The only positive part of our stay was the breakfast. Aside from that, the hotel's overall performance and cleanliness were very poor. I definitely would not recommend staying here.

From the moment we arrived exhausted, the owner repeatedly pressured us to buy an overpriced safari tour. Even after we went to our room to rest, he kept knocking on our door and calling us to join the tour, which felt very intrusive and disrespectful. The room conditions were unacceptable. We found around five frogs in our bathroom, and the room was full of ants, insects, and flies. The furniture and surfaces were visibly dusty.

Ze waren vlak naast onze kamer aan het bouwen en maakten veel herrie. Om de herrie te verdoezelen gebruikten ze harde muziek. Het was ongeveer naast het zwembad, dus geen rustige omgeving. Niet alles wat op booking staat is aanwezig (o.a. vissen) en dat was een argument om voor deze locatie te kiezen...

The family treehouse was so very special. The breakfast was also good and the staff were helpful in arranging our safari trips. The location was also good.

There was no bar / restaurant by the pool.

The stay was amazing, the staff were super friendly and went above and beyond for when we requested something, the beds were comfortable and the overall vibe was so good.

The only thing I didn't like is that we couondt stay longer. Everything was perfect.

Friendly stuff, very good food, relaxing pool... and Dudley himself is open and gives a lot of information about himself, the region and the place. Fair rates and reliable informations. If you want, Dudley helps to organize all kind of touristic trips around.

L'emplacement est pratique pour visiter la région. Le petit déjeuner plutôt copieux qui change tous les jours.

Séjour moyen au global, La cabane dans les arbres est a éviter si vous avez le sommeil léger. Écureuils qui courent sur le toit toute la nuit, craquement au moindre coup de vent, combats de chien sous les fenêtres... Il y avait des travaux dans le complexe pendant notre séjour : le doux bruit de la disqueuse a partir de 8h30 au petit déjeuner jusqu'à 19h30 voir plus à vraiment gâché les moments de détente à l'hôtel puisque les travaux étaient directement a côté de la piscine et de la salle de restaurant. Des horaires devraient être imposées par le propriétaire ! L’eau de la piscine a donné des boutons et des irritations à nos 2 enfants ainsi qu'aux autres enfants des personnes en séjour au même moment. Pour finir un barbecue nous a été facturé pour 4000 roupies même pour notre fille de 8 ans qui ne mange pas de viande!! Le repas le plus cher que nous ayons mangé au Sri Lanka alors que c'était très loin d'être fantastique... Un séjour plutôt mitigé...

Dudley is een hele vriendelijke man die alles voor je regelt. Van drivers, tot safari. Van tuktuk tot diners. Alles regelt hij. Locatie is mooi gelegen in een tuin, met een lekker zwembad en hangmatten om te chillen. Op loopafstand zitten ook lekkere en leuke restaurants. Prima uitvalsbasis voor alle trips in de culturele driehoek.

De kamer wordt tussendoor niet schoongemaakt, waardoor we zelf moesten vragen de prullenbak te legen en de vloer aan te vegen. Verder is alles overigens heel netjes en verzorgd.

Belle piscine, calme, dans la nature.

Le wifi ne fonctionnait pas. Il manque quelques aménagements autours de la piscine tels que matelas sur les transats. L'ensemble est encore en cours de rénovation... L'organisation pourrait être un peu plus clair et rigoureux.

Tree house, sorroundings, breakfast

Prachtige plek met veel groen. Ruime, comfortabele kamer. Heerlijk gegeten, zowel ontbijt als ‘s avonds. Personeel en eigenaar Dudley zijn vriendelijk en zeer behulpzaam. Uitstekende prijs-kwaliteit verhouding, we hebben genoten!

