Reviewed Sep 16, 2026La ubicación es buena, el personal es simpatiquísimo, todo estaba muy limpio. Destacar que ofrecen toallas para actividades fuera de la casa (diferenciadas de las que se utilizan dentro) y también el excelente desayuno, concretamente la variedad de mermeladas, todas buenísimas. Además puedes disponer de la cocina fuera de la hora de desayuno y hay un espacio en el frigorifico para cada habitación, es maravilloso por si no se quiere comer fuera todos los días o para preparar bocadillos.

Reviewed Aug 31, 2026Las vistas desde el comedor me parecen increíbles. Por un lado el mar y por el otro la montaña de Pico, precioso. El espacio del comedor interior y el espacio exterior son dignos de pasar tiempo en ellos, preciosos. Una zona tranquila, cerca del centro. La habitación es amplia y el baño aún más, se agradece la terraza exterior también. El desayuno súper completo y con dedicación, hasta te hacían huevos recién hechos si lo pedías.
Todo estaba perfecto.

Das Haus hat einen gewissen Charme und ist ruhig gelegen mit einem hübschen Garten-/Terrassenbereich, der genau wie das Wohnzimmer (=Frühstücksraum) für alle Gäste zugänglich ist. Die Zimmer haben ein eigenes Badezimmer sowie einen Balkon und es ist alles stimmig und sauber. Das Zentrum vom sehr kleinen Örtchen Madalena ist in ca. 7-10 Minuten zu Fuss zu erreichen. Ich kann diese Unterkunft jedem weiterempfehlen!

Un bon choix de restaurants juste à coté. O Bien accueilli bien reçu Grande chambre et grande sdb, lit grand et confortable , liseuses très fonctionnelles Belle maison, spatieuse, On ne se gene pas avec les autres Petite bibli, balcon, terrasse jardin tout ok. Ptd complet: orange pressé, oeufs a la demande, grand choix de confitures ( raisin, myrtille, ananas, pomme/poire, etc), …. Serviettes de bain à disposition pour extérieur Cuisine et frigo à disposition.

Reviewed Jun 26, 2026Prettige locatie dichtbij het centrum van Madalena maar ook ideaal om het eiland te ontdekken of de restaurants verderop in de buurt te bezoeken. Ook de supermarkt is dichtbij en voor velen op loopafstand. Het ontbijt is goed, met extra mogelijkheid tot een gebakken of roerei. De eigenaar was zelfs zo vriendelijk om voor onze Pico hike de avond van te voren een goed ontbijt/lunch pakket voor ons klaar te leggen voor tijdens de hike. Het ontbijt wordt geserveerd in een gezamenlijke ruimte waar je ook zelf gebruik van kunt maken later op de dag, zo ook het buiten gedeelte. De kamer zelf was ruim, schoon en met uitstekende bedden!

Reviewed May 20, 2026Die Lage direkt hat für uns sehr gut gepasst, da wir direkt an der Unterkunft einen Parkplatz hatten, war die Anfahrt sehr einfache. Ein kurzer Spaziergang und man ist direkt am Meer oder bei den Restaurants. Unser Zimmer war gross und sauber.

Reviewed May 5, 2026Prachtige locatie, waarbij je vanuit de ontbijtzaal aan de ene kant de zee kan zien en aan de andere kant mount Pico. Op loopafstand van de ferry haven. Het ontbijt was erg lekker, met verschillende producten uit de regio en elke dag een gebakken/gekookt/scrambled eitje. Personeel is heel behulpzaam en vriendelijk, zelfs toen we na onze sunrise hike iets na 10 uur terug waren, regelden ze dat we nog wat konden ontbijten.

Die Staffmitarbeiter hingegen nicht gastfreundlich, unerzogen, gelangweilt, abweisend und nicht bereit uns wegen 5 Min. Verspätung ein bezahltes Früstück zu geben, was sehr peinlich ist.

Reviewed Feb 27, 2026L’emplacement est idéal! Belle vue depuis ma chambre (#5 pour vue sur la mer et le coucher de soleil), parking facile, proximité de tous les services et du bord de mer. Le petit-déjeuner est génial. Le jardin est magnifique et toutes les pièces de l’établissement sont propres et spacieuses.
Rien, tout est simple mais amplement suffisant, joli et confortable.

