This is a huge apartment and truly unique. I love the character of it. You can feel the history. Located in a quiet part of town yet in easy walking distance of everything. Clean and tidy. The hosts could not have been nicer. Excellent communications. Very clear check in instructions with accompanying videos to illustrate things to know within the apartment.

There is nothing to dislike here.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Perfect stay — we’ll definitely return We loved our stay in this beautiful historic basement flat. The location is ideal — only about an 11-minute walk from Amsterdam Centraal, yet in a peaceful, traditional area while still being right next to shops, restaurants, bars and lovely canal views. The apartment is full of character, with exposed brick, original timber beams and a unique cave-style kitchen. The cosy sitting area, gym, table tennis and darts were great extras, and the big comfortable bed, romantic fairy lights and warm underfloor heating made it feel extra special after long days exploring. This will definitely be our first choice when we return to Amsterdam, and we’ve already said we wouldn’t book anywhere else next time. Hopefully we’ll be back again soon!

Shower pressure waant great but is minor compared to the beautiful basement apartment you get

Ubicación excelente, a un paso del centro de la ciudad y de la estación Central. El local, la “cava” es enorme y está decorada con gusto. Es cierto que los aparatos deportivos no los utilizamos, pero igual son útiles a otras personas. Comunicación excelente con los propietarios y trato muy cercano. Es una antigua bodega de la casa, así que hay que contar con que no hay ventanas a la calle, excepto la de la entrada, pero tiene una estupenda ventilación y una calefacción adecuada. Un par de cápsulas de café y una botella de agua no estarían de más para redondearlo todo. Sí había, en cambio, té y azúcar.

Location, very quiet but close to the city, food, and the train station! The vent and the heating system are very good! Make you feel warm with air movement.

It can get pretty dark given it's half underground

Great apartment, great size with all amenities like kitchen, dining table ect.

The only problem was the mattress seemed quick old with blood stains on. Apart from that the room was very clean.

Location was perfect. Owners were very nice and helpful. Very interesting historic property.

Apartment smelled musty (but makes sense as it is basement). Washing machine was blocked with cleaning supplies, hindering its use.

It was such a huge space. Nice and cool and dark for our jet lag transition. The bed was comfortable and close to a place to rent bikes and explore.

Kitchen very dark

This is a unique property which is centrally located. It is a full basement so there’s a ton of room but not much light. The owners are very responsive. Convenient to a small market.

With all of the space, it could use an extra bed.

Great stay, outstanding location. If you plan to walk there be sure to have your route planned out if you don’t have Navigation available! It took us a long time, lugging luggage, to get there. Space is ginormous!

The location was perfect right in the heart of the city but on such a beautiful spot where it’s perfectly quiet. Great privacy and walking distance within the city centre / train station / bikes / metro. The hosts were fantastic with great Communication always made sure if I needed anything they’re were in touch.

Great location, close enough to everything but far enough away to be out of the hussle and bustle. Huge space full of character, completely unique place to stay.

Instructions to get to apartment could have been clearer, i.e specific from the train station. I had to buy a map to work out where to go!

The location was excellent being on a canal and a short walk to the city centre, centraal station and the red light district. Huge apartment below a canal house and very quiet. Hosts were great and made arrangements for us to drop our bags off prior to check in.

The apartment is huge! Full of character and in a great location, really close to the centre but still on a quiet peaceful street. Roel was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Everything was great.

Stayed 2 hours and left. Sacrificed AUD $1512 to leave. Absentee landlord "surprised" but nothing further at this stage. Retired couple - this was a lot of money for us to lose. So we didn't leave just to be fussy.

No breakfast provided not enough bedding and both of us caught bed bug mites from tge apartment.The owner says he clearly stated it had a double bed ,why did he provide a sofa bed if he only wanted a couple to stay ?He then implied we may have caught the bed bugs else where,whn his place was the only place we slept at.the door to the spartment was like a shed door ,the door he showed on ypur site was his own front door to his house above not the door to the apartment.He even left us a note to say not to use sll the lights as electric expensive ,yet i psid over a 1000 for my 5 nite stsy ,more than enough to cover the electric bill.

Huge space in a great location. Short walk to all the action of Amsterdam but far enough away to be quiet. Some areas of Amsterdam can feel a bit unsafe and sketchy, but not this area. It was quiet and comfortable with only local/minimal foot traffic. Check in was very easy and you could tell all the linen and towels were freshly cleaned. Bed was very comfy. Washing machine was very useful. Would stay here again if I come back to Amsterdam.

As mentioned there was still road construction going on right outside so we didn’t get to sit by the canal which would have been nice, but this isn’t in control of the owners.

The accommodation was in a cave under the main house with no opening window it was more like a dungeon with old wornout furniture The owners live above and it was sometimes noisy with loud music one night Best feature location

Amazing location and great hosts.

It was exactly as described, it was even better when you see it yourself. The apartment is huge but so comfortable. It is in a great location, just a short walk from the train station and within easy access to pubs and restaurants. The checkin and checkout procedure was excellent. Raul was a very good host as was the cleaning lady. I would definitely recommend the apartment.

Nothing to dislike, building work being carried out outside of the apartment on the canal but it wasn’t too intrusive and didn’t spoil our stay.

Huge space in an historic building. We appreciated the dishwasher and washing machine. Owners were extremely helpful and friendly. The position cannot be beaten, right on a canal and walking distance to most major attractions.

Lovely, big apartment in such a great location. We are backpacking for a few months and it was so nice to be able to have space to unpack and relax. We used the ping pong table a few times as well. All the facilities you need, we were able to have a couple of chilled nights cooking our own food and watching tv. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. Lots of great restaurants around the corner. Close to the central area but far enough that it is quiet and you get a great nights sleep!

We have not provided any other comments on this apartment as we were so disappointed with the apartment that we found alternative accommodation that evening at considerable additional expense and returned the key the following morning.

We thought the photos might exaggerate how large the place was, but it was no exaggeration, the place was huge!

Smart, quirky apartment in a central location with great hosts who dealt with a few minor issues brilliantly.

There’s some civic construction work being carried out in the canal side. This took the shine off things a little but was obviously completely out of our hosts’ control. When the work is done, the apartment will be even better!

Very spacious and well appointed. Interesting and unique. Quiet neighborhood. Comfortable bed. Short walk to Centraal Station and Dam Square makes it easy to get trams to anywhere.

The amount of space is unbelievable. We stayed for New Year and could have easily stayed in for the whole of our stay.

A beautiful basement apartment that has everything you need and much more. Very large with great facilities and added touches and the photos do not do it justice. The owner is very friendly professional and helpful. The apartment is in a perfect location within walking distance of everything but in a calm wonderful location. We simply cannot praise this apartment enough and it is the best we have stayed in and would highly recommend. On top of all of this Amsterdam is an exciting wonderful place to visit and we cannot wait to go back again.

Everything! The first impression was how friendly and helpful Roel was. He showed us around, and made us feel welcome. He also told us a little about the history of the place when I asked about it. The space is large, and has everything you need, and the kicthen is well stocked.

There was a mouse in the kitchen running from one corner to another. Plus it smells like in the old church unfortunately. Better air conditioning and dehumidification could help. :(