An amazing resort to stay at! We spent three nights in the romantic treehouse, which has a wonderful jungle atmosphere. Monkeys literally climb through the surrounding trees, so don’t leave any belongings outside. On our final night, we stayed in the beautiful octagonal family room, which was spacious and equally charming. The resort is perfect for solo travelers, couples, and families alike. The resort features a large swimming pool and offers a peaceful, relaxing environment. Breakfast was delicious, with a wide variety of authentic Sri Lankan dishes ranging from sweet and savory to mildly spicy. Our favorite was the coconut pancakes served with honey. Although the resort feels secluded, it is within walking distance of several restaurants and the main road, where you’ll find small local shops. The location is ideal for visiting Sigiriya, Dambulla, and Polonnaruwa Ancient City. We also highly recommend an elephant safari in Minneriya National Park. The owner, Dudley, was incredibly helpful and arranged several of these activities for us at fair prices. He even drove us personally to some of the attractions and to our next hotel. Thank you, Dudley, for your kindness, hospitality, and for sharing your personal stories and insights about Sri Lanka with us. It truly made our stay even more memorable.

L’accueil du patron qui est un vrai commercial, il nous a proposé son catalogue d’activités dès notre arrivée ! Avant le pot d’accueil (industriel). Les chambres ne sont pas très propres Les travaux dans tout l’hôtel Les photos mensongères sur le site ex : les chambres dans le tonneau qui n’étaient pas accessibles du fait des travaux.

Sehr toller Ort in natürlicher Umgebung. Schöner sauberer Pool. Der Staff war sehr Hilfsbereit und Freundlich. Vorallem der Chef half wo er nur konnte.

Wir können nur positives berichten. Gern besuchen wir die Unterkunft beim nächsten Mal wieder.

Lovely tree house and yummy breakfast

Hele aardige en behulpzame eigenaar die veel heeft geregeld. Top Safari met beste gids en een goede chauffeur voor onze reis! Het ontbijt is fantastisch en 1 groot avontuur. Zwembad is lekker en fijn. Wij sliepen in de boomhut en dit was een mooi avontuur. Apen wonen in de bomen om je heen!

Omdat het restaurant in verbouwing was kon je ‘s avonds niet ergens wat drinken en kon je alleen op de kamer zitten. Soms erg zoeken naar waar een drankje te bestellen. Boomhut voelde best benauwd omdat je de ramen / deuren niet open kan doen ivm apen die naar binnen kunnen komen.

Alles war perfekt, wie ich es gesucht habe! Die Beschreibung hier stimmt. Habe hier 5 Nächte verbracht... BBQ war fabelhaft und ich habe es sehr genossen! Die Massage, die Dudley vermittelt hat, war sehr gut und hat meinem Fersensporn gut geholfen! Die Umstände auf der Insel sind zur Zeit leider nicht überall gut. Der Zyklon hat hier keine Schäden angerichtet. Nun jedoch, im rest vom Land ist ziemlich viel kaputt, Ich wünsche den betroffenen Menschen viel Kraft! Dudley ist ein guter! Überaus gastfreundlich und hilft wo er kann! Alles gute und viel Glück 🍀!

It’s in such a beautiful location, the pool is amazing and the rooms are very comfortable with everything you need. Our host, Dudley along with his family and staff, were so helpful, friendly and kind. The breakfast was delicious. We had a wonderful time, I would strongly reckoned that you book this spot for your stay in Habarana.

prima verblijf. Het gebied is erg toeristisch en dat merk je aan alles. Zo ook hier. Ontbijt was lekker en de staff hielp mij snel zoeken toen mijn schoen in de ochtend niet meer naast de deur stond.

Uiteindelijk was het een van onze duurdere locaties, maar niet extreem goed of bijzonder. Het avond eten was erg lekker (Currie en mixed grill), maar niet exeptioneel voor dat hij best wat duurder was dan elders.

Der Pool war schön und sauber.

Unser zimmer war für den Preis sehr schlicht und nicht sauber. Das BBQ am Abend war sehr überschaubar und für die lokalen Preise völlig überteuert.

The first two days in the 'barrel' were pretty good. The property is nice, although it is in the middle of ongoing construction. A short walk from many restaurants.

