a busy proper pub with a very loyal local clientele. This was a really fun stay, with the host, Kate, being lovely and the pub regulars were super friendly. The ensuite bathroom was spacious and the shared kitchen worked well. It was great to be able to do my washing!!! This is a fantastic option for people taking a flexible road trip around UK. It’s a proper English pub and the regulars are friendly and chatty (and some work at the potteries that Stoke is famous for, an added bonus.) Very close to supermarkets and the potteries. This is the best and most fun I have had at a budget stay. Accomodation was extremely clean and very secure.

At first I was concerned about the noise from the pub as they had live music when I got there, but it quietened before 9.

The room was nicely decorated (seems quite recent) and furnished in a style that suits the early 1900s building. Comfy bed, good shower. Fan was a good addition in the hot weather. Wardrobe with drawers, so plenty of storage space for a longer stay. The pub downstairs is a traditional no frills Stoke pub, mainly for locals, but welcoming to visitors. Having access to a kitchen was very handy - it's clean and well-equipped. Local shop/supermarket near by. There's no breakfast provided, but the Staffordshire Oat Cakes shop across the road is highly recommended (by me and by local friends) and opens at 7am!

Although the location was fairly central, it was in an area that wasn't so great.

I loved the clean kitchen with fridge, cutlery and even a washing machine! My room was big and very clean. The bathroom was fantastic. The way of entering codes for door entry was well planned.

I've stayed here twice now, in two different rooms. Both rooms were exceptionally clean. Staff are very helpful and friendly. The private kitchen is very well equipment. On Sunday afternoons the bar downstairs had live music, which was really good. Looking forward to next time 🎉

The room and bathroom were immaculate, well appointed and even had fans in the rooms which helped during the heatwave taking place. The bed was very comfortable with plenty of pillows allowing for a very good sleep. The shower had excellent water pressure for hot and cold water. The fact you have independent access to come and go made it ideal as I was attending a graduation party so not having a fixed time to return was excellent.

It would have been quite nice to have a late check out til 12 but that's a very minor thing for an excellent stay.

The rooms upstairs and communal kitchen were fabulous and so clean and well equipped. The pub downstairs is a real locals pub but we felt welcome and they had a great range of music playing. Really good value for money.

No milk in the room, just the UHT stuff would’ve done. I had to nip to the kitchen at 6.30 with my pjs on.

The area is a little depressed- I had to walk a long way on a Wednesday evening to find a restaurant that was open (I was avoiding takeaways and pubs advertising live football on TV)

I have stayed before and will stay again as it is perfect for my requirements

Our room was outstanding, bed extremely comfortable…. Everything was spotless and love the fact there was a separate kitchen with full use of everything, from washing machine and tumbler dryer to fridge and iron. The pub downstairs provided great entertainment with karaoke on our second nite. Plus right outside there’s plenty of places to get something to eat

This is a real gem. The pub is lovely and welcoming and the landlady is very friendly. The room was very freshly decorated in very good style and was spotless. Bed was very comfy I slept great.

There is no onsite parking because its a traditional pub in a city. No problem finding street parking but be aware.

This was an unexpected gem! Owners have gone to great lengths to make a super cute and comfortable room with great facilities. Shared kitchen had washer and dryer along with basic kitchen facilities. This is the bar for comfortable well appointed accommodation. Highly recommended!

Kitchen smelt of sick and bathroom smelt of mould. Pub on a saturday (to be fair) was playing loud music until 11pm, I had an interview the next day so not ideal.

Bar has music sometimes, so a bit of noise permeates the rooms.

Well presented bedroom and en suite. Impeccably clean, no street noise and very spacious. We stayed overnight on our trip to Alton Towers, so perfect location for that stay.

We personally didn’t find the bed to be the most comfortable but we’ve put that down the personal taste. The mattress, bedding and pillows were all good quality

Friday night was karaoke night down stairs. It was extremely loud as if the bar was in our room.

Noise ftom road, room could do with air conditioning, had to have window open all night, and the smell from local takeaways was disgusting...the road outside us extremely busy all night.

The staff were lovely the room was very clean and very good.

The location was terrible for us. The Booking.com had said it was 400 yards from the city of Stoke. It was not it was 2 1/2 miles from the city of Stoke. We were in completely the wrong location. Whilst the room was clean, and lovely staff I had a very bad night sleep because the pillows were feather pillows and quite old and lumpy and I’m allergic to feathers. With no other options It was a very hot day but there was no outside to the pub to sit in the sun. Disappointing. Booking.com, this was very misleading on your description and ruined our weekend

Spotless throughout, no issues at all there.

Erm, if anything, struggled a little to park but we knew that before we arrived anyway, only a min walk away, not an issue.

A later check out would be better 10am is a lbit early. And parking unfortunately is a bit sketchy being in a residential area but not much the property can do about that. Park up early would be my advice

It was clean and convenient for what we wanted.

