Reviewed Sep 13, 2026The host was very nice and had lots of helpful tips and recommendations for restaurants and things to do. The B&B is located quite a bit outside of Killarney at the edge of the mountains in beautiful Gap of Dunloe. The area is very rural and a car is definitely necessary. It is a good starting point to drive the Ring of Kerry and to visit Gap of Dunloe. The breakfast selection was very good and included home made pancakes.
The room and the bathroom were a bit small for 3 people (2 adults and a teenager).

Reviewed Aug 31, 2026Unser Zimmer war sehr gemütlich, das Frühstück lecker und auch die Gastgeber sehr nett. Von hier aus konnten wir sehr gut alles erreichen: muckross house mit dem Nationalpark, die Stadt, Wanderwege oder den pub. Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen.

L'habitació de 3 queda una mica justa per estar realment còmodes 3 persones. El bany té una dutxa d'aquestes que mulla el terra, just davant de la pica del lavabo, poc pràctic.

Reviewed Aug 24, 2026La chambre était spacieuse et le lit confortable. La salle de bain agréable (j’avais peur qu’elle soit inondée vu qu’il n’y avait pas de bac mais pas du tout, elle était super). Il y avait tous les équipements que l’on peut attendre d’une location (même le porte valise!). Petit déjeuner continental copieux avec des fruits frais. Belle vue. Bonne situation au pied du gap of dunloe et pas loin de killarney. Je recommande à 100%! Pousser jusqu’à Killarney pour manger ou boire un coup car le pub à côté de la location n’est pas top.

Plentiful and varied breakfast, with delicious fresh fruit salad. Many suggestions for walks, activities, places to eat etc in the booklet provided in our room. Very quiet, even though there were plenty of guests.
Very little! Only one walk description was out of date.

Reviewed Aug 13, 2026Alles was helemaal super! De rustige vriendelijke eigenaar die een lekker ontbijt serveerde met verse yoghurt, vers fruit en een pannenkoekje. De kamer met een moderne badkamer. Douche met een goede straal. Een fijne tuin waar je kan genieten van het zicht op de bergen. Wij hadden het geluk dat er nog een hertje voorbij liep. Ik zou zeggen een B&B met een hotelervaring.

Reviewed Jul 14, 2026Die Lage war außergewöhnlich, direkt am Nationalpark Gap of Dunloe. Von dort konnte man tolle Wanderungen unternehmen. Das B&B war absolut zauberhaft, toll eingerichtet mit sehr viel Liebe zum Detail und John, der Inhaber hat wirklich viele tolle Ideen für Ausflüge gehabt. Das Frühstück war ausgezeichnet, von Eiern über Pancake bis zu frischen Obstsalat ließ John keine Wünsche offen. Die Betten waren unglaublich bequem. Wir waren rundum zufrieden und können dieses B&B uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen. Vielen Dank für diesen tollen Aufenthalt. Die Bilder bei booking.com sind sehr realistisch.

Het ontbijt war erg karig. Alleen zoet en honing op brood. Er lagen een paar babybels of roomkaasjes. Je had keuze uit een croissantje, wit pain en soms nog 1 andere. Helaas geen kaas, vlees of ei.

De eigenaar was een uitgebluste man, die alleen het minimale deed. Het ontbijt werd ook geserveerd zonder enige vorm van enthousiasme en was minimaal. We voelden ons niet echt welkom en gezien.

Das Frühstück ist sehr einfach. Das Wasser in der Dusche läuft nicht ab. Man muss aufpassen, dass das Wasser nicht ins Zimmer läuft. Eine Garderobe für die Regenkleidung fehlt. Ein Licht über dem Badezimmerspiegel wäre super.

Reviewed May 13, 2026It was such a cute B&B set in the most beautiful scenery. There was a horse in the field behind the property, and waking up to views of the mountains and the horse in the morning was so peaceful. The location was perfect too within walking distance to the start of the Gap of Dunloe walk, and also to the famous Kate Kearney’s Cottage for a pint of Guinness afterwards. John was so nice and incredibly helpful throughout our stay. It was honestly the best place we stayed in Ireland.

Reviewed May 12, 2026Super Lage mitten im Nationalpark. Zu Fuss ist man in 10 Minuten am Gap of Dunloe und in 15 Minuten mit dem Auto in Killarney und den weiteren Sehenswürdigkeiten. Zudem sehr schönes und sauberes Zimmer. Das Bett war super bequem.
Das Frühstück hatten wir besser erwartet. Es war okay, aber außer Toast und abgepackte Sachen zum Belegen gab es nicht viel (Getränke natürlich noch) - aber für den Preis hatten wir mehr erwartet. Es war trotzdem ein toller Aufenthalt!

John had a brilliant variety for continental breakfast even offering pancakes! Would highly recommend only 18 mins out of the buzzing Kilarney.

Damp room. Nowhere to dry wet towels. Small room for 3 people. Milk off when making coffee in room. Breakfast awful. Supposed to be continental but there was no meats on offer. No toast. Cereal stale and not refreshed next day.

Reviewed Sep 4, 2025Nothing. Never got a chance to stay there. I booked first thing in the morning for that evening. We arrived at 9:00 only to find out that they canceled our ion due to no more rooms available. We were traveling and didn’t see an email that they sent at 2:00 indicating no room - 6 hours after booking and receiving confirmation. The least they could have done is call us when they figured out that they didn’t have a room so that we could find something else. Rather than us scrambling at 9:00 at night trying to find something!

Reviewed Aug 27, 2025El dueño fue muy amable en todo momento. El desayuno fue espectacular: fruta fresca, yogur, croissant recién hechos, incluso tortitas!! Las camas eran muy cómodas y estaba todo muy cuidado al detalle.
La ducha era un poco pequeña y si no llevabas cuidado se mojaba un poco todo pero nada demasiado incómodo.

Reviewed Aug 10, 2025Tolle und ruhige Lage. Sehr freundlich und aufgeschlossen. Liebevolle Zimmer, Haus und Garten. Man kann vom Haus weg in ein uriges Pup/Restaurant mit Livemusik am Abend gehen, Kate Kearneys. Umliegende Kaffees haben nur bis um 16.00 offen. Man kann in der Gegend sehr viel tolles erleben: Dunloe Gletschertal, Kerry Cliffs, höchsten Berg Carrantuohill, der im Gegensatz zu einigen Beschreibungen gut zu bewältigen ist, viele schöne Sand und Kiesstrände....
Eigentlich nichts. Falls jemand typisches Irish breakfast erwartet, dies gibt es hier nicht, dafür aber frischen Obstsalat und genug anderes.