The owner double-booked our accommodation and asked us to move to another room on our third night. He gave us the tree house and a double room (which smelled like mold). He asked me to cancel the booking and pay privately to avoid booking fees. We let our kids (the oldest is 17) take the tree house and my husband and I took the double room. shortly before the kids went to sleep they called me in panic because the outlet for the AC had caught on fire. My teenage son acted quickly and pulled the plug on the AC after protecting his hands and prevented an absolute disaster. On top of this huge scare, we woke up the next day with bed bug bites.

Nicely set up nature resort, with rooms set amongst the leafy flower beds. Friendly, welcoming staff. Food was generally quite good, and the barbecue night was excellent. Rooms were a pretty good size. Great location for safaris to Habarana and visiting Sigiriya Rock but set away from the main road.

The bathrooms are looking a bit dated and could do with some refurbishment. There were some issues with the pool filter during our stay but staff were doing their best to resolve this. Tiles around the pool could be kept a bit cleaner - they were very slippy - but this is difficult due to the red earth flower beds that surround the pool.

Very relaxed stay with all facilities needed for a family of 4! The staff goes.beyond in every way. Maleesha (son of Dudley) is creating his own gem of a business (Woodland Sanctuary) right next to the beloved Dudley house. A true hidden gem that you don't want to miss! For now he has 2 villa's. But Maleesha is building his own restaurant and swimming Pool for the future. Keep up the beautiful work! Would love to see the result in the future! Can't wait.

None. Every detail is righ!, Providing all services that is required for a remenorable stay! Our highlight, of maybe our entire Sri Lanka trip. The guided safaripark through Hurulu. Epic!! What a happening. Our 2 daughters (2 and 5 yes) will remember this for the rest of their lives. Please note, we where here during off-season. So not to many jeeps. We can imagne, high season it is crazy /busy in terms of amount of jeeps driving around.

Tolle, nach oben offene Freilanddusche im Woodland. Perfekter Pool und tolles Ambiente. Super freundliche Betreiber. Sehr hilfsbereit. Frühstück sehr ausreichend.

Handseife im Bad hat gefehlt. Vielleicht noch ein weiterer Handtuchhalter im inneren Bereich des Woodlands.

Breakfast was good BBQ was something different

Room description on Booking.com spoke of Tv, bath robes and toiletries. I can confirm no rooms at this place have these. Check in (or any subsequent communication with staff) is hard because you can’t find anyone. There is no reception - just a random deserted space with a filthy sink. I resorted to trying to message through the Booking app but mostly no response. When we explained to staff we didn’t understand why our rooms in no way resembled the room descriptions they gave conflicting explanations . I don’t need a TV on holiday but the room description should be much more accurate. To be fair the staff went out and acquired toiletries in a response to our query about the room. We appreciated the gesture but I think they should instead focus on correcting the room description. In terms of the accommodation i think the two new funky looking pods are probably better (because they are new) but our rooms were a bit grim. Everything needed fixing from the shower bracket hanging off the wall to the window that didn’t shut to the toilet that leaked when we flushed it. The bathroom also stunk. Our family room had very little natural light and the lights in the room were a weird blue/purple so I always felt like I was feeling round in the dark in my suitcase for clothes. Much of the above could be fixed quickly and cheaply eg the broken shower bracket just needs a nail in the wall. Lastly the swim pool is hazardous. Dudley mentioned sharp edges but even when trying to avoid the sharp bits the children got cut feet and we got scared to swim in it. There are 5 sun loungers of which only 3 have a muddy thin plastic thing not designed for sun loungers (ie no mattresses). These are not expensive things to improve but no-one does.

Wirklich ein schöner und ruhiger Ort mitten im Grünen! Der Pool ist super und Dudley hat uns ein wirklich leckeres Abendessen gekocht! Wirklich zu empfehlen!

Het ontbijt was fantastisch: uitgebreid, gevarieerd, mooi gepresenteerd, zoet en hartig, authentiek. De familiekamer was zeer ruim. Als er al opmerkingen waren, werd er onmiddellijk op gereageerd. De eigenaars deden hun uiterste best om de gasten in de watten te leggen en te helpen met vervoer, uitstappen, speciale vragen enz. Zeer lekkere barbecue gegeten, naar het schijnt een goede gewoonte van de eigenaars.