Reviewed Nov 23, 2025Our room was clean, the beds comfortable,l with a lovely balcony, screen on windows so you can have air but no insects. Breakfast was excellent. The communal areas, both indoors and out, were well thought out. You could bask in the sun or sit in a cosy chair to read or sit at tables to play cards with friends. Parking was easy. Short walk to beach or supermarket.
It didn't worry us, but people with lots of luggage.may find the rooms a bit small.

Close to the centre of Madalena. Depending on the room you could see the sea or the pico mountain! Had a big garden. Very nice!

Twee enkele bedden die moeilijk aan elkaar te schuiven waren. Wellicht zijn er wel kamers met 2-persoons bedden, dit hebben we niet gevraagd

Reviewed Sep 6, 2025Die Unterkunft hat alles was man braucht. Die Kommunikation mit der Gastgeberin lief sehr gut. Alle waren sehr freundlich und bemüht. Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber. Gern werde ich wieder hier übernachten.

Reviewed Aug 31, 2025Il punto di forza è sicuramente lo spazio comune: la struttura dispone di un bel giardino, con un portico dove cenare e anche il barbecue, una bella zona colazione, un salotto accogliete e una cucina dotata di qualsiasi utensile, condimenti, acqua potabile gratuita e spazi riservati in frigo e in dispensa per ogni camera! Il tutto arredato con cura e con amore e con una grande attenzione a tutti i dettagli! La camera spaziosa dispone anche di un confortevole balcone.

It is super close to the ocean and it has very comfortable common areas to spend time inside or outside if it is needed. I had even my personal kitty there 🫶 Big bonus - tasty breakfast with a lot of local food.

Reviewed Aug 13, 2025We had a great stay in Calma do Mar. Accomodation has a really good location, great for Pico hike, close to big supermarket and Madalena port. Room was spaceus and really clean. Kitchen is really well equiped. Breakfast has a big variety of local products. We even got a pre-packed breakfast for our early morning Pico hike. Host is super nice, communication was really easy, self-check in process was super smooth. Free parking available on site, great common areas for resting after busy day exploring Pico island. There is also one super cute cat for all cat lovers. Our best accomodation on Pico island! :)

Reviewed Aug 9, 2025camera di dimensioni generose con un terrazzino che ci permetteva di mettere fuori le cose. negli spazi comuni è disponibile una grande cucina con un frigo e ripiani divisi per camera, così da poter riporre il cibo necessario senza il problema di sbagliarsi. Petra è stata gentilissima da prima del nostro arrivo (avvenuto in tarda serata) e ci ha anche preparato una colazione da portare via per una mattinata dove saremmo usciti molto presto. Se tornassi a Pico soggiornerei qui :)

Reviewed Jul 31, 2025Soggiorno perfetto! La casa è bellissima e accogliente, con una bella sala con vista sul mare e su Faial. La colazione è variegata e con molti prodotti locali, sia dolci che salati. Possibilità di richiederla take-away in caso di partenza presto. Staff molto gentile e Petra, la proprietaria, nonostante non ci siamo viste di persona è stata molto attenta e presente, prenotandoci anche il taxi per l'ultimo giorno. Vicino a molti ristoranti e al centro di Madalena. Ho apprezzato anche l'assenza di plastica usa e getta in camera.
Unico piccolo appunto, abbiamo cambiato stanza dopo una notte per questioni di disponibilità, e la seconda stanza aveva il bagno più piccolo senza bidet.

Reviewed Jul 9, 2025Lovely place to stay for a few days on Pico. The staff is super friendly and inviting, the daily breakfast is delicious and the overall space is very comfortable. There is a yard with some green space out back, plenty of tables to eat and relax at and a couple friendly cats hanging out if you're a cat person. Location is a short walk to the supermarket as well as a handful of restaurants. "Downtown" is about a 5-10 minute walk as well. Very convenient if you don't have a car and they have free parking on site as well so very convenient if you do have a car. They have a community fridge with space for everyone staying and shelf space for dry goods. Lovely stay.
Can't quite name anything. This place was perfect for our short stay on Pico.

Reviewed Jun 26, 2025The host is extremely nice and kind, helping me with laundry service, renting bike and hailing taxi etc. As I need to get up early before breakfast time to climb mount pico, she even prepared snacks and sandwich for me. The facility is top with fully equipped kitchen and pleasant common area. The majority of guests are Germans.
The bunker bed is a bit strange but works for me as a solo traveler. My balcony is facing a sheep pen, and these animals are very cute but can make noise in early morning lol
