The BnB is located near Shizhuo about half-way up the mountain from Chiayi to Alishan. It was straightfoward to get the Fengqihu and to the National Park. The hostess and her husband are super hospitable and friendly. The room was spacious and was more than enough for our family of 5. We were surrounded by mountains, and there was a tea-plantation nearby. We took short walks around to soak it all in. The breakfast was also amazing. There are restaurants in Shizhuo and beyond, but you'd have to drive there. Having 4 dogs on the premise was a bonus! (our daughter really missed our dog back home so this was a treat for her).

Just a few minor things: 1) it is somewhat isolated (which is what we wanted), and you'd really need your own vehicle to get around. 2) we arrived by rental car, and Google maps got us around there fine, but there was no sign for the BnB so we weren't sure if we were at the right place. Fortunately the hostess came out and greeted us. 3) The BnB is cash only - I didn't realize until the owner told us...I double-checked the reservation and it was stated there. I had just missed it. We got cash from the 7-11 ATM in Shizhuo so it wasn't really a problem.

The location is perfect and the view is amazing. Places to eat are 2 km away, which was great because I wanted to walk around this beautiful area. The dogs here are also incredibly cute, and one of them even guided me around. The host was very nice—she picked me up from the bus station, offered to drive me to places, and her food was excellent. It is simply an amazing place, and I didn't want to leave.

The owners are very kind and welcoming. The breakfast was great. The location was great for visiting Alishan and exploring the tea trails of Shizhou and the surrounding area (by car). Good water pressure and hot water in the bathroom. Nice to fall asleep listening to the rain and breathing the fresh mountain air.

Driveway is very steep and the road leading to the house is very tight. It can be easy to miss, but the owners have safety cones with lights set up, which was extremely helpful. We were able to manage okay.

宿の人たちが優しくてすごく親切で最高でした。家族的なもてなしで、手作りの朝ごはんも美味しかったです。部屋からバルコニーに出ることができ、景色も良くて素晴らしかったです。近くにトレッキング道があって楽しめるし、茶畑の風景も家族でリフレッシュ出来て良かったです。宿にはクロ、シロ、クマ、マルなどと日本的な名前のわんちゃんたちがいて、人懐こく出迎えてくれました。犬好きの方には特におすすめです。また近くにおしゃれなカフェがあり、阿里山のコーヒーやお茶やケーキを楽しめて、大満足でした。

Quiet location in the mountains with a nice balcony view. Homestay hosts were very nice and accommodating, made us a home cooked breakfast in the morning. They have some adopted dogs that are quite friendly to guests! There's a nice specialty coffee shop nearby as well.

A very friendly homelike stay. The host was very accommodating with picking us up and dropping us off at the nearby town. The location was beautiful, with a reasonably easy transit to Alishan forest. The view from the balcony was amazing and it just felt really homely and nice. The bedroom was nice. Good breakfast provided too, would definetly recomend to others!

老闆夫婦非常好客，熱情招呼品茗，環境非常清幽，充分享受芬多精的洗禮，值得再遊。

C'était génial, plus une chambre d'hôte qu'un hotel, le couple de propriétaires ultra sympathique, on se sentait un peu en famille, le thé offert sur la terrasse en arrivant, les discussions le soir (ma fille parle chinois, c'était pratique), l'environnement avec toutes les possibilités de ballade, la vue sur la montagne de la terrasse, le calme, le petit-déjeuner local, les plantations de thé, les odeurs de plantes le long de la route, les fleurs .... on a envie de revenir. Même sans voiture, c'est assez facile de se déplacer à pied autour de la maison ou avec les bus pour aller jusqu'à Alishan, ou aller manger dans les petits restaurants de Shizhuo.

The owners are such amazing and helpful people. It felt very much like home, very cozy. You can always ask for help or being picked up from the center (Shizhou). But walking around the area is also very delightful. I would have stayed much longer if my plans weren’t fixed. I hope to come again! Thank you for BBQ and Birthday Party :)

De enorme gastvrijheid. Fantastisch ontbijt. De hoteleigenaren waren altijd bereid je te helpen met vervoer , met ideeën voor het eten en activiteiten in de buurt. De rust van de omgeving is een genot na de grote steden in Taiwan. . We hadden helaas veel regen maar dat maakte ons verblijf niet minder. Hotel was super schoon, bed was goed en een heerlijke douche. Ons verblijf was een 10+ Kan het iedereen aanraden.

This may only pertain to the quad room but one of the beds is a box spring only and despite the host's valiant attempts to soften it with cushions and quilts, it was still an uncomfortable sleep for one of our party.

Very scenic location. Polite and inspiring lady who is trying to preserve the Tsou aboriginal culture and language in the area. Original and delicious breakfast. Fast WiFi.

A bit hard to get to by car, as the driveway is narrow and very steep.

The 阿里山 tea the host served was nice, she let us pick the plum fruits in the back garden. She is very knowledgeable about the aboriginal history in the area if one is curious to ask.

The bed was a little too soft, the pineapple sandwich was interesting, just not my taste.

Exceptional host, the inn was surrounded by tea plantations and nature. I Loved it! There’s a terrace with Mountain View, the garden around the house was beautiful too. The host also recommended us a very nice driver that took us to Alishan to see the sunrise.