Het water van het zwembad was groenig en troebel toen we aankwamen en nodigde niet echt uit om te zwemmen. Ook dit probleem werd binnen 2 dagen onder handen genomen en het zwembad grondig gereinigd.

Het is een oase van rust en het eten is geweldig!

Het zwembad was niet zo schoon, maar onze kinderen speelden er niet minder hard om!

Wij hebben in de nieuwe suite geslapen. Prachtig gebouw met 2 verdiepingen en een terras. Vooral de badkamer die deels buiten is, is fantastisch. Het voelt allemaal erg luxe aan. Op beide verdiepingen hangt een airco waardoor de temperatuur binnen goed te regelen is. Er is een fijn zwembad aanwezig waar je lekker kunt afkoelen. Pas wel op voor wat scherpe randjes. Wij liepen enkele kleine snijwondjes op. En er mogen wel iets meer ligbedden (met kussens) bij het zwembad. Fijne accommodatie bij een vriendelijke familie.

- le cadre de l’hôtel, plongé dans la nature - l’emplacement : facilité de se déplacer à pied aux alentours - l’accueil du propriétaire - les repas (petit-déjeuners variés et généreux, dîners proposés (soirée barbecue et soirée rice & curry) tres bons)

- la literie (oreillers trop épais et durs) - la piscine (eau trouble) - la douche (tres peu de pression) - ménage non fait au quotidien

We paid €120/night expecting luxury, but got a dirty bathroom + many ants inside the toilet, broken door that doesn’t lock, leaking sink), filthy mosquito net, broken mirror, and a disgusting fridge. Power even went out. Breakfast was a disaster: toast hard as rocks, an ant inside a cake, another toast just left dead on the tray, and rotti that tasted old, not freshly made. The “BBQ”: drinks not included, and when I asked for one extra sausage I was told “no, get the one of your friend( I didn’t like other pieces). I had to eat one sausage and some potato while watching my companions get more. The owner even follows you counting every water bottle, charges for each one, and doesn’t offer a single free bottle – much cheaper hotels did. Other hotels in the same area offer true luxury for the same price, while here the owner spends on building new cabins instead of fixing the basics. Pool and A/C worked, but nothing justifies €120/night.

…der muss dringend renoviert werden. Schlecht verfugt mit spitzen Kanten trugen wir einige kleine Schnitte davon! Es gab fast keine Moskitos, dennoch freuen wir uns immer über Moskitonetze oder einen eigenen Kühlschrank. Wir bekamen aber umgehend einen „Stecker“ gegen Moskitos und durften unsere Sachen in einem großen Kühlschrank lagern!

Bathroom stinks

Supermooie accomodatie met veel groen op loopafstand van de restaurantjes in Habarana.

Abbiamo dormito nella cabana, location pazzesca in mezzo alla giungla! La grigliata a bordo piscina è stata molto carina, così come il buffet di curry!

La piscina non era molto invitante

La ubicación es bastante buena respecto a la carretera central. La disposición de la suite es excelente, tremendamente cómoda.

La piscina no está del todo limpia (aunque aún así resulta agradable bañarse después de todo el día fuera). Las habitaciones no se limpian a diario. El pago no se puede hacer con tarjeta, es algo excesivo pagar al contado las cantidades que se manejan.

Il proprietario organizza tutto per voi: dal Safari nei parchi attorno ai trasporti verso le prossime destinazioni, ha anche preparato la cena che abbiamo gustato nel bellissimo giardino attorno alla piscina. La struttura è pulita. Relax assoluto.

Maybe the location.

The room was dirty and the fan on the ceiling wasn’t working. There were no mosquito nests for the beds and no fridge in the room, although mentioned at the reservation. The pool was very dirty.

We hadden een boomhutje geboekt, super mooi gemaakt, van hout en een airco, heel erg sfeervol. Ontbijt was echt heerlijk, tevens de barbecue was ontzettend lekker en het diner daar ook, een absolute aanrader! Zwembad lekker groot!