I rang a week before and asked if we could have an early check in. 11am. The lady on the phones said she can’t see it being a problem but she will double check and call me back. She either didn’t or I missed the call. I then rang the day before and spoke to a male. He said he will double check with his boss so I rang back and he said there was no problem and to book using bookin.com. I did this and wrote in the notes that we would see them at 11 and thanked them for accommodating us. The next morning as we were nearly there I saw a message that we couldn’t book in till 1. Had a couple of messages back and to. We then tried to go to the room at 1:30 to be told it wasn’t ready. We got in at 3… we would have found somewhere else as we had been travelling for hours and needed that early check in. Also couldn’t sleep as there was very loud music on. The music was very good so we gave up and went into the pub downstairs. The pub and rooms were lovely it was just the whole point of what we needed wasn’t met.

The establishment, staff, the room, the decor, how clean it was. The style and love the little ducks! Would definitely come back. Cannot fault anything at all.

No parking outside both side streets full with cars , I had a friend with a disability of being visibly impaired. Booked at 6pm and paid in full to ask to cancel 40mins later due to no access in wasn’t suitable. Not enough information stated of high level of parked cars . Never replied until next day even though message was seen said not enough time given and wouldn’t refund AVOID!!

More Area - didn't feel safe in this area Upon arrival no check in, bar maid whilst serving eventually dealing with me, didnt show me where the communal kitchen was just said its round the corner, she tried to turn the room radiators on without success. there was no check out so had to discover how to get out of the pub on my own. nobody on site to discuss my issues the following day Expensive for what it actually provided - I wish I had stayed at another well known hotel which was cheaper and better facilities but I stayed at this place as it would have saved me time for my meeting but I had a terrible experience upon reflection I should have stayed there and got a taxi to where I needed to go. I emailed my issues but got back no apologise but excuses Communal areas Atmosphere of the pub\hotel no food served at Pub although menu of local restaurants provide which was overpriced and one other pizza takeaway place Noise levels - loud music in pub of local residents drinking since lunch time (told this by the bar maid) and people arguing in the court yard above the bedroom I was sleeping in Layout of the bedroom was good although radiator valve difficult to use so room and bathroom was cold I would never recommend this accommodation I emailed them of my experience and received excuses, I would have been happy to get return of some money matching where I would have stayed

The fact that after 10.30 pm i was told that there would be nobiody for check-in: my train was late and I couldnt help. That caused me stress.

Great location, good facilities and really lovely. I really liked the pub downstairs too. It was lovely and friendly. Pub was quiet when we were upstairs too.

Easily one of the nicest small places I've stayed in. Well appointed, extra clean and very comfortable. Clearly, a lot of time and effort has been put into this place to achieve that. Thanks to the very friendly staff for a great but all too short a visit.

The pub was lovely with a good atmosphere and an excellent smoking area.The room was luxurious with excellent carpet and a very comfy bed and good quality pillows and linen . The bathroom was large and very clean and i had lots of towels which is important to me . The security was excellent too .

We came to Stoke to see a show, so wasn't really bothered about the accommodation, but it was fine, did what it said,on the tin.

The noise from the pub sometimes can be the only thing that’s tricky, but you’re staying above a pub… so you’re not surprised by it!

Despite the fact that it's right above the pub, it is very quiet at night, the bed is super comfortable and Kate is lovely and very welcoming. I enjoyed my stay, thank you.

This was a return visit and we were just as impressed. Great rooms, lovely pub and friendly staff. The bed was amazingly comfy and shower great. The communal kitchenette is really handy and you can eat your food or a takeaway in the pub. A major bonus is it’s just across the road from London Road oatcakes. It’s also within walking distance of superb currys and other great pubs including the Glebe.

Stanza grande, pulita e confortevole situata sopra il bellissimo pub frequentato da gente simpatica e cordiale dove si può bere dell'ottima birra. Host Kate è stata sempre molto gentile e disponibile fin da prima della partenza che durante il soggiorno. Un ringraziamento particolare per la pazienza. Se dovessi tornare a Stoke alloggerei sicuramente nuovamente qui anche per il rapporto prezzo qualità eccezionale

The room was clean, however the bed was uncomfortable and it was difficult to sleep well, also guests using the kitchen very late and being next to a road meant our sleep was disturbed, which is no fault of the owners. The bathroom sink wouldn’t drain properly, so we had to use the shower in the end, there were no staff there to speak to as it was at night time. Also the booking said it included a continental breakfast, but I received a message from the owners, stating breakfast wasn’t included but it was too late to cancel, so this needs to be much clearer during the booking process. All in all it was an ok stay, the place was clean and staff member was friendly, tea/coffee and biscuits were also provided and enjoyed. There was also a kitchen for guests to use freely.

Excellent shower.

We were surprised with this accommodation. Externally, it looked rough and in a somewhat depressed looking area, but inside it was really comfortable, spacious, clean and well presented. Bathroom was a bit on the small size, but the shower was roomy and good. Our host appeared a bit eccentric, but he was welcoming, helpful and fun. Re location, it is not far from the Spode ceramics museum. I would recommend this for the value for money and the presentation and comfort of the room

The only criticism is the glass shelf above the bathroom basin. It presents a risk (to one's forehead) which could be averted by shifting if 40cm to the side