Love this home stay, feels comfortable. Wish we had more days here. Owner Yulin Jie was very kind and hospitable. She offered to picked us up at nearby bus stop and town. Met very nice fellow travellers in the homestay and we hit it off well. Enjoyed our time together, touring Alishan, appreciating tea under the moonlight and had good bonding over breakfast together. Convenient place to go to Fenqihu and Alishan.

Only breakfast was served here. So you need to take your meals at the nearby town or bring along your own.

We had an amazing stay at this B&B. The host was super friendly, we had a delicious Taiwanese breakfast and the view from the terrace was stunning. We received tea upon arrival and could enjoy the tea while sitting on the rooftop terrace.

The breakfast was amazing! The hosts were so kind and lovely. The location was walking distance from several coffee shops.

The house is located in the beautiful surroundings. We enjoyed our glasses of sake on the balcony on the second floor overlooking trees and mountains in the evening. We got up early to take the Alishan Sunrise train. We had a rental car and it took about 30 minutes to the Alishan station. The breakfast was waiting for us when we returned.

The place seemed to be clean, but old and need some TLC. Our room was very small. There was not much room other than a bed. Speaking of bed, there were no fitted/flat sheets nor pillow cases. They had flannel covers. I felt that was strange. (maybe just me...) The house was cold. The bath towels must've been "air-dried", so they were not soft and fluffy like we are used to at other hotels. I think we were expecting a little more familiar comfort because of high rating we saw before booking.

Yuling is an amazing host. She was always willing to assist, she even made me ride several times to take the bus. The room is nice, cozy and comfortable. The hotel has beautiful open spaces.

I was traveling alone and by public transportation. The hotel is not easily accesible if you are not traveling by car, you get to depend on having a ride or a very long walk to get to restaurants, a 7-11 or the bus.

Very nice stay at a cozy family house. The area is very calm and really nice, the breakfast was cooked by the owner and was awesome (actually, the most tasty breakfast was the best one we had in Taiwan :) ). The owner is very lovely and helpful, we came and left by bus (which is about 1 km away) and she offered to pick up/drof-off us at the bus station. Also, there was a cup of hot tea waiting for us on our arrival and we could taste the famous Alishan Oolong tea. Definitely the best place where to stay is visiting Alishan area!

The greeneries, serene and tranquil environment. The friendly host, ample spaces for car and motorcycle parking, clean rooms, It's strolling distance to a great cafe, Zhou Coffee, if you like coffee. It's nearby the center of Alishan tourist destination.

Nothing. Just a note to foreign visitors to Taiwan that it's generally a cash only transaction for most, if not all AirBNBs, no credit card, so be prepared.

Location for us was great as it was in a village and not impacted by very busy and jostling holiday crowds. YuLing gave us a great time, picking us up initially from the bus station and taking us to various places of interest in the village. We enjoyed our talks with YuLing.

This accommodation is an amazing place. There is enough space and the environment is beautiful! The host is very friendly and can speak some English. She is willing to tell you a lot of information about her culture, which was very interesting. We really liked the breakfast and the high mountain oolong tea.

The host replies fast and answers questions. Helped us to get a ride from the bus station and to Alishan Park. She also helped us to buy things because the shop was far away.

They don't provide disposable toothbrush nor toothpaste. The fact the the bus schedule was different on the weekend, and we weren't made aware. It was difficult getting to the bus stop where we were advised we could be picked up from. Also, there was no food or other drink option on the facility. Only coffee and tea. It would have been nice if they offered beverages alcoholic and nonalcoholic, as well as certain types of food for sale. At least the prepackaged noodles or some sandwiches. Anything. This is because the location is in the middle of nowhere and taxi is very expensive.

Beautiful, quiet, peaceful place to relax in the mountains under the open sky. Unique, abundant, and delicious breakfast. Hostess was gracious; our group had a wonderful conversation with her as she shared her perspectives being native to the area. Already looking forward to returning. Highly recommend!

We were so touched by their kindness and hospitality. I miss this home stay so much already! It’s probably best if you have a car to get here and enjoy some of the sights around the area. However, the host was able to arrange us to have a driver in a shared van. She arranged dinners and transportation both evenings! Everyone was so generous and kind. ❤️ The host offered us tea at every chance she got. She shared her Tsou culture and language. Her neighbours all have tea or coffee for sale. Make sure to ask about it! The host also gave us frank advice about the various attractions nearby. I think we would have done better to listen to her. This was the best sleep I got on the trip. That is a very firm bed. No AC, just a fresh breeze. I slept a solid 11 hrs and fully recovered from jet lag. Absolute highlight of our trip to Taiwan. We would go back in a heartbeat.

The location is kind of secluded, however, that is to expect in the middle of the mountain. Thankfully, owners provide free transport to and from the property from the bus stops. The owners were also very nice and considerate. They even helped arrange transportation up Alishan to watch the sunrise. Overall all was great, however do note that certain things are dependent on the owners' flexibility and time. Do enquire beforehand.

One thing was that the owner can be unresponsive, however, as the owner's are quite busy and the fact that the property is mid-mountain, this was not a major issue.