De hygiene vielt ietswat tegen, maar dat mag de pret niet drukken!

Zwembad in het groen, maar wel beetje smoezelig water

Water zwembad en wat harde bedjes. Onderlaken ging steeds los van het bed.

Wij zaten in een van de tonnen en die waren super! Fijn die buiten douche (ook al was t een beetje lastig continu warm water te krijgen) het zag er voor Sri lankeze begrippen prima uit. Er lagen geen kussens bij de bedjes, die hebben ze blijkbaar wel maar was t personeel vergeten neer te leggen…

Fint lille resort, hvor værten og hans søn tog sig af alle gæster på en venlig og personlig måde. De hjalp fx os med at blive kørt hen til en nærliggende restaurant hvor vi kunne spise første aften, hvor vi tjekkede sent ind.

La cena buffet, el desayuno y prácticamente todo, espectacular. La cabaña construida por ellos es un auténtico sueño, si volviera, repetiría 100%.

Sehr gepflegte Anlage in tollem Garten. Der Pool ist fabelhaft. Dudley und sein Sohn sind hervorragende Gastgeber. Wir haben in der brandneuen zweistöckigen Suite gewohnt. Einfach toll, vor allem das Bad mit Dusche unter freiem Himmel. Frühstück nur zu empfehlen. Es gab jeden Tag eine neue Auswahl an leckeren Sachen. Wir haben auch zwei Ausflüge und den Transfer über Dudley gebucht. Hat alles super funktioniert. Nur zu empfehlen.

Kleine Verbesserungsvorschläge: Poolauflagen wären toll und vielleicht auch extra Handtücher für den Pool.

We stayed in one of the tree houses which was beautifully designed. Owner and staff were super accommodating going out of their way to make sure we were well taken care of. From great hospitality to arranging trips and drivers and even collecting us from the station. Thanks for an amazing time.

Beliggenheden er perfekt til de mange oplevelser i området. Personalet er super venligt og hjalp med at arrangere ture til en fair pris. Om aftenen var der grill for alle gæsterne. Perfekt oplevelse.

Enjoyed everything. The BBQ on our first night was good. The Rice and Curry buffet on the second night was delicious. Air conditioning and Wi Fi works ok. Safari organised by Dudley to Minneriya Park was amazing. We saw over a hundred elephants. Lucky us. The transfer he arranged for our onward travel was efficient . Overall it was good value for money.

Pool could be kept cleaner but it's hard in the jungle. The sun-beds and shade could be better. A better hotel direction sign at the main road turn off would help. We got lost.

We stayed in the two bedroom suite and it was amazing! Cool architecture with comfortable beds and great view of the gardens! The breakfast was delicious, made up of Sri Lankan pastries and freshly baked breads. Location was good as we were walking distance to a number of restaurants.

This is not really a feature that I don’t like. I think future guests should be aware. The outdoor bathroom was unique. It takes a bit of getting used to especially with the temperature difference.

Dudley Nature Resort is truly a sanctuary in the heart of Habarana. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the staff and felt at home. The resort is surrounded by lush greenery, and waking up to the sounds of birds and monkeys was such a refreshing change. The rooms are clean, spacious, and tastefully decorated with a rustic charm. We spent our evenings by the pool, sipping tea and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. The highlight was definitely the hospitality – Dudley went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable, and his stories about the resort’s journey were inspiring. We highly recommend this place to anyone who loves nature and authentic Sri Lankan hospitality.

La casa sull'albero è fantastica. Ben "sigillata" contro infiltrazioni di insetti e animali esterni, aria condizionata, bagno con acqua calda, due letti grandi con zanzariera e tutti i comfort necessari senza perdere il fascino di dormire su un albero. Al mattino le scimmie sono venute a vedere se ci fosse cibo x loro. Le avevamo sentite anche sul tetto nella notte. Bellissima esperienza. Tutta la guest house molto accogliente con zone comuni e piscina dove la sera è stato organizzato un delizioso barbecue. Siamo stati benissimo. Grazie Dudley family.
